You know, we like this place but it has some definite drawbacks. They're totally indifferent to the needs of the customer. You order two burgers and an order of fries and they bring out the fries right away but the burger doesn't come for another half hour. They of course see nothing wrong with that because they think they're doing us a favor. You wait in line to order at the bar which is fine but then you have to wait in line again to pay instead of having some sort of app like most restaurants. It's not like the food is that great but it is good. We pretty much go there cuz it's a nice patio in Beaverton but I won't take much for me to go somewhere else if I have the opportunity. I downloaded this app just so I can write this review. I've been Into this location a handful of times and it's the same underwhelming experience each time..HORRIBLE service, I mean unfathomably bad. Every time I went up the bar to order I was treated like I was putting the server through such an unbearable task to place an order. It was bizarre, almost like I had done something to them personally. Wish I could say that something like this was a one-off, but it's been every time I've popped in, which is a shame because they have a great atmosphere in there. Aside from this if you're lucky enough to get served by the guy with tats and tied up hair, he's solid. Everyone else in there puts off the strangest condescending attitude. I'm by no means a "let me speak to your manager" type but my god would the rest of the staff please do everyone including yourself a favor and QUIT! This place has so much potential to be great. After countless people recommending this place, we had to try it. First: beers, many MANY beers. Even if you're a picky know-what-you-want-hate-everything-else kind of beer person, I would wager you'll find *something* you'll like. There is wine available, along with a decent selection of ciders, sours, and hard seltzers. Now that drinks are out of the way - there's also food, and there's some really good options. To note: I didn't see a TON of vegetarian options, but they are there (in the form of fries, tots, falafel, salads, and bowls). I was jonesing for a veggie burger, but the falafel burger seemed to be it. It was OK, not the best I've had - a bit mushy in the middle but nice and crispy on the outside. Here I sit, just before Fourth of July weekend, enjoying a stout and a smash burger at the place with easily the best beer selection in all of Beaverton, and I can't figure out who these people are who have a terrible time here. I have questions for them: 1. How did you order at bars before this place existed, and why do you expect this one to send a hostess and dedicated waiter in your direction? 2. Why would you order a nitro IPA--simply a regular IPA served on a nitrogenated tap to curb bitterness--if you don't know what it is... and then blame the bar for your distaste for it? 3. Take a preexisting labor shortage, add summer crowds to it and then add people who can't remember how to order at a bar: Are the people serving you your food really responsible for any of the above? 4. You saw dust on the light fixtures?! How many bars do you do that white-glove test on, Jeeves? 5. A Shake Shack burger on par with Loyal Legion's is now $9. You went into a bar and ordered a $12 burger. What was your expectation there? 6. If it takes you 15 minutes to "circle" for parking, maybe expand that circle? 7. Who comes to a bar looking for a volume deal on dog biscuits? 8. Why don't you know the measurement for a half pint (1 pint = 16 ounces, half of 16 is...)? 9. Since when does cauliflower have wings? Does it migrate for the winter? I am 100% grateful that the staff has sheltered me from this squad of morons they have to deal with on a fairly regular basis. Loyal Legion couldn't have anticipated the steep drop-off in IQ points once it rolled over the West Hills, but the Venn diagram of Washington County high school dropouts, casual dining chain aficionados and Watson Street Yelp reviewers is damn near a circle. We'll always keep coming back here for the wide selection of beer and whiskey, the just-enough pub bites and the reservation-only cocktail bar most of these knuckle draggers don't know about. But, eventually, we should come here for a full day just to savor the comedic value of watching people walk in, look confusedly at the giant bar in front of them, wonder where the hostess is, and then ask aloud if they think this place will serve their 6-year-old some pancakes or sell them some stale waffles to take home to their bloodhound. For every five people who walk into a Beaverton offshoot of a Portland establishment and know what they're doing, there's one who still finds life a funny, funny riddle. read more

Service isn't good. A lot of weird tricks in their beer selection to make you perceive a greater value than you're getting -- glassware has the same shapes but comes in different sizes so you think you're paying for 16 oz but it's actually 12 oz, for example. The bar ordering is weird because there aren't really designated order spots, so you're inevitably ordering over someone seated right in front of you to get to the bartender. This wouldn't be so bad if the place weren't criminally understaffed because it's hard to even get one of their people's attention. I get that most places are understaffed, but I'm not going to give a place free points just because it isn't offering its people benefits or competitive compensation to manage turnover. I think some of them alternate shifts between this location and the Portland location, which means on top of not having enough help, they're paying their wages away on gas for the commute -- not exactly a great recipe for a high morale waitstaff. Food took forever, with the order being wrong (I ordered a chicken sandwich and they put a few chicken nuggets in it instead of a chicken filet. They only acknowledged this when I asked about it, that they ran out of filets, without an apology.) I originally came for the patio, which once I arrived made me feel like cattle on a commercial farm, with rows of cheap bench seating and no real creative consideration. There are several independent restaurants and bars in the area that are well worth the time. I really wanted to like this place, because on paper it seemed to have everything I want in a watering hole, but my group left feeling like we should have just gone somewhere else. read more

We've been twice now and it is an absolute NIGHTMARE. I may literally have nightmares. When you walk in, you walk into a crowded bar with people trying to figure out what to do. Hostess? Seat yourself? Order how? We've been twice so we knew what to do this time. You have to push your way through the crowd to get a bartenders attention. There you order your food and drink, and that's when the real fun starts. You have to fight with everyone else for the ONE table that's open. But there aren't any, so Everyone is hovering over the lucky people at their tables. How awkward for the people who actually have tables? Then you have to hope your food won't arrive while you're standing there. This is no way to run a restaurant. A bar? Sure, maybe. But this way of operating is mAddening. There is plenty of seating though, just check in the back area or outdoor seating! The people who work there are friendly and you can always ask where to check for seating. Used to be a decent spot before the word was out, now it's taken over by kids an parents hosting baby showers. Don't get me wrong, I'll stop by occasionally during dead times. Good selection, price is steep but don't expect to have to have conversations with the staff if you enjoy talking whiskey. They know very little, if not anything about their selection. This place is a great addition to Beaverton downtown. This place can get packed but they have great options of beers, ciders etc. on tap, wine and cocktails. They have a spacious outdoor patio. They do serve food - burgers, salads, appetizers etc. The bartenders has always been kind to me and food service might take a bit but when your busy, I expect that and isn't a big deal. read more
