The price is reasonable, but the portions are bigger than most places and the taste was great. The waitress was very nice and I believe she was the owner. I didn't particularly care for this place. Too americanized, way too much mayonnaise-y sauce saturating the rolls and making me gag! Lots of deep frying, etc, not for a traditional sushi lover. There is another restaurant across the street and one in the adjoining mall, which are sushi bars and both are better choices. Only going based off of the food my wife ordered from this place. She ordered a California roll and a shrimp tempura roll I believe. They were both just awful! Don't understand how they could mess up a Cali roll but somehow they did. Was the worst Cali roll I've tasted in my life. The mushy ones from the grocery store taste better! If I could give a minus 1 star I would. The fish didn't taste fresh and had a tinny taste. I told the sushi chef and he said "no problem fish fresh." We ordered the spicy salmon roll and snow roll...both awful. The smoked salmon and yellowtail tasted bad and smelled awful. I wish Ventura had grades like Los Angeles. It left the worst taste in our mouth. The only thing that was good was garlic edemame. The tempura was also not edible. Tasted like bad grease. Not even 1 hour after getting home we were both throwing up. NEVER AGAIN! Should've known better...only 2 people in the whole place during busy time of day. Fresh and good sushi. Many items to choose from. They have sushi bar, tables and booths. Staff friendly. Location in mini mall with much parking. The Simi and Moorpark locations are good but the Moorpark location far surpasses the Simi location with their friendlier service, energy, staff and you get more for your money at Moorpark and they have better specials! You'll see right away when you try each one. We prefer Moorpark location and settle with Simi location when we don't want to drive or it's late. Minus one star for atmosphere, food quantity vs price and specials compared to Moorpark's location. Go to Moorpark for the fun and specials. Simi is still yummy and nice enough. read more

We have been coming to Love Sushi in Simi Valley for years and we LOVE it!!! We live in the San Fernando Valley and don't like to drive too far for dinner, but this is SO worth the drive! The fish is always fresh and the rolls are big and delicious! We often come during happy hour so the deals are even better. My first experience with love sushi was in Valencia. It was by far the best sushi I had ever eaten and the service was good too. Of course when Love opened two more restaurants in Moorpark and Simi I just had to try them out. The service at Love Sushi in Simi was fantastic. I went for my birthday and made reservations ahead of time. They tied balloons to the chairs where we sat! Very nice. It took us a while to decide on our order since we were a rather large group. The staff waited patiently until we were ready. After ordering, our food arrived promptly. There were no mistakes and the waitress followed up periodically to make sure we were doing fine. Everything tasted so fresh and the servings were ample. The slices of fish were big with the perfect amount of rice and the rolls were huge. Everyone in our party was so pleased. The staff also sang happy birthday, even the chefs, and they brought us all ice cream. Great food. Great experience. I love Love Sushi. read more

They will turn it down a notch usually, but it is so odd. When Love first opened in Simi, I loved it. I went there almost every week. Recently when I went, the fish didn't taste all that fresh. Perhaps it was an off day for them. The last time I was there, I ordered the Jin's Roll. It didn't smell right from the beginning. I hate about half of it and was starting to feel really ill.
