Must try's: - Spicy Royal Noodle (Bun Bo Hue Chay) - Vermicelli delicacy (Bun Cha Gio Chay) - Fabulous Pho (self explanatory LOL) - Summer Rolls (goi cuon chay) The service here is always nice. I usually order pick up through Grubhub and they're always ready by the time I'm there. One thing that bugs me is on more than 1 occasion, they subbed my thick noodles for pho noodles to eat with my Spicy Royal bowl. Maybe I ordered later in the day and they ran out of the thick noodles, but I would at least like to be notified of the change.. So always double check your orders! read more

Iv'e tried a few different things but the wonton soup has become my favorite. I like to add the extra wonton and enjoy the crunchiness. Pricier than other wonton soups but delicious. The food takes a while to make so I would highly recommend placing a mobile order before hand so all you have to do is show up,pick it up and eat to save a lot of time. Review is for takeout and delivery. They often forget things (today the vermicelli delicacy we ordered came without the dressing, there's no fried garlic bits on top) and don't add extra veggies when we pay for it. The ignoring extra veggies has happened multiple times. Quality is also hit and miss. Today it's more salty than usual, sometimes dishes are sweeter than they used to be. This is perhaps the best food inside Oakridge. My favorite has to be fried rice combo. I absolutely love the tuno melt! Can't go wrong with lucky curry with brown rice. My breakdown: Menu: A mix of popular asian noodle/soup plates, american sandwiches, teas, and smoothies Service: Fairly quick, you'll never wait more than 8 minutes Price: Around $10, a bit pricey for what you're getting but oh well. Imitation Meat: Absolutely wonderfully good. Favorite Meals: I always get the Tuno Melt. This sandwich was a favorite as a kid and it's hard to tell the difference between the fake tuna they use and the real deal. They no longer display it on the menu, but most know how to make it, so ask for the pink nectar smoothie. I love the food here! As a long time vegan I've tried many options in the Bay Area and Loving Hut is one of my favorites. I like to get the Saigon rolls, phish burger, cheesecake and lemonade. I ordered the spicy soup- $9.19. It was super hot! The fake meat things on top were tasty but sort of awkward to eat. Then there's a layer of fat spaghetti/udon type noodles. Then a layer of shredded cabbage. Since the broth was too hot, I took the rest of my soup to go. I shopped at Target, got to my car and decided to try and eat the soup. The temperature was perfect. A vegan option at Oakridge Mall is very welcome, and I usually enjoy the "meatless" meats offered. I tried the Vermicelli Delicacy and Sesame Bites. The flavor of the Sesame Bites was unimpressive to me, I wouldn't get it again, but the Vermicelli I would get again. The food quality here is just average in comparison to its non-vegan versions, as well as other vegan eateries I've tried. If the prices reflected the quality of food more I would give them 4 stars, but at $5 for an appetizer, and about $9 for some very average vegan dishes, I feel like its a bit too expensive. But I still like the Loving Hut and will be back! I intend to try some of the other items which I see are more popular, which may necessitate an update. read more

My friend had the Pad Thai noodle dish made with vegetarian sea nuggets, tofu, bean sprouts and finished with a pad thai sauce and a garnish of fresh cilantro, carrots, cucumbers and cabbage). I had the Spicy Royal Noodle bowl, which is comprised of tofu, vegan protein, mushroom and fresh herbs and veggies. There is nothing like eating a warm bowl of noodles with fresh herbs and veggies (bean sprouts, basil, mushrooms, onions, scallions, lime and jalepeno). I definitely have PhoFever! They have a nice selection of vegan burgers & melts, appetizers, noodle bowls, rice plates, dessert cups (tropical fruit, lychee, jelly grass, chia and more) and refreshing thai beverages to choose from. Let me just take a minute to review this place... This is the worst place to eat at. It's a bit rough when you have been to the Loving Hut in Milpitas and you had the best experience with your tongue. Then, you come to this horrible place and the utter trickery of this so called "Loving Hut". No love is given here! The spring rolls may be cheaper than the restaurant but you get what you pay for! The peanut sauce was no peanut sauce at all. It was a watered down sauce and the spring rolls were rolled with rotten lettuce. The spicy royal soup I also got was quite watered down and none of the food was made with love! If you ever want to come to this specific restaurant, don't. I'd say that you spend a few more miles of driving to have a great experience at Loving Hut. Don't waste your time coming to this exact location. Trust me yelpers. read more

I have also tried the Rice w/ fake meat dish - rice was moist (just the way I love it) and the fake meat was sauteed I believe it was with lemongrass!! French fries weren't crunchy but was somewhat soggy and soft but really good with the red hot sauce they have there. Loving hut is a well priced restaurant with great options for Vegetarians. I was very happy with the quick service as well as the curries.

I actually CRAVE this place. The rice noodle bowl is SO GOOD. My friends, who ares vegan, took me here for lunch and I can't wait to come back. I ordered the rice noodle bowl and they ordered....practically everything on the menu. Some of my carnivorous friends have this view of vegans as grass grazers...um NO. My friends were hoarking down burgers, fries, fried spring rolls, fried tofu and satay. I was pretty impressed. Last I checked, the Loving Hut was still closed, but I hope they are open again now. I avoid malls during the holidays, but now they're practically over, hopefully i can get me some LOVING HUT! read more

Three words: SPICY ROYAL NOODLE. Also known as a vegan version of bun bo hue. It was the perfect remedy for my Lenten season meatless Friday hunger and perfect it was. The lemongrass broth (peppered with mushrooms) was depthful and divine and paired well with the noodles and cabbage. There were two different types of faux-meat: one to look like beef and the other to look like pork. Along with the tofu, the bowl was filling and very satiating. The cashier was friendly and knowledgable about the menu. I ordered the soup to go and it was well packaged. I was also buzzed via pager when it was ready (which left me time to walk around Target). I would absolutely get food from Loving Hut again, especially if looking for vegetarian/vegan options. read more

This place is pretty good. Not as good as Veggie Gril over in Santana Row, but still good nonetheless. Probably the best tuna melt you're going to have not made from real tuna. Their BBQ sandwich was also great. Spring rolls and fries were meh. Not bad, but not great either. If you're in the mall and are craving something semi healthy, then this would be your spot. I had the pho and tuna melt with side salad tonight and both dishes were delicious! The broth was great and all the soy products were yummy. The tuna melt, tasted like the real thing if not better. The side salad was Asian style with fried shallot, peanut, and shredded cabbage. The dressing was sweet and sour, not sure what it was but it was really tasty. I can't wait to try all the other dishes especially the Formosa noodles and the Spicy noodle soup!! The total was about $16. Not super cheap, but for the quality, it was definitely worth it. Don't be intimidated by fresh vegetarian food. Even carnivores love this place! Despite being omnivorous, I've been to a few Loving Hut locations and have never been disappointed. Just be smart about what you order since it's tricky to mimic the texture and flavor that meat has. For this reason, the only dish I didn't care for was pho. I've never even had good vegetarian pho at Pho Kim Long. Why would I expect stellar vegan pho here? It was good as any regular soup, but not if you're expecting that rich beef flavor. Anyway all tofu and eggplant dishes are scrumptious. Orange chicken is a tad sweet. Spicy beef or any satays are my favorite of their "meat" dishes. Employees are always really nice and service is good - even at the Valley Fair food court location. read more

WOW! Talk about a diamond in the rough. All vegan cuisine, so I almost left because I was craving some chicken. Nonetheless, I decided to give it a shot and I was more than pleasantly surprised. The tofu wonton pho dish I had was delicious. I also had the spring rolls and an avocodo shake. The only negative is that the seating is in the middle of the mall, although I think there may have been a small counter with a couple of chair in the restaurant. I am not a vegetarian but I love this place! Very good all vegetarian food and their tofu meats are very good. I have had their Vermicelli with "beef", Yellow curry, and Eggplant Tofu. All of these dishes were quite good and I was never thinking "wow I wish I had some meat here". This location is in the mall, so you sit out in the walk way. Just as an observation, I have noticed at all the Loving Hut restaurants they frequently have Supreme Master Ching Hai and her religious programming playing on their television (No I am not joking, Google it. I realized this because it is the same woman the Vegetarian House in downtown San Jose has a huge real life portrait of in the lobby). I'm down with religious openness, and (thankfully) they do not do not try and force their religion on you. I'm just here for the excellent food. I just wonder if they are a part of her organization? Absolutely delicious! I would have never expected vegan food to taste this good until I have tried this place. Totally converted me to eating no more meat! Everything from their pho, to their sandwiches to everything was amazing! Satay Bites are to die for! It's a must have! I always come back here and only here when I go to shop around Oakridge Mall.
