    Hainan Chicken Rice

The chicken was nice and juicy. Came with two different sauces -- both of which complemented the dish well. Veggies were also pickled.

Love man Chan cuisine. I have been eating here almost daily for the past month. They have sold the business to new owners who are contributing to the nickname of the plaza Diabetes alley. What were my favorite dishes: man Chan Hainanese chicken, French style beef with red rice, bitter melon with fish, salt and pepper chicken, tofu and calamari, beef stew with wonton and beef soup, mushroom with tofu, daily special soup, curry chicken, spicy seafood fun in hot soup, Jook with century eggs and pork, coconut desert, milk desert with ginger juice, unsweetened herbal drink, pear juice... Love their family restaurant atmosphere. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Huang for serving the San Gabriel Valley area for the past 15 years. You will be sorely missed. Looking forward to your reopening when your daughter Nam Zee opens her own smaller Man Chan.

Came here right after work at 5p and the place was empty. Ordered To-Go and it was a breeze. The lady spoke Cantonese and English in case you had any questions or recommendations, so it was easy to order. Service 4 stars. Food 3 stars (some dishes were better than others). Ordered: Fried Rice w/Salty Egg Yolk & Taro Olives 咸蛋黄榄菜芋头炒饭. $15.99 **** this was actually very tasty and I liked it very much as it was different, I also took this as the recommendation from the owner/lady. ** Roast Pork Belly w/Salty Fish & Eggplant in Hot Pot 烧猪腩咸鱼茄子煲 $17.99 ** - this was too salty :( I wouldn't order again Tofu w/Mushroom Wood Ear&Enokitake 冬菇云耳金针扒豆腐. $15.99 *** I think this would have been good if I'd eaten it there bc when covered up for take out the consistency of the fried tofu is lost and it isn't as yummy. *** French Style Filet Mignon - was decently tasty but seemed too little of a portion for $23.99. With my takeout the lady gave us 3 small cups of soup off the day which was very nice to have and very refreshing. The inside had a number of small tables and a larger big family table if you're dining in. I didn't see any restrooms available though. Their menus have a strong old menu scent :/

Hainan chicken rice 5/5: super juicy and tender! Love the texture of the chicken. Don't think I've had more tender chicken before. Salt and pepper chicken wings 3.5/5 : very juicy as well. But little too salty, even with rice it's kinda too salty Ground Pork with eggs 4/5: hard to describe the flavor cause it's marinated with different kinda Chinese spices. But it smells and tastes pretty nice.

Ordered the following: 2 rice plates of Hainan Style Chicken Rice- The chicken was a bit tough to chew but overall good. The rice was different from other Hainan chicken rice dishes I had before. It had little meat pieces and had ginger in it too. Bean Curd with Mix Fungus-This one is actually tofu so please don't be fooled by the English name of the dish aha. The tofu was so so soft and amazing. Wonderful dish overall. Also, they provide you with soup! It's rare to see Chinese restaurants do this anymore so this was a nice touch. I would come again to try other dishes.

Man Chan Cuisine satisfies Hainan chicken cravings. They're in the same complex as Chi Cha San Chen - grab some boba after tasty lunch. There's underground parking lot if the surface spots are full. For the food: They start the meal with free soup! The hainan chicken is steamed to perfection. It's tender, juicy and the skin is glistening with sesame oil. The chicken comes with all the sauces and chicken rice. The french style filet mignon is soft and tender. A la carte will give you much more beef than the combo with red rice. These two dishes are Asian mom approved

People very nice. Service was quick. Parking is a nightmare. Portion is way too small. Got the Hainan chicken rice plate. Chicken was all bones & skin. Chicken & rice both were bland. The little chicken soup that comes with the plate good. Full of collagen. Spicy sauce was sweet like bottle version not good. Probably wouldn't never go back but the ladies were super sweet.

What a delicious place! I have been on a hunt for amazing Hainan chicken. So my cravings for it has been crazy! I am glad I found this location. Their chicken is seasoned to perfection. I would say the rice needs a little more flavor, but it was really well cooked. The soup that it comes with.. MY GAWD it was delicious. I would go back just for the chicken and soup and be completely satisfied.. I probably need to lay off the rice anyways.. haha Can't wait to try the rest of their menu!

This long overdue five star review is for the phenomenal Hainan chicken rice at Man Chan Cuisine. Over the past five years, this has consistently been the best Hainan chicken I had in LA. The chicken is always flavorful and tender, with reasonably bone and a perfect balance of the best parts of the meat. A huge shoutout to the owner for maintaining such high quality standards for so many years. Their coconut chicken soup is another highlight, made with fresh whole coconut that you can truly taste in every sip. This restaurant deserves far more attention than it gets. A gem like this should definitely shine brighter.

A group of us came here to checkout their Hainan chicken. Turns out I've been here in the past. Before it was Dragon something and it had one of the best pan fried dumplings. Okay sorry got off track there as of now this place is known for their Hainan chicken and it didn't disappoint though I should've gotten all dark meat chicken because that's my love. All of us were happy with our meal choices even those that decided on something different. I tried the pork belly and it was something I'd order next time around. The server was nice and accommodating to our table. Parking can be difficult even though they have underground parking so I typically park on the street to avoid door dings. Come check this place out!

Okay...yum! The eggplant dish was incredibly delicious - like REALLY good. I think it's the best eggplant dish I've ever had. The eggplant was cooked perfectly, seasoned nicely and the flavor was so so delicious. The pork belly in it was kinda meh but the eggplant was to die for. 4.5/5 Hainan chicken curry suuuper yummy. Kind of like a Japanese curry flavor. Very flavorful. 4/5 The hainan chicken I could've did without. It was pretty mediocre. As others said, it has a lot of bones and the amount of meat is pretty thin. But I didn't mind that too much it's just that it was lacking the aroma and flavor. 2/5 The "coconut cake" SO GOOD. It's basically fresh Thai young coconut that has agar agar or gelatin added to make it firmer/more jelly like. It's incredibly good. 5/5

It's a small mom and pop shop. Food is good. I enjoyed it big time. It's better than I've imagined. I would totally come back.

This was a great Hainan chicken option. Funny story of how I found out about Man Chan Cuisine: while I was standing outside of Cluck2Go, waiting for my takeout order to be ready, another person who was standing nearby started chatting with me about Hainan Chicken. He had never tried Savoy or Cluck2Go before, but had only had Man Chan Cuisine, so he recommended that I try this spot. I enjoyed their chicken! It's very flavorful and the rice that comes with the meal is delicious. If you want rice, you have to make sure to order the Hainan Style Chicken Rice (G1), not just the plate (B1), since the plate only comes in chicken. I'm definitely coming back because their menu seems to have a lot of variety, and the staff was so friendly!

By the time we started eating, it was beginning to pack up inside. The ambiance was chill and the service was pretty standard for an Asian restaurant. Servers don't check in unless you call them over, nothing over the top. I ordered the baked chicken over tomato sauce and cheese. It was amazing, I'm still thinking about it days later! The tomato sauce was super flavorful without being crazy strong or tomato-forward. The cheese was baked perfectly on top, leaving a nice crispy texture but still chewy and stringy at the same time. I would definitely come back!

I was too hungry to wait but I decided to come back nice and early. At my 8:30am visit I was able to be selective in their parking lot and no wait to be seated. Yay! I love the interior décor. The table had dominos underneath the glass, the dishes and utensils had lucky auspicious affirmations. I'm all for the positive vibes this early in the morning. Staff are incredibly quick and efficient. They are really on top of it. I think they really have to be in order to meet the demand of the busy crowd. I was excited for the breakfast specials since I love breakfast foods. I can eat it all day! The breakfast combos come with your choice of drink. Cold drinks are an extra $1. After looking at some photos on Yelp and some helpful Q&A with my waitress, I decided on their Breakfast Combo D. Porkchop & Egg Pineapple Bun with Dried Scallop Congee ($13.99) and I opted for the Iced Lemon Tea ($1 cold drink upgrade). What a deal!! I also added a side order of the Fried Dough Stick ($3.50) or also known as the crueler or Chinese donut since I like to have it with my congee. It wasn't needed from a portion perspective but I just like it. The food came out quickly, the congee first and then the fried dough stick and porkchop & egg pineapple bun. What a feast! The ladies at the lady next to me were so excited at my spread they asked me what I got. They thought I was really pro but it was actually just my first visit. Inside the pineapple bun there was a fried egg, porkchop, tomato, lettuce, and sauce. It was a huge sandwich. This is one of the bigger pineapple buns I see and it was well stuffed. The amount of food I ordered was enough to feed 2 people. The congee was really subtle. I didn't get the fried scallop that is in the name... I would just perceive it as a plain congee. The fried dough stick was oily and didn't taste too fresh. I probably won't order it next time. Nevertheless a still overall fabulous meal. My tea was refilled before I had the chance to ask. When I asked for the check, they knew to bring me togo containers without me having to ask too. Very smart service! I had a great meal here and I will definitely come back if I wake up early enough to come at opening.

(4/5) Clams with Spicy Sauce - Large clams with tons of meat, and the sauce was fire. Always a good choice. (5/5) Crab with Salt & Pepper - Loved the seasoning, and the flavors were solid. (4.5/5) Thai Style Beef Stew - First time trying this, and it was good. A bit different, but the meat chunks were tasty and the overall flavors were good. (4/5) Sautéed Pea Sprouts - Nicely done vegetable dish. It's simple but refreshing with good flavors. (4/5) Fried Whole Fish - This dish was gone so fast because it was delicious. Nicely fried and not overly seasoned. (5/5) Signature Lobster - I feel like you have to get this here since it's their specialty. (5/5) Service was good, and they didn't automatically add a mandatory tip for a large party. The total came out to around $364, which is pricey, but the food was phenomenal. It's not often I get to go to these full service banquet style Asian (mostly Chinese) restaurants but I miss going to them as a kid with my family. The service from the folks who sat us and the ladies taking our order was great from the beginning. So friendly! For myself, I got some milk tea to wash down all the delicious food we ordered. Although we didn't do any of the specials that required ordering a day or two in advance (the braised morel and chicken soup or the winter melon soup), I think we ordered really well! As a group, we ordered: -Sauteed water spinach with spicy bean (needed some veggies) -Cantonese style mapo tofu (classic) -Spicy salt shrimp -Chestnut and chicken in clay pot -Lamb and bean curd hot pot (soup) -House special Vietnamese style lobster (more than 5 lbs), with added noodles I thought everything was tasty and just having a variety like that in a sizeable group makes this type of dining experience such a delight. We splurged a bit with the lobster and without it or per person cost probably would have been a lot lower, but sometimes you have to splurge and with a dish like the lobster here, it's a good one to do so!
