We dined at Loveria tonight. I called in advance to inquire if they had a corkage policy and they strongly discourage guests bringing in wines and corkage is $35/bottle. That's fine, but their wine list is not that impressive to discourage bringing in bottles. Ordered Bruschetta and brussels sprouts for appetizer. Bruschetta was good, but the brussels sprouts should be removed from the menu until they learn how to properly prepare them. They were hard, bitter tasting with no flavors or spices involved. The entrees took a long time to come out of the kitchen. The entrees were pretty good, but our service/waiter completely disappeared without checking back, so service suffered after that. We would love to give Loveria more stars, but we were really disappointed in the experience. First the good. The food and the ambience. The bread is soft and warm. The vegetarian bruschetta is perfectly balanced. The spaghetti pomodorro was like mom used to make. But it took us over two hours to have dinner. We had to order multiple times because our waitress didn't know the kitchen was out of certain items. No one apologized for being ignored and having to flag down any random employee to help us. And in case your wondering, we were not the only ones experiencing this chaos. We were so excited to come and would love for this to be our go-to Italian but the service has to improve. read more

Something the Mid-Cities desperately needed was a boujee, refreshed Italian joint. There are so many small BYOB classic Italian places, I was legit worried the old flavors of Italy would all come here to die. Thank god, Loveria came in to prove me wrong. This fresh space with clean lines and pleasing colors serves updated Italian food that is imaginative and outside the box, yet true to the dishes they originally came from. The menu provides something for everyone and each dish is packed with it's own great flavor. Seriously, some amazing Italian food. The wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable and quick. However, be prepared to wait if you don't have a reservation (especially if you have a larger group). The service was very slow, such that we waited about 30 minutes for a cheese plate and were there over 2 hours and elected not to order our entree. For a Friday night, and for not being very busy at all, this was surprising. Your manager spent most of his time talking with one table and could care less about our experience even after we said it was our first time. You would think first impressions are important and the goal would be to earn repeat business. You claim to have an excellent wine list, however, no one could offer suggestions other than read off the menu and mention what other customers order. Wine was excellent but pricey for a place with plastic table and chairs. Sort of an interesting mix of expensive dinner and wine in a somewhat lackluster building with pretty generic interior. We had a four top for two and it was two tables pushed together without white linens. Not that I needed white linen per se, but a place with $300 wine on the menu is somewhat incongruent with plastic outdoor tables. All that said, the meal was good. I had high hopes as a vegan coming here for a restaurant that accommodates everyone. We were the only table in the restaurant and somehow still had bad/slow service. We tried many dishes on the menu since it was our first time and we found the food flavorful, interesting, really delicious. We can try things you are not used to have here. My husband ordered the gnocchi with Gorgonzola cream sauce- light with flavors that do not over power the palate. Yesterday, our neighbors invited us to an "authentic" Italian restaurant. Experience has taught me that the words "authentic" followed by any "Proper Noun" should not be allowed to live in the same sentence, at least where my wife and I tend to dine. Just because the staff may be wearing sombreros or French berets, does not mean you will soon be enjoying original Mexican or French cuisine. So, we accepted the invite with, shall we say, appropriate levels of expectation. Just ten minutes from our home in Southlake we arrived at our destination, Loveria Caffè. My preconceived thoughts were that this was going to be someplace that had more of an Italian Cafe feel to it, hopefully, steeped in the aromas of roasting coffee beans. Instead, inside of the entrance was a bright red Vespa, the likes of which typically are found, in swarms, marauding the streets of Rome. So, I'm thinking that's a nice touch, but still a long way from "authentic." My wife and I are pointed to our table by friendly staff where our friends greet us and we settle in for a Sunday dinner. Our waitress is very polite and accommodating, but I see through her valiant attempts at "R" rolling with little effort. Next, I begin to inspect the menu. Hmm, Antipasti, Insalate, Primi, Scondi, Bamini, Contorni, Vino, Doci. Ok, someone knows how to use Google Translate, I'm kinda impressed. Next, we start out with a little Bruschetta Mista and Mozzarella Fritta, the later, I'm kinda think'n is a little Americanized, kinda like Domino's Pizza. The cameriera let us test a couple different wines and we settled on a bottle of Barberani Foresco, a nice and soft red that favors fruit and spices, to kick things off. At this point, the waitress suggested that we try the chef's Lasagna special, straight from his grandmother's kitchen, near the Adriatic Sea in a little city called Ravenna. Well, I had heard enough. It was time to knock the dew off the lily and see if this place was legit. "Mama can't be wrong," I told the waitress, "I'll have the lasagna." The telling. The Bruschetta...mama Mia! Instantly, I was transported back to a little village near Rocca di Papa, that last time I had occasion to enjoy such "authentic" Italian food. Shortly, Mama's Lasagna followed. The pasta...cooked to perfection. Mama's secret sauce, fantastico! After the meal, Chef Michele came to our table and spoke with us. By then, his family was being served their dinner, at the table across from ours. It is ALWAYS a good sign when you see the chef's family eating dinner where the customer's meals are prepared. Loveria is in the same parking lot as the movie theater but on the side facing the theater, not the highway so you will not likely see this place if your driving past but it's very easy to spot once your in the parking lot. We went right before Covid with a group of 7 women for a moms night out. We ordered several dishes and all shared the food (ahhh, pre covid fun) All the food was tasty and we enjoyed it all, we all felt we would come back but i do think my husband would leave a bit hungry, the serving sizes could be a little bigger for the price or perhaps free bread. As an Italian-American, I KNOW Italian food. Loveria is in a great location in Colleyville. The atmosphere is very inviting and EVERYTHING (light fixtures, furniture, etc) is imported from Italy. All the food is fresh and from local sources and the pasta is homemade. I had the lasagna. It was just as good if not better than my Uncle Al's back in NYC. My youngest son completely finished his dish, which was pretty generous for a 4 year old! The desserts (yes, we ordered one of each) were excellent! Their menu tonight was a scaled down soft opening version so I managed to taste most of the items. Simply outstanding! Keep in mind that the owners are from Northern Italy; their Bolognese sauce and pesto are excellent! Looking forward to the full menu and we will be back many times over! read more

I came here with my girlfriend looking for good Italian food. First hand from the outside we were actually already excited. It look very intimate, romantic and chill. As soon as we open the door the excitement began to slowly diminish. The ambience as nice but really loud. The space is relatively small but super comfortable I must say. Same with the menu. Easy to the eye, not complicated. My girlfriend order scallops and risotto. I order lobster ravioli. There were no excitement in the dishes whatsoever in my personal opinion. I rather have a chef boyardee ravioli and be definitely more satisfied. Way too al dente lack of flavor and I will dare to say the lobster was from a can. The risotto just ok. Now I MUST say they delicious selection of wine, A+. Staff is excellent. Super knowledgeable, prompt and friendly. Our server was epic and I wish I could remember his name but I don't. Quite frankly he made our experience outstanding! Overall and again this is just my very personal opinion. Food wise didn't work for us. Service, ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! I am really having difficulty seeing how people have given this place 5 stars! Food very generic at best. Authentic Italian food, no way. Pasta was just ok at best. Try Sprezza downtown, or Mille Libre downtown as well, not amazing either but much better Italian food. The cacio e pepe was average. The gnocchi with red sauce was better, but nothing to warrent 5 stars! Honestly I have made better fresh pasta at home. And finally we had the cannoli, again nothing to ride home about. We only had to wait about 10 minutes in a cozy little seating area upfront. Thus far we've tried the lemon chicken dish, the pesto dish, the tortellini dish, the lasagna and eggplant parmigiana dish. Mind you, these are not the exact titles of the entrees but you can find them based on the description provided. EVERY SINGLE ITEM WAS ABSOLUTELY SUPERB! I was so happy to see a new place in Colleyville, that is hip, fine dining and great service! The owner is Italian and will walk over and say hello to you and answer any questions you have. My wife and I have been coming here regularly since it opened. The food is always great. However, the last few times we've been, the service has been, I hate to say it, horrible. The last time we attended, we didn't get our drinks for about 15 or 20 minutes. Even after they brought the bread, we still didn't have water. Then when server brought water and drinks, it was only for half the table. We took some guests, and the server got both of their orders wrong. This creates an awkward situation where you have your hot food, and then the other people have nothing and server goes back to the kitchen and they start cooking two more entrées. It's just not a good experience. We don't get to have supper TOGETHER. What makes it even worse is that the manager/owner was sitting two tables over drinking wine with his friends and having a good time while we're having a bad time. No apologies. Nothing comped for the mistakes. And they added 20% gratuity because we had 6 people. Sadly, we won't be back again. We have recommended this place to about 50 people. Not anymore. read more

All italian wines hand picked by the owners from seven suppliers. The food was perfect and service was very friendly. Nice to see there still is still old school restaurants around.
