The food is very much like eating at home, and the service was friendly too. 1. First came the free Vegetables Pancake - simple with scallions and shredded carrots but very tasty. Slightly chewy but not oily. Their banchan has maybe 5 dishes but were all good. Even our 5yo son scarfed up all the pickled daikon. 2. Definitely recommend the Vegetables Gimbap for appetizer - like a sushi roll but packed with pickled veggies, tofu, and egg. 3. The Large BBQ chicken came on a sizzling plate. Chicken had a but more sauce than I'm used to, but otherwise very juicy. It also not excessively charred like other places. 4. Wife enjoyed the mild pork tofu soup with egg. Definitely eat this with rice like they do in those K-Drama shows. Parking is available in the shared lot behind the restaurant entrance. Nice quiet little hole in the wall, I ordered short ribs which were very delicious it came with all the sides and steamed rice that stayed warm in the gonggi (metal bowl). They have TV to watch your favorite sports games. The service was very good and friendly. Will return soon. read more

This little mom and pop restaurant sure knows Korean food. We had a very comforting and enjoyable dinner. Our dishes were incredibly delicious. The restaurant was full when we stopped in for dinner on a Saturday. We were happy to wait for a table to be cleared since we had our hearts set on eating here. The ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. If it's prime meal time, it's not a place you should go if you're in a hurry. Our kind server took our order but since all the other tables were full plus they were filling large take-out orders, we knew it would be a while because the kitchen was super busy. We waited for quite some time until they brought out a vegetable pancake and apologized for the wait. We didn't mind as the interior was cozy and relaxed. My husband's tea arrived next and then after some time, our main meals. My husband ordered the beef dolsat and I ordered the beef tofu soup. Our nice assortment of banchan arrived with our main dishes. A raw egg is brought to the table so if you like an egg inside your tofu soup, you should crack it and mix it in immediately after your soup is delivered to the table so it will cook. Our dishes were sooo delicious. I enjoyed every sip of my soup and it stayed very hot until the end. It warmed me up nicely. My husband also thoroughly enjoyed his dolsat. It had the signature crunchy rice crust at the bottom of the hot stone pot so he was delighted. He poured his tea in and truly enjoyed those last few special bites. I am happy to see this place is still a popular spot as we used to eat here often over the last couple of decades. The employees (owners?) are very kind, patient and hardworking. Family run restaurant with friendly service and an adorable, homey interior. I used to come here a lot growing up and I remember falling in love with Korean pancakes at this restaurant for the first time. After living in LA and having easy access to Koreatown for 4 years, I knew my standards were going to be pretty high coming back. Their seafood pancake is still pretty good, but it's mostly pancake and not all that much seafood. Their kalguksu was good, but again mostly noodles and minimal toppings. Their beef bibimbap was sadly mostly just rice and really quite bland. The amount of toppings/meat/vegetables that we got in the bibimbap was really disappointing. I can't emphasize enough how much rice there was compared to the rest of the bowl. If you're craving Korean food in Livermore, this place gets the job done. I'll never mind going back to support a small business, but it really doesn't compare to Ktown LA unfortunately. read more

Since I moved away from Livermore, I haven't been able to visit as frequently. But my bf and I always miss this place and make an effort to visit from SF as often as possible. This place is SO good. A true mom and pop shop. I prefer my Korean food more basic, more home-y. I don't want KBBQ AYCE, or cheese on my ddukbokki, or loud shiny metallic seating and design. The flavor in the seafood tofu soup was SO good. The broth was so delicious and felt good to my soul. I loved everything from the service to the five banchan. Really enjoyable Korean food. The restaurant is anything but fancy, but the food is excellent and compared to the other newer Korean restaurants in town, reasonably priced. We moved from Livermore 2+ years ago, but visited yesterday and opted to eat here vs all the other restaurants in town, and were pleased to find everything we ate to still be top notched. A very average Korean restaurant. My family and I decided to try this place out for dinner after shopping in Livermore on 10/29/2022. It wasn't busy when we walked in at around 5:45 pm, but it took quite a while before someone acknowledge us. Eventually, we were seated at a table near the kitchen. The interior was cozy and clean. The decor and ambiance had a nice homey vibe. Our server was a teenage boy and probably the son of the owner. Kudos to him for working at the family business on a Saturday evening instead of doing normal teenage stuff. We each got a dolsot bibimbap with different meat and shared a seafood pancake and some fried beef potstickers. The pancake was thin and quite good. The edges were crispy, and I could taste the seafood. The potstickers were so-so. They tasted like the frozen ones sold at Costco. I had the beef dolsot bibimbap and it was meh. The rice wasn't browned long enough to be crispy. It tasted like a regular bibimbap. The banchans that came with the meal were very average as well. As far as service was concerned, it was lackluster. But I am going to give the young boy a break since he's not a professional server. All things considered, this was not a memorable meal. The food was average at best and service could use some improvement. A return visit has been ruled out since there are better options in the Dublin/Pleasanton area. We recently returned to Livermore from out of state. We ordered take out from our favorite restaurant, Korean BBQ and we were not disappointed! We had short ribs, bulgogi, jap chai, spicy pork, and vegetable pancakes. The flavors were exceptional as always and the portion sizes were such that we had plenty remaining for a second meal. This is a small, family owned restaurant on the edge of downtown Livermore. We came here at 5pm when it first opened. There was only one man taking orders and setting up tables, so it took a bit of time for him to take our orders and prepare the plates, utensils, and water. It also took around 30min before our food was served to us. We got the kimchi pancake and veggie potstickers as appetizers. Both were quite crispy and went well with the dipping sauce. Then our main dishes of bbq pork, bulgogi, and seafood tofu soup arrived, and each came with a container of rice. They also gave us an array of side dishes to accompany the meal. All items tasted good, so we were very content with the meal. The items are also reasonably priced, so I'd recommend this place if you want classic Korean dishes like bbq and tofu soup. read more

The food was delicious and it seemed like a cute mom & pop restaurant. We ordered the seafood pancake and bulgogi. + Seafood Pancake (3.5/5): The taste was definitely there, but some parts of the pancake were a bit undercooked and mushy. My friends and I called in for a takeout order from Korea BBQ & Tofu. The restaurant, which was a cute mom's and pop's spot, was busy when we arrived to pick up the order. Parking at the front was kind of a hot mess (e.g. people making their own lanes to pick up their to-go orders), but I did find the parking lot in the back. Our food order was ready when we got there, which was much appreciated. We ordered several items including bulgogi, Korean short ribs, seafood pancake, japchae, cucumber salad, and a soup. Had some new coworkers with me today and they haven't really experienced Korean food other then the SoCal all-you-can-eat style of flash frozen meats over a grill at your table. So, grabbed the Yelp! machine, plugged in my parameters, and let it go to work. I must've driven past this place 100 times and not even realized it was there. Located on Old First Street, it's on the backroads to the 580 commuter traffic. Parking was tight in front, but plenty in the back (in our recent rains, this was a lake, but not that deep - just a warning). Ordered the spicy pork, bulgogi and galbi for our mains, eating family style so they can try all the flavors, shrimp fried rice, gyoza and shrimp pancake. I didn't say a thing and let them go at it. Gyoza and pancake came out first. It is fun to watch the faces of people trying something for the first time. I mean if you heard "shrimp pancake", you might scratch your head. But then to try it and love it, well that's exactly what happened. It was a hit! The meats came out next on sizzling platters and those were very delicious too. Another big hit. They said it was definitely better than the SoCal style all-you-can-eat. Inside has about 10 tables and it was busy around the lunchtime period so plan ahead. Hidden gem... Small spot, easily can drive pass and miss it, as it's located in a small lot so be prepared for limited parking. Still free so that's good! Food was good and tasty. Not too many sides and portion size can be a bit bigger, but for the two of us, it worked. Still had a bit of leftovers took home and my friend whipped up some Kim chee fried rice next day. We came during lunch and place wasn't crowded, just few people inside. Service good. Stumbled here as I had to park somewhere to get on my phone and search for a place to eat with my friend who's visiting...she says, why don't we just eat here...so said yes, let's! Seafood pancake - 5/5 def my favorite! The portion size was huge and I love how they make it very thin so it's very crispy and not just overly heavy with batter, the sauce that came with it was also delicious - def recommend it! 2. BBQ short ribs - 4/5 the medium had about 6 pieces, pretty average priced. The ribs were definitely well flavored & nicely grilled, no complaints! 3. Yukkejang - 3/5 just a bit disappointed with this spicy beef soup, the broth lacked some flavor, I also expected more ingredients and meat but almost half of the soup was just bean sprouts. Just felt a bit overpriced for what was in the soup, which had a few pieces of beef, egg, lots of bean sprouts, and tiny bits of noodles The 3 items above came out to be $50+, a bit pricier than other places. I found this amazing place by accident while driving to work. I recently have been trying to pick up a new language and chose Korean so I recognized Hangul (Korean letters) on the window outside. The owners are friendly, warm, and always there working. My food is always ready and hot when I arrive. Now to the best part.... This small restaurant is NOT small on flavor. I've tried something new each time I've visited (once per week now) and I can't get enough of it. The Ramen was some of the best I've had because the broth was amazing. And they even served it with extras: pickled cucumbers and pickled yellow radishes, kimchi, and a veggie pancake. The Spicy pork belly was so tender. Perfect amount, filling. And my favorite is their beef Bibimbap with their fried egg on top, served with spicy chili sauce on the side. I look forward to continuing my studies so I can thank the owners personally myself in their own language and show them just how much I appreciate their amazing cooking and hospitality at this place.
