Ordered carpeting and installation. They had their team come out to measure how much carpet we needed. Car delivery was delayed three weeks, when it finally got here they installed most of it, but somehow didn't have enough carpet. Now it's been over a month with our job, still halfway done with exposed wood on our stairs. Not happy, they don't seem like they're doing anything about it. They said it would be expedited, but absolutely nothing has. I will not be shopping there again. read more

Looking for a natural sponge for a paint project I immediately searched through the painting department and could not find any sponges. I gave up the search and asked the employee at the paint department where I could find them. He quickly directed me to the Flooring department...interesting! We walked to the Flooring department and was greeted by Tyler who was sitting at a computer. After asking him about a natural sponge for painting he replied he didn't even know if they carried them. He quickly pulled out his phone and searched on the Lowes inventory and apparently they had 2 left in the "PAINTING" department. So Tyler stood up and said "let's go take a look." Unfortunately, they were not where the Lowes app said they were but that did not deter Tyler. He searched and he walked and he searched and just when we all came to the conclusion that they must have been sold my husband found two in the crafts area next to Painting as if someone had just thrown them on top of other product. Kudos to Tyler for going above and beyond and it wasn't even his department..a true committed Lowes employee! The only reason for 1 star off is because the painting department employee was so quick to dismiss us and direct us to another department. read more

Going to Lowes' twice in one day just to return Air Filters of $23.85 They wanted my blood type to return, almost true it was a credit card they could not find and said no return possible. Second Trip : Brought receipt and statement. Pam said no way no return. I said please get a manager over, she said there are No managers tonight. I started to get upset a senior who just paid this store over $6.000. And further more I was told different about this return. What has happened to good Customer Service? I just left Carefree Lowe's Incredibly frustrated. My goal was too return 4 plants that didn't make it out of 60 + plants that I purchased for my landscaping project on my new home and 2 additional items that I bought extra quantity of to make sure I didn't have to drive back if I needed a little more. We can launch satellites, develop facial recognition and have cars that can drive themselves, but Lowes can't figure out if I purchase something at their store unless I have the holy Grail receipt which I did not have or the specific credit card that I used to pay for it, which, evidently they said I didn't have. I also need to mention that this process of trying to find if the purchase was on my Lowe's card (This is not a credit card, but a loyalty card that also tracks purchases and expenses. The trick is you have remember to ask the cashier to add it the "My Lowe's" card, so there is a record of that purchase if you lose the receipt.) took 20 minutes to get nowhere. They said It was also not found on my Amex credit card, which is the only card I use because it is a rewards card. After that long of a period of time, there were three people trying to help me figure this out like I said this was going nowhere, so finally, A nice person who I assume may have been a manager came over and asked what was going on. I explained that I definitely purchased these items at Lowe's. It's always been my understanding that plants have a one year guarantee that that's why I buy them there and it's obvious, because I have the original pot, and the plant has the original Lowe's tag around a branch. The manager explained that if they couldn't find this item on my credit card, that they had no way of returning it. I explained clearly they just wanted to exchange it. I don't want to refund that this is taking too long and it's making me feel like I'm trying to get something for free at Lowe's when they tell you their plants are guaranteed for one year. I'm trying to be fair here, but in all honesty, the original person and the returns Test trying to figure out my return was it managed by the manager that she was doing it wrong and I feel that my purchase really was on my card they just didn't know how to do it. I asked the manager to check herself, but she kept telling me that there's nothing they can do. If it's not in the system I asked one last time and she said the same thing over. At this point, I started thinking to myself that I don't have to shop in Lowe's if they make me frustrated trying to do a simple return. The hard part is is that I'm not the kind of person that tries to return things that I shouldn't and I've never had a problem at Home Depot or Cave Creek building supply. This experience made me so frustrated that I wanted to communicate to the manager that I will never walk through a Lowe's door again if they don't figure out a way to make an exception and take care of me as a customer. I also informed her that they can keep the merchandise - it's not about the money. Unfortunately, the manager repeated again that if they can't find it on my credit card, there is nothing they can do. We all know there are many ways that this could've been better handled. So I did decide to leave the items with the exception of one $50 product and let them know I will never step foot in Lowe's store ever again. I have run my own business for over 35 years now and if a customer tells me that they're that frustrated, at a minimum we are going to give them a few options even if I'm not able to give them exactly what they want. With so many similar stores in our area, I don't see the value of going to Lowe's Home improvement if this is the kind of difficulty and frustration trying to get a simple return completed. The employees in the garden center are the worst. They are the most unfriendly, unhelpful and unwelcoming people I have ever encountered.! The lady at the register this morning Saturday, December 2 was too busy texting on her cell phone instead of helping me. When asked about the specific plant I was looking for not only Did she not know but she was not willing to help me, and instead continued to look at her cell phone. Thank you. Went in to buy 17 MORE sheets of plywood. I purchased 17 last week, and planned on buying more Sunday or next week. The sheets I received last week were warped like a potato chip. But I made them work for what i needed. So this time I enter the store at about 830 with my dad and son. There seems to be no one working anywhere in the entire store. We get the screws we need, and head to the plywood. The sheets on the lower rack are warped even worse then last weeks, and beat up on the edges. So I wander around and find a guy who I tell I need 17 sheets of plywood, his response was we close in 20 minutes, let me see if I can find someone to help. He never returns... I walk around and find another guy who asks if I need help and tell him what I need and I'd like a forklift to get the good sheets down. He says we're close to closing let me go grab another Guy from the back and see if we can get this knocked out... so I go back to the aisle and 2 different men approach a minute later and ask if we need drywall, I say no I need plywood. He asks which ones I want, and I tell him those up there so they aren't warped. He appears very irritated that I don't want ruined brand new product, and tells me we need to leave the aisle so he can get a forklift over there. So we do. They close off one of the aisles, I ask if they can just drive the forklift out and load them in my truck that way and he says no, we have to take em down and load em on to a cart and you need to push em all the way down there cuz the lumber side is closed. I said ok. he leaves which I assume is to close the aisle or get a forklift, but then he comes back and tells me he spoke to his manager who says they will be closing the registers soon so to come back first thing in the morning and they will get me loaded up. At this point I'm irritated where I laughed and said I will not be coming back in the morning I will find somewhere else to go to spend my money where people want to do there job. As I am walking away not buying wood or screws he says quietly " like we need you anyway" needless to say the quality of product is poor. There was more then enough time to get me the product I wanted if the employees actually wanted to help. The manager telling me to come back in the morning also doesn't make sense to me, (they want to close 2 aisles on a busy Saturday morning instead of a dead store at 840 at night)? They could have rang me up for the sheets first before taking them down, And the employee saying " like we need you anyway" obviously you don't value your job, the company you work for, and should not have a job in customer service or retail. Needless to say I will be taking my business across the street to the orange competitor and will never be stepping foot in this place again. I will also be filling a complaint to corporate. Pretty decent store, some folks actually know what they're talking about, but there's always that one employee who doesn't even know that he works at the store. When it comes to extend the warranty on appliances, take a pass! Don't do it, impossible to deal with, multiple phone calls that are never returned, you end up, calling an appliance repair company anyway! The aggravation is not worth the money. I went up to this store in Carefree which was nearly 65 miles from my house to get a few items I knew were on clearance. When I arrived I tried finding them in where they should normally be located but none of the items were. I approached an associate in tools and let him know what I was looking for and he didn't see them either in their normal places. I showed him a list of the items I was looking for. We should be able to give zero stars. I bought a brand new washer and dryer in December. It came cracked. Made calls and no one ever returned them so I kept using the washer. Had a tragedy in the family and didn't pursue the new washer. Now it's broken for another reason and doesn't work at all. You call Lowe's and they tell you they can't do anything to call GE who doesn't do anything. I've been without a washer now for a month with promises from GE the parts will ship yet they don't. This had a warranty and less than 8 months old. Lowe's is zero help even though they make plenty of money they could replace my washer then they could get their money back from GE. Instead they make the customer go through all the hassle to get nowhere. Where I work, even if it's not our fault and we lose money, I take care of my customers. I will never buy from Lowe's again. Went in today to buy appliances for our house. I figure $7-8 thousand or more. Waited in the appliance section until I was approached by an older dark haired man. He said do you need help? I said yes I do. He then said press the button on the wall and the lady in this department will come to help you. I looked at the wall and could not see a button to push. He became frustrated with me and said "It is right in front of you!" This review is based solely in regards to Pam (who amazingly she told me she was a manager) and Cassandra in this Lowe's Customer Service. I had the return an umbrella base at my wife's request. From the very first contact, with Cassandra and Pam I was treated like I was stupid, instead of a customer. Cassandra then told me I had to find the item number for this product before she could do the return but couldn't tell me where in the store to find it. It was then pointed out another person in this department that there was a screw missing from the base and that I would have to find it before the base could be returned. Again it wasn't the missing screw or that the base was not "clean" when I returned it, it was the way that these 3 customer service people communicated to me. I'm 60, and I don't think I've ever been treated like this at any store.....INCREDIBLE!!! When I went home, found the screw and came back to the store, there were no customers in this department, but when I approached Cassandra to do the return, SHE WALKED AWAY FROM ME, and tried to offer to help a customer that was walking by in the other direction!!! I guess at this point, nothing should have surprised me, but again, I couldn't believe it!!! I cannot believe that a "major" chain like Lowes allows people like this to interact with customers, which is probably a large part of the reason why this company is losing market share. I finally asked for the the GM at this store and was told he was not there, and I ended up speaking with George, who is an assistant manager. George was very receptive and seemed as surprised as me that this had happened (although I doubt I was the first person treated in this manner by this department as it appears to be the culture in this department). George assured me he he would take care of the situation, but by this point, it was too late, at least for me. I WILL NEVER GIVE MY MONEY TO ANOTHER LOWES EVER AGAIN. The only reason this review is two stars (changed 10/9: see below) is because of the exemplary customer service by Kim. She was truly a wonder in trying to help me resolve my issues but the tsunami of incompetency by other Lowe's sections could not be overcome by either of us. Thank you Kim for trying. Yesterday I went into the store to buy a refrigerator. I knew exactly what I wanted and Linda in major appliances was helpful and efficient. I got a discount if I opened a credit card so I did. The entire bill included the fridge, a water connection, a 3-year maintenance plan, and a haul-away of my old fridge. I was pleased with the result. I made it very clear that any phone contact should be my home land line since my cell was dying. The delivery section was supposed to call me that night to give me a delivery window. They didn't. Today I got a email saying that my window was from 11 to 3. I proceeded to take everything out of the laundry room haul-away fridge, and also my kitchen fridge which was to be moved to where the haul-away one was with the new fridge set up in my kitchen. I moved the stuff out of that one as well and moved my car out of the garage so that they had a clear path to the laundry room and kitchen. I DID NOT LEAVE THE HOUSE. I stayed there all day waiting. And waiting. And waiting. At 12:38 PM I got an email stating "sorry we missed you" and I'd have to reschedule. I DID NOT LEAVE THE HOUSE and I got no phone calls. I called the delivery number and they said that the delivery people had been at my house at 10:05, called and got no answer saying my voicemail was full, and took 7 pictures of my house. At 10:05 I was TEN FEET from the front door, on the couch, watching TV. Apparently, no one had the basic intelligence when not getting a phone answer to KNOCK ON THE DOOR. Also, neither my cell nor my landline ==HAS== voicemail to be full. Apparently they called my cell (dying) instead of my land line which I made clear to use when I purchased the fridge. I made it clear that I wanted the fridge delivered TODAY. Period. I also went to Lowe's where I was helped by Kim who called them and made it clear that I needed the fridge today. They told her they were talking about how to do that and they'd call me. At 2:38 PM I got an email saying they would deliver my fridge ON SUNDAY OCTOBER 9th. I canceled the order and canceled my brand new Lowe's credit card. I will not be buying from them again. Tomorrow I go to Home Depot to buy a fridge and even if it takes longer to get here and costs more I don't care: Lowe's has lost my business. I've been buying from them since I moved here in 2008 from flooring to appliances and more. I haven't abandoned them, they've abandoned me with carelessness and inefficiency. UPDATE: Sunday, October 9th. As noted above because of pathetic delivery service I canceled the order for a refund. Guess what truck turned up on my doorstep today? Yup. Since I CANCELED and got a REFUND I turned them away. I had already moved everything back in both fridges, too. I originally had two stars: I just downgraded the review to one. read more

My wife and I decided to get some plants and do some gardening, and she said that Lowes has a good garden section and the plant that we wanted. We headed over and looked around and couldn't find what we were looking for, despite the fact that the website said this location has what we need. We asked 2 people. The person at the register was just useless and instead of saying "I don't know" he started point us to go outside and look at the stuff in the parking lot. In the meantime, we asked another person who was walking around with a "Customer Service" vest. He said that he has never seen what we were looking for. While my wife was listening to these two clowns, I found them. They were on the shelf and where they were supposed to be. Strike 1. We picked up what we needed and headed inside the store. I noticed a congregation of 4-5 employees all chatting and blocking the isle. As I went through the crowd, one older employee said "Ah you got such and such from the garden". I said yes, we looked and found it ourselves. He was somewhat offended and said he'll be out in a couple of minutes. What good will that do for me? I already found what I wanted myself. As I got farther in the line I heard him making a snarky comment and they all laughed. Whatever. About 10 minutes later, we were passing through the masonry department and I saw him chatting with another employee. So his couple of minutes is more like 10 or longer. Strike 2. We're doing some gardening and I needed a dirt sifter (something to pour the dirt in and separate the rock from dirt, like a dish with a screen under it). So we went to the Customer Service and talked to one of the two people standing there. An older lady started helping us. After explaining what I needed, she said there's no such thing. I said I beg to differ, I have seen it and if you want to go way back, prospectors used to use such devices to sift the dirt and separate the rock and gold. They also use it quite a bit while digging for fossils, etc. So it DOES exist. She said "Well that's in a perfect world...". So while my wife was listening to this lady blabbing about nothing, I pulled up my Amazon app and searched for "Soil Sifter". What do you know... $27 from Amazon with 1 day free delivery. So I showed it to her and she said "Oh well that's Amazon, you can get anything from Amazon". So it DOES exist, I said. She wasn't happy. Strike 3. We finally picked up some bricks and headed to the register. The only one open was a self check out. Everything had barcodes, but not the bricks. So another older lady came to help. She looked it up manually in one book, then in another one and finally pulled out the BIG BINDER as she called it and started going through the pictures. So I said I'll go and take a picture of the tag and come back. Masonry department is almost at the end and opposite of the registers, so I walked all the way down again (passing the customer service people) and took a picture of the tag and came back. By the time I arrived, she found the picture. 73 cents... The register has no way of searching for an item. It was the most comical shopping trip ever. Strike 4 To top things off, we started to dash out and get the heck away from that nightmare place, and was bombarded by the Humane Society people asking for donations. I told my wife we need to get away or I'll go out of my mind. Didn't want to talk about animals, adoption, donation... just leave. The young lady was disappointed that we didn't want to tell her which one of us was a "Pet Lover" but I had to drive off and put that place behind me. My observation: This place will not last much longer. 2 employees in the garden area, 4 inside chatting, 2 at the customer service, one at the self check out and a couple more running around doing nothing. That's 11 employees that I counted vs. about 6 customers in the store. Lack of service, integrity, helpfulness and caring will be the downfall of this store and possibly this company. Will not go there again, unless if I know that they have it, where it is, how much it is, has a barcode tag on it and will dodge out from the garden area so I don't get solicitation about anything. read more

The cashier in the garden center, her name was Kathy checked me out but was extremely annoyed that I asked for plastic bags for the plants not to get my car dirty! After she did place the plants in plastic bags she turned and said "you're not welcome ". I said, excuse me? I heard what you said! She just looked at me and said " what? I have no idea what you're talking about". I proceeded to the customer service desk and informed a young man who supposedly was the manager of the encounter. Lowe's sold me a USED faucet, marketed as new. Had to return it WHILE a plumber was at my house, (so yes, a total stranger at my house while I have to drive 6+ miles to Lowe's to make it right). Stressful? Yes. Lowe's manager says "Do you think we did this on purpose?" Well clearly, one of their employees definitely did that on purpose. You can see corrosion on the faucet spout and water drops on the rest of it. They even put strapping tape around the box like all the others so that customers would expect a new product. Corporate Lowe's is a joke. Subcontractors they hire are completely incompetent. Paid Lowe's tens of thousands for home improvement work that needed to be done and it took over a year to get it done after numerous subcontractor no shows and cancellations. When it finally got done, it was done completely wrong. Ended up going direct to manufacturer who pointed out ALL of subcontractors wiring doings and work had to be done over again, with delays. Lowes even short changed the subcontractors on their labor after we paid for it in the contract. After numerous cancellations, having to pay out of pocket for touch up work, Lowe's had no remorse and NOTHING for remuneration. When approaching the checkout line and standing in it for several minutes, I was told that the line was started in the other direction. Of course, I was standing on a square, as directed. That meant that I would have to join another line that several others had accessed after I began standing in what was improperly labeled as a checkout line. There was only one checkout point open, and now many in line. I decided to leave the store, because I felt as if I was the client I should be treated well. By having one checkout line open Lowe's is telling me that their convenience is more important than mine and that their time is more valuable than mine. I returned the products that I was holding, and then I left to go down the street to Home Depot, where I paid less and was processed out very quickly. By the way, I rated your Cave Creek, AZ store with two stars only because I met a very helpful employee while I was shopping. Home Depot has earned a client and you have lost one. read more

As much as I like the nearby convenience of Lowe's, their recent return policy is really poor. I went in to return some cheap, unopened chicken wire. Had receipt showing credit card I used for payment. Problem was receipt was over 90 days (111 days), so they wouldn't credit my charge card. The best home partners to have! Since moving here just about 5 years ago, we have done a lot of work on our home. We purchased a home that needed some light renovations and the staff at Lowes has been the perfect partner for us to do that with. Yesterday, we went to Lowes looking for a patio heater. Now that the weather is turning colder and we like our remodeled patio, we needed a heater to enjoy it longer. They were out of stock, however our new buddy Rick in the Garden Center hooked us up. After wandering the aisles he asked what we were looking for. When we told him, he informed us that they "may" be getting some on the truck that was coming in last night. I called this morning and talked to Rick who informed me that they had received some. He also told me that I could either order one online and do curbside or that I could come directly in the store. We ran in and they were just exactly where he said they would be. Rick was even nice enough to go over the best way to put it together along with tidbits that he had from what other people had said to him about them. Rick then even went on to other items in the aisle that people were snagging up in case there was something else we weren't thinking of. I love that Rick was interested in making sure our patio was our perfect place to spend the chilly nights. Lowes has also put a purchase quantity limit on their patio heaters so that people will have opportunities to buy one. He mentioned that sometimes commercial businesses will come and buy them all. While I tried to complete my purchase of five of the same item at the cash register, I was confronted by this unruly employee claiming that there was a rule that limited me to purchasing only one. Then, she said the rule was specific to this store when I confronted her saying I purchased 5 of these items at a different Lowe's earlier today. Next thing you know another employee started saying that all 5 items I had with me were already purchased by a single customer but were awaiting pick up. After some back and forth with them, it felt like they were just giving me a bunch of BS. So, I decided it was pointless to continue the conversation with them and left empty handed. As I left unhappily, they decided to allow me to purchase one of the items. One of the ones that was already paid for and awaiting pickup. What the heck? Anyway, that was the last draw for me. Do not use Lowe's for any installations. I contracted for interior and exterior doors last July. Still waiting for credit for overcharging on doors that don't exist. I contracted to replace all windows in home with Pella and large picture window was never made and delivered; stationary windows were ordered that were to be slider windows; and vice versa, slider windows were installed where stationary windows were to be installed. The former sales person, Tim Hoak, left and the Store Manager and OEM Manager have been less than helpful. Their lack of customer service and trying to resolve issues leads me to believe they just don't care. My next step is the Registrar of Contractors, as well as going on any review site available to warn people about the imcompetence of this company!!! read more

Ordered carpet and had it installed. The bedroom furniture was supposed to be moved out and back in but they only sent one guy that didn't really care so I had to move all the heavy furniture myself. I'm 74 years old and have health issues. I also had to move the furniture back in. I called Lowes to see what they could do but they never got back to me. I went to the store the next day and told them what happened, and they said they would talk to the Manger and see if they could give me a partial refund. I never heard back from them again. The next day the carpet came up at the tile and had to be reinstalled at that point. The company that they used for install was " Eclipse". Don't use Lowes or "Eclipse." Better find a better company that will honor their contract. read more

Not a fan. I find the store disorganized. Lots of items out of stock. Had a difficult time finding things.

Service is horrible. I was standing in line for approximately 5 minutes as bot open cash registers were having problems. A sales associate came to open a new line and took the people at the end of the line that just walked up and let us people at the front of the line continue to wait while the cashiers were still experiencing problems. When I asked to speak to the manager the experience went downhill from there. Will not go back to this location. read more

I have been doing Residential Real Estate in the valley now for over 27 years and I just had the BEST experience working with Jay Shennum in the Cabinet Department at Carefree Lowes. Jay helped me design the most incredible library, office and additional Kitchen mods for our brand new home. I have always used independent companies for projects like these, but after having some very frustrating appointments, with some very overpriced companies in the valley, I decided to reach out to my local Lowes. I met with Jay and after a couple of appointments, he had a design that was SO incredible and a perfect visual on his computer of how things would look before making the final decision. On July 16th I used the PRODESK to make a major purchase of Decking Material to build a deck at my Rental Property. I had a deadline to meet by August 1st and the PRODESK person made no mention that that date could not be fulfilled. On July 20th I had a delivery of about half the order. The PRO DESK rep said their Vendor just didn't get the order right and proclaimed an ..."OOOOPs!" "They messed it up... but the order should be here the next week for sure." I completed the Deck build as far as I could go with the material I had and the final load was still not in. PRO DESK still said OOOOOps ! I guess they just forgot! My Rental Property is now losing business because the Deck will not be finished by August 1st. Now it looks like August 4th. August 4th comes around and still no TREX Deck. The PRO DESK continues to blame the 3rd party vendor. I ask/demand to have the Ph. # to that Vendor but the PRO DESK pleads that they are doing everything possible to get the delivery. August 5th and the Manager has been brought into the situation. He says it is a delay on the part of TREX. That is fine, but why couldn't that have been disclosed by the PRO DESK initially? Why keep me hanging, when they knew they couldn't fulfill the order? Oh by the way, I forgot to mention; LOWE's already took my money for the entire order! I have done a search ONLINE for the Enhance TREX DECK in Saddle all over the state and even into California and every store discloses that they will take your order and your money but the delivery won't be made until October 7th or 8th (approximated). How can LOWE's make these order promises if the vendors can't fulfill their part of the order? And then continue to lie about the delivery being there the next week, when they know TREX can't deliver until at least October? I get TREX's excuse....they're just Hella-busy. But LOWE's making promises they know they can't fulfill, while taking your money...it's a crime! All the while the PRO DESK makes you feel like you're the problematic customer because you expect them to fulfill their end of the bargain! FRUSTRATING for sure. And disappointed that LOWE's jus continues to put the blame on 3rd party vendors and act nonchalantly like there is nothing they can do to help you until you bring a Manager into the situation! read more

I needed some paint supplies so I stopped by Lowe's. I was surprised only one employee was wearing a mask. At checkout the woman at the register, who already had an attitude when I arrived at her register, rang up my purchases and I inserted my credit card. The card reader asked for confirmation by tapping a button on the screen. When I told the lady with the attitude that I didn't want to touch the screen, she responded " if you want that stuff, you have no choice". I picked up a pamphlet and used that to respond to the screen request. Later that day I needed additional supplies and had heard that Walmart, where I never shop, required their employees to wear masks. Turns out that was accurate. Thanks Walmart. I'll be back.
