My experience here was great because we came a certain light fixture and they had it in stock and then checked out all in less than 10 minutes on a weekend. Yup. Seems that's the key. If you know what you want and they have it life is easy. Well that's the case with any store. I have to say though Lowes is nicely appointed and they have lots of inventory. We noticed fixtures here that my husband had been looking for all over Home Depot for almost a year. So now he knows where to go when he can't find it at Home Depot. This is my first time here. It sucks that I have to give one star because Alexander In seasonal was really helpful and knowledgeable about the products at Lowe's. HOWEVER, when we went to self check out.. We scanned this large AC unit so it's in the cart. The self check out wanted us to place the item in the baggage area So we pressed skip bagging And it said please wait for assistance THEN the guy that was in the self check out station at 8:40pm (larger guy with long hair) says "are you sure you scanned the right item" and we said yes. And he's very aggressive asking him if we are sure . There's literally one item and the price showed up on the screen. If we scanned the wrong barcode for example the one from shipping on the box it would say "invalid item" and we have like be able to scan the correct barcode. He kept insisting that the message notified him that we scanned the wrong item, with such an aggressive attitude. But I guess that's our fault for wanting to go to self checkout ?? Should have skipped the attitude and went in line. There was Also two other women checking out and he was speaking to them in the same tone as well. We definitely won't be back to this Lowe's read more

Dylan gets 5 stars for his friendly service! Since moving here, we have had to make numerous trips here and after interacting with so many unhelpful staff members, I can say that Dylan is a diamond in the rough. He went above and beyond and helped us with finding our screw replacements and picture hanging stuff. Steve in the paint department was grumpy but overall very knowledgeable about wood and expoxy solutions. I recommend that this location keeps it up with hiring informative and helpful staff members because Lowe's doesn't have the reputation of a place where you can get help, like Home Depot does for example. read more

I saw terrible reviews on their installation service and didn't believe, but now I wish I can give them less than 1 star. The staffs in the store are busy yet friendly if you just go in picking up something small, but DO NOT use their INSTALLATION service. I bought a toilet there and have them installed for me. They turned out cutting corners, skipping steps installing a leaking toilet (2nd floor), which caused water damage to my 1st floor ceiling. I hired a plumber and found out about this 4 months later. When I tried to reach them about this, I had to make about 5 calls to find the right person in charge of this. He asked me to get free estimate from other contractors. After seeing the estimate, they want to repair it themselves (by the same guy that installed the toilet). They rather wasting my time and other contractor's time giving them free estimates so that they can save a trip come see the damage themselves. I couldn't tell if they cut corners repairing inside the drywall, but they refused the paint the whole ceiling to match the color. So far they've been ignoring my emails about refunding me the plumber's cost. Update: I called in one week later. They said they already processed the refund, but obviously too busy to reply to my email letting me know. Hopefully, I will see the refund in a week. Generally, this store just doesn't hire enough people taking good care of customers. If you know what you're doing and just go in grab something you know, the store is actually pretty convenient, but don't trust their service. read more

I live at lowes. The oceanside one. I love that store the customer service is awesome. Unfortunately I can't say the same for there Carlsbad location. After every project I return my leftover materials. Never have a problem. I always have the receipt In my work binder. Never need it though because I will use my debit card since everything in there computer there. The young Mexican girl I think her name was Rosie or roslyn decided see wasn't gonna return a 2x10 I had among many other items because it didn't have a barcode on it. I'm like yeah I've never had this problem before as you guys will just look up the item on the computer or the book. She stated that it can't be returned because she didn't have the book. She was unwilling to help me so I had to have her manager brain come do it since she didnt feel like working. I wasn't even mad untill she was telling me it can't be done. Brain came over and made it happen in literally 2 minutes. But apparently she just didn't feel like doing it. Wow. Like I said I'm in lowes everyday. I've spent about 40k in this store this year alone. I'm a contractor. This chick was beyond rude and I hope she gets what's coming to her. Wasted 10 minutes of my time because she dosen'tlike working. Told me she know how it works that she works there lol. But she didnt or just didnt want to i dunno. What a cluster***, we went to lowe's to order flooring, thinking a national chain like Lowe's would offer a more reputable experience than one of the smaller, local outlets. I'm embarrassed to acknowledge just how mistaken I was! If you need to buy a 2x4, i'm sure they're just fine, but don't put yourself in a situation where you're counting on them to... oh, measure, order materials like carpet, and communicate with the installers! Just to add insult to injury i was just informed by some yo-yo named john that they would be extorting 400$ from me for canceling my order. I will view this as the cost of education, which is probable better than the thousands of dollars that would have been at stake, had i not canceled the order. This store was great when they first opened and a good alternative. This past 3 months we have been doing a lot of repairs and a few upgrades so I've been there quite a bit. My husband is a Veteran so we get a 10% discount which is awesome, but about the only good thing I can say at this point. There are a few associates there that are actually helpful, but more seem rather clueless. My contractor and I went last week to get a new interior door, paint and lots of door handles, for my front door and some interior doors. The door handles and knobs came to over $425. The door was a special order. While looking at the hardware we needed some help and asked the associate that was hanging out there if he could help. He said yes, that was his department. He wasn't very friendly and seemed like he was getting annoyed at all of our questions and the amount of time we were taking. There was not a single other person in the department at the time, but he decided he needed to leave and sent a young woman over to help us. She was at least friendly. Paint department. Not one customer and I can see why. The sales associate was not friendly or helpful in the least. Then to the door. I decided on a door that I thought would work but I wanted to compare the picture of it to other doors I had at home. It needed to be special ordered because I wanted a solid core door. We were told to just send them an email after I confirmed that it would work. So I did...... then the sales associate gave me the price which was higher than the price shown on the door. When I asked for an explanation he said that his Vendor had not been out in over a year to change the prices. What?! If the price shown on the door is not correct at the very least you add a sign that says something like "Please see associate for current pricing" , etc. He also never mentioned that this pricing was not current when we spent 20 minutes with him discussing the door. I sent an email back stating that I expected Lowe's to stand behind the posted price. That was a week ago and I've heard nothing. I guess I'll be starting over somewhere else. Check out - they now want everyone to use self checkout. Only one lane with open with areal person. I don't work there, hire more cashiers. read more

I am not sure who is to blame for this experience, but you can come to your own conclusion. Here's how things progressed. We bought a washer and dryer as a gift for someone. They were delivered on time and the delivery guys were very nice and professional. Things went South from there. It was discovered that the washer was not working and had to be replaced. Called, Lowe's agreed to replace it the following week. . . great . . .we thought. Thursday, received a call that it would be delivered the following day between 6 and 9 to the billing address. We tell them it was a gift, please deliver it to the delivery address, "okay." Called at 9:30 thinking they were late, discovered it was p.m., simple mistake. The revised time from 6:30 to 8:00. Called at 8:15, we were told, they are late, how about 9:30 p.m.? We said, it is too late, going out, please set it up for Monday. Get a call on Sunday, "we would like to delver it today" to which we said no, it has to be delivered on Monday. They agree and tell us they were going to deliver it to the billing address. We correct them, it is a different address. They tell us to call them in the morning on Monday, we say how about you call me Sunday night to tell us when we will have it delivered and they say, "no, we don't do that, you call us." We say after all this, you could call us, they say, " . . . we don't do that, we are not calling and if you don't call you can pick it up at the store . . .(click)" Yes, they hung up the phone! So, we call Monday morning, they say it will be delivered that morning, but to the billing address. We finally say, please connect me with the manager. We finally speak with the manager and tell them the problem. They confirm that they were about to deliver a washer to the billing address and the delivery address. Yes, they were going to deliver two washing machines to two different locations. We advise them that this is completely wrong and to please delete the billing address from their records. They do and apologize that there is a problem with the their delivery company. (Yeah, no kidding). They confirm the address, but will call us back on the time. We say, please call us, "oh, I will." No call. We finally check with the recipients at nearly Noon. It was finally delivered. I can't blame Lowe's for this entirely because their sales reps were very nice and professional, hence, one star. But, most folks have appliances delivered, so it seems to rest at their feet. I was anxious to send business their way because of the other Home service center's market place, but this experience has really soured my support for Lowe's. Ultimately, you can choose on your own where to get your appliances, but my mind is made after this ridiculous experience. What started out as a very nice gesture turned out to be a gift from Hell thanks to the appliance delivery company's administrative disfunction. They remind me to two words, the first is Cluster. Lowe's motto should be "I wish I could help" which I heard many times through my ongoing ordeal. Went to this store to order bulk wall tile of a specific style for pickup, got the run around between customer service and pro desk, but eventually someone knew to call Desirae who was great and placed the order, whew! But then then it wasn't delivered on schedule, other store reps weren't helpful or had any real information, so I went to corp customer service, which kicked it back to the store, then the store back to corp customer service as it's a corp truck scheduling issue, now corp customer service said they wish they could help and it's still a store problem (we're 5 days past delivery date). Nobody yet will take responsibility, offer a solution, or even give me a real ETA, so on display is a systemic dysfunction of company culture and operations. Their competitor meanwhile managed to have goods available on time and now this one item from Lowe's is the gate for my contractor and is difficult to find a last minute substitute for from a different vendor. Edit: 7/12 - Customer service supposedly escalated to the district manager hoping it would help then ended the call when I asked how I'd get visibility. 7/13 - Wife called the store, they said order is ready for pickup, sent our contractor to find the order not ready and nobody being able to provide status. The store calls us, says it's a DC issue not having the order, they try to place the order again, turns out its a backorder problem, two more calls (involving three people) and one store visit later the order was split in two, one in-stock and one backorder so maybe we can make some progress. 7/14 - Store ASM calls, confused at what's going on so we have to explain it to him, says he'll call us back. Calls us back now kind of understands, says maybe we'll get the in-stock order on 7/20 and the backorder could take 4+ weeks. 7/17 - Corporate escalations called us, we'll see what happens now. Actual customer service, functioning operations, and transparency/visibility could have solved this whole thing before it got this far out of hand. read more

I hired Lowe's to install carpeting throughout my house and they did an excellent job with no issues and timing was perfect. Based on this experience, I selected them to install ceramic tile in the entrance of my home and living areas. I paid for the job in January upfront at a Lowe's store. It is now June and the project is still incomplete the quality of the subcontractor installers was adequate, but I had to hire additional resources to complete the filling and painting of the baseboard areas and Lowe's left several areas in complete with no baseboards installed after, including this in their bid there are several sections of the baseboard which are curved and Lowe's found the material after starting the job, but refused to perform the install my best guess is they ran out of money and would rather deal with this in court then to satisfy their customers I subsequently hired an independent firm to come in and fix the baseboards after six months of waiting for Lowe's to complete the work. I highly recommend not using Lowe's installation services for flooring on complicated projects. read more

There were more than 10 employees walking around or just chit chatting in area. Perfect example of poor management. Ahh Lowe's, It's a like the self-help, but don't ask me to help you up, home improvement store. This one has an excellent location and has just about everything that Home Depot has down the road. During the weekdays this store is pretty quiet and I can be in and out of here in under 10 minutes. The key is that you HAVE to know what you are looking for, and where! Each time I've shopped here I've never been greeted by any of the staff. As a matter of fact, the only people who seem to acknowledge me are the ladies in the vendor kiosk selling solar power contracting. It's still a reliably A-OK place to get what I need. What could make it better? Perhaps a little more involvement with the customers by the people who work here. For instance, last week I asked one of the workers who was on the floor, "Excuse me, where can I find the plant food?" "It's outside." she replied, walking away. "Where outside?" (like, their awesome, brilliantly stocked gardening section is HUGE) "On the shelves." Boom, she was gone. "Umm, thanks so much." So, it would have taken her maybe 20-30 more seconds to say, "Aisle 4, in the front of the pots." or "Follow me and I'll take you to it since I'm already walking in that direction." Everyone here was very friendly and didn't mind the herds of looky-lous and all of my random questions about everything from MDF molding to grills. I like Lowe's because you can by one fastener if needed, they don't suck you into a pack of screws when you just one. I also find it to be more decorative than HD and you'll find things like small kitchen appliances at Lowe's that you won't find at HD. Of course time will tell, but I personally am very excited to now be living 1.5 miles from this Lowes. read more

In the great Home Depot vs. Lowe's faceoff, I'm more likely to choose Home Depot due to selection and staff helpfulness. This Lowes, however, is an exception. I've come to this Lowe's armed with little more than a 1 square inch paint chip and left with everything I needed to do a multi-room indoor paint job. While my custom paint was mixing, the paint department employee personally guided me to where I could find all the accoutrements: plastic sheeting, caulk, tape, etc. I've also come to this Lowe's with some complicated (for me) electrical and plumbing questions and left informed and with exactly the parts I need. Today I had my second excellent Lowe's delivery experience. Yesterday my washing machine failed (I determined it was not only the safety switch that was dead, but that the remainder of it was loosely held together by an amalgamation of rust, old fabric softener, and hairs, canine and human). I ordered online from this Carlsbad store; within 16 hours, Lowe's not only delivered a new one for free, but also picked up the pieces of the old one. I had a similar experience in ordering a replacement dishwasher from them about a year ago. Prices seem cheap enough on everything, about the same as Home Depot and less than most everywhere else except Costco. Returns haven't been a hassle when I've bought more parts than I've needed for a job and when a rug wasn't big enough. While occasionally the waits for assistance in some departments are long and that overall (but this store mostly excluded) the Home Depot staff seem to know more, I'm a fan of the Carlsbad Lowe's. Also, my Lowe's credit card gives me either 5% off a purchase or 18-months no-interest financing, because sometimes you need that extra time to pay off that 24-person jacuzzi or whatever. read more

Huge store with large selection and ample parking and with low numbers of staff, experience and overall customer service. I have been there 3 times in the past week. Each time, I have struggled finding someone who can help me, as there are so few associates around and had to go to the customer service desk to ask for them to call someone. In one of those occasions, nobody showed up for 10 min, so I left. The other time the associate who showed up in the Paint department gave me the wrong advice which resulted in me buying INTERIOR stain for OUTDOOR furniture (I realized it after using 1 Can to paint 3 chairs!!!). Luckily they refunded me the cost of the stain, although I wasted my time and effort. read more

Best Lowe's in so cal if you ask me, we usually use Lowe's and Home Depot 's all throughout Southern California for the company that I own and for the most part there all the same... I've been to the Lowe's here off Palomar Airport many times and every single time and they're I'm buying concrete in very large amounts, everyone is more than happy to help load as well as try and find the best deal for buying in bulk or just for regular purchases. I'm in and out and no more than 20 minutes which is incredible!!! I forgot the everyone's name at the pro counter but for the most part all of them are very kind which is hard to find at some of these home-improvement stores. read more

Really dissatisfied with Carlsbad Lowe's. Staff and customers not wearing masks. Had a sales person have the nerve to try approach us wearing plastic face shield with no mask at all. That is worthless with an airborne virus. Gi to check out, and cashier cannot seem to wrap up a customer with 3 items. After 10 minute wait he refuses to seek a price for items we had that were not properly marked. Finally leave the store only to run into two workers loading a truck with their masks below their chin. Never buy or give Lowes gift cards unless you wanna be ripped off!!!!! I bought something online using a $50 gift card. Turns out, the store didn't have it so they cancelled the order. No big deal, other than they didn't credit my gift card back!! I thought that this was just a mistake and that Lowes would make good at the store so I could use it to buy something else, but they said that it will take up to a week to put the money on the card from the purchase that was never made! They said it's their POLICY. I might be able to understand if I actually got the goods and returned them. Lowes is a rip off!! This store has the worst customer service I've ever seen. I live right down the street, and I've gone there for years now. The last 1-2 years, literally every time I've gone there: 1. There are not enough employees working customer service functions. This means that I have a question and no employee is available. I have to spend an unreasonable amount of time (10+ minutes) walking the store to find someone. 2. When I do find someone, EVERY SINGLE TIME, not only are they not helpful, they actually try to avoid both my girlfriend and I. 3. If we actually get their attention, then they will answer questions in an awful way. Basically, if they don't know the answer, they just give up and say "sorry, cant help you" or "go over to area X and ask a person over there." This is unacceptable customer service. This has happened over 10 times in a row now and we're really hating it. I frequent many places - restaurants, supermarkets, general stores, home improvement, etc... and this store has the absolute worst customer service of any place I've ever been to. There's a Home Depot nearby which is technically in Vista, but it is very close to Carlsbad off of Melrose. I've tried to go to Lowes over and over and end up going to Home Depot only to get far superior customer service, smiles, friendly employees, employees who ask if I need anything etc... Although I live closer to Lowe's I just drive to Home Depot at this point. In fact, I'm going to go and give Home Depot a great review because just as Lowe's blows it every time, they are outstanding every time. This Lowe's won't last another 5 years. read more

This review is for the kids clinic that they have once a month. My kids and I have been here twice so far and the staff has been so friendly. The first time we came, we were an hour too early, but the lady who ran the clinic was super nice and gave us the kits to take home and do with my kids. We also got some aprons. (The kits come with patches that you can iron onto the apron.) The next month we came to decorate pumpkins, which was great because they gave out stickers, which was a lot easier to work with with the toddlers. They also had some left over kits from previous sessions and we were able to take one home to do with the kids. Overall, we are having a great time at these clinics and can't wait for the next. read more
