As a native New Yorker whose family owned a pizzeria, let me tell you something: their pizza is GOOD. Their Sicilian pie is made exactly how they should be: fluffy dough with a slightly crisp bottom with plenty of delicious sauce and cheese. We've tried their buffalo chicken pie which was equally good, as well as their veggie pizza which everyone raved about. We will be back for sure, and have been back multiple times. First timer at Lubrano's 36 and I couldn't have picked a better establishment to have dinner. The waitstaff and host were so friendly that I felt I had known them for years. The food??? OMG... the rigatoni with vodka sauce and crabmeat was to die for and the scallops had to be some of the best I have ever had. I had the chicken Parm here, the calamari and the mussels and it was actually really good! I've eaten in, taken out and never had a problem. It is pricey for the amount of food they give you. Just be aware of that. read more

We were in the area and were looking for a place to eat, nothing to expensive but had good reviews. We stumbled across this place. Very modern looking place with that old school Italian feel. The staff was friendly and for a sunday night had a decent amount of people. We started with the Buffalo pizza as appetizer which had a bit of a kick to it but was still very tasteful. My wife ordered shrimp parmigiana which she enjoyed and I ordered the lasagna which also was veryy very good. Had my first visit over the weekend and I have to say it was very good. I highly recommend the antipasto appetizer, as a sucker for Italian meats and cheese, I was in heaven. It was delicious and beautifully plated. I had the rigatoni pork, which was a fantastic red sauce full (and I mean full) of shredded pork short ribs. My girlfriend had spaghetti and meatballs and she was a big fan of the meatballs. Service was very attentive and polite. Will for sure be returning. read more

Welcoming from the moment we walked in. Caitlin was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable waitress. She explained every dish and we couldn't wait to eat. Warm bread came first with olive oil for dipping. Food did take some time but wine and conversation made us very patient. Veal and eggplant parm were excellent and enjoyed by our wives. We had shrimp and scallops over pasta with an excellent red sauce. We all liked everything about this place. It would be an easy 5 star if they made all their own pasta. Came here for a Friday night dinner date. I have a mom and pop restaurant that I usually stick to, because I've never had Italian food anywhere better. I gave this place a shot because I have a friend who works here. Lubrano's 36 definitely topped my normal restaurant! I always stick to chicken parm when trying an Italian restaurant and this was amazing. I usually don't eat the side of pasta that comes with it, but this I had to have. The sauce is amazing, the chicken was fresh. I even had my leftovers and they were still good! I couldn't stop looking at the food around us also because it all looked so good. Normally always love this place but tonight was different. With a group of 8 in the restaurant right now and there's a remarked difference in portion sizes between expensive entrees (ie veal piccata) and cheaper entrees (or pasta or chicken parm). Do yourself a favor and go to Patricia's or Yesterday's. This place is cutting corners. read more

The Best Italian Food in Monmouth County by far. It is the old Ciao Bella from Highlands and Lubranos in Atlantic before that. Dinner are large portions and the quality is second to none. It's one of the few take out places I will actually drive to rather than delivery, because they don't deliver, which is the only negative. Staff is amazing, food never disappoints and even the pizza is fantastic. A must try if you live within 10-15 min for the best Italian takeout. We even occasionally grab a bottle of wine and go there to eat as it it BYOB and it has never been anything less than amazing. read more

We loved Lubrano's when they were in Navesink and really missed them when they left. They are back at a new location on Route 36 (East Bound lane just past Main Street). They did a great job on the building - very upscale and comfortable. Pizza is still great and you can get take out but the restaurant is fabulous, service is great (Ask for Tina!), food is cooked to order so you do have to wait but it's worth it! I took my sister and niece there Saturday night - only a short wait. Robin and I had the Beet salad and a personal sized Vegetable pizza that was very tasty. My niece had the linguine and clam sauce - excellent. Have been there several times and it is worth it every time! read more

The owners were more than willing to accommodate us, and did so on one day notice. Ate here once, food was just ok. atmosphere more of a pizzeria and less of a restaurant feel. No place mats, just hardwood table. High back booths, not chairs and tables, poorly designed. Guessing about 20 tables on first floor and second floor we were told typically for parties. Fried calamari.....$15? This is a BYOB. Seems like anything with sauce or gravy is drowned in it... too much tomatoes sauce on the pasta and his pork chops. Our $60 meal was more worthy of perhaps $40. With make over, and a bit of refinement on his dishes place could be much better. read more

First time, last time for me. I had the penne vodka and it was good the problem is that i paid 4 bucks for chicken on it and got 4 tiny thin strips of processed chicken. The real down side was the chicken parm. Same thing with the chicken. 3 very small thin chicken tenders. Not sure if they are saving money by not using fresh chicken breast but i wont go back. It is worth saying the service was very nice. If your gonna cut corners you should cut your price. read more
