Delicious!! Been meaning to swing by Lucchesi's for quite sometime, but finally got around to it after years. In my opinion, delis are either terrible or great in our area, and obviously Lucchesi's falls in the latter of the category. First and foremost, the staff are unbelievably friendly and willing to help with any decisions or alter/customize your order. On top of that, the amount of food you get for the price is great! Hard to beat an affordable sandwich that has you absolutely filled by the end of it. Fast forward to the order, turkey with cranberry on a soft roll and heated up. I still can taste the perfect sandwich to this day and oddly craving it quite early in the morning right now. When it comes to seating, its limited inside, but they have a decent sized patio if outside weather permits. When it comes to parking, hard not to find any due to this deli being in a strip mall with ample parking. Must make a stop again soon! read more

Kinda sad to see the direction Lucchesi Deli has taken. I used to absolutely love this place growing up it was second so none. Now is arguably the most expensive deli in town and we have a ton of options for deli's here. It's very easy to just pick a different one. If youre like me and like 2 meats (Turkey and Salami) it's a 4$ up charge making it what they call a "double" putting your sandwich well over the 20$ mark. This is actually overkill on meat but they won't do half and half. This could have something to do with the fact the place was pretty much empty at lunch time on a Sunday. Bummer but oh well I guess. This sandwich doesn't make it to the top of my list for Italian sandwiches, but hit the spot. For $8, the Italian sandwich had a moderate amount of meat with all other ingredients (tomatoes, pickles, mustard, mayo, horseradish). I didn't see/taste much variety in the meat in the sandwich, nor did the meat fill the sandwich to the edges. So good. Stopped by while driving through town and so glad we did. Had the grilled chicken sandwich on dutch crunch bread and it was so good. Everything was so fresh. The sandwich is literally made to order. Everything is so flavorful exactly what you would expect from a great sandwich shop. They also sell bottled drinks and water and pastry desserts. Located in a shopping center, we were picking up supplies at the grocery store and stopped for lunch. The line looked long (it was out the door) but it was a weekday at noon. I didn't go inside, but gave my order to my friend while I grabbed a table outside. The line moves quicker than you think! I got a hot grilled chicken sandwich with bbq sauce. They didn't have the bread I originally asked for, and I got a French roll. It was a big, well made sandwich, very tasty. Easily enough for two meals, which I did. Stopped here on our way to Ft. Bragg. The sandwiches were delicious. The bread was fresh and warm , like it was right out of the oven. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. They have homemade salads and baked goods. Tried the lemon bar. It was very good. They had fresh bread for you to purchase too. We were there tab the end of the day so they gave us a few shoes slices of their sliced sourdough. It's so soft! This place is a little hidden gem in Petaluma. Wish we lived closer so we could come more often. A family own delicatessen is not something you see often in the Bay Area. Why I've never written a review for Lucchesi's Deli is beyond me as I am here at least once a week to once every 2 weeks getting sandwiches, breakfast, etc. There are several delicatessens in Petaluma but what is great is they all have their own uniqueness about them. For instance, I love the veggie sandwich on a wheat baguette from Lucchesi's but at another place they put in veggies that aren't used on Lucchesi's sandwich and that I don't like (bell peppers for instances. Gag!). And here their breads are always fresh! The 2 standard sandwichs that I purchase (besides the veggie which is once in a while) is the fresh turkey with stuffing & cranberry sauce. I mean you take those ingredients, put them on slice sourdough with mayo, salt & pepper and it's Thanksgiving right there in your hands!! The other sandwich smoked turkey, smoked cheddar cheese on sliced wheat, no mustard but everything including horse radish, oil & vinegar, etc., delicious! The sandwiches are big and filling. My friend and I usually only eat half and save the other half for the next days lunch at work. They also have a large variety of chips and drinks as well as cookies, lemon bars, raspberry bars, and candy. If you looking for breakfast, they do make a breakfast sandwich with your choice of meat (bacon or ham) and you can add cheese if you want. They make a delicious breakfast burrito but those seem to be seasonal, plus they go fast! And for those who remember Pueblo del Sol, Lucchesi has tubs of their sweet & sour sauce and salsa available for purchase. Ahhhhhh the memories! All in all, it's an all around great local deli (breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, soups, salads, fruit salads, potato salads, macaroni salads, drinks, chips, deli meat by the slice, etc.) owned by a great local family! Lucchesi's Deli opened when I was in high school. Since moving to the East Bay, it had been a LONG time since I'd been there. Wow, it did not disappoint. We went at a weird time, 3pm, and there was no line. Staff greeted us and made the sandwich pretty quickly. I love how they still have local touches and the staff is super friendly. I got the Vegetarian sandwich on dutch crunch and added smoked cheddar. My fiancé got the spicy salami on sourdough. Let's just say it was so good that I only got a picture of half my sandwich. This place is a little hard to find from inside the shopping center as it faces out to the street, but it is right next to panda express out near the street. Sprouts was a nice touch on the sandwich. I called in my order with ease and when I got there, my order was ready and waiting for me. My hubs enjoyed his hot Roast Beef Sandwich on a soft sweet roll and my girls gobbled up their Turkey and cheese on wheat toast. However, you will not get a different result as well. What you will receive is a consistently great deli sandwich. Their formula is simple, and the the results are always excellent. My wife and I have frequented Lucchesi's for years, and no matter who is behind the counter, we always leave with one of the best sandwiches in all of Sonoma County. It has been a tough year for everyone. And Lucchesi's has served as a gastric safe harbor for us during these trying times. Even though we live in another town, Lucchesi's is or go to if the hankering for a sandwich takes hold. We will make the drive to Petaluma in order to enjoy another Lucchesi's sandwich. My wife likes roast beef and jack cheese on a hard roll with extra mayo. I enjoy turkey with avocado, bacon and jack cheese on a hard roll. We are never disappointed. Terrific little authentic Italian deli found in Washington Square when we were looking for picnic items to take to the coast. Lucchesi's Deli fit the bill perfectly with their tasty and unusual sandwiches and sides. The macaroni salad was a bit too vinegary for our taste, so we recommend asking for a trial taste of salads before ordering a pint. It's a little difficult to locate the entrance which is in the same building as Cold Stone Creamery -- just head to the west side of the building to find the narrow business front there. Today was my first visit to this deli. I thought the sandwich I ordered was pretty good. I ordered a warm fresh cooked turkey sandwich with cranberry and stuffing on a dutch crunch with other dressings. The price was $9.99, I didn't mind paying that price, I think that's almost average price for the sandwich I received. The place inside is pretty small, they have a great variety of chips to offer, and they also have many different side salads like bean salad, potato salads and egg salad, with many more, a great variety of beverages as well..they even have some desserts like over priced carrot cake, brownies, lemon bars, Rice Krispies, cookies, coconut cream bars, and candy. It didn't take long for them to make my sandwich I waited about 4 mins during a lunch hour. After I took a couple bites of my sandwich I realized they forgot to add the cranberry, so I kindly went to the counter and politely told the older lady that it was forgotten and asked her for a small side of cranberry, she replied if you bring your sandwich over we can check it, (like I was lying) and I said I don't mind , you can just give me a small side of it, and she asked me for the sandwich again. They added the cranberry to my sandwich, I wasn't satisfied with the service overall. I think I'd rather go to Mr. Pickles. read more

Someone called ahead for an order and I went in thinking it would be a quick pick up routine like every other place. But no, you still have to wait outside. So I patiently waited in line outside for 25 minutes because even if you place an order for pick up, they only allow 3 people inside at a time. So I asked the worker "why are you having people who called ahead stand out in 95 degree heat if we called ahead?" If we planned on calling ahead to avoid a line and my order is ready just sitting on the counter, of course I am wondering why I am standing outside when it takes 2 seconds to pay. She chooses to ignore my question so I said again, "I'm wondering why people who placed orders ahead of time are still having to wait outside?" Knowing that my friend placed the order 30 minutes before I arrived and I waited 25 minutes- so yes I was upset our order was just sitting on the counter that whole time. Not sure how sanitary that even is in this heat..? The some pathetic older man rushed over yelling about how "we are following the laws! Blah blah!" Literally yelling at me after I repeated my question. He proceed to say he's worked there for 30 years and he's never had this many problems with a customer? I explained how I was just seeking to understand why they are having customers in the heat like that? And I told them they're treating their customers like trash and when he said "that's the rules if you don't like it don't come here" and I said "WOW" because I was truly shocked that I was being attacked like this for asking a question. He said "yeah wow get out of here". ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. I worked I. The customer service industry for a very very long time, and I have never heard such aggression from a staff member before- especially not a 30 year employee. I used to come here every Saturday, prior to COVID; but not anymore. Do not support this business, they are ungrateful and very hateful towards their long time customers. Just because you are a family business, and you may be part of that family so you can't get fired; does not, under any circumstances give you the right to speak to people in that manner. Luchessi is my go to for wraps and salads, they have a wide selection of sandwiches and pastas! I do get a bit of anxiety when it comes to ordering. First you approach the ordering station you don't have much time to read through the menu. Your scrambling to make your meat selection, once you have that ready you have to read off the ingredients of what you want. At least for me, I'm the type to read it first and tell you what I want. There's no time because your pressured to make your selection. Once your done ordering they give you a slip of what you order. You then have time to choose your drink and there's so much to choose from it's amazing!! They have their cuts of meat, that you can order from the deli and you can pick up chips with your order.
