I cannot say enough amazing things about Ashley and the entire team at Love Sew True. They were truly our saving grace during a bridal emergency with my cousin's wedding dress. After her original tailor butchered her dream gown just days before the big day, we were devastated. Enter Ashley -- an absolute angel who not only took on the project without hesitation but completely turned the situation around. Thanks to her incredible talent and compassion, my cousin got to walk down the aisle in her dream dress. It fit beautifully, looked flawless, and most importantly, made her feel confident and radiant. That is entirely because of Ashley. I had the honor of working with Ashley for my own wedding dress prior to this, and looking back, I now realize just how lucky I was. At the time, I thought that kind of expert, stress-free experience was normal. But seeing what my cousin went through elsewhere made me truly appreciate just how rare Ashley's skill and process really are. Ashley and her team create such a peaceful, thoughtful experience. Their timeline is spread out in a way that makes decisions easier (especially for an indecisive bride like me!), and they make room for adjustments as you go. My dress fit like a dream and I was able to fully enjoy every moment of my wedding day feeling like the most confident, beautiful version of myself. I will forever recommend Love Sew True to every bride I know. They are detailed, patient, calm under pressure, incredibly talented -- and most of all, they care. Everything from the start was great! Communication was clear, appointments were easy, and everyone there is so helpful. They did a great job hemming my dress and shortening my straps, and the bustle was beautiful. I was nervous to find a place that could handle the details on my dress and I always felt like my dress was in good hands. I only deducted a start because overall alterations ended up being around $1100 and one of my concerns were the cups of the dress and my boobs flying out. We figured the placement was good and then some boob tape would do it and that was that. The day of our wedding I was constantly having to shift the cup to where a part of it wasn't sticking out (it's showing in every photo at that angle) and when I removed the dress they were only sewed in with a couple strings (which came out with my boob tape when I took off the dress). I'm not sure what happened, but for the price I'm really upset looking at photos and seeing the cup sticking out. That being said--I think my dress was trickier and again I'm not sure what/how it happened. I would go back to Love Sew True again and will recommend them to anyone else. Just spend more time checking little details you might be concerned about because they will fix them! Just wish I had paid closer attention to the cups myself.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Ashley and the team at LoveSewTrue. They were recommended to me by Luv Bridal, and I'm so grateful for that referral. After having my wedding dress altered elsewhere and being very unhappy with the results, I came to Ashley feeling stressed and discouraged. She was incredibly professional, kind, and solutions-oriented -- she took the time to assess my dress carefully, explain what was possible given the prior alterations, and help me understand all my options. Unfortunately, my original dress was damaged beyond repair, and I had just three weeks until my wedding. Ashley and the LoveSewTrue team went above and beyond to accommodate me during an extremely stressful time. Thanks to their support, I found a new dress and felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day. Ashley made me feel comfortable, confident, and cared for -- like I was with a trusted friend. One note for brides: don't let the high deposit deter you. Their expertise, professionalism, and communication are worth every dollar. LoveSewTrue truly restored my confidence and turned a difficult situation into a positive experience. I can't recommend them highly enough!
Let's start with the basics: we began alterations 9 weeks before my wedding and paid a very expensive rush fee, yet my dress was not ready until the day before my wedding, when my mom had to pick it up. I came here by referral from Luv Bridal, so my expectations were understandably high. My first appointment with Ashley was promising and set expectations that were not met. The next three appointments were with different seamstresses, and very little actual work was done. Each visit felt like déjà vu--the hem was re-marked, the bustle was re-pinned, and I was repeatedly asked what type of bustle I wanted, despite having already discussed and pinned it multiple times. The lack of continuity was exhausting and incredibly frustrating. While the final two appointments with Ashley were an improvement, major issues still remained. The corset never laid flat as promised and visibly bulged at the waist, and although the dress technically fit, it was far from finished to the standard you expect after paying premium prices. To make matters worse, the bustle did not stay secured and kept falling out, which is particularly disappointing given how many appointments were spent addressing it. Between the added fees, inconsistent workmanship, and having to stress about my wedding dress during the week of my wedding, this experience did not come close to justifying the cost. For the amount charged, I expected expertise and peace of mind. What I got instead was last-minute stress and unresolved issues.
As the bride directly impacted by this experience, I feel compelled to formally voice my dissatisfaction regarding the services provided by Love Sew True and as a repsonse to a recent review that was left by someone who witnessed my final pick up experience and their repsonse to that. From the onset of the alterations process, I clearly articulated that my primary concern was the bust area of my high-neck gown. The fit was not only oversized but structurally unflattering due to excessive boning, creating a look that was inconsistent with the modern, elegant silhouette I had envisioned. This concern was communicated repeatedly and in no uncertain terms. While the staff was warm and kind--and as someone who works in the service industry, I deeply appreciate effort and kindness--I must make it clear: kindness does not equate to satisfaction. I acknowledge their effort, but that does not absolve the outcome. As we approached final delivery--just 48 hours prior to my wedding--it became alarmingly evident that the garment was not completed to an acceptable standard, nor was it delivered in wearable condition. The following issues remained unresolved: The bust remained ill-fitting and unstructured despite being the main point of concern since April - The side seams rippled even when zipped - The hem was still too long - The bow attachment was sloppily constructed - Loose threads were visible throughout the gown - The gown was returned with visible dirt and marks - The bustle was reinforced with random, visible stitching across the back - A proposed "solution" involving a seam straight across the bustline fundamentally altered the design and aesthetic of the dress. To be clear, this suggested seam would have significantly devalued the gown's original design and was presented without prior consultation or informed consent. The fact that this option was even proposed, let alone executed without discussing alternatives in advance, demonstrates a lack of professional judgment and design integrity. Though the seam was ultimately removed, the dress was returned to me in an unfinished and unwearable state. Despite the nature of these issues, at no point was I offered a refund or a reduction in fees. I was merely told the labor had been performed--however, in any service agreement, the expectation is that labor results in a deliverable product. In this case, the product was not delivered as promised or fit for its intended use. This is a clear failure to fulfill the expectations of service under what I reasonably believed to be a contractual agreement--both verbal and written--to alter my gown to the specifications discussed over the course of several appointments. The alterations were not completed to a professional or satisfactory standard, rendering the garment unwearable and requiring me to secure and purchase a completely new wedding gown less than two days before my wedding. The emotional and financial toll of this experience was significant. It added avoidable stress, anxiety, and cost to a day meant to be joyful. At no point did the business disclose any concerns about being unable to meet the requested alterations, which deprived me of the opportunity to make timely alternative arrangements. That lack of transparency is deeply disappointing and, in my opinion, negligent. While I appreciate not being charged for the last-minute work that was reversed, it does not rectify the overall experience, nor the harm caused by failing to deliver a promised service. Despite this, I was never offered a refund--only told that I was "paying for labor." But what good is labor if the service couldn't be delivered and the dress couldn't be worn? That logic would never fly in hospitality. If a guest is served a meal they can't eat, you don't shrug and say, "Well, the chef has already been paid." If the business was aware that the gown's construction was too complex to alter to the original vision, that should have been communicated upfront--informed consent is a basic tenet of ethical business practice. In summary: if your gown requires detailed tailoring or structural alterations, I would strongly urge you to consider other options. Love Sew True did not meet the standard of professional service, nor did they fulfill their obligations in good faith. At a minimum, I expected transparency, professionalism, and accountability. What I received instead was a misleading sense of reassurance until the very last moment--at which point it was too late to rectify the situation.
My best friend brought her wedding dress to LoveSewTrue for alterations and had the worst experience EVER. she explained what she wanted done to her dress and after multiple fittings they not only DIDN'T fix it but completely ruined the dress. They added a seam across the chest that wasn't there to begin with it. With less than 48 hours until her wedding we had to scramble and literally purchase a new dress because of what they did to her original dress. When they tried to make it better and take the seam out it still wasn't correct. They were full of excuses and not solutions. They took absolutely no ownership of the stress they caused what so ever. In addition to not altering the dress correctly they didn't even have the dress steamed and pressed when we came to pick it up. Who does that??? I've been married twice and have picked up two wedding dresses that were pure perfection when picked up and ready to wear. When asked about this the response was "even when I put it back in bag it's just gonna get wrinkled again". Who says that?? When asked for a refund they ignored the question all together. And literally had the nerve to ask for a signature on their form confirming she was satisfied with the work completed. That the final slap in the face. (Of course she didn't sign it) What they did was UNACCEPTABLE. Although I wasn't the bride I was there with her and was witness to this terrible experience. And it's a shame what they did to her dress. Considering this is one of the biggest days of her life and that this dress is everything she dreamed of it is really disappointing to watch her go through something like this. To all the future brides reading this review.......Please save yourself the stress and find somewhere else to take your dress for alterations.
Recommend to go here for any bridal alteration!! Everyone member of the team was super helpful and kind. They all put so much effort to make sure my gown was how I envisioned it to be. We spent multiple weeks to ensure it was tailored to perfection. I felt so beautifully snatched around my chest and waist, while having the length of train that I asked for. They also helped me fit the gown in my suitcase for my destination wedding, and checked multiple times for any flaws, they were very detail oriented. I got so many compliments on the gown and the fitting of it, super happy with the outcome!!
They are located in a business complex with ample parking. Very easy to find and Irvine is generally a nice area. When you arrive, door will be locked, so ring the bell and someone will open the door for you. They work by appointments and are always on time! My dress was a designer sample gown and fit tooo large. Ashley worked on the contour, shortening the hem, bustle, and even a custom veil. She (and staff) were always pleasant, and offered opinions and support when needed. They truly customize your dress to your liking and can offer custom accessories. I highly recommend for wedding dress alterations. They are transparent, efficient, and want you to feel beautiful on your wedding day! Make sure to contact them with enough time before your wedding date, to avoid rush fees. They are honest with how much time is needed and provide you price estimates when you make the inquiry.
I had to drive 2 hours each way to get to Love Sew True for like 6 fittings, so I'm glad to say it was well worth it. My prior alterations person completely ghosted my 2 months before my wedding, and I had a lot of alterations needed. I was completely panicked and unsure if there was any time to get what I wanted done, but Ashley was so calm and confident she put my mind at ease. I was so happy with the end results, it feels like a different dress and is exactly what I wanted. It's hard to comprehend how she and Felipe got so much done so quickly. They were super knowledgeable, had very flexible timing, and even let me do my last two fittings in the same day completing the work in between which saved me a ton of driving time. You can tell they really care about the quality of their work, and it shows. And while alterations are never cheap, the price was really fair for how much they did and how good their work was. Work done: hemming, fitting the bodice and adding their own cups/boning, removing the train, lining the bodice, removing the straps and altering the neckline to a sweetheart, swapping out buttons, and adding new lace to the bodice to cover up the prominent leaves in the original.
LoveSewTrue came highly recommended by my bridal salon, and after reading all the great reviews, I decided to reach out to them in late January 2024. With my wedding set for May, I had plenty of time for alterations. From the very first appointment to the day I picked up my gown, Ashley was incredibly patient and attentive. At first, I had some second thoughts about my dress--it felt too big, heavy, and restrictive, especially with its dramatic train, and I worried that I wouldn't be able to move or dance comfortably. But I decided to trust the process. We went with a full body contour, hem shortening, a five-point bustle, and added a bow to my beautiful Mikado gown. As my body changed throughout the alterations, Ashley made adjustments up until just a week and a half before the wedding to ensure a perfect fit. I also decided last minute to have them steam my dress, and when I picked it up, it was perfectly packaged to prevent any wrinkles during travel. On my wedding day, the gown fit like a glove, allowing me to dance and celebrate the night away. Huge thanks to Ashley and the team!
Ashley & her team at Love Sew True were incredible to work with. So kind, and AMAZING at their craft. I brought my wedding dress in 3 weeks prior to my wedding that needed one last crucial alteration that another seamstress neglected to finish, after a couple other places said was "too risky" or "impossible", especially so last minute. Ashley gave me so much peace of mind, and her team kept gassing me up saying how much they loved my dress. Ashley made time for me and made me & my dress feel worth her time. Forever grateful for these amazing people!
This is incredibly long overdue! January 2021 my fiance and I decided we were going to elope and get married April 2021. I had a few weeks to find a dress and a few months to get it altered. I purchased a sample dress that was the exact design and style I had envisioned, except it was a little too big and there was a tear in the front. Love Sew True (which was formerly SewCalPros when I went) was recommended to me by the bridal salon. I looked at the reviews and noticed Genesis had altered dresses by the same brand - Made with Love - so I knew she would be able to work with the delicate lace. Getting a quote and making an appointment was so easy. Her husband Jay was very responsive over text and phone. When I met Genesis in person, it felt like I was talking to a good friend. They are both so personable and have great customer service. A few days before my second appointment, I found out my dog had terminal cancer and would have to be put down in a few days. I immediately contacted Jay to ask if I could reschedule my appointment, he was so kind and understanding. I ended up going just a few days later and they had a bouquet of flowers for me. Genesis listened to my concerns and wants. She was there to help me get my dress to fit my body as perfect as possible and she did a fantastic job. Genesis was also realistic and explained when things couldn't be done and I appreciated that. She's the expert - I have no idea how to alter a lace wedding dress, but she was able to tell me what could and couldn't be done. My dress was ready for me a little over a week before the wedding and it was perfect! I wish I could go back and see them again but unfortunately, they only alter wedding dresses. You cannot go wrong going here - I enjoyed my experience so much. You will not be disappointed!
I contacted Love Sew True on October 27th, 2023 and my wedding was on November 4th. I had been struggling because I no longer loved my wedding dress and felt like the alterations that I had done in Northern California were not right. It felt too big and just not like the dress that I loved so much just months before. When I showed up in tears with my dress everyone at LST was so patient and kind to me. They said that it would be tight but that they could help me in time for me wedding day. The dress had been altered but was still a full size and half too big on me. They handled it with care and it quickly became the dress that I loved again. Every penny spent (including the rush fee) was well worth it but I recommend starting at Love Sew True in order to have a more peaceful experience leading up to your big day. Could not recommend them enough.

My wedding was over 5 months ago and I am finally writing this review. I wanted to take the time to calm down before writing it. After reading what I have to say, I am sure that any bride-to-be can imagine just how upset I was with SewCalPros for almost ruining my wedding day. My hope is that this review will help prevent any future brides from making the same mistake I did by taking their wedding gown to SewCalPros for their alteration needs. They will overcharge you, lie to you, and potentially destroy your wedding dress. To this day, they still owe me $2,366.30. Just 36 hours before my husband and I were to fly out to our wedding destination, SewCalPros handed over a dress to me that was unwearable. The mistakes made by SewCalPros were many and easy to spot, even for an untrained eye. Not only were there many mistakes that occurred over the 10 weeks the dress was in their possession, the "final product" that was handed over to me on 11/18/2019 had openings along the lining's seam that were visible through the sheer top layer of the dress. My butt was literally visible through the top layer of the dress because of these openings. As upsetting as this huge gaff was, even more concerning was SewCalPros attempt to pass the dress off to me without disclosing this. In fact, the fitter told me I could "put my clothes back on" implying that I didn't need to try the dress on again because it was complete. Thankfully, I knew better based on the previous two fittings, and I put it on for a final fitting. Had I not, I would have had to walk down the aisle to my groom, exposing my butt to all of the guests in attendance. After being caught in their scheme, the alterations team stated "at this point there is nothing more we can do." This statement was especially upsetting because the staff of SewCalPros had repeatedly assured, promised even, to get the dress done by Monday. At one point, they convincingly said they would "work around the clock" to make sure my dress would be perfect for the wedding. When they failed to do so, I was extremely devastated. The staff further admitted wrongdoing and did refund all $1907.17 they had collected from me as payment for their "work". (At this point in time, they still owe me $250 refund for the PayPal deposit due to the refund not being properly executed.) Fortunately, I made it to David's Bridal in Costa Mesa by 8:30 PM, 30 minutes prior to store closing. With such a short time frame, the choices of possible wedding gowns were limited and there was absolutely no time for me to shop around and find a better deal. It had to be a dress that fit considerably well directly off the rack considering the very limited time for alterations. I found a gown that fit well around the waist and bust and only required alterations to the length and bustle. Unfortunately, just like the hurdles that came with buying a last minute gown, those last minute alterations required a rush fee and no chance to shop around for a better price. But for SewCalPros major alterations mistakes, lack of transparency and insistence that they could and would deliver me a wedding gown that would be perfect for my special day (I would have settled for wearable at that point), I would have been able to save money and stress. SewCalPros alteration shop is the direct cause of the expedited shopping trip for my wedding gown. Additionally, SewCalPros are directly responsible for rendering my original dress unwearable. They did not pay for the wedding dress that they destroyed, which cost $1623.79 to be exact. Due to the actions of SewCalPros and staff, I was put under a tremendous amount of emotional and financial stress. The financial burden specifically totals to $2,366.30 ($1623.79 for the original gown they destroyed, $250 for the PayPal deposit they never refunded, and $492.51 for the rush alteration fee I had no other choice but to pay). read more

I absolutely loved my dress because of Sewcalpros. They made me feel like a movie star! I had a Maggie Sottero dress that didn't do much for my shape. Ashley was able to cinch in my waist, change my straps to removable, and created a beautiful bustle! The dress also had an issue because of some boning sticking out and she took her time making sure it was fixed. She calmed any concerns I had and executed everything I wanted! She also might just be the sweetest person of all time. Jay and a genesis were also incredibly kind and attentive. I thought it was reasonably priced considering all the work they did, and they made my dress look 10 times for expensive than it actually was! Absolutely use them for your wedding dress! read more

Genesis with SewCalPros did an incredible job on my wedding dress!! She came to my home (which is amazing) for a total of 3 fittings. Each visit she was professional, friendly, and knew exactly what she was doing. She is easy to talk to, puts you at ease, and does a fast yet thourough job. Genesis was able to alter my dress 2 weeks before my wedding...Say what! Oh, and did I mention she comes to your home?! I would highly recommend Genesis at SoCalPros for your own alteration needs. Ashley is extremely talented and great at what she does, she's also so sweet and was fun to work with for a few months on my dress. I went in several times for fittings and previews and she was always kind, responsive and an expert in adjusting dresses. Omg.... LOVE Ashley and her team! I had a MASSIVE dress that needed to be taken in and hemmed. Soooooo many ruffles and 2-3 sizes too big. Ashley made me feel at ease through the whole entire process. I had several fittings because they wanted to make sure every little thing was perfect. And it WAS!! I always make fun of long, dramatic, reviews but here I go anyways. I know they are a pricier than other tailors but I was willing to pay because of their amazing reviews and before/after pictures. I tried to reach out to Sew Cal Pros to address my issues before posting this review and was super disappointed in their response. I had custom sleeves added which were around $200 and they came out terrible. They didn't look good, didn't even stay up during the short time I had them on for the fitting, and honestly they look like I made them myself. During the final fitting I asked if anything could be done about the sleeves falling off and she said no. I wasn't happy with the sleeves but was trying to be okay with it since it seemed like nothing else could be done and my wedding was around the corner. The day after my final fitting I realized they did not re-attach all of the buttons on the back of my dress. It still looked fine, I just wanted to let them know about the oversight. They offered to fix it but it wasn't worth the drive for me. I decided to reach out to them to let them know how upset I was about my sleeves. I told them they came out terrible and requested a refund for that portion. They said they would have Genesis get back to me. When Genesis emailed me, she went in to details about the buttons and offered a refund for the price that they would normally charge to do buttons. I thought this was weird, since I already stated the buttons were fine and was upset about my sleeves. Once I clarified the issue, she replied with a long email to basically say they did exactly what I requested. Yes, they did a cuff sleeve with the fabric I requested but it looked terrible. I feel like they were trying to brush me off by listing the technical specs of a cuff sleeve instead of addressing the final product. When I requested this sleeve in the first place, they didn't inform me of any possible issues/ concerns with the fit or fabric. I thought it was interesting she took my "after" picture before they attached the sleeves and did not take any pictures after they added the sleeves. When I was in the final fitting my sister pointed out to Genesis an issue with the hook and eye at the top of the zipper. Genesis said it was fine but then at the end of the fitting added another hook and eye below the original. She said she was doing this to make it more secure. I didn't try on my dress again after that fitting. Come to find out of my wedding day, the top hook and eye had been pulled too hard and instead of fixing/replacing it, she just added another one below it, blocking the zipper from being zipped all the way. I'm chunky, but this dress was way too big on top when I brought it in, so there's no reason I should be busting open hook and eyes during my fitting. I never received a reply after my last email replying to her list of technicalities. The buttons and the hook and eye issue were careless actions that shouldn't happen when I'm paying this much. The sleeves show a lack of pride. Business is business but if you aren't even happy with what you made and the customer isn't happy either, yet no solution is offered, what does that say about your pride in your work? Edit: I did not decline your recommendation about the sleeves as you did not make any. The only issue with the sleeve we discussed is that it might limit how far I can lift my arm. read more

SewCalPros were a great team to work with for wedding dress alterations. I actually bought my dress on the East Coast and was a little worried about finding an alteration place near L.A. but thankfully SewCalPros exceeded my expectations. Ashley did 2/3 fittings and was pleasant, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Genesis did my final fitting and she was full of energy and makes you feel wonderful. Additionally, Jay called before every appointment to make sure I was still able to come which is nice because as we all know life can get a little busy during wedding planning. I had to reschedule a few of my appointments because of COVID but it was very easy to find new times and dates that worked. I didn't have a lot of alterations completed because my dress fit pretty well, but I was extremely happy with the results. They took care of the hem, completed a french bustle (which was so easy for my MoH to do), sewed in cups, and added beads to my spaghetti straps. Overall, I would definitely recommend SewCalPros to any bride especially if you did not buy your dress locally! read more

You shouldn't go to anyone else but Genesis for wedding alterations. Everyone I talked to were JEALOUS that she came to my house for several appointments (ended up being 5) for alterations. Genesis has built a business that is a must for busy brides! She was AMAZING! Professional, helpful, patient, and always had a great attitude!!! Loved her vibes!! Her assistant Ashley is just as sweet and kind! Both are very professional and love what they do! It made the process a MILLION times better than any alterations appt I have had and with this being so important, they never took anything lightly. I did the premium package and I'm glad I did. I had no worries, could do some small customizations to make my dress fit me and my style and I got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS from my guests. It was PERFECT! Thank you Genesis and Ashley! read more

I was so stressed out looking for last minute alterations. I had a hand me down gown that was so very special and I knew I wanted to use it on my wedding day. It didn't fit which is every brides biggest nightmare but thankfully I found this amazing alteration company. They were able to add a corset back to the dress just to make it fit! The sleeves were ripped from the previous wear of the dress and they were able to fix it without damaging the material. This was all three weeks prior to our wedding. They definitely turned my dream into a reality. It was so beautiful and perfect. All the consultants that worked with me were amazing and extremely professional. I recommend SewCalPros to anyone in need of alterations. They can do it all to perfection! Genesis and her team are absolutely the BEST! After reading all of their stellar reviews, looking at all of the gorgeous dress transformations on their Instagram page, and seeing that they would come to my parent's house in Orange County for each of my fittings, I was sold and scheduled an appointment via text with Leah. During my first fitting with Genesis, the business owner, I tried my dress on and discussed my concerns, namely the lack of support that the dress provided for my "girls". Genesis reassured me that support would be achieved by raising the shoulders and taking in the waist (I had lost about 20 pounds since ordering my dress). My subsequent second, third and fourth fittings were with Ashley, and just as with Genesis, made me feel completely at ease and confident in her abilities. During each of my fittings I shared my concerns, and they were all but amended by my next fitting. Ashley even recommend a slight customization involving adding lace pieces that had been removed (and thoughtfully saved!) from the waist when the dress was taken in to bust area in order to provide me with some additional coverage that would make me feel more secure in the dress. This customization, as with all of the alterations that were made (taking the dress in, raising the hem, taking in the delicate sleeves, etc.) were done beautifully and tactfully so that they were not even visible. Between the skillful alterations, beautiful customization, ease and flexibility of scheduling, convenience of at-home fittings, awesome interactions with both Genesis and Ashley, and attention to details such as playing music during each at-home fitting and a congratulatory bottle of champagne at the last fitting, I wholeheartedly recommend Sew Cal Pros for all of your wedding dress alterations. I first found out about SewCalPros through Instagram and was amazed at their work. When it was time to altered my wedding dress, I knew there was no one else that I'd go to other then SewCalPros. From the initial communication to the first through last fitting, and even on my wedding day, SewCalPros has been there every step of the way to make sure my wedding dress was nothing less than 110%. Even though my dress was already custom-made, Genesis and her team made my dress feel even more spectacular than it already was. I definitely recommend the full body contouring for your dress. I am so happy I found Genesis. She did an amazing job with my dress. So many alterations were needed with my dress to fit my short petite body. I was very concern at first because I know my dress would have been hard to work on due to the many layers of the dress, but Genesis was able to make it happen. I met her in person at each fitting. If you are looking for someone to trust with your wedding gown, look no further. I was referred to the amazing ladies at sew cal pros by a friend who had her gown done by them. They are so professional and are absolutely incredible at their craft. Making the appointment was so easy and Leah was available to me if i had any questions. They come directly to you for your first fitting which is so nice. Ashley came to my house and she was so sweet and knowledgeable, she made me feel so comfortable and I never once questioned my decision to trust them with my beautiful dress. They added straps to my dress and it blended in to nicely you would have thought they came on it, my dress was literally perfectly fit to my body, I couldn't believe how good I looked in it. Genesis and her team are amazing! I was super worried about getting my dress altered after hearing numerous horror stories of what could go wrong. I just spent a lot of money on the dress and had to really trust whoever I was going to hand it over to. I did a lot of research and came across SewCalPros. The process was amazingly easy and pretty fast considering all the work I needed done on my dress. From the first contact with sewcalpros I knew I was in good hands. Their customer service was prompt and professional. I booked my first appointment for which Genesis came to my house to do the fitting. Genesis is very professional, kind, and obviously has a passion for bridal gowns. I was having a lot of work done to my dress so I did have to have a few separate fittings but they came to my house for each one. I had the waist taken in, bra cups sewn in, the straps shortened, a bustle put in and the dress was hemmed. Every appointment went very well and was a pleasure to work with Genesis and her team. The end result was better than I could have expected. I had a choreographed dance routine for my first dance and I was worried about having a dress with such a long train and how the bustling would work out. SewCalPros did an amazing job creating a bustle that matched the style of the dress and made it easy to dance in. The hem was the perfect length and the bust of the dress definitely accentuated my assets. As a big girl I was terrified that my very sheer back of the dress would show off my back fat and I worried for literally months waiting for the dress to come in. Luckily for me the way they altered the back was very flattering. Being plus sized I was also worried they would be rude or not interested in my dress but everyone I worked with was so nice and complimentary I felt completely comfortable with them. They were very clear from the beginning how much it would cost and what would be added onto that cost. They also did offer day of service to help out on my wedding dress with steaming and prepping the dress but I declined the service and didn't feel like they were pushy at all about this service. I would highly recommend them to any bride looking to have her dress altered in anyway. You can trust them to do a good job with your dress. read more

I'm so blessed I was able to find SewCalPros, Genesis and her team are AMAZING. She listened to what I wanted and honestly gave me the dress of my dreams. She made me feel so comfortable and honestly made sure I was getting what I wanted. I will post before and after pictures of my dress. My dress honestly was big on my body and needed some work and Genesis did just that. She made me feel like a queen on my wedding day. Came to Sew Cal Pros for my wedding dress alterations, custom veil and steaming services (they do everything here!) and was so happy with everything. My sister came here for her wedding dress alterations so I knew I was going to be in good hands. I had my alteration appointments with Genesis and she made my dress fit like a glove with body contouring, a perfect hem and beautiful bustle. I also had my veil custom made, which ended up being SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the veil I was offered from where I bought my dress!! If you haven't bought your veil yet, definitely have a custom made one from here. My only advice is to make your appointment far in advanced because they get booked very fast- which is understandable because there is no wedding dress alteration store like this one. My dress didn't need much done to it, but what they did do, they did an AMAZING job at. My dress fit perfectly! Leah came the day of. She was super friendly and helpful! She steamed my dress, helped me into my dress, made sure everything looked perfect, she even helped put my veil on for me, and she showed my bridesmaids how to do my bustle so that when the time came, they knew what they were doing. I couldn't thank Genesis and sewcalpros team enough! I was quoted so much from Mon Amie on alterations (almost as much as my dress) that I was so worried I wasn't able to alter my dress the way I wanted. After quoting with 4-5 companies, I found that sew cal pros was extremely price competitive AND came to your house which worked for my schedule so I went with them. Genesis was only supposed to meet w me 3x but due to my dress being too tight even after we let it out she had to come 4x (we had to remove a whole inside layer) and there was no extra charge and she was more than happy to come back until I was happy. She made me feel so comfortable like we were girlfriends! I've recommended them to all my bride friends! Still obsessed with my dress and couldn't thank them enough for making my dress fit like a glove. read more

Genesis is a miracle worker! I cannot stop singing her praises to all of my friends and family. I was in town for the holidays and needed someone to alter my wedding dress within a 10 day period. I called Genesis in a panic at 9:30am the Monday before Christmas. She was at my house by noon that same day, and my dress was done by Friday morning! Genesis hemmed my dress, completely rebuilt the bodice (which is covered in beads and sequins), added bra cups and created a beautiful 3 point bustle. I am amazed with her skillfullness and I am thrilled with how my dress turned out! No complaints at all. Amazing experience from start to finish with Genesis altering my wedding dress! I took my dress to SewCalPros after reading one horror story after another about other alterations shops ruining wedding dresses. Even though Genesis's services are on the pricier end, it is completely worth it to pay a little extra for complete trust and an expert hand with such an important item. Genesis tightened up my dress so that it fit me perfectly, and added buttons so I could bustle it. I loved the dress online but didn't love how it looked on me until she fixed it up. It really made all the difference! The whole experience was smooth and easy, and Genesis is so kind and calm. I loved wearing my wedding dress on the big day, thanks to Genesis! read more

My experience with SewCalPros, from start to finish, was AMAZING. I was able to text my info, wedding date, photos of the dress, photos of me IN the dress, and get a quote quickly! Expect pricing to be expensive (but competitive - everything relating to weddings are expensive!) but she has the added convenience of coming to YOU for all the fittings included in the price, with the next appointment scheduled at the end of your current (I can't tell you how extremely convenient that was for busy people). AND she was done as promised within a month from start to finish (I scheduled my dress to be completed a month before the wedding, but if you have the time I'd consider even doing it 2 weeks before the wedding). Long overdue shoutout to Genesis who worked on my dress back in Nov 2017. I was worried that my dress would not look the same once it was severely shortened (I'm about 5'4" with mid-height heels), but a lot of these yelp reviews -with photos!- helped immensely. So grateful for your help - you definitely made my dress fit like a dream and made it so convenient (especially when wedding planning is already its own beast)!! Just a note - she only works exclusively on wedding dresses and doesn't do other items. Maybe I'll have to find an excuse for an anniversary party!! read more
