The vibe is real bad! The second time I tired them won't be back..... I always bring my own POLISH and this time the guy (young one) was laughing and making fun of me for it- and not in a funny way! I can def take some Humor... the. He was literally messing with me like he couldn't understand what I was saying but HE DID. Despite calling ahead and making an appointment, and being one of the only customers inside, as soon as I declined the update to the deluxe pedi it felt immediately like the manager decided to do a rush job and get me out. The good news was I was a walk-in and I was able to get a manicure without waiting. But then... I asked for dipping nails. The tech (who was the manager? The owner? Let's just say by her 'bossiness' toward other employees, she was the "person in charge") proceeded to remove my existing dip-nails with cuticle clippers -- no soaking first! After the 3rd one came off, I pulled my hand away and said, "don't you need to soak these first?" She audibly sighed and poured some nail polish remover into a glass bowl and set it in front of me. Every other salon I've been to wraps each nail individually with soaked cotton and foil. While my fingers soaked in the bowl, she sat in the chair and actually looked annoyed. Another customer came in and wanted a mani-pedi. My tech got up from the chair and led the woman to a spa chair. I took the opportunity to gently peel off my old my nails while keeping them immersed in the acetone. Meanwhile, my tech returns. I hold out my hands to show her that my nails are now free of any residue (including a missing layer or two of my nails on three fingers she damaged with the clippers). She sits down, retrieves the large bottle of nail polish remover, removes its cap, and proceeds to pour the contents of the bowl back into the bottle for reuse, gooey nail residue and all. Omg. She must've noticed the shock registered on my face. Suddenly she decided to do the new customer's mani-pedi and asked another tech to do my nails -- which in itself seemed unprofessional to abandon me, yet honestly, I was relieved! I then was made to get up from my chair and move to another tech's station (whose son sat in the chair next to her the entire time, playing with an iPhone). I usually check reviews first, but neglected to this time . While my daughter and I were served quickly, that's where the good (for me) stopped. There was minimal massage with my services and then the nail tech had a terrible time with my color choice. Instead of asking me to get a new color, or add thinner to the polish, she continued to paint it on. The finished product looked nice, but when I went to put my shoes on, and testing whether it was dry it smudged. It wasn't a big deal (and not one worth complaining about). Apparently the polish was too old and should probably be tossed. Then, when I got into the car, I barely touched the other foot and the polish all but rubbed all the way off. I'm now sitting in the parking lot of KMart taking off the rest of the polish so I can just put my shoes on and go about my vacation. Tip: keep the pedicure to a buffed finish. My daughter has a sweet little pedi and her polish is fine. Post pedicure day one and I'm now down to one star for the toe that bled from aggressive filing. It's one thing to file/buff/clip close to where it's a sensitive spot. It's another thing to not acknowledge that you've actually cut the skin (which ALL other salons I've been been to have done). I think a salon revamp and staff training would benefit this place a lot. read more

This was quite possibly the best manicure and pedicure I've ever gotten. I had Gigi and not only was she so kind and hilarious, she was an incredibly skilled nail tech. As with all businesses, this can be an entirely different review all dependent on the tech you get here. After the remodel a little over a year ago, this is now a far more esthetically pleasing salon to visit but at this point it would really benefit from a good cleaning. I like all of the herbal concoction pedis they now offer here and their prices are reasonable. What I really don't particularly like here is the older and louder (as in I am NOT interested in hearing every minute detail of your thoughts on having your tech be your surrogate baby mama, the actresses you emulate and your love life broadcast for the whole salon to hear - one gentleman(?) in particular multiple times, in addition to many others with bizarre and kooky boasting,longings and requests). I guess just consider the location and the number of pan handlers mulling around and question if the clientele has taken their daily meds. Hit or miss here and from now on I will be going to their hipper younger sister location, Key West Nail Lounge. read more

By far WORST manicure I've had in my life. I was very clear in the beginning, that when I get a fill, I do NOT want thick nails. I also reminded my technician mid-way. My nails were finished and I was SOOOO unhappy so I made him take it all off and just put a layer of clear. Still had to pay $35 and still walked out Unhappy. The second I left, I needed to go over all my nails and peel off all the excess gel they left on my skin. Was a nightmare. Practically all the sides peeled off anyways. They did a good job on the pedicure but I know, that it's VERY UNSANITARY. They use the same tools on everyone. They don't clean the tubs. They don't use gloves. The words "What a Dump" was written for this hole. It was dirty and the furnishings were old and worn. A slovenly person sat at the front desk and she failed to acknowledge me or invite me to sit down. There were three young children in the waiting area, yelling, screaming and running around. Headache city and the furthest thing I wanted after work, was noisy children at the nail salon. Apparently, they belonged to a worker who had no control over them. When I finally got to a "manicurist" (I use this term lightly), I was even more disappointed. The polish color I chose turned out to be very, very old. She stuck remover into it and then tried to put it on my nails. It went on streaky, just like you would expect old polish mixed with remover to be. She did two nails before I objected. She asked me to choose another color, which I did and she used the polish remover on the two nails that she had done with the old stuff. Then, WITHOUT allowing me to wash the polish remover off, she began using the new polish. When I opbjected, she did not understand and I did the best thing you could do at this dump. I just walked out and got a good manicure at another nail salon, close by. read more

Overall, the gentleman who did my pedicure was efficient and polite enough. The problem started when he and the Hispanic lady technician right next to us started arguing with each other. She threw towels at him and was yelling at him in Spanish (which I understood but did NOT acknowledge for fear of retribution from my technician) and he threw the towels back at her and was yelling at her in Vietnamese (no I did NOT understand a word he said but his volume, tone and lack of attentiveness to the fact that he had clippers in his hand by my feet was enough for me to conclude that he was angry). By the way, the Hispanic lady was probably right in her accusations and anger but I'm not refereeing this round. I think that their grievances should had been aired in private. This lasted for about three minutes all while I was sitting in the chair, rollers going awry on my back from the massage chair, man with sharp instruments tugging at my toenails-yelling, other clients looking at us trying to share sympathetic eyes with me, as I sat in my seat trying to act casual and relaxed. Ugh! The saga continued as the Hispanic lady commenced to yell at her son, yes in Spanish, "to sweep up and throw that s$@! away!" Now I know that it's summertime and that school is out, but for pete's sake, could this young, pudgy, eightish year-old sweet thing not be hiding in the back of the salon, snacking and playing on some electronic gadget instead of sweeping customers' toenails up into a dust pan? Just saying... Soon after, a lady who I presumed to be the owner, walked by us, chatted with my technician in V, picked up the towels strewn about the floor or wedged between my chair and the Hispanic lady's work chair and walked away. Enough said-the total cost $43 with tip. NOT going back. Hope that sweet little boy gets a break soon. read more

I don't know how anyone can write a bad review about this Solon. It is the most relaxing and loving place anyone can go and know they can be their self. The staff is extremely overwhelmingly friendly they make you feel like your not just a customer but family. They know their work you tell them what you want done and you are leaving extremely happy.
