I came in today to buy paint and paint supplies. I had my hands full as I was heading to check out. There was a lady pointing me to the self checkout. I don't like doing self checkout for many reasons. It's cumbersome and usually you have to call for help. I was ringing my stuff in the self checkout and dropping some of the things I was buying. An employee by the name of Nasser was patiently standing behind me. He saw me struggling with self checkout. He smiles at me and I said frustratedly , where has customer service gone to? He jumped right out of line and took me to a cashier, that didn't have her light on at her register but took me anyway. Nasser than ran and got a cart for me to bring all my paint supplies to my cart . Now that's customer service, well done Nasser!!!! He truly gets what customer service is all about. I love Lowe's. Though in general, I'm a huge fan of hardware and home stores. So glad to have a Lowe's and an Ace right near me :) I pop into Lowe's all the time for plants and flowers, home goods, hardware, etc. I find they have fair prices and good sales. Lowe's - San Dimas Just went to Lowe's San Dimas to purchase a storage closet. The one I'm selecting is just under $200 and I plan to purchase at least one, possible two. The box is 175lbs with a sticker recommending getting assistance. So I walk up to the returns desk where one employee was on the store phone with a customer, the other employee (name tag was something like Gisele) was staring at her cell phone not noticing I was standing right in front of her. So her co-worker grabs her arm to let her know I'm standing directly in front of her and would like some assistance. She apologizes and pages someone to meet me at Aisle 30. As I'm walking over there I see an employee standing at Aisle 26, staring at his cell phone and I wondered if he was the employee who should respond to the page since there wasn't another employee within sight and he clearly wasn't doing anything. After a few minutes of standing next to the product I want to buy I walk up to the front registers and asked for some assistance loading up a storage closet. The young man tells me he will page someone and I told him we tried that already. He insisted he would get someone to help, so he pages and I walk back over to the aisle, passing the same employee at aisle 26 still looking at his cell phone. After a few minutes of standing next to the product I walk back up to the front registers and ask the same young man if he can help me. Just then two more employees approach, evidently one of them being a department manager and he insisted someone will come to help me. Then he gets on the mic and pages again for assistance at aisle 30. As I'm walking back there again I see the guy that had been at aisle 26 walking towards the front, going on break or ending his shift, and I go back to aisle 30 to wait. After 10 minutes I walk back to the front register and ask the young man if he can just come help me since everyone else is to busy looking at their cell phones. He assured me the department manager was looking for someone to help me but I saw the department manager, now in the paint area talking with the same associate he was with when he first attempted to call someone. So I went back to aisle 30 again for a short while and then left the store. They missed out on a $200-$400 sale. A real brilliant idea would be to have a store policy not allowing employees to be on their cell phones while on the floor. It's not just Lowe's, service in America at most places is absolutely horrible, especially in CA. Through my work I spent a good deal of time in London, England and China. Service in those countries is unbelievable. There are more people to help and more check stands open for customers than anyone could imagine. Lazy employees not understanding the concept of customer service and no store manager around to give direction or get involved. read more

I went to Return area to exchange for a bigger light and was told by the cashier I can only return here and have to purchase the new one at the check out registers. I've been in so many times recently - we started our garden a couple of weeks ago and have been expanding our patio. Alyssa at customer service/returns has been such a huge help our past two visits! I am pregnant and have total baby brain, and had to return a patio cushion (that I was dumb and cut the tag off of before properly checking to see if it even fit). She said it was perfectly ok to return as I had both the tag, brand new cushion and my receipt, bless her. Also forgot our military discount when purchasing our new grill last week, and when we went back in today she applied the discount for us retroactively. She's been so kind about all of it, and really made our experiences so wonderful. I went inside to make a return and was helped in customer service by a female by the name of CELENA She was very Rude and VERY short with me ( you know when someone is expressing empathy and " sincerely " wants to help you) As I asked questions, she never really looked directly at me, she kept her thoughts elsewhere as of her mind was COMPLETELY somewhere else... I asked for the assistance of a manager and she assured me that a manager was not gonna help me... I decided to just take my return as a " loss" because I just wasn't in the mood to take things further. I proceeded to the garden area and Brian followed us with me asking if I had received the asístanse I was looking for, I told him no- the person inside was NOT HELPFUL at all and INfact RUDE. I only visited the plant nursery. I liked how things were labeled clearly. Some plants were lively and beautifully green but some we're looking a little and dry. I picked up some beautiful lavender and some succulents as a gift for a friend that were in a cute little pot. Prices are reasonable and for a busy holiday there was plenty of parking by the nursery. The cashier was helpful and polite. I didn't get help from anyone else but there was plenty of staff everywhere. read more

Pre-Covid, I purchased a wine fridge as this was the only big box store that had a fridge with the exact dimensions I needed. I went in to pick it up in work clothes: a suit and heels. The associates wouldn't be bothered to help me get it on a cart. The few that I asked for help said that they were injured and couldn't pick up heavy items. Sometime later I went in to buy the blinds that can be cut to size. Despite the box clearly stating they were intended to be cut to size the associate was saying they couldn't be cut in their store and recommended I cut them myself at home. With my electric table saw? This morning I went in to buy a shower faucet combo system. There were none in the space for the item. I asked for help and the associate looked in the same space and said they had none. Luckily I kept looking around and found many misplaced a few spots away. No one cares. Blah. I bought a microwave in January 2022 as I was remodeling my Kitchen. my Cabinets were delayed so I put the microwave and other items in storage. Last week 8/15/2022 I was able to try to finish my Project. When I opened the microwave, it was damaged. I took it back to the store I purchased it from, and they pretty much told me "Tough luck" as they have a 48-hour return policy on appliances. So, too bad for me! Check your stuff if you buy from Lowe's, I know I'll consider alternatives from now on. They used to be my go-to store. I had them do my windows and spent about 9K and that was a 9 month ordeal " delays" in 2021. During the Covid Stay at Home Order, Lowe's was a life saver. Lowe's had everything I needed except toilet paper. I liked how Lowe's isn't as crowded as Home Depot. It's also much more cleaner and organized than Home Depot as well. The employees are all very helpful and they make sure everyone is 6 feet apart. One time there was a huge line and they came to each person with a free water bottle and personally apologized for the delay. The return area is pretty fast and easy with no issues whenever I go. They tend to always run out of disinfectant spray and wipes for the carts so that's one area they need to improve on. Frank is the man. We talked a lot while I was there but I appreciated everything he had to say. He taught me how to select good boards. He explained the differences from each type of wood sold at the store. He maintained a really friendly conversation the entire time that we were working with him. His guidance allowed me to choose each product that I purchased that day. He invited me back in case I need help with any other future project. I will take him up on that because of his level of experience and knowledge. Additionally the checkout lady with purple hair was super sweet and made me feel very comfortable. I didn't catch her name but she deserves a lot of credit as well. I'd like to mention that I have previously only shop at Home Depot but after this experience I am strictly going to Lowe's. BUYER BEWARE! Bought two "Brand New" Koehler toilets from this store. When loading them into the flatbed cart, I noticed the tape on one box was lifted a bit. I asked the employee: This isn't an open-box that was returned is it? He flat out looked me straight in the eye and said no. When my plumber installed them, one had obviously been opened and the good hardware had been replaced with regular crappy bolts. Had to go buy a Koehler replacement kit, with the right hardware, so the nuts wouldn't rust in the tank. Also, after installation, but before use, found a scratch on the side of the same toilet. So, yep! The guy totally lied to me. Now I'm stuck. Recommend you decline any product that is opened in any way, as Lowes obviously doesn't check the product when it is returned. read more
