I knew there are multiple reasons I shop at Home Depot. Not only are the employees rude at this Lowe's but there is always stuff in the way at the checkout. I bring my cart full of hundreds of dollars in merchandise and I couldn't get through to self checkout. I go to try to move a couple things and the employee at self checkout exclaims, " SIR! YOU CANT MOVE THAT! I say well how do I get through to checkout? All she says is, "you should just go to customer service to checkout." WOW just wow. I'm usually in a hurry and time is money. Popped into Lowe's to find paint hardener as we are clearing out what doesn't "bring us joy" in our house. Certainly 15 year old paint made that list. Lowe's actually had what we were looking for, only Lowe's was selling the product $1.00 per packet more than Home Depot. Seems like a lot of folks were working at Lowe's, however, customer service was poor and a lot of people were standing around chatting to one another. It also seemed like a younger crowd was employed and one employee even had her dog in the store, but maybe it was her support dog. Hard to tell these days. Always a support dog for something. The reason why I chose to go to Lowe's instead of Home Depot is that Lowe's made a large donation to minority owned business to reopen. I really wish this store's employees were more conscientious. I wasn't expecting much from lots of low ratings on Yelp. But I had a list of specific plants I wanted, and my regular nursery was all out of them (and they are expensive). So I visited Lowe's garden center early in the morning to avoid the crowd. The plant selection is decent, and price is excellent. The plants' condition is pretty good too. But I was missing several plants I really wanted to get, so I asked an associate. He didn't know and went to ask two female associates. Mind you, it's a very common plant, and I was nice enough to provide both the plant name and common name. The female associates looked each other and sneered, saying "Is that English?" and they don't address to me directly. Downright rude if not racist. Obviously they lack plant knowledge on top of courtesy. As I mentioned, the price is really good, and when I went home and checked the receipt, I realized that some plants had pretty good discount from the posted prices. I wish I knew! Ordered a washer and dryer and staff ordered wrong even when we confirmed right item (gas, not electric) and shocking it gets delivered wrong. Call the store and they "can't help" so go into the store the next day and they finally order us the right one but delivery is over a week out. No sorry, no empathy from staff just "it is what it is". Delivery day comes and 5 hours past the delivery window we still don't have a dryer. Call the store multiple times only to be told they have "no idea" where our item is and they won't do anything about it. Not even a sorry for the hassle. Manager as well as everyone we've dealt with in this mess have been less than helpful and don't have a clue about customer service. Will never step foot in a Lowe's again. To start, the delivery team showed up with an electric dryer. - Then there was confusion about where the gas dryer was. - Re-delivery of the correct item inexplicably cancelled with no notice - Rescheduled for a new date, no show - Item then sold to another customer, replacement item located - Rescheduled for another new date, no show In between all of this are DOZENS of phone calls, most of which have long hold times followed by a hang up. I have had the worst experience with this location. My husband and I spent several hours picking out 5000. Dollars in appliances to have a promise of delivery 3 times, two of which were cancelled without our notice after waiting all day for delivery. I spoke with the two assistant managers, and delivery dispatch to no avail. No compensation for not having running water in our kitchen, no refrigerator, and no stove for 10 days. My husband had taken everything out of the house for the first scheduled delivery. The incompetence of such a large company is inexcusable, and the frustration of being passed around from person to person with no resolve. It was the worst experience I've ever had when dealing with a company. We had to seek a refund and purchase somewhere else. Who wants appliances that have been loaded and unloaded from a truck back into a warehouse several times, no to mention the good faith of my customer experience that was lost from this lack of professionalism from all that were involved in the worst customer experience of my life. Worst customer service ever! Front desk customer service staff sent me to appliances desk and said she would call someone to meet me there. After waiting there for about 10 minutes, I walked further back and found estimator staff. I asked them for the appliances manager and she asked if I was looking for Kevin. I asked if Kevin was the appliances manager. She said he just walked by. I walked in the general direction calling out for "Kevin." A young man stopped and told me he was on his lunch break and I would have to wait another 10 minutes. This is after trying to get service for a brand new $1000+ Hisense refrigerator and making 6 separate calls to the manufacturer for service. I had to start over with each call getting a different person who would ask a different set of questions or suggest a different set of steps that I should take to try to fix it. Yesterday I went to the Lowe's closest to my home in search of a device for my television. They were all out. I went in search of an employee to help me find one and I spotted Donna working in one of the aisles helping another customer. When she was done she stopped what she was doing and walked across the store to help me find the device I was looking for she looked vigorously she went above and beyond even calling another employee and other stores to help find the device to no avail. Even though they didn't have the device I was still a very satisfied customer because of Donna's above and beyond service and her effort to help me exhaustively. Lowes on Kietzke is doing an abominable job of managing curbside pickup compared to other retailers. I wanted to do some shopping on Sunday night. Now, I don't entirely trust the listings online for the store- they have been wrong many times before. I prefer to look at the hours posted on the door, and observe the general activity. That's usually more accurate. So I went up and found that the door listed the times for the rest of the week, and when they open on Sunday, but not when they close. I'm at the store so I decided to just try the door- if it doesn't open, I know it's closed. Simple, right? I saw customers inside. Both sets of doors opened right up. This was at 7:58. I set foot inside and the employee at the customer service desk -immediately- stomped over to me yelling in a very aggressive way "HEY! YOU CAN'T BE HERE, YOU NEED TO LEAVE!" Then when she got closer, she stopped and - then- she explained "We are closed for the night." Her name was Alexis I had no way of knowing that beforehand. She was angry and aggressive, and approached in such a way that I Honestly thought she would attack me. It was an honest mistake, but she was acting like I was trying to break in by force. Every place I've ever worked, if they are closed either the door is locked or they politely inform you that they have closed and often apologize even. And these are places that kept their hours of operation clearly posted at the front door so there was -zero- room for confusion, unlike here where they have a blank spot for that nights hours. If this is how it works at Lowes, their reputation for customer service may not be very accurate. I certainly do not want to go there again. I'll go to home depot, where I'm not going to get yelled at for an innocent mistake. Absolutely the worst service possible. I bought a Frigidaire 13.9 cu ft refrigerator from the Sparks store (Order # 879000991, Item #: 1229622 Model #: FFHT1425VV) and paid for the protection plan they offer. The refrigerator died in one week. I contacted Lowes and they said since it died within 30 days it is under the manufacturers warranty (so why does Lowes offer a Protection plan if they defer to Frigidaire Warranty? Clearly a scam to screw its customers out of a little extra cash). So I contacted Frigidaire and they schedule a repair person to come fix it (2 weeks from date I called them). On that scheduled date, I waited all day for repair person. Nobody ever showed up or notified me. So I called again and they rescheduled for another repair date (another 2 week wait), Again, I waited all day and nobody showed up and no notifications. It has now been 2 months with a dead refrigerator in my kitchen. So I called Lowes again and asked about the Protection plan I paid for. I was told that since it is now past 30 days I am no longer protected by that plan. I was then told the protection plan is not from Lowes, so now I have to track down whoever handles the Protection plan to get a refund. Nightmare service. I will never shop at Lowes again. read more

Every time I have come here, I have been shocked by the customer service, or should I say lack thereof. On my most recent visit, I was in need of only one thing: a styrofoam hose bib/faucet cover to protect my outdoor spigot from freezing temps. What should have been a quick in and out turned into a circus. First, I went to the outdoor-supplies area and didn't find what I needed there, so I went outside to the garden center, walked around and again had no luck (I also had no luck finding anyone who worked there). Finally, I found a woman who worked in that section and asked her. She told me they were right next to the outside register and waived her hand toward where I had just come from. OK, maybe I missed it? I went back out there, walked around several times and nope, no bibs. Frustrated, I walked back into the main store toward customer service. On my way, I passed another employee and asked him. He said, "Oh yeah, they were on the end cap over there," again, waiving his hand in the general direction of the front of the store. Great! I was excited because he was confident about this, and all confident men are always right, right Ladies?? Uh, not so fast. My confident friend kept walking in the opposite direction while still waiving me off and I wandered on again, looking at EVERY end cap. No luck. I eventually did make my way to the customer service desk after logging about 10,428 steps, and the girl there was SO nice. She actually made me nearly fall over when she did the UNTHINKABLE--she came OUT FROM BEHIND HER DESK and WALKED WITH ME to where she thought they might be and guess what!?? They were there! It was a miracle, but a darn shame it took that long and that many people to help a girl out. But, oh, the stories I could tell about this ill-fated Lowes...mostly having to do with my military status. I must say I truly TRULY love that Lowes offers a military discount, and I appreciate that in recent times they have made the discount more "official" by having military patrons register online in order to verify our service. However, if you have the military/veteran discount access, then whatever you do, DON'T USE THE SELF-CHECKOUT LANE!!! (And if you ignore my advice, then whatever you do, TELL THE PERSON WORKING THE SELF-CHECKOUT LANE THAT YOU ARE MILITARY!) Seriously--the discount does NOT work at any self-checkout kiosk. (Don't get me started on how much I loathe self-checkout and feel everyone should automatically get a discount for scanning their own stuff...) In order to receive a military discount in the self-checkout lane, you must involve the person working there who will close out your transaction on the machine and have you move to her main cash register and complete the transaction there. It's a pain, and you'd think I'd have learned this after the first attempt, but no...it seems I will never learn because it is so rare that a line with an actual person scanning items will be open and available and not have a mile-long line. Speaking of real people, once upon a time I was in a real hurry to grab an item and then hit the road to get to the airport to catch an early morning flight. First, I LOVE that Lowes is open super early in the morning and that I can feel oh-so accomplished at 0630. However, when the person behind the cash register assumes (wrongly) that because you are receiving a military discount you must have a particular political leaning and then proceeds to bash a prior administration and espouse offensive (dare I say, racist?) opinions because he thinks you might share in the same offensive beliefs, well, it just gets your day started on the wrong foot and has you huffing and puffing even as the plane is taking off. Now, I will say that thanks to a friend that I vented to, who then vented publicly about this on Twitter, Lowes appropriately reached out to me to apologize for the incident. So, there's that, and it IS appreciated. But c'mon Reno--you are one of the MOST diverse counties in the state and one of the counties most watched on election night. To lump every veteran into a stereotype or to assume the military is not as diverse as the greater population from whence it comes (voluntarily, I might add) is just lazy thinking. Have I been back to this Lowes since that incident? Oh yes, many times, and I'm sure I will be back, but each time I begin the walk from my car to the entrance, I am always a little apprehensive about what craziness is about to transpire within those huge walls. read more

Delivery service is a total disaster: they send out damaged appliances or the wrong appliance, and delivery people are not local. Promised calls are not made, requiring repeated returns to the store because of the aforementioned phone issue. I'm into my third month of waiting for a washing machine that was promised to be in the warehouse and delivery was promised in less than a week. Now they can't seem to find it. I ordered a Vegas Golden Knights picture frame from Lowe's for in-store pick-up. I arrived and checked in for curbside pick-up. After 20 minutes of waiting I finally decide to go inside and just pick it up in there. The associate looks around for about 15 minutes unable to find my item. I wait another 25 while they go to the back to try to find my order. They then come out and say that there isn't anybody in receiving to ask, and they don't know what happened to the frame. I purchased kitchen cabinets. The sink base was not correct on the order. I went in and met with the designer who said she got the wrong cabinets removed and the correct ones ordered. I never received confirmation from her despite multiple emails and calls to the store. I finally found out that the associate moved to a virtual location and was unable to be contacted. None of the other cabinet associates were able to determine what had been done. There was a truck fire and all my cabinets had to be rebuilt. I finally received them, but am missing the sink base and a six inch cabinet. Lowe's can order the two cabinets for me now, but will only deliver them to Reno, not the final destination of Alaska, where the other cabinets went. I would have to figure out how to get them to Alaska on my own as Lowe's will not allow Diamond cabinets to ship less than 5 cabinets. I came to the store and I can't find anyone present to help with this. The Diamond cabinet people have been very helpful while Lowe's fails to return calls, or fix their mistake. Very unhappy with the service. Will update if I get a resolution. read more

Worst customer service. No one answers the phone and than they put you on hold forever . Ordered on line in May and it has been in store since June7. They have not processed it for me to pick it . You get transfer so many times and and some employees were rude. I will never do busy with Lowes. read more
