They put the DELI in DELIcious! I try to stop in whenever I go home to Petaluma and they never disappoint. I love all of the bread, cheese and side dish options!!! Yesterday I ordered turkey, salami and cheddar on a sourdough baguette with LTMMPO. Hint: L is for lettuce :-) I am too lazy to write out the rest. 99.9% of the time I put plain lays chips on my turkey deli sandos but i didn't yesterday bc the sando was so good it didn't need anything to make it yummy! Suki and Chase enjoyed the condiment ratio but I forgot to take their pic. Next time! I am posting pics of my sando tho bc it is a work of art. I also tried the mac salad-it was good but too much pickle or something so I wasn't super into it but no biggie just preference. I will be back next time Petalumites (is this a new thing? The food is mediocre, they treat staff like garbage and they don't change their gloves. I've witnessed them washing their hands with gloves on instead of putting on a new pair. Best part is the freshly baked bread, but that's about it. read more

The veggie sandwich on Dutch crunch is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to all vegetarians and adding cheese. They also have a variety of kettle chips and drinks to choose from. Overall, the staff is fast and the food is great. read more

If you want a good sub, sammie, deli sandwich, then this is a solid spot! I'm no longer a vegetarian, but I love a good veggie sub. Good for me means that the bread is fresh, the veggies are fresh, and my avocado is ripe. Good also means I have a large number of options for ad ons, and a variety of breads and spreads to choose from. Oh, and good means you offer more than a couple of cheeses to melt. This place is good. The first time, I had veggie on Dutch with ground mustard, sprouts, avocado, jack, cucumber, spinach, peppers - it was big warm and melty. The second time I had the above with turkey. The turkey was perfect! I probably would have been fine to split my sub, but it was so good both times, that I didn't share. I'll be back next time I'm in P-town. read more

I think this is a solid place for deli sammies. You have your choice of meats that goes a bit beyond the standard fare, as well as cheese selections. I think the best thing about this place is they make bread here and in the mornngs it is fresh, hot and ready to be purchased and munched with some good cheese. They also serve Pueblo Del Sol's old school sweet and sour dressing and salsa. That is just gold in my book. Overall, good service, clean environment and decent price tag to match the quality product you receive. read more

Honestly, what did we ever do before Yelp? I don't know anything at all about Petaluma. OK, I know 1 thing: Lagunitas. That's why the girlfriend & I were in town. We decided to grab some lunch before beginning our beer drinking binge & the girlfriend said she was really in the mood for an Italian deli. An Italian deli in Petaluma? How am I gonna find that? Oh yeah, smartphone + Yelp app = answer. & the answer was Lucchesi's Delicatessen. After the answer went into GPS, we quickly arrived at Lucchesi's & easily parked right in front. Lucchesi's has a huge selection of everything you'd imagine finding in a deli. It's mostly a take-out deli as there is no restroom for customers, only a few small tables inside & a few more tables outside. It was hot out so we sat inside. There's a staggering number of sandwich options here. After some consideration & orienting ourselves with the ordering protocol, I got the Buffalo Chicken & the girlfriend got the Italian Sub. Our sandwiches only took a few minutes & were reasonably priced. My Buffalo Chicken sandwich wasn't what I was expecting. Instead of cooked chicken breast or maybe cooked shredded chicken it had chicken cold cut slices. Still, the Buffalo sauce was really good & the sandwich was very tasty. I had some of the girlfriend's Italian Sub & that was fantastic. Delicious & perfectly seasoned, I liked hers even better. Yelp did it again. An Italian deli in Petaluma? Not only did we find that while mobile, but we found Lucchesi's Delicatessen. In Petaluma, this is the place to get a great deli sandwich. read more

Upon stepping into the deli, one word spoke out to me, "Fresh." You can tell that all the ingredients, everything just looked so fresh! What's amazing about Lucchesi's is that they offer customizable sandwiches (you choose the type, bread, what goes inside, etc). I followed the following directions they have posted in their deli: Step 1: I ordered the HONEY MAPLE TURKEY. Step 2: I chose my type of bread, which was a WRAP. (Choices offered are sourdough baguette, sourdough hard roll, sweet roll, dutch crunch, ciabatta, wheat roll, and a wide variety of slice bread, as well). Step 3: Then I talked about what I wanted in it - REGULAR MUSTARD, LETTUCE, TOMATO, and SPROUTS (and we all know how expensive baby sprouts can get). I skipped a few ingredients because I didn't like them. Step 4: Skipped because I didn't want any extras (which were for an additional fee). The overall HONEY MAPLE TURKEY WRAP was great. I ate all of it and every bite was a burst of freshness and flavor. Plus, it was a hot day and I had no way to keep my wrap cool. Hahaha. The service was great! The wonderful lady who took our order was very nice in explaining everything because we told her it was our first time there and we were tourists. Another thing I loved about them was that they are very involved in the community. It was almost Easter time and while eating my wrap with my friends outside on the tables, their Easter Bunny mascot came by to say hello! Very cute! This place has changed. I hadn't been to Petaluma in quite some time and was excited to I have Lucchesi's again with my sister on a recent visit. It felt like there was perhaps new owners, or some thing was very different, sandwiches weren't of their usual quality and I miss the whole grain roll and sprouts. Our two split, very different style sandwiches were both average. What a shame. I love this place and always recommended it to hungry visitors to Petaluma. read more

I went there on a Saturday late afternoon and the service was bad. So, be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes even if you want something from the refrigerator case. I spoke with someone in the phone and he wouldn't let me talk to the manager and hung up on me. So, disappointing because the workers use to be friendly and helpful. I had a problem with my order and they wouldn't fix the problem and had to pay for another item which I don't think I should have. Not good customer service. read more

Was passing through and found this place on yelp...very clean. Ordered 5 sandwiches all different everyone enjoyed their meal. My only advise is know that they put horseradish on the sandwiches which I did not see on menu, so although I like a good nasal clearing from time to time, It overpowered my sandwich so pay attention to the menu. Not their fault but mine, other than that very good quality. read more

Driving group of guys we were up in this area; Everyone decided to go for Mexican, I had to slip out looking for an Italian Sandwich. To my surprise, this place did not disappoint. The surprise was the fresh baked sourdough bread they bake here. Super clean interior, amazing salami quality & condiments for your Sangweech! They had a nice line outside to help stop the spread of Covid & only allow 3 people in the deli at a time. Will definitely be back here again when we drive up north! Lucchesi's has always been to go to, today I ordered a BLT, when I got home and excited to eat it I opened it and there was 2 pieces of bacon, this is a bread sandwich...someone one was clearly trying to get away with being lazy....I did call and was offered a credit....this doesn't help me today, very poor Lucchesi's, get it together read more

1st time customer! Delicious sandwiches...I thought Jersey Mikes had the best tasting sandwiches, this place has them beat by far. Got the salami & italian sandwiches on sweet italian, the bread was soft, crunchy & not to thick or thin. Came with everything I ask for. All employees wear masks & practice social distancing with customers. I will be back on my next trip to Graton to try other menu items! read more

The best deli in Petaluma hands down! Lots of yummy options! Can't go through Petaluma without stopping by here! Be sure to call ahead, they get busy! I'd recommend adding the oil & vinegar to your sandwich too, but ask for it on the side if you're not going to be eating it right away. read more

Very average sandwich. Pretty much a sandwich you can get anywhere. With that said definately not worth the $8 price tag. I had the honey turkey sandwich with everything except mayo and lettuce. I have to say I didn't taste any horseradish, rather the vinegar took the spotlight. Was not a fan of the vinegar, it must have been white vinegar that they use which in my opinion not meant to be on a sandwich. read more

I was shopping for Easter basket stuff at See's Candy and thought I grab a quick lunch. I have been here a couple of times to by the Pueblo salsa and dressing but never a sandwich. My sandwich was super huge and very delicious. Before I saw it I thought wow they are a little pricey for a sandwich. But when I unwrapped it I thought OK this is two meals. Great minestrone. Loved the roasted turkey sandwich ( Thanksgiving in a bun). As a traveler though, I sure wish they had a restroom that someone who has been driving for 2 hours could use. Had to walk in the rain to Safeway (where they directed me to go) which isn't that close. My food was ready before I got back and the soup was lukewarm. read more

Lucchesi's never disappoints! I keep meaning to leave a review, but then do I really want everyone to know about my favorite deli...YES! Every sandwich lover, and skilled sandwich maker knows that the bread is half of the sandwich. I'd stop in just to buy a fresh sourdough baguette, but then it would be lonely and naked without the makings of a great Italian Sub stuffed inside. What a great find. Quick stop off the freeway on our way through town. Feel lucky to find this place. Great sandwiches & super quick service. Highly recommend. For food, we ordered the pork in sauce BBQ sandwich, hot dog, and a side of baked beans. There are separate areas where you order first, then pay, then wait for your food. Once we paid, we were handed the baked beans, which were piping hot. It was still quite busy at the front and we ended up waiting about 25 min before our sandwiches came out. The wait wasn't the problem, but both items were cold when we got them. The sandwich had actually been ready and sitting there for about 15 min before the hot dog came out. We even had to ask them to swap out the baked beans they gave us earlier because they were room temp by then. Cold food aside, the pork in sauce had a lot of fat and was way too saucy (maybe ask for sauce on the side). The hot dog which was what we waited 25 min for was just...a hot dog with way too much mayo and ketchup. With the long wait, I'm confused why our food wasn't hot when it came out. I may give it another try, but first experience wasn't great.

Then I was prompted to leave a tip - I was a bit shocked by this that I didn't even know what to do. I instinctually hit 20% and it wasn't until I was in the car that I realized I just tipped on a can of beer I grabbed out of the fridge and for a sandwich that I waited 10 minutes for, just to place the order.. lol. All other things aside, the sandwich was okay. A pretty good reuben, but far from the best. The bread was super thin and not well toasted so it became really soggy. Soggy reubens are the worst. We've all had one before - the bread just disintegrated and it just started to fall apart. Overall, the sandwich was okay but there are far better places in town to grab a sandwich that will at least pretend they are happy you stopped by, and won't ask you for a tip for the privilege of doing so.

I used to come here all the time, but sadly I'll never visit again. About a month ago I ordered to go sandwiches- they made my friends perfectly. However, I asked for chicken, and I got turkey- paid for cheese- and got zero cheese- luckily everything else on the sandwich was right. Walked in today, fast and friendly service. Attempt to order the same sandwich, get home, everything is right- except I was given turkey again, instead of chicken! How does this happen? I worked at a sandwich shop for 3 years so I can forgive little mistakes, but 2 visits in a month and you can't get it right? I'm sorry Luchessi- I'm disappointed.
