The food is great, but the service is awful. We had to manage our order all the way through. One meal came before the appetizer, the second meal came a LONG time after the other food, so everyone was eating by themselves. Then we order a second round of drinks and the server brought our check, charged us the second round, but didn't bring the drinks. I will opt for their COATI location next time because then I will have a do-it-yourself expectation. Very disappointing and aggravating experience in Fountain. read more

My partner and I decided to stop in at the new location in Fountain Colorado for a quick bite to eat. We were extremely happy we did. We were greeted by a young man at the front door with a smile which was delightful. The layout of the new spot was very nice. Plenty of space and great music playing in the background. Tried to have lunch here today (lunch on a Sunday) with my family, but unfortunately chose to actually leave due to horrible management. Never have I ever been pushed to the point that I have actually walked out. The good: I am so pleased to say that our waitress was incredibly kind and professional despite it all. The bad and the ugly: 1. 98 degrees outside and their air conditioning was broken. It was sweltering inside - no fans or air flow. Our waitress kindly found a fan to move out into the dining room, but we literally overheard the kitchen staff throwing a fit that she was taking it into the dining room. I'm sure the kitchen was burning up - but we are paying customers dripping sweat. It's not our fault - it's managements fault not having enough fans during the AC issue. Also, don't complain in customers earshot - uncomfortable and rude. 2. Flies EVERYWHERE 3. Every single dish we attempted to order at our 4 top had something that was not available - no crab, no oysters, no okra, no collard greens, no vegetable substitute at all, and no lemonade. I am really hoping a lot of this was growing pains/learning curve. I will give them a while to work out the kinks and try again, but today was a massive fail. read more

Always loved your food truck. We went to the restaurant for the same experience. Waitress didn't even know the menu. It was not busy but food took a long time. Our appetizer was wings and they were forgotten. Our food came out and we had to remind the waitress about our appetizer. The wings came after our food and they were cold. Last minute the waitress tells me they are out of fried orkra so I ordered fries. Fries were cold and soggy. Mac and Cheese was not good and the fried catfish was undercooked. This is not the Luchals I remember and unfortunately I will not be back. read more

Let me start by saying the Fountain location is beautiful and large enough to accommodate customers for a very nice dining experience. However, the staffing to serve a large party was very disappointing. A reservation was made long in advance for our sorority and fraternity to fellowship at this establishment. To have ONE waitress to serve a party of approximately 40 individuals is ridiculous. Again, reservation was made far in advance. Drinks orders were slow, no water refills, and to top it off people were not served their meals. Yes, waited for 45 minutes from ordered and not served meals. Obviously the ONE waitress was unaware because she was over worked. To first just offer a discount for a mistake the establishment made to a customer is unacceptable. Then once speaking to the manger and just getting an excuse that the meal was sent out once again is unacceptable. Did the waitress ensure all customers were served their meals? I would have expected first of all for the mistake not to be made, again if the establishment was prepared to serve a large party, and if a mistake is made to compensation the customers for their entire meals. To first just to offer a discount for YOUR mistake and to offer free drinks when the customer canceled their order due to YOUR mistake was the icing on the cake. I am a full supporter of black establishments especially in Colorado Springs, and would love for them to be very successful. But, I expect exemplary business practices to be provided. I was very disappointed in this establishment service especially since they knew a very large party would be dining. Unfortunately, I will not be visiting again and would not recommend this establishment to our organizations as a place to fellowship and to hold our program events. I am sorry, but I cannot give my hard earned money for sub par service. There are too many restaurants in town. Service wasn't too bad but could've been better. The sign says seat yourself which we did but it was 7 minutes or so that we waited on staff. Finally someone came to ask if we had been waited on and when we said no, she became our waitress. She was nice but never came back to the table to fill water or ask if we needed anything else. We had to grab silverware off the next table and noticed it was replaced within seconds but we never received any at our table. The hookah was horrible and tasted burnt. They only had 1 flavor. We waited for our tab and asked for a box also but only our tab came out. I didnt want to wait any longer and decided to leave without taking my food to go. I ordered the lemon pepper and truffle fries which were good. I can see this being a good spot but service needs to improve a little. read more

Did check on us several times without interrupting our time out of the office. There was so much food we had to take it with us. My only disappointment is I left my food container at the restaurant! Good experience, went to the downtown Colorado Springs location and found out it was closed. My wife called the phone number listed to find the location of the other restaurant and she talked to the owner. We walked in and atmosphere was very live. They had a Live DJ playing popular RB, Hip Hop and not to crowded. The owner came over to our table and introduce herself. She offered us a drink on the house and thanked us for coming in. My wife ordered the 6 piece shrimp and mac and cheese, I ordered the crab cakes. The food was good, but heavy on the spiciness. We'd recommended that the chef would go lite on the spiciness for those that don't necessarily like spicy food. read more

We reserved a spot for 20 that cost $50, got there and asked for appetizers that never came, received food that wasn't right, every tab was charged a 20% fee when their service was terrible, was told by some random employee that, that was their policy while the owner sat back and watched her business fail. My advice would be to go get you some help in knowing how to sustain your business because just as quick as you went up, you'll go down because of how you're running things. Stop looking at instant gratification and look into sustainability. We won't be back, nor will anyone in our party. read more

The food here is soooo good. I've read the service reviews and okay I get it, it's frustrating if you feel like service is slow but it's a really new location. Our server Lexie was great. There had been 2 huge groups right before we got there so food came out a bit slow, but I don't think that was anything that could have been controlled . The food way more than made up for it and the manager checked in on us multiple times and made sure everything was okay. I'll definitely go back. Paid waaaay too much for crap food. Server was not attentive. Had to flag him down to get a drink refill and a check. Music was too loud, we could even have a conversation. Most of our take out order, shrimp and grits, crab cakes and crab fries where all very salty. The shrimp and grits were very spicy. Not everyone eats really spicy food. Good Cajun food is well seasoned not always really spicy. I grew up in southern Louisiana. The take out portions and location however were good. read more
