The pork chop is pretty small too; I wish they were bigger pieces like at most Pho restaurants. Nonetheless, it was so good and paired perfectly with their house made chili oil. My wife loved her combo pho which had a nice, tasty broth, generous portions of beef and other meats, etc. Lastly, my son loved his kids rice & beef; the beef was sweet like bulgogi. I think every table should automatically have the chili oil on deck though because it enhances the flavors and just tastes delicious. This place operates cafeteria style, where you choose your primary protein for your bento, and the sides are all laid out in front of you to choose from. You can pick up to 3 sides. You can just tell everything is made with care and all the ingredients are super fresh. The family speaks mandarin as well! Since it was my first time there, I took a look at what others were ordering and it seemed like one of the popular sides was the bean sprouts. They were indeed super refreshing! I went with the tofu for the second side and for the third side, I chose the braised egg for my husband and the eggplant for me. Rice is something too because it tastes better than the one we usually have at home. About the drinks, there weren't many options besides water, sodas, teas, and other beverages you can see from the refrigerator. We ordered miso ramen, bbq chicken and chicken katsu plate, and crab Rangoon and chicken kara-age appetizers, then shared everything. Total bill was about $60 after tax. The food didn't blow us away, but service was quick and portions were decent. My daughter didn't eat much of her miso soup, and we ended up taking most of it and some of the Kara-age home. Be careful parking on the street as the City of Pleasanton has special weekend no-parking hours because of the long lines for meadowlark dairy nearby (we got a $50 ticket!).
