Second Update: A week and a half later. They had said "So, sorry. We're totally gonna get it right this time." The delivery person was supposed to call me yesterday to give me a 2-hour window for delivery today. When they hadn't called by late morning, I called Lowes and they said delivery should happen today but they have no idea when and cannot get in touch with the delivery person but they will call me when they have a clue... Back to two stars. I just don't think I could risk doing business with them again at this point even if I saved a few bucks. At this point, it would have been a lot cheaper to just go with another seller. Update: The more senior staffer called me just now and added another 10% off. So, I am bumping this to a 3-star (from a 2-star). Meh. I ordered an item to be shipped to the store that ended up not fitting in my vehicle. So, I asked them to ship it to me. Bear in mind, they charged me $80 and promised it would go out on their delivery truck two days later. But, that was worth it to me to both have it in a timely manner and not have to worry about it. Two days later, knowing I needed to be home to receive it, I took off work and waited. When they didn't show up by midday, I called. Apparently, they had shipped my item back and re-ordered something smaller (or something like that). I cannot imagine how that happened since our communication about sending it to my house was clear AND how would they come up with some other smaller item without asking me to agree to buy and and making the payment happen... Anyway, the customer service rep who I spoke with offered to refund my shipping fee and just deliver it for free. That is at least a decent response. Doesn't negate the fact that I wasted time at home, now have to reschedule the work day where I was to use it, and have to do a bunch of other coordinating. So, yeah... I can't say this was totally unexpected, the reviews for this Lowes seemed to indicate this could happen and you get what you pay for. read more

Been to this store several times and continue to be frustrated and disappointed enough to write a review. I have continuously received lousy and rude customer service in the lawn and garden department as well as extremely slow service in the paint department. They behave as if the customer is an inconvenience. Not a problem I will go down the street or over to Ace. read more

I just spent over 3 hours trying to have a question answered. I had the item number in hand, and this was the only Lowe's in the entire region showing this bathroom vanity in stock. (Long story, but I need one urgently and this is the only one I could find to fit the plumbing for installation TOMORROW.) At 4:45pm, I was told the only guy who could help me was on break, but they took my number and said he would call. After an hour, I called back, after long menus and holds I was told he was working on something and he'd call in 10 minutes. No call, and I gave him 90 minutes this time. Called again, put on hold until it rolled to the operator twice, finally thought I'd reached someone but after 9 minutes on hold, I heard two hellos before being disconnected. By now it's 7 pm and I need it for tomorrow. I call back and ask for a Manager. Caroline was very nice and promised repeatedly to call me back in about 20 minutes. I called after 35 and she hadn't looked into it yet. I stayed on the line for 10 minutes, while she walked around trying to find the vanity that showed as in-stock. She never found it. Now it's almost 8:00 and I have no vanity. Just a searing headache. Terrible service, I'm almost relieved they won't get my money! read more

Great selection of DIY and home improvement goods but the consistently DO NOT have a actual cashier on duty, today there were 3 staff trying to sort out the terrible self checkout system, yet they were incapable of opening an actual cashier staffed checkout, this is why people go elsewhere read more

Cashier Nikki needs more training in customer service. She was busy talking to other people, while ringing my items, didn't really acknowledge me.. The staff at the customer service desk are incredibly rude. We waited in line for 15 minutes (enough time for me to go all the way to the back of the store to get the gas hose connector that we wanted to exchange) without this woman acknowledging any of the customers waiting. During this time she chatted with a co-worker about breaking some return items, to which the other staff member told her to "stop being spicy, why you breaking my stuff" jokingly. Then, another staff member complains about not being on the schedule so the woman at customer service walks away from the counter to go look at a schedule to see if "there way anywhere to put her". SHE STILL HAD NOT ACKNOWLEDGED ANY CUSTOMERS STANDING IN LINE. At this point, I was upset and went looking for a manager. The manager, Marcos came in, and I explained our frustration to which he replied "we are short staffed". This is not an excuse. It takes 2 seconds to tell a customer you will be right with them. We had just spent $700 buying an oven and we will NEVER come to this location again. read more

On 8/18/19 at 10:00am I went into this location to return some treated trim that I didn't need. Mind you this is my go to store, I shop here every time I need hardware or supplies, even though there are 2 other Lowe's within reach. I love April who sometimes mixes my paint she's top notch, yesterday's experience with her was amazing btw. However, on 8/18 a young black woman was sitting at her register in customer service, by herself, and completely ignored us when we walked up to returns with our boards. It took another associate to walk up, mind you nobody else was in line or working with this girl behind the counter; so it wasn't a matter of she was helping somebody else or even putting go-backs away, luckily the Asian woman has the sense to actually work came back within a minute of us arriving. Not to mention the girl rolled her eyes when we walked up and looked away!!! I do not stand for poor customer service, especially as a good paying and loyal customer, who sticks with their main stores. I hadn't interacted with this girl before, but at that point I said to myself I'm not doing her job by saying hello or initiating the transaction. Fast forward...Yesterday 8/29/19, I met the same girl at returns around 3:30pm, she had the same attitude as before, definitely a pattern. Right away she rolled her eyes when I went to the counter and had an unpleasant look on her face. Before she even knew what my return was, she had attitude, the Asian lady had walked away unfortunately, so no good service this day. I'd suggest having a talk to this young female about how she's destroying a good feeling at this Lowe's location, which is one of the best as far as feeling like it has a sense of community (they're a small team but the main players are great at what they do) and welcoming to myself for many years. I will be going to other locations for while, I know there's always going to be people who have attitude, but at least my money won't support employees wages who seem to think being rude to a customer is a part of her job description. read more

I agree with reviewer "Tom T" below. When the store first opened, customer service ranked well, you were greeted and asked if you needed assistance. Now? Not so much. Or, not at all. It's getting hard to locate and collar anyone to get help. Such a huge departure from the old Yardbirds, or even the Ace on Tennessee. Now days, the Pini Hardware in Novato (Ace) and Steve's Hardware in St. Helena (Another Ace) are the place to go if you want knowledgable help. While these much smaller stores don't feature 800 acres of stuff, the help you do receive more than makes up for it. Granted, Lowes in Vallejo is cleaner, and better lit than the cavern that is Home Depot; where you have to trap an employee and taunt them with doggie treats to get help. But, the well-lit environs don't compensate for the paucity of staff. read more

I am usually very understanding about poor customer service at big box stores since I have worked at a few. With that said, if I could give 0 stars I would for this particular location. Went in for some items that they didn't even have displayed on the floor. Found the items ourselves since there weren't any associates in sight. Asked someone from flooring to help us get the items down from the top of the shelves. Had to argue with the associate that the items were there (he didn't want to have to do all that work). He helped us with 1 of the 3 items and then went to help other associates while we waited for 45 minutes. He kept saying that he needed a spotter even though he was with two other associates. I Ended up finding someone and asking them to spot him. This associate found my original associate and told him that I needed something and walked away. There is even more to this story but long story short, it took 2.5 hours for me to end up getting my items. Needless to say that I will not return to this location read more

Horrible customer service , phone rings or your put on hold and then hung up on. I ordered lumber and a table saw. They delivered the lumber and a router, was told I can return it to my local store by the delivery guy , only to find out the next day I couldn't. After the San Bruno store helped and got a hold of Ken in delivery , they say they will bring it the next day. The next day comes , no show. After 4 1/2 hours and giving up on calling, I got a hold of them the following morning. Now they don't have the table saw and can change it with another brand. I agreed, for delivery Saturday. Now they call and tell me the delivery had been cancelled. I told them I didn't cancel, and they agree to deliver it today, I told them I will be gone during the time they can deliver , if I put the router behind my gate , can they pick it up and drop the table saw, no they can't do that. Here we are at step one again , scheduling for Monday. Unbelievable service. read more

I don't understand the purpose of this store. It's like they don't want money. I went in trying to find some blinds and some materials for building a barn door. There are no employees here and when you do find them they just walk by like race horses with blinders. Tried using the HVAC kiosk to get a quote on a new central ac unit and its broken. Even though the custom blinds I wanted are cheaper here I think I'll just pay the extra 15-20 bucks at Home Depot. read more

We went to this store because Vacaville branch ran out of window hardware we needed. Home improvement clerk in this Vallejo branch was the opposite of the very friendly and helpful clerk in Vacaville's similar department. I would write a separate review for Vacaville but it's not showing up yet on Yelp. Anyway, going back to the female clerk in the Vallejo store, this person was not willing to help beyond telling customers where certain window treatments are. If there's nothing on the shelf, she doesn't offer available options to get what the customer needs. Another incident with this store several months ago is a correction that needed to be done on what we just purchased. The cashier misread the price on the carpet we bought and could not correct it on his register. We were sent to Customer Service. The woman there was having difficulty with correcting the transaction. The male manager who was joking around with another employee a few feet away did not bother to help us even with us looking at him to help his employee at the counter. Twenty minutes wait for Customer Service to fix their own employee's negligence. Wait is compounded by the manager's own negligence. read more

We bought a stove and fridge with delivery and install scheduled for Friday from 12-2. No call, no show at 2. We called ourselves only to find out they are running "a bit" late which she said would be 2 hours. The delievery man - a Hispanic short man named Alan and his partner arrived without the gas line kit, despite us paying for the kit at the store. How was this supposed to be installed without a gas kit? Alan had no answer but "I'm only the delivery guy". Our friends discerned that he wanted to leave and they were there asking questions and were trying to help us troubleshoot and our friend asked Alan to please wait and let us call Lowe's to see about a solution. Alan cursed using an "F" word in front of my 4 year old and left our old oven pulled out from the wall, and said he "I'm going to call the cops" what? How unprofessional is that? Alan proceeded to pack up his truck and LEAVE with not only my stove but also my fridge!! When we got to Lowes and met Christine the manager, her customer service skills were just as bad, she said she already heard Alan's side of the story and his story is quite different. Well of course it is! She also refused to listen to me, and cut me off stating "let me speak" But who has OUR merchandise that I have already paid for Christine? Went to Lowes today to look at some patio furniture and buy some knee pads for when I kneel on asphalt for my photography. I sat in furniture for about 30-45 minutes while my mom looked.. Neither one of us were asked if we needed help with anything or if we wanted to purchase anything. After that I was walking to the front of the store and asked an employee walking past where the knee pads where and was told hardware (could've been friendly and less why are you bothering me) so I walked over and didn't see anything so left. Yes, the store is bright and nicely laid out. However, where are the employees? Every time I go there and need a sales associate, I need to run all over the store to find one available. Two nights ago my wife and I went to buy a shower stall, waited around for 30 minutes before someone could help us. Then we were told they didn't have the shower pan in stock by Fairfield did. So we hightailed it to Fairfield. Turns out they didn't have it either, so we went to Vacaville. Tonight the same thing happened and to top it off, they tell us the shower walls we needed to order will no longer be carried and restocked. This was after we were told to go to Fairfield to buy the base because the Vallejo store didn't have it in stock. What the F%$%*K? I'm taking all my business to Home Depot for the rest of our remodel. Sorry Lowe's. We tried to give you a chance but you failed. read more

My husband and I are working on putting a glass block window in our bathroom. We had a deadline of two days from now, since our contractor would only be available until Saturday, and we didn't have a whole lot of notice. Apparently glass blocks have become passe, in that you cannot find these suckers anywhere. After being told that the Cotati Lowes has them, and driving up to purchase them, we were led astray! They didn't have any. Now panicking, we called several local glass store, again to no avail. However, a beacon of light came to fruition, going by the name of Tiffany. Turns out this Lowes had them, we were able to purchase over the phone, and we're going to pick them up tomorrow. Tiffany was fantastic, extremely helpful, and saved our hides. read more

I was a Home Depot customer for 20 years and switched over to Lowe's because they were helpful and convenient and in fact worked with them very well for a decade or more. Today, I called and called, put on hold for 5-10 minutes and then was hung up on. The operator hung up promptly, is that better or worse? If I could give Lowe's customer service a 0 I would. I bought a shed for my back yard and it came in today. I called Lowe's to inquire about getting a contractor to come and put the shed together. According to 5 people in the store and one person over the phone I could call into Lowe's customer service and they would help / or tell me how I could get a contractor to come out and put my 201 lb shed together, that had to be brought to my house on a forklift. When I got a hold of Customer Service I was told the only shed that could be put together was the one that cost over $2000 and you had to come in and sign a contract. Not the one I paid over $400 for and had shipped to me over the Internet. This women that works for this company did not know I was in the store for and hour talking to the employees before making the choice to buy the shed online. I did not get a chance to really say anything. The final straw was when I asked her her name and she said her name was Customer Service and hung the phone up in my face. That was 30 to 45 minutes ago. If this is what this company call great customer service I will never shop here again and I will tell friends not to. It would have been nice to be told my $400.00 shed did not qualified for a contractor to come out and put it together because I would have brought it somewhere else. Where I know I would have gotten good customer service and I could have gotten someone to put it together. read more

First the delivery; they showed up right on time , they were clean, fast and took away my old washer and frigerator. I wish all delivery services were this good. Lowe's customer service is ridiculous. I highly recommend you go into the store to purchase any appliance. . . do not order online because if there is any kind of problem you will have to deal with their customer service department. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We have spent the last 2+ months trying to get a refund from Lowes in Cotati for a Samsung stove that we purchased there, which died less than a year after purchase. Samsung agreed to the refund/exchange for a new product almost immediately, but it took at least 20 more phone calls to Lowes and about 6 more weeks to make that happen. I left multiple messages for multiple store managers, and never did get a return call. I finally found someone at Lowes Corporate in North Carolina who listened to me, stepped in, and I suspect rattled some cages. A sheepish assistant manager finally gave me a cash payout today. The management of this place is rotten to the core, this level of incompetence is really stunning. Is Lowes a front for something else entirely? Are they all on drugs? I'll never know because I'm never setting foot in any Lowes again. read more

Yelp needs to allow you to give a store zero stars. I have never had a worse customer service experience in my life. I understand that things are crazy during covid and that with everyone being at home now, there is a huge demand in home improvement, but the customer service at this place is straight garbage. I ordered two appliances that I'm convinced are just never going to be delivered. They were supposed to arrive at my home in early December and every time the delivery date comes around, they push it out another few days. After what seems like 300 calls with the most useless employees I've ever talked to in my life, one person finally did their job and walked to the warehouse to see if it's there. Apparently it's sitting right there and she reassured me the delivery date would not get moved. Sure enough, my delivery for tomorrow was moved again for liuterally the 10th time, that's not an exaggeration. Apparently the supervisor is going to call me back, which I told her is the biggest joke I've ever heard. She was unphased by any of it. They don't care, they're still making a killing, what does it matter to them if one customer paid for a few appliances that are just never going to be delivered (I'm sure I'm not the only one though). With the demand in home improvement projects, these stores are literally hiring anyone, I can do their job better than them. Please if you want to keep your sanity, avoid this store, shop small/local. I'm cancelling my orders. read more

I broke a copper pipe while changing out a spigot. Never used a torch or knew what sweating a pipe meant! Al in plumbing is amazing!!! Most knowlegeable, friendly, and patient customer service i've EVER encountered. He walked me through sll the steps of replacing the pipes and joints and what not -- even showed me how to sweat and weld on a new copper pipe! I couldn't believe what i was experiencing -- very rare these days. Long story short, AL coached me through the whole process of getting my self out of the plumbing hole that i was in --- Thank you Al and Lowes. read more
