Met visitors from Mexico here for a drink before their flight. Papago Golf Course is not far from the airport... so this was a perfect place for a conversation and good food. Special white wine by Meiomi was truly refreshing. Snack of shredded beef in red sauce resting on a bed of rice was perfect. Best of all... the view as we exited the restaurant. We stopped in here this week for a happy hour with friends before heading to the Zoo for Roars and Pours. Our friend had reserved a firepit spot for us and just 'wow'- so comfy around the fire enjoying friends, wine and snacks. There was live music as well (he was VERY good!), service was excellent and the sunset was incredible. There is a huge grassy area where kids were playing, and a friend brought her pup so patio is dog friendly. I will say the happy hour pricing wasn't great- $1 off wine- but being on a golf course and with this view of the Papago mountain, they don't really need to provide a deal lol. Came here on a Monday afternoon for lunch with a bunch of mom friends and our kiddos. We had spent the morning at the zoo so this was a convenient, close place to grab food. A couple of the friends I was with come here quite a bit because they can sit outside with the kids, who can run around the nice big grassy area. Anywhere with a space the kids can be loose and free is a HUGE BONUS! I called ahead and made a reservation since there was 11 of us total. They set us up at one of their fire pit areas, that were all fully in the sun. They had umbrellas around but we had to move them, and set them up ourselves. I guess they didn't mind that we moved the umbrellas but they also didn't help us. Service was slow and food was not very good. It's rare I feel this way - I'm not a picky eater, I'm usually very pleased with most things. I got the fish and chips and the fish was tough. My friends said their fish tacos were really dry. I tried my daughter's chicken fingers and they were also tough! It's like they were using bad pieces of meat. The french fries were great. Overall, I don't think it was worth the money. read more

I didn't realize this was the golf course restaurant though .. you will see Papago mountains in the background which is nice.. they have a nice patio are that's fenced in.. which is very nice if you have little ones.. A first visit after a baseball game at Papago sports complex. We tried the French dip and the chicken enchiladas. Both were exceptional. The chicken enchiladas had a very nice cream sauce and the chicken was well prepared and very flavorful. Unfortunately, our check got mixed up and there was a little bit of delay, getting our meals. However, they were very accommodating, apologetic and comped part of our meal as a result of their error. This is an awesome space for kids and adults and has a great view. Went here for brunch/lunch on Sunday. Pretty much just go here for the ambiance, and the nice big dog-friendly patio. I really enjoy that they have a nice grass area for you to let your dog stretch their legs, and have low top tables and couches that let you be nearby your dog. Our service was OK. Right after our server brought our waters over, he spilled one all over the table and didn't even say sorry or attempt to wipe it down, just left it there to run across the table! I thought that was pretty funny but no worries since we were outside. My chicken and waffles were a little measly on the tenders and burnt waffles, which I don't understand why they had charred them! Not a huge deal. Oh and they only have Pepsi products. That was truly the only bummer. read more

The salad I had was very fresh and my mouth was bursting with flavor! The ingredients all blended well together and this was one of the best salads I've ever had. Ok these good review have to be fake. I stopped coming here maybe a year ago because the service kept getting worse and worse. After a year I thought maybe they had fixed things but we just walked in for brunch and the place was 2/3 empty and hostess said her manager told them they were on a wait and it would be about an hour. Just discovered this hidden gem. Took my Niece and Nephew out to dinner. It was a Monday so it was pretty quiet. Our service was extremely quick and our food was delicious. I had the Berry Salad. It was generous, fresh and delicious. My nephew had a burger and fries. Both were high quality. The fries were crisp and tasty. He also ordered a Mule from the bar and stated it was really great. My niece had a chicken sandwich that looked so fantastic, I plan to order it next time. Juicy chicken, yummy fig sauce, crisp apple slices. She also really enjoyed the sweet potato fries. Very cute spot! Some friends and I decided to meet at Lou's because it was a nice halfway point. It's located in Papago Park, so you get to enjoy the lovely views of the mountains. We came at sunset, so it was extra beautiful! As a new mom, I appreciated how kid-friendly it was. It can be nerve-racking to go out in public with babies, but I felt very comfortable here! Our kind server added to that. I ordered a spicy margarita and we shared some items from the happy hour menu. We went with the chips and salsa and the prime rib tacos. The food was average, nothing really stood out as something I would want to come back to eat again. If you're looking for a family friendly venue that offers indoor and outdoor space, a fun vibe, great views, etc... you can't go wrong with Lou's. I've been with my family a handful of times and I have never been disappointed. I will say that my first couple of visits, I was a bit underwhelmed with the food, but I think it's gotten better and I have been impressed with it as of late. On a recent visit, I had a Bloody Mary and a Cobb Salad with Shrimp, and some sweet potato fries. My family also enjoyed wings and pizza. It looks like Lou's does a great job with catering to large groups as it always appears to have private functions going on... I need to keep this in mind for future! I will definitely be back, especially now that my kids seem to be taking up golf! read more

I'm not sure if Lou's is under new management, but the food has improved so much since the last time we visited. Naturally, we love Lou's because of the views. We are also big fans of their frozen margaritas. However, the food was cooked perfectly the last time we went. The happy hour margarita pizza was amazing with those mozzarella balls. The wings were crispy, yet had the perfect sauce ratio. The sauce they use for the calamari was GREAT! The cherry on top was the brownie & ice cream dessert. I've been coming here for awhile as it's walking distance from my house. The food has always been good and this time I tried the cookie skillet and it was so tasty!! Ambiance is great, it's next to the golf course, open air concept and fire pits! It doesn't get better than that. The service was also great, Matt at the bar was attentive and helpful and the manager on duty was very sweet and turned on the Lakers game for me which is always appreciated! I really liked the location. The mountains in the background -very Phoenix with beautiful landscape and of course surrounded by the golf course. I can't say the food was that delicious , I had the steak tacos and tried the guacamole. Food for me was maybe 6/10. Others in my family got the chicken sandwich, calamari, salads and cocktails. I was happy with all the grass area near the table that gave the kids something to do (trucks, corn hole and free space to run). We had bathrooms near us but more inside near the entrance (baby changing table available). Our waitress was friendly and quick to return with food. When everyone was leaving the security guard was kind and offered a ride to the car (my toddler really loved this). read more

Always depends on who's serving / bartender and 3/5 because we USUALLY have a good time and food service. There were roughly 20 of us at Lou's. One of the kids ran inside and grabbed a bag of chips to which we saw that the bartenders saw her do it. She ran and gave the bag of chips to her mom who then turned to the male bartender wearing an orange shirt and said "hey my daughter grabbed this bag of chips" he responded "okay" and then she said she wanted to make sure she could pay for it and he said "sure" before turning his back and walking away. I made a comment saying that was rude of him because she said she wanted to pay so why not get her the bill so the female bartender (teal shirt long black hair) responded saying " we don't normally serve children at the bar" like no shit, but you also didn't stop her from grabbing the bag of chips. Then she told us it was $2.50. They paid. When sharing with other parents what had happened one said maybe we took it the wrong way but one of the dads interjected and said he saw it and that the guy bartender was indeed rude. read more

Came to check out restaurant week here after seeing their menu and so glad we did! Had no idea this place existed until arrival. The views of the mountains and golf course were gorgeous! Minus the construction, I imagine there's a pretty great view of the sunset too. Also inspired me to want to play a round of golf or corn hole. While there, the garage doors were open, but it was still a somewhat warm evening. Again, imagine it's pretty fantastic if we ever make it out of the 100's... First option was a margarita or a beer = easy choice! They weren't joking with the margarita--small but mighty! Appetizer chosen was figs and burrata, which was really good. However, this is also the one course that I'd recommend any changes. Using fresh figs versus the dried ones would've been an amazing improvement! Enchiladas were delish--fully packed with meat, enjoyed the blue corn tortillas, and enough sauce and cheese to keep things moist! For dessert, went with the apple bread pudding. Again, very yummy. Left absolutely full and satisfied. Even attempted to suggest we return for another visit this week, to try out some other things on the menu! The pesto pasta and salmon got rave reviews and zero complaints from those who ordered them. Our server was super sweet, very attentive, and we didn't have to wait for anything! While visiting the Desert Botanical Garden we decided to stop for a quick lunch beforehand. Through yelp I came upon Lou's and figured it would be a great spot to try. I first noticed the ambiance, decorated nicely with ample seating space, both indoor and outdoor. We chose to sit outdoors, with a beautiful view of the mountains and golf range. They have a large grass space for children to play while waiting which is a huge plus. Our server was friendly and very welcoming and even greeted us with a toothy smile. We ordered the calamari, fish and chips, Turkey bacon club, a kids cheeseburger and a Cobb salad. The club sandwich and Cobb salad were absolutely delicious. The greens and tomatoes were very crisp and fresh. The calamari and fish were definitely a bit overbooked as they were both dry. The calamari was very chewy, almost rubbery. A bit of a let down, especially when priced at $15. The fish and chips was $18 and came with about half the amount of fries as the small fry I also ordered. The portion size was very underwhelming for the price. Overall I would be willing to try this place out again, especially since they have a dog friendly patio and a place for my little one to get her wiggles out while waiting. I will add that parking is slim, many cars were parked along the sides of the parking lot. We were lucky enough to snag a space. read more

Location and outdoor space is amazing - the only positive things about Lou's. Bartender Lindsey is very unethical. She automatically added a gratuity to my bill (see image attached), even though I ordered at the bar, and was NOT with a party of 6. Lindsey is extremely unfriendly. Asked her two questions related to what beer was on tap (I couldn't see the beer handles), each time she was vividly annoyed with my questions. She kept saying one of the beer tap handle was Kilt Lifter, even though I knew it wasn't since the handle was orange color. AWFUL AWFUL service! read more

My first time at Lou's. The views are really nice especially at sunset. The patio and golf course views have a similar feel to Isabella's Kitchen if you've been there. I cannot comment on the food as I was there for drinks. The drinks are adequate, but it's the view that you really go there for. The Papago rock formations look so amazing as the sun is setting and it nice to look out on green manicured landscaping. I have come here a couple times now and it gets better every time. They have a great happy menu, where you can try a bunch of different dishes. Our most recent visit was on a Sunday and we had the best server! Chase took care of our group out on the patio. We had family in town and he made their experience really great. Chase was so attentive and helpful! We ordered the nachos to start and everyone loved them! We added chicken tinga to them and really enjoyed the added sweetness these nachos have in comparison to others. We had the Turkey club, friend chicken sandwich, pancakes, kale salad and south western salads. Everyone was very happy with their meals! Great service, great food and the view is even better!
