After a weekend of hanging downtown decides to go to Fullbelly as we live the location in Sonterra…read more Upon arrival we noticed the sign was much different than the location in Sonterra Is also larger in the inside with a minimalist decor. We were promptly sat as it was not very busy. It took a little while for someone to come to our table and take our order. My wife ordered the Mexican Hot Chocolate and I a regular coffee. The Mexican Hot Chocolate was a little flat and lacked the richness that a Mexican Hot Chocolate usually has. The coffee was a little weak for my taste but that is subjective. We started with the Buttermilk Biscuits and Sausage Gravy , the biscuits we moist and flaky but cold, the sausage gravy was more like gravy poured over sausage and biscuits ( we're not cooked together ). My wife ordered the Basic Breaky (eggs, bacon, potatoes milk bread toast). The eggs were cooked right and the bacon was good. Nothing special about it but is is the basic breaky. I order the shrimp and grits, seasoned shrimp with the tail in top of cheese grits, and a tomato based sauce. The shrimp were seasoned well and cooked pretty decent. The grits weren't as cheesy as expected but still good. The tomato based sauce threw off the balance of the meal and did not belong . Overall, I can say that this location does not provide the same experience service wise or food quality as the Sonterra location. I will stick to that location.

I'm used to the gravy being cooked with the sausage. This seemed more like a deconstructed version. While the gravy was hot the biscuits were cold. The gravy lacked seasoning. I'm salt sensitive, but had to add salt and pepper to the dish to add flavor. The breakfast plate was your usual breakfast dish. It was good. I've eaten at both locations and I think I prefer the food at the other location to this one.

And Blanco Cafe has been around since 1974! But I'd never been until my grandfather requested it for dinner one night during my most recent visit. FYI There are a couple of restaurants called Blanco Cafe in San Antonio. This one is on Blanco Road, and it's been there for more than 50 years. It's known for its enchiladas, but it has a full menu for breakfast, lunch, and early dinner (they close at 7pm M-Sa and at 3pm on Su, so it's a place for an early dinner only). (They don't have alcohol either, so this isn't your spot for a margarita or beer with dinner.) The cafe is classic and comfortable. It's not fancy but has plenty of charm. People love it so there can be a little bit of a line outside, but it moves fast. We were a table of five and by the time I parked (there's a small lot behind the building and street parking), my family was already seated - and that was a Friday night around 6. Since they're known for their enchiladas, four of the five us got their enchilada plate. They're so classic - classic Tex-Mex enchiladas that is! Tex-Mex enchiladas start with tortillas dipped in a chile sauce (which is what makes them look so red). They're stuffed with gooey cheese and then topped with chile con carne and even more cheese. I can see why Blanco Cafe's enchiladas are so popular. They are classic, delicious, and so crave-able. Served with frijoles, rice, and wonderful flour tortillas, it's just a great, classic meal. I have zero complaints. But if you're not in the mood for enchiladas, they have a full menu with plenty of other items to choose from (and lunch specials Monday through Saturday). I didn't have room for their Fideo Loco, so I'm personally ordering that when I return. Blanco Cafe was a treat. The service was great. The restaurant has no frills but is comfortable and classic and charming. It's simply good. I know I'll be back because even my picky grandfather (he's 102, so his pickiness is understandable) loves it. I'm looking forward to returning! A San Antonio classic I can't believe I hadn't tried until 2026!

Both come with rice, beans and tortillas. Their flour tortillas are sooooooo good. Just the right amount of char and softness. The plates are tasty. The iced tea is always delicious. Go there.

I had the morning wrecker. It's a split homemade biscuit with chicken fried steak, hash browns, and 2 eggs all topped with gravy and melted cheese on top. I ordered an iced vanilla coffee and the small chicken fried steak & eggs. I had my eggs over easy. For my sides I picked the seasoned farmhouse potatoes with onions and tomatoes and a biscuit. My chicken fried steak and eggs were delicious. I think my potatoes could have used a bit more seasoning. The biscuit was big, warm and tasty! I would come back to order biscuits to go. I'm glad I ordered the small portion because it was filling. I had half of my biscuit leftover. My boyfriend ordered a coffee and the smoked brisket & cheddar omelet. For his sides he got the hash browns and a grilled biscuit. The omelet was delicious and the grilled biscuit was okay to me. My boyfriend enjoyed all of his meal! Our server was friendly and attentive. No complaints on the service. I think we will definitely have to come back!

It's a little expensive, even for a weekend. You would expect more and better choices for the prices we paid. About $80 for two adults and a midget. They had your typical fare. The least favs-ribs(tough/dry and no flavor), steak(tough and under seasoned), steam buns(the filling just no), bourbon chicken(dry chicken and not enough sauce), and the consensus least fav were all the desserts. There was flying bugs, and everything was super dry and tasted old. I get it, what do expect for a Chinese buffet in San Antonio? Well I expect no flying insects in the desserts for the price I paid. Also, 75 % of the fruit we got was as tough as the steak. Oh, and the cold shrimp, either overcooked or thawed the wrong way. The shell was practically glued on. The positives-all the rice and noodle dishes were good to ok. The hot and sour soup was really good! The teriyaki chicken was actually good. The bigger sauced rib was good. The kimchi was some of the better we've had recently. The spring rolls with peanut were good. The two fish dishes we had(fried and not fried) were actually quite nice. All the breads were good. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Almost forgot, the bathrooms were kinda gross. They need to be kept clean. Will not come back again.

The buffet options are good, but their general tso's chicken is not the best (and I judge how good overall Chinese buffets on this lol). A surprise hit is the sautéed green beans, which are perfectly cooked and garlicky--just like how you'd find it traditionally cooked in Chinese cuisine. I also think they're deep fried (salt and pepper?) shrimp (next to the crawfish) is very delicious. Plates are cleared pretty quickly and the buffet space is kept orderly and decently clean.

We ordered: the Alamo Burger: a 8 oz wagyu beef smash burger , served with a fried egg, caramelized onions, cheese on a crispy croissant bun. It was incredible and worth the 15-20 minute wait! Almond croissant - a monster sized, flaky croissant with a generous almond filling. Guy Fieri highlighted this croissant on his DD&D show. It's probably a million calories not worth it! Tequila strawberry tres leches croissant - a small, cream filled croissant with strawberries. This was our least favorite. I chose this location because it was close to my hotel. The first thing that caught my eye was the pastry display. All three pastries seemed a bit dry to me and didn't live up to the hype. I also tried their brunch offerings, which were good but nothing particularly memorable. On a positive note, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, respectful, and welcoming. The ambiance was casual and comfortable, making it a pleasant place to visit overall.
