Located in beautiful Pacific Grove, this inn is approximately 30 steps from the beach. You're surrounded by cafés, dining, coffee, and unstoppable ocean views. It's within walking distance of quaint downtown Pacific Grove and close to Cannery Row and the famous 17-Mile Drive. You can explore the shops, meet the wonderful locals, admire some outstanding homes, and enjoy fantastic people-watching. The staff is outstanding, friendly, welcoming, and genuinely understands hospitality. That is one of the main reasons I continue returning during Car Week. The rooms are a little older, although some have been updated, and the beds could use an upgrade. My recommendation is to ask for Room 301. The bed is much more comfortable, and the room has a balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. It's the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, watch the people below, and maybe even have a seagull stop by to visit! If you're looking for a charming, reasonably priced inn rather than a large luxury hotel, Lovers Point Inn is the spot. You simply cannot beat the location, views, value, or hospitality. We stayed at Lovers Point Inn April 2026. Unfortunately,the room had a strong musty, moldy odor from the moment we arrived. The heater in our room also produced a smoke smell when turned on. The air quality made it difficult to sleep, and we ended up opening the windows to try to air out the room. That helped with the smell but left us dealing with cold temperatures and outside noise throughout the night. During our stay, both our friends and I became sick, which raised concerns about the air quality and overall condition of the rooms. What was most disappointing was the lack of customer service. We called multiple times and left messages requesting that a manager contact us regarding the issues and a partial refund. We were told the manager was in a meeting until 1 PM and would call us back. We never received a return call. We followed up with additional phone calls, left more messages, and even sent an email. None of our attempts received a response. The location is beautiful and is the property's strongest feature. Unfortunately, the room conditions and lack of management response overshadowed the experience. For the price we paid, the accommodations felt more comparable to a Motel 6 than a coastal hotel charging premium rates. Problems happen at every hotel. What matters is how management responds. In our case, despite multiple calls, messages, and emails, no one ever followed up. That level of customer service is unacceptable. Based on our experience, I would not stay here again. read more

My late wife wanted her ashes to be scattered at Lovers Point, being a former Pacific Grove resident for years. Lover's Point Inn made her final wishes possible, as the park is merely a two-minute walk to where she was to be dispersed. The room is clean, roomy and comfortable for my son and I. I am extremely disappointed with how this hotel handled what I believe was a serious bed bug issue. After just one night, I woke up covered in dozens of itchy bites across my shoulders, neck, back, arms, wrists, and other parts of my body. I immediately reported the issue to the front desk and personally showed the staff my bites. Instead of treating the situation with the urgency it deserved, I felt completely dismissed. I was told that my room had been inspected. However, when I returned, it was obvious that nothing on the bed had been moved. The bedding looked exactly as we had left it, making it difficult to believe that a thorough inspection had actually taken place. To make matters worse, I was told that management would be contacting me by email to follow up. That never happened. The lack of communication only reinforced the impression that my concerns were not taken seriously. Whether the hotel ultimately found evidence of bed bugs or not, the way this situation was handled was unacceptable. When a guest reports waking up covered in bites and shows visible evidence, the hotel has a responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection, communicate honestly, and follow through on promised contact. I expected much better customer service, accountability, and concern for guest safety. Instead, I left with painful bites, unanswered questions, and no follow-up from management. I am still waiting for management to contact me so we can resolve this situation. We made a quick, impromptu trip up to Monterey during Spring Break, and we expected it to be crowded and expensive. We were able to book a room here a week in advance, and not only was it affordable, but the rooms were nice and less than a block from the beach. What more could we ask for? Our room was bigger than expected with a refrigerator and a stand-up shower. We booked a second floor room, so you could see a bit of the ocean from our window, which was beautiful. Parking was surprisingly easy (and most importantly, free!). They have some hotel-only spots in front, and if those are full, they have a small parking garage underneath the hotel that was never anywhere near to being full. It was such a nice treat on top of the already reasonable hotel fees. The hotel was walking distance to Lovers Point Park as well as a bunch of little shops and businesses in Pacific Grove. Each morning we got up, we picked a new cafe in the area and walked over for breakfast. Does it come with all the bells and whistles? No. But for a budget hotel that has a great location, is clean and comfortable, and has easy & free parking? Fit out goal perfectly. Would definitely stay here again on a return trip. read more

The wife and I stayed there last week for two nights. The location was great. The Hotel Sucked.. extremely noisy. The restaurant next door gets delivery at 500am OMG they are noisy. There is a delivery service right in front of the hotel. They start loading at 600am. The room above ours sounded like they were building furniture ALL NIGHT. The fan in the bathroom was broken or out of balance. It sounded like a truck engine. When we talked to the front desk the first morning the clerk just didn't care. He looked like he had not bathed in days, teeth greener than Shreks. They never cleaned our room. The beds are like a rock. Pillows are micro size. The stay was amazing. The maids were quick to make the bed and replace towels. Short walk to the beach and a little restaurant as well. The only thing I have to complain about is the parking, if there isn't enough room on the street they have a lot under the hotel and they only have one way in and one way out so you better have someone watching for you. read more

Absolutely DO NOT Stay Here - Anniversary Trip Ruined I booked the Luxury Room at Lovers Inn for our anniversary and requested an early check-in. When we arrived, the man at the front counter informed us that the room wouldn't be ready until probably after the regular 4 PM check-in time. He offered us another room, saying it was "still okay" - but it was definitely not what I booked. We reluctantly accepted the switch, but the room was a huge disappointment. It smelled awful, had outdoor furniture inside (yes, really), was small, dingy, and nothing close to "luxury." You could barely see the ocean from afar. That night, we tried to rest - but at 5 AM, we were woken up by people standing right outside our door loudly discussing where to get coffee. That lasted about 5 minutes. Then at 5:45 AM, we were woken again by kids in the next room yelling, jumping, and playing like it was midday. The walls are paper thin - we could hear everything. I tried to call the front desk, but guess what? The room phone doesn't even work - it's just for looks. So I had to get up, walk downstairs half asleep, and ring the bell twice before someone finally came to the door. I explained what was happening and was told they need TWO complaints to even consider speaking to the guests causing the noise. Are you kidding? At that point, my trip was already ruined. I said I didn't want to continue the stay, and the staff member said, "Okay, I took it off" and told me to check out. We left around 9:30 AM. When I asked the new front desk guy to confirm I wasn't being charged, he said no, but when I asked if he was the manager, he said no and just handed me a card to email the manager - that's the only way to reach them. Well now I am still in a battle with the manager through email to get back the second night of my stay because yes, I was charged. This was supposed to be a special anniversary trip, and it turned into a total disaster. Between the broken amenities, poor customer service, awful room conditions, and thin walls, it was one of the worst experiences I've had at a hotel. Save yourself the stress. DO NOT STAY HERE. It's definitely a little hodge podge with the upgrades and my husband did clean the seagull droppings of the arm of the balcony so we could car and people watch . The only good thing about this place is the location. The rooms are very dated. The whole motel is in need of renovations or a deep cleaning. The walls are also very thin. You can hear everyone on every side of you. But the problem with our stay was the service. We tried to see if we could check in a little early. Nothing wrong with trying. When we got there, the front desk was helping another group check in early, with an enthusiastic attitude. When it came to us, they treated us like a major inconvenience and like we were doing something wrong. They made it known that it was too early to check in but they'd see. They very rudely said you're two hours early, they're still cleaning, come back later. The group before us didn't pay for early check in but they were helped with a positive attitude. And they weren't given the reminder that they're early. Also while we were being "helped" we parked in the space clearly stated for registration. Well the owner yelled from her car to the front desk that someone's parked in her spot. I told her we're checking in and she huffed. A terrible Inn that I do not recommend to anyone. Disable parking are away from the only closet size elevator of a third floor building, where our room was located. Highly not suitable for persons with disabilities. Very tiny room for a price of $236 per night. Bed sheets found with dirt marks and bottom sheets with hairs. Blinds were missing parts that prevented room privacy from the street. The building is located in a nice area but owners don't seem to care for maintaining or improving the room accommodations. No one was available to change the sheets and front desk person suggested we change them. We canceled our reservation and checked out of the room. For the amount of money they charged for this room, they failed to disclose to me that I was sharing a door with an entire family in the next room over. Not being able to sleep because I hear an air mattress pump, children screaming, and a mother repeatedly yelling profanities at children wasn't how I imagined my vacation. The cost of almost $200 is pretty much just for the location... because it definitely isn't for anything about the room. Top deadbolt doesn't work, dirty pillow cases and very stuffy room for starters. Service at the front desk was the only saving grace, as he was very nice and helpful at check-in. Wish I would have noticed the dirty pillow earlier in the day. Website photos are definitely deceiving. They don't portray reality in my opinion. The room does have a tower fan at least to stir around the stuffiness, though the fog and mist rolled in so the room was better by the time I got back in the evening. (Left the windows open to air out.) There's something that beeps consistently (I think it's the multi outlet contraption they have plugged in over the counter.) Annoying but I can fortunately fall asleep fairly easily when exhausted. Mattress was definitely too hard for me. Not comfortable at all and the most tossing and turning I've done in a while. Equivalent to sleeping on maybe a pad on the ground. If I needed a room and couldn't find anything anywhere else, I'd stay, but it's not a place I'll ever actively seek out again (even with the location). Highlights-location was nice. We saw dolphins off the coast through the tiny speck of an ocean view. We could walk to the aquarium. That's about it. We really felt worried for our safety with a group of people riding around. Very worried about damage to our car. The place is SO run down. Peeling paint, rust faucets. And paper thin walls. The neighbors started yelling and laughing about 1030 and did not stop until after midnight. The bed is right next to the door so every person who walks by can be heard. I would not mind if it were a budget hotel but it was 260 a night. In the morning I wanted to talk to the front desk but he was dismissive and didn't want to converse at all. It served its purpose, we slept. The toilet was an issue. It kept getting plugged up and we finally asked for a plunger. We had issues with it all night which sucked we had to keep unplugging it. We stayed Thursday through Saturday after Christmas. They were in the middle of a remodel, but still, the hotel was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We weren't bothered by other guests and the parking was close and free. Our bathroom was small, but even that isn't a complaint, just an observation. We were on the third floor and the view was amazing! The Inn overlooks the ocean but is minutes from shopping and food. I brought my mom to Pacific grove for a few days and decided to stay here. It is within steps to the water. The view from my room was incredible. It's an older place so expect that. And if your looking for the Ritz Carlton for this price...your looking in the wrong place. I knew we would only be sleeping and showering here so I did not want to spend a fortune while staying close to the water. They no longer offer breakfast here...probably to not spend the money...but its nice to try the local food. They have some great places that are close. If you want some amazing clam chowder try vivolos. It's literally a couple blocks away and was so good. The room was clean and had no bad odor. I could not get the heater to work...but the man at the counter tried to fix it...he ended up getting the space heater from the office and that worked great. He was really nice and helpful. There is coffee in the room but I brought my own coffee grounds and creamer. The rooms do have a fridge...iron...blow dryer and tv. I brought one if the chairs on the deck each morning while drinking my coffee. I would definitely stay here again. It's so close to everything. read more

I recently booked a stay at this hotel for my 9-year anniversary with my wife, but my experience so far has been less than satisfactory, and I haven't even checked in yet. When I called to inform the hotel that I would be bringing my service animal, I was told by the manager, Louis, that there would be a $40 cleaning fee. Despite my explanation that it is illegal to charge additional fees for service animals, Louis rudely argued with me and suggested canceling my reservation, which is only a few days away. As someone who relies on my service animal for medical alerts, this situation has caused me a great deal of stress and uncertainty. I sincerely hope that when I arrive, the hotel honors the ADA regulations, waives the fee, and accommodates my service animal appropriately. Booked a room directly through the hotel, by telephone. Daniel at the front desk told us that the more expensive, third floor rooms all had ocean views. Photos of our view from room 308 are attached. As you can see, our view was of the elevator, which presented both safety and privacy concerns as people waiting for the elevator looked directly into our room. Hotel manager, Luis Cruz, gets a solid 'fail' for customer service. There are definitely better options in the neighborhood. If you decide to risk it and book a room here, do yourself a favor and get written confirmation of any services you are promised. We won't be returning. read more

The carpet is a bit dirty, still Still a bunch of hair on the floor by the table and window. Room was pretty cold, luckily they have a small portable heater you can move closer to you. Shower wouldn't get very warm, only recommend using it maybe during summer on hot days if you don't wanna freeze yourself. Nice friendly staff at check in and check out. The bed was made nice. UGH if I could give this establishment a negative rating it would be a negative review of 1. And that is Being generous, I'm only this because two front fest attendants we very nice. I arrived at the hotel late Thursday evening. Was placed on the first floor, fine, however, I found out that on the first floor none of the rooms are the rooms pictures on the the website, or on any third party website. That's false advertising. My second evening there, we were greeted by a handful of cockroaches Crawling through the decrepit fan that was somewhat still attached to the wall. See attached photos and video. $1400 reservation. We immediately left and had to book a room for two nights until this situation was resolved. Still isn't resolved at the moment. They haven't offered any additional compensation or anything as of yet. I cannot believe the incompetence of the hospitality industry. It makes me sick.
