Solid east end chain mexican spot which offers dine in, or take out. Got the shrimp quesadilla and carne asada bowl. Both were delicious and cooked accordingly. so I went to lucharitos on Thursday night. I wanted to get a margarita and some chips and queso. I was refused the margarita for my id being fake when it wasn't. I've gotten several margaritas from them before but this certain employee would not serve me a margarita. I am 22 years old. I won't be coming back there. they treated me like I was too young to be drinking alcoholic beverages. And the chips I got were stale and the queso was cold. just terrible service and horrible employees. read more

I usually apply the "three-strikes" rule to restaurants and food establishments because one never knows if the kitchen staff was having a bad day during a disappointing dining experience. After today's visit, Lucharitos Burrito Bar has attained its third strikeout with me (actually, I gave it four chances). I admire Lucharito's owner Marc LaMaina (hence the 3 stars) for growing a mini Mexican food empire in Long Island and expanding into entertainment, sports, and other areas. My admiration alone won't make me return to Lucharitos Burrito Bar in Matituck. Lucharito's in Greenport always delivers a good meal (as did his former Little Lucharito's in Aquebogue). Still, since I live in Mattituck, I'm disappointed I now have to make a drive to Greenport if I want some Lucharitos. In my view, Lucharitos Burrito Bar never really worked through the kinks food establishments usually have in their first few days or weeks of opening, despite opening and surving during the COVID-19 pandemic. They seem chronically under-staffed for the volume of dine-in and takeout orders I've observed while dining in (I understand staffing these days is a challenge for most restaurants). During today's visit, several of the dine-in tables were dirty from previous diners, and service items like napkin holders were empty. For this visit, I ordered a pulled chicken bowl and shared an order of guacamole and chips with my friend. The chicken although tender, lacked any flavor and didn't improve with the copious amounts of chipotle hot sauce I added. Likewise, the guacamole was flavorless despite a few pieces of chopped onion. It lacked the basics flavors of traditional guacamole like salt and lime juice (chopped cilantro would be an excellent addition, too), and came with large chunks of avocado that made it difficult to break up with brittle tortilla chips. The chips always came nicely packed in a brown paper bag, but are served chilled rather than the traditional warmed chips. Heating corn chips can enhance the corn flavor. Since restaurateurs and chefs often mute the traditional flavors of the Mexican cuisine for the American palate, I usually give establishments the benefit of the doubt, but the various proteins I've tried at Lucharitos Burrito Bar always come lacking any flavor or substance. It's apparent that either the kitchen uses different recipes from the Greenport location or don't follow them. With another disappointing visit, it will be my last, and I have to resign myself to driving to Greenport or cooking Mexican at home (at least my homemade guacamole never disappoints). read more

I was surprised that this location was more of a burrito bar. Think chipotle or moes.. There were two guests in front of me and some online/phone orders, but they really kept the line moving. I got the bbq pork burrito with rice and beans. The sign said only 3 topping so I got corn salsa, guacamole and cheese. It came with a handful of chips. It was mediocre. There was a fatty piece of pork that turned me off and I threw 1/2 away. The seating area/ courtyard next door was decent for being in a shopping center. read more

Placed an online order as we got off the ferry in Orient to pickup our 7 dinners to take home. Arrived 25 minutes after placing the order to only find YET AGAIN our order was never done. Young man stated the print out machine for on line orders wasn't working. We were told we now had to wait 25 minutes for them to prepare our dinners. Young man was hand writing the online order down on an order pad. The female employee was making our dinners wrong and was getting pissed at us for calling her out on it and then started speaking Spanish to the young man I'm sure she was talking about me but anyway she needed to make them the way we ordered them. Be it the way the young man hand wrote the orders down from the computer/register or what happened it uncertain so I called her out and my daughter read the order we place to the women so it was done correctly. Similar incident happened in the late summer early fall last year that they never got our order printed out and again had to wait. Chicken burrito bowl was done half assed and with barely anything in it. I messaged owner Marc LaMania of this and he said he'd credit me back for the burrito bowl and to this day that never happened. I told Marc I'd message him if my order wasn't correct without leaving a Yelp Review and he appreciated that but never was compensated as I was told I'd be and enough is enough. As much as we enjoy the food we don't want to stand there and place each order and if there's been a problem with the online ordering maybe it should be fixed or not offer that service at this location anymore. Spending over $123.00 is a big deal for take out but don't know if this is the place we will spending our money again! So disappointed read more

Always a disaster coming to the locations out on the north fork. The Aquebogue location used to send take out order 1st instead of people who used dine it. Have waited over a hour for tacos but watch take out orders keep going out like no one's business. Now since that has closed the Mattituck location is a disaster. The online system says 20 mins but I waited a hour in the store. Told I was next ticket then watch 3 other orders leave before me. Only to get home and then have my order wrong. The food is amazing but the experience is terrible!!! There are no wait staff!!! You are basically ordering Togo food and eating it on site. At 2:30 in the afternoon, we "ordered" our drinks and food (you don't actually see any staff, you have to order on an app from your phone)... so then we just sat and waited, will our margs come out before our food? I guess the chips we ordered don't come until the food comes out? So many questions and no humans to talk to. There were only 2 other people "dining in" at the time but we were given a 30 minute guesstimate of when our tacos would be ready... so sat around confused, until our drinks came and THEN we saw a person who explained how this works... not impressed. Why eat out if there is no social interaction, I could have this delivered. This seems like a candid camera set up it's so ridiculous.
