Ordered delivery from here recently and the pizza wasn't my favorite. Thick crust, no crunch, too doughy and salty for me. We ordered two personal pizzas. I do however like they have this option on their menu. Lots of speciality pies to choose from that all sounded really good. We got the veggie lovers personal pie and the basil chicken personal pie. When I called to place the delivery order, the guy on the phone was pretty cold and impatient. At the end of the phone call he just said, see you soon and hung up. That gave me no indication of how long the delivery was going to take. I wanted to jump in the shower but didn't want them to come while I was in there so I was kind of waiting around for the buzzer to go off. An hour and 15 minutes later, they were here. I thought that was a fairly long time to wait for delivery. The total came to $21. The personal pizzas are perfect for one, they come cut in 4's. The veggie lovers pizza had mushrooms that were too chew for me, broccoli, tomatoes, mozzarella, provolone, spinach and an olive oil and garlic base. As mentioned earlier, the crust was fluffy, chewy and thick and I really prefer thin and crunchy. That's a personal opinion though and the person joining me really enjoyed their pizza. I thought the crust and cheese were REALLY salty too. The basil chicken wasn't enjoyed by either of us. We had our choice between sweet or spicy peppers. We went with the spicy but they hardly had a kick. I didn't enjoy the seasoning on the chicken and the flavors just didn't work well for me. I might try this place again but get a personal pizza with red sauce instead. Perhaps it was the olive oil and garlic base that I wasn't enjoying. read more

Was working late and couldn't get out to grab dinner so we figured we'd try a new place. I will admit the person taking our order was not the best. We had to ask how much our total would be (note, they add $2 to your bill if you pay with credit card instead of cash) and they didn't tell us how long it would be for the delivery. All was forgotten once our food arrived. we had ordered a small Yum Yum Pizza which was indeed yum yum. Even though it's a "small" pizza, it was more than enough food for the two of us. We also ordered some fries which were unremarkable but the sauce they provided was like a spicy ranch which was quite tasty and saved the fries. Definitely will consider ordering from here in the future. read more

So... I've been going back and forth with posting this review because I have mixed feelings at this time so I will just give my input good and bad.. My co workers and I recently started going to Lovejoy Pizza, my first order was a chicken finger sub and it was amazing. I'm unable to carry a phone with me at work so I was unable to take any pics of it. Based on how good the sub was I decided to order again, this time I ordered a steak taco with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, mild sauce and sour cream. When I say this taco was AMAZING!! It was AMAZING!! I raved and raved about how great it was that my co workers ordered them a few days later and loved it. For the last 3 weeks I have been ordering the same taco every week and I had no disappointments. This week is a whole new ball game. Yesterday I ordered my taco the same exact way that I've been ordering it these last few weeks and it was THE WORST TACO ever. I opened the foil and nothing but greases came out, there was so much grease that the taco shell was orange and soggy. I tell myself this can be over looked if I just woof it all down in 1 sitting and not have any leftover. Well that was wrong, I bite into the taco and all I could taste was burnt meat. So the Shell was soggy and full of grease, the meat was burnt, they didn't add cheese or sour cream and it was a complete fail. I didn't even attempt to eat anymore of it and called Lovejoy. I spoke to the guy who answered the phone (I believe he was the same guy who cashed me out) I told him how often I get the tacos and I'm not a complainer but the taco was absolutely HORRIBLE. He takes down my name and number and says I can come in to get a replacement taco anytime. Ok, cool, great!! He was very polite and provided great customer service. So, today I call to re-order the taco because I NEED my taco fix only to be disappointed again. The taco shell wasn't full of grease but the meat taste burnt again. I don't know if they have a new cook or if they are just having a rough week but I'm completely over it. I should've known it wouldn't last too long because I actually enjoyed it. Not sure if I will return again due to being disappointed two days in a row. I didn't call and complain today but I'm sure I will just take my business else where. read more

I have long been telling myself I want to try various pizza joints across the city (not suburbs) to find one that can be my favorite. So yesterday when I was craving pizza, I wanted to try something new and begin my quest. Upon searching Yelp, I stumbled upon Lovejoy Pizza, and saw that it had some good reviews. One of the things I really like is that they have personal pizzas. I don't like getting individual slices, because you never know how old they are, and therefore I don't feel like it is a good representation of their pizza when it's not hot out of the oven, because let's be honest, that's the product they are most focused on. So my boyfriend and I ordered two personal pizzas for pick up. Something I really like about it here is that you can "customize" the crust free of charge. I really wanted a cheese and pepperoni pizza, but I also wanted some garlic, so I asked for some garlic baked into the pizza dough. My boyfriend loves spicy food, so he got crushed red pepper baked into his crust (he just plain cheese). I really liked this because A) it's free, and B) It helps you jazz up the pizza! When I was inside getting the pizza, the workers were very friendly and were asking me how I was, and I told them about how I discovered them, and they seemed pleased and told me that they hope I enjoy it. I like that they actually cared! Now for the pizza: Overall, delicious. Not too much cheese, not too doughy. The crust had a nice consistency (not too chewy and not too crunchy), and had a ton of flavor, which I assume was because of the garlic. It was pretty greasy, which isn't necessarily bad, but I know the boyfriend isn't a huge fan, and I saw him dabbing off some of the grease. This is definitely a place to check out, as it totally surpasses a lot of pizza I've had in Buffalo. Is it the best in the city? Who knows! But it's the best I've had in a long time! read more

YES! lovejoy You've got it right! Its so refreshing to walk into a pizza joint with not only great food but great customer service! This was my first time ordering from this place and it was great. Got a sheet pizza and a bucket(50) of wings for right around 50 bucks which is a great price. The wings were cooked and flavored perfectly the BBQ were grilled to perfection. The pizza was thin crust and great. The employees there are amazing! they even offered to carry my food out to my car for me, when I declined they had to at least open the doors for me! The staff is always super friendly and fast. They add a substantial amount of cheese to their pizza which I love. I'd suggest trying their honey Sriracha wings if you haven't. I don't like anything spicy but these wings are my favorite. Hands down my favorite pizza and wings in Buffalo. read more

Stopped at a hotel and needed somewhere close by to get some food. Finally decided on pizza and then found this place. We glanced over the menu and decided on the signature hot stuffed pepper pizza. The service was great and delivery was fast for the bad weather conditions. The pizza got here and smelled great the second it was delivered. Brought the pizza back to the room and dug in. The cheese blend on this pizza is one of the best I've ever had and the crust was nice and thick. Pretty good. I like the personal size. I ordered the ultimate veggie and a Greek salad. Not a lot of sauce on the pizza but thicker crust, which I like. The salad was huge! When I ordered a pizza and wings, I was told it would be delivered in "less than an hour". At 70 mins, I called to see if there was a problem. I was told it would be there in "a few minutes". It didn't arrive until an hour and a half after I ordered. I wasn't impressed by the pizza, but it might have been better when it was warmer. read more

The best thing regarding this place was that the food was delivered hot. Was excited to try stuffed jalapeño pizza listed under the specials until I ate it. The peppers were individually stuffed sort of like what one would expect from stuffed mushrooms . It was written well "sounding" better than it tasted. Also ordered the wings from the pit.... These should have been called chicken fingers nothing impressive. Blue cheese was not from scratch but rather bought in bulk/pre packaged cup. Delivery guy was nice but the 2 dollar delivery charge pisses me off,even more so from small businesses. Ordered a three cheese steak pizza and deep fried mushroom, took 40 mins. Service was ok. The mushrooms were great, hot and fresh, just the pizza was really disappointing. it was a 9" personal pizza, quite expensive but any slice of pepperoni and cheese would taste better than this. I don't typically write reviews for pizza places. I'm from NYC and pizza tends to be on every block. But this place is honestly exceptional. Delicious pizza ingredients and great service. I had some slices delivered down the block, with a customized letter, and it arrived not only on time but early. The guy who took my order was nice, efficient, and has super nice handwriting (I was told). Things did not go as planned with pick-up time on my part, but the delivery guy waited. Lovejoy Pizza is the best! They Consistently deliver hot, delicious food, and are my go-to place to order from during Bills games. The pizza dough is delicious with perfectly cooked crust, and the small, spicy pepperoni is always crispy. My favorite are the BBQ chicken fingers which come piping hot coated in delicious smoky bbq sauce and a side of French fries. Their turkey club sub is also excellent with plenty of bacon and high quality sub roll (probably Costanzos). Lovejoy is highly recommended and should be considered next time you're ordering delivery. read more

Subs are great, pizza is good Buffalo style, wings are good. I would frequently order lunch from here on Friday's while at work. Never have eaten something from here I didn't like. The location is convenient right downtown. Wish I still worked near here so I could keep ordering food. The Davey St. sub is incredible, meatballs, gravy and melted cheese. Also the Love Joy St, with chicken fingers stuffed hot peppers and cheese is a great option. If you want a change from normal hot wings they have a couple nice flavor options. Long time ago on the East side there was Bocce's and Lovejoy Pizza and all the wannabees. Bocce's has gone by the wayside (Imperial is trying but still not there) but Lovejoy has remained as THE best pizza on Buffalo's east side. Outstanding quality. I was at a compition with my daughter and her friends at Canisius college. Needless to say after a long morning they were starving! Called and ordered lg pizza, 30 wings and garlic breads. I was totally stoked when I was told it would be ready in 20 min. When I got there my food was done and piping hot. Wings at Lovejoy were perfect! We ordered medium. They were perfectly sauced and crispy, something I have a hard time finding here in the city. Pizza was good and crust was well cooked. Garlic bread was a treat..Gooey with cheese and garlic! We ordered from Lovejoy from a recommendation of a family member. We ordered the large stuffed banana pepper pizza and 20 wings hot. The delivery time was on time. Anthony, the owner, delivered it and was very personable at delivery. He seemed very passionate and cared about the quality of his food. Well he should be proud because the pizza was excellent! I typically like the thin NY style, but I always enjoy the thick pizza also. This isn't TOO thick, but it has a good thickness and at the same time is light anf fluffy. The banana peppers are made whole and sliced up for the toppings. The hot wings were a good level of hot, with fall off the bone type chicken and had a lot of flavor. I absolutely would order from here again and look forward to trying the different styles of pizza they have to offer! But I highly recommend the stuffed banana pepper pizza..I believe it was called "The Big Johns" if I'm not mistaken. read more

Working Downtown it was hard to find a really good pizza place that delivers anytime of the day. Owning our business on Main street for over 30 years we have seen many come and go. Lovejoy pizza we hope is here to stay. The owner Anthony is very hands on and when he says his ingredients are the best they really are. His crust is just right , homemade sauce very good. Homemade sausage on his YUM YUM pizza or sub excellent. In addition to his traditional cheese and pepperoni, he makes a variety of specialty pizzas including a stuffed hot pepper pizza, What's not to love about that. They really go out of their way and it shows. SO GOOD!!! They do take a little longer to deliver but it is well worth it. Or pick up and say hi to Anthony. read more

Like every other Buffalonian, I have my own favorite pizza places. For me, it's usually La Nova on W Ferry, and maybe occasionally Imperial Pizza. But we tried this one tonight for the first time, takeout, and I have to say....it won't be our last time. Classic Buffalo pizza, very cheesy, nice greasy crispy pepperoni. Just how we liked it. I drive by here all the time. I was looking forward to eating here for months. I thought I ate at the Lovejoy location as a kid. Tried the two slice with a drink special. I saw a bunch of slices in the display. It was 2 PM and I thought at the most, they made the pizza for the lunch crowd. I asked the clerk for two of the freshest he the display box. The clerk took the slices out of the display and appeared to heat them up. I was wrong, perhap the gas was off in the oven. I can still feel the WARM greasy, gooey piece of yuck in my mouth. I would swear that I received day old, fresh out of the frig pizza. Remember these words, keep driving it's a big city full of pizza joints. Any other will be better than this one. read more

One of the best local places for Wings and Pizza in the Cheektowaga area. I prefer the hot-bbq wings. Pizza is terrific. As long as you aren't ordering anything but wings and pizza, lovejoy pizza is a small but iconic pizzeria with awesome food. read more
