We came to Lucianna's for brunch! Initial thoughts a beautiful, spacious venue. We made a reservation so we were sat upon arrival. I overheard another server telling the table next to us that the restaurant was not making mac and cheese until 4pm for dinner- so there would be no Mac and cheese for brunch. The customer was upset- and so were we. We definitely love trying Mac and cheese from different locations- we love cheese!! That was upsetting, especially when you're paying a nice amount of money. It seemed like the rest of the food was in stock so we leaned on that. The omelette station was great! They had a lot of variety and the chef was nice. She spoke to me in Spanish so I spruced up on my skills !! I did need to ask her for a plate because the plates were missing from the buffet and I wasn't sure where to find them. Finally someone from the staff brought plates- so I was in business! They had a hot bar on the wall near the omelette station which included fried chicken, bacon, eggs, potatoes, caramelized bananas, I might be missing something- it was pretty good and they kept it stocked most of the time. Made to order was shrimp and grits (not great or flavorful in my opinion) but the waffles were okay. The staff walked around with different cuts of meat and pineapple and shaved it off for us to try. I enjoyed the pineapple and the chicken wrapped in bacon... I just unwrapped it. I don't eat beef or pork, so yeah. They also had skirt steak and another type of pork. Babe tried all the meat and it looked like he enjoyed it, but he didn't really go back for seconds when they came around again. I thought it was good, but not excellent. I was just looking for something more for the experience. Then gentleman busser did a great job of clearing the plates and glasses to ensure we had space at the table and it looks neat and clean so we could continue to enjoy our food. The cold bar has a LOT of variety! But some of the food looked a little dried out like it's been left up there for a while. I knew it couldn't have been there for too long because brunch had only been open for about two hours prior to us arriving. Maybe pairing foods with the right environment to make them look and taste their best for a Buffet would make it look more appealing (example: the mussels- looked really dry, and I wanted to try them but it didn't look appetizing. Maybe put them in a sauce so they can look more appealing)... they might have tasted good but they looked old so I didn't try them. All the drinks were really good so that is def a win!! We tried the strawberry mimosa and the peach Bellini! Our server Chiquera did a wonderful job! She was super polite and attentive... she is the reason I would return to the restaurant. She also gave great suggestions! She gave me her specialty blueberry mojito - and it was fresh and just delicious! I think if the menu was reworked a bit to give the buffet food a fair chance and actually having what is on the menu available (Mac and cheese).. this place could do even better! read more

Traveling to Maryland for the holidays, I decided to host a last minute birthday dinner with family and friends that are locals. They immediately suggested Lucianna's Steakhouse who recently came under new ownership. Owners Robbi and Syncer were so gracious and professional. The Chef was amazing and waiter Aaron was extremely patient and attentive. I understand the suggestion because THE FOOD!! I tried almost everything from the cold bar. Fell in love with the chicken salad. The hot bar had something for everyone and the rounds of meat and grilled pineapple were impeccable. I would never come here again. Lol we ventured here to celebrate my husbands co worker's birthday. For the price you pay I would expect not only better service but better food. The food was bland...flavorless and the service sucked. I ordered a drink and it took forever to get to me. I just canceled my drink order...they definitely need to take some notes from some other area restaurants and further more from restaurants such as Chima in Va.... Sunday brunch for 4 was 250. That's 62 dollars a person for a brunch with no crab legs or even salmon. Plus a 25% tip because I felt bad for them. The three "Brazilian style" meats they were serving on skewers were dry and tough. The "omelette"I got was more scrambled then anything. The cold bar was sparse, and why did the deviled eggs taste like straight yellow mustard? I'm not even exaggerating. Sad. The icing on the cake was the shrimp and grits. These are "made to order" so I asked for some because I thought they were going to be something special. I was wrong. The shrimp were the smallest possible shrimp imaginable. You could barely see them in the tasteless gravy served over unseasoned instant grits, which were not smooth and creamy at all. Y'all definitely need a woman with fat on her arms to make the grits. Is this really a black owned restaurant with grits like that? And the tables were small and covered with a paper tablecloth. The chairs were small and uncomfortable and rounded at the top so you couldn't even hang your coat on the back. And they had paper napkins on the table settings. For the price, y'all can do better than paper napkins and tablecloths on a Sunday brunch! They weren't even trying. Wow. Just wow. Years ago, this building use to be the Hong Kong buffet but at least they had variety, and crab legs. And as bad as the food at that place was, this one is worse. Especially for the price point. I'm not going to give up hope for Lucianna's. I think having a restaurant like this in Waldorf is amazing; however, in my opinion from my first visit here, there are some things that can be better. After signing up for their email notifications, I received an email stating they would be offering New Year's Day brunch w/ complimentary mimosas. I immediately made reservations for us, via Resy (I absolutely love that you can make reservations online!). My family and I arrive on New Years Day, are greeted by the friendly doorman, are promptly seated, and wait a whole 15 mins before our waitress comes to our table. Our waitress from that point forward was extremely slow-paced and honestly not that attentive to us. The food on the other hand was a lot better. The salad bar that day was pretty extensive - offering shrimp cocktail, king crab legs, a variety of ceviches, crab deviled eggs, and an array of desserts. The king crab was super delish as well as the shrimp. The meats that were brought around were just okay, nothing really stood out to me as being "omg good." However, the brussels sprouts (although they could've been a little warmer temperature wise), biscuits, and Brazilian cheese bread were amazing! I think I had 5-6 cheese rolls. They also had a waffle and omelet station, which was a nice touch, but my waffles could've been cooked a little longer and crisper, and the batter a little more sweeter and buttermilk-y. All in all, for about $40 I enjoyed all-I-could eat and truly look forward to returning to Lucianna's for brunch again as well as dinner and maybe even for lunch. Decided to surprise hubby with a date night and we have been wanting to try this place. We came earlier than our resv but they still sat us.(greatly appreciated) Food was good and drinks were good. They came around with the meats often in the beginning then we found ourselves having to request closer to the end of our dinner (which we expected so it wasn't a negative). The salad bar was decent pretty basic. I saw on the menu that they offer mac and cheese but I didn't see any, maybe you have to request it. Same with salmon and pulled pork, both listed on menu but I didn't see it or get offered it. (I don't feel like I should have to ask for something that supposed to be included, I didn't ask for the other meats... but those were brought around so why not the salmon?) The chicken wings lacked flavor but all the other meats we were offered were really good. My fav was the lamb! I really liked that the use the single ice cube in my hubby's drink. Super cute. I ordered a mule but I wanted tequila instead of vodka. The lady ask me did I have a preference of liquor, I said use don Julio, she came back and said they don't have it, I said ok use casamigos, she came back and said she didn't have it, I asked well what do you have... and she turned and only saw and said patron. So I said ok. But when the bill came they charged me $3. I asked why and they said cuz Patron was an up charge. (I was annoyed because patron was all that was offered to me so why am I paying extra?) I was in a hurry and it was just $3 so I just paid it. But I still don't understand that. (On my receipt they even listed the up charge as Grey Goose because their system didn't have any tequila listed to input, lol) But all in all, I would actually return if I'm offered what is included in my price. Let's start with the good: The waitress was nice We were sat immediately (but then again, there were only two other tables occupied) We got there at about 5pm, they had just opened at 4pm. They failed to tell us that they were out of certain items (of course, those were the items we were looking forward to). The meats were overcooked & dry. The ribeye was the only meat that was halfway decent. It took a while for more of the limited selections to come around. Brussel sprouts were the only good item on the hot bar. Came here to celebrate my organization's annual holiday brunch this past weekend. The feedback from guests was that they had a good time. The staff were friendly and the owners were attentive through the whole event. We enjoyed the hot and cold brunch options and liked we could order omelets and waffles at the table. The hot buffet options could have been better. It was not much to choose from and they were not replenished quick enough when some of the trays ran out of food. The staff, although friendly, would sometimes forget orders or not know who ordered what. That's an important part of the experience. Despite that, my guests and I had a pretty good time. I had a great experience here. My party had a total of 5 people. We were greeted at the door and given hand sanitizer. We were promptly sat at our table. The waitress was helpful. The "sides menu" included crab legs, and clams and shrimp along with the salad bar which also included deviled eggs, tomato caprese. The meats menu included several different choices of steak along with bacon wrapped chicken. To say I was full and felt like I had to be rolled out of there would be an understatement. We came at opening (2pm) on a Sat as a party of 4. -The pass around meat that you are literally here for, did not start coming out until 230. This is unacceptable, IMO. As a chef/restaurant mgr you know your cook times and you know your opening time. I get you want things to be fresh, so I'd allow a 10-15 minute grace period but not 30 -We spent 90 minutes here, mostly waiting for the different types of meats to come out. We had already gotten our check and a repeat of sausage came out before the rib-eye. See above. This can be planned, I don't understand why we couldn't have been offered everything off the $50 per plate menu within NINETY MINUTES -The sides are meh with the exception of the brazilian cheese bread, which is great. The sprouts were no were near crispy enough and too heavily sauced at the bottom. The mac and cheese was bad. Kraft is better. We were also under the impression from the waitress that those two items were part of our pricing but we 'just had to ask for them' because they are MTO yet we were charged for them at billing -The ambiance is bad. The restaurant was cold. The music was someone's spotify list because we heard ads every few minutes. The restroom stalls are dark, and the toilet paper roll wasn't started down, so you keep spinning the round trying to find how to start it, which is both annoying and unsanitary -the service wasn't great. The place was pretty empty and my water glass was empty for so long so for so many times that the server gave up and brought me a pitcher -most of the meat was over cooked. when you go to a higher end version of these, the server sill ask you if you want well done, medium, medium rare, whatever, slices and know where to cut it to give you what you want. not here. nothing was leathery but no pink to be seen either. read more

Hey Yelpers!! It's been a minute with this Covid19 etc but I had to get out the house and I wanted STEAK! So you know how I do we grade on Atmosphere, Service and of course FOOD!! Atmosphere (4.5 Stars) - now I had my wife and 10month old son with me so you know I was on my social distances and this place had outdoor seating in shade! Now this was very nice and they even had music for those of us who chose to sit outside. We didn't have to wait to long before our waitress arrived, that was great! My only complaint is they could have had some of those insect repellent candles going or apparatus because the flies were a downer. That's the reason for the deduction of .5 star. Service (5 Stars) we were greeted with a smile, our reservation was honored and they even came by occasionally to check on us. They were doing construction on the side and the gentleman was even kind enough to inform of us what was going on and if that was ok with us! Now that's what I'm talking about! Making sure your guests are comfortable! Food (4 stars) my wife ordered a Strawberry Vinegarette salad and she enjoyed it! We also had mashed potatoes for my little man and he ate 80% of it. I ordered a Rib Eye steak Medium Well and it was well seasoned but over cooked. Little on the dry side. I was disappointed because it's a Steakhouse! This is such a shame because with grace, this could have been a 4/5 star review and definitely repeat business. However, it didn't end that way. For someone who eats out alot, I could have easy seen me and my people here for a bite and cocktails regularly even at 40-50 bucks a piece (although it might not be completely worth it) because we support brown business...Let's start with the facts. Yes. It was a reserved party of 35 with a 300 deposit. Unfortunately, only like 13 showed up. Yes, the birthday girl was like 40 minutes late.....now, nothing written anywhere says this resulted in the loss of money.. the conversation the "owner" (youngish brown woman with braids)also did not end with the understanding of 300 lost. She said "reserver" (bday lady) would not get it back, but it would go to the bill. Cool, she was ok with that...Nothing about late or party number was stated or relevant in that conversation. Sooo we go on to have a good time. Service was good. Slightly slow, but they have servers bringing drinks, meat, etc. So we understood and were not upset about that Ashley was actually very good as a waitress. 5 stars. Food was good/ok, we did wait for replenishment of multiple things and definitely waited for and had to ask for meat service. Additionaly most food was kind of bland, omlette lady didnt know how to make omlettes, food was luke warm etc..(Not normal/ok for good business but it was alright we were good) Now we are at the end, and the bill comes, and only 100 of the deposit is reflected. The manager who is now on duty is clearly running off a script. "She was told that we understood the 300 was lost due to late arrival and only 25 % of the party showing up... we are telling her that's not the conversation the "owner" had with the reserver. Even Ashely, the waitress stated to the table that the deposit would be credited toward the bill... we aren't all lying.... the manager is staring how the late policy is a new polic, but number of people showing up or not has been in place etc.etc...we're informing her, that new or old, none of it is written anywhere and none of it is in a contract and none of that was said while we were here when the owner spoke to the bday lady...so she just keeps running that script and we are like ok call "her"back because you keep talking about what she said..we need to talk to she...(because she's gone for the day)..so now we're courteously waiting on tqhe owner... and eventually a really muscular brown guy shows up...the other owner....ummm no one has talked to him or knew he existed but ok....he at first glance appears to be mild mannered and is calmly running the same script...the minute anyone other than the birthday lady says anything he is immediately RUDE. At the end of all this. The threats to call the police were unwarranted and just a reflection of poor business etiquette. We never wanted to pay the bill, and the whole thing could have been covered without issue...the fact is... the owner (lady) said the deposit was going to the bill. And if she and policy stated anything different, why even put the 100 of the deposit towards the bill?? In the words of the "owner" (male) that 200 wouldn't hurt anyone, and yet, here we are...if it didnt hurt he could have stayed in his bed and told them to go ahead and wave it since he "didn't get out of his bed fir principal"....but like I said, this is principal and what was said was not what was done... So, at the end of it, we called CC and disputed anything more than 150 of the deposit, and we left 310 in cash. Yall be blessed and Work it out because yall are wrong. Good business is clear, and bad business is messy. This was messy!!! Ashley, you deserved more, but we didn't see you to put it in your hands, and we definitely didn't trust anyone there to just leave it in hopes that you'd get it... leave them and don't come back like we did...there are plenty if restaurant that need good servers and we know how to treat them and they know how to treat customers. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. This was easily one of my worst dining experiences. My wife and I honestly talked about whether Gordon Ramsey was going to come out from the kitchen and have us sign our TV waiver for being on Kitchen Nightmare. Where to begin. The salad bar is abysmal, and only runs you the outlandish price of $35+ per person. The shrimp are cold and tough, the "charcuterie" looks like someone unpacked a bunch of lunchables, and nothing else looked appealing enough to bother trying. The "hot bar" food is mostly dry and unappealing. And then we come to the "full experience". If you've ever been to a Brazilian steakhouse, you will be left absolutely flabbergasted. Many times, we waited so long between offerings for steak that any juices on our plate actually had time to congeal. Come here for the conversation, because you'll have plenty of it as you wait for your next serving of meat. More egregious was that one of the servers asked if there was anything we would like, told us he'd be right out with it...and then we were promptly ignored for 30+ minutes. When we asked another server when more meat (of *any* kind) would be out, he told us the kitchen had closed. (Oh yeah, by the way, ignore that the restaurant closes at 10, because you won't get any food after 9 when they close the kitchen without notice). The steaks were okay, and our waiter himself was pleasant, but this place is run absolutely abysmally. If you want Brazilian steakhouse, look elsewhere. If you want steak at all, look elsewhere. This place is the Crem de la Crem! I have always wanted to experience a Brazilian Steakhouse and this one did not disappoint. I came to their MLK holiday brunch with my family of 25! We did not have to wait to be seated and were very well taken care of by our waitress Sade and the rest of the front of the house. Each round of food was hot and repetitive. I had parts of meat I didnt even know existed. The drinks are a bit pricey, so be prepared for that. I was especially impressed with omelette and meat carving station. Kudos to the real Debbie Reynolds! The omelettes were great. They have a full bar, but I did not get to get something. I understand they have Saturday brunch and its similar. It's nice to have a Brazilian steakhouse in the area instead of having to cross the bridge or go into DC. We came on a Sunday at 4pm, so we were one of the first couple of tables. We were actually told because they were booked for the night we would have a 90 minute limit but we weren't rushed out, I think we were there a little over 2 hours. Everything was fresh and untouched when we arrived. It took a little while ( maybe 10 min. Not long but I was hungry) for them to begin bringing around the meat but once they started they kept coming and quick, a bit overwhelming. I did go to the sides bar before they started with the meat but I didn't go back, I didn't find anything to be that great, plus I came for the meat . All the meat that I tried was good, nothing was dry or overcooked. The pineapple was good too, I could prob eat that whole thing. I ordered 2 drinks, one was the Brazilian one, capri something flavored with mango and vodka and also the tipsy strawberry lemonade. Both weren't bad although I like the lemonade better. If you want more alcohol in your drink get the Brazilian ones. The desserts of the night( not sure if it changes but there wasn't a menu) were underwhelming. I did try the Oreo mousse cake it was alright not a huge mousse fan. Our waiter was Anthony and we had no issues with him. The gentlemen bringing the meat sound were also pleasant. Now this is a place worth the visit! My family and I visited in Late April/Early May. We were looking for somewhere closer to our home area with bottomless mimosas and came across Luciannna's. At first we weren't going to give it a try because we heard such negative things but decided to try it anyway. We were NOT disappointed! Those mimosas? Bottomless. The food? Bottomless. Our stomachs? STUFFED. Our waitress kept the drinks coming and the proteins kept coming too! I highly recommend eating your weight in the grilled pineapples! This restaurant is similar to Fogo de Chao with a sort of buffet style setup for sides and staff bringing different types of meats and protein to the table. The staff was extremely friendly with it being our first time there. We made reservations, but it wasn't too packed for a Saturday brunch. I will definitely be going back as now they are under new owners/management, but I have a feeling I won't be disappointed!!! We made reservations but they were not ready to seat us. The waffle was terrible. Not sure how you can mess up a waffle but... Food didn't seem as fresh as it should be. Beef was tough as leather. Overall, the stale dining area smell makes me think of dirty dishrags and dirty carpet. Staff members were eating, drinking and chit chatting. I made reservations for 5:30 for five adults two kids for my sons birthday, we got there and was told that to menu was "a la carte" and not the regular menu, we got seated and started to order appetizers Calamari, Brazilian sampler ,wings etc all which came out within 30mins which was fine. Entrées were also ordered so at 6:50 we saw the manager and asked if the wait time is usually this long he said no and will look into it!! 7:15 is when the first plate came out and the rib eye was cold, and Consecutively every 5 minutes a plate came out so finally at about 7:30 I got my plate and was to angry to eat so I asked for a to-go box. If you are a meat lover this is the place for you. The food is pretty good and the servers are continuously making rounds of all different kinds of food. There is also a salad bar and a regular dinner menu. The place is located in a great spot with plenty of parking. The setting inside the restaurant is pretty cool. Great for large parties. My family and I enjoyed our dinner at Lucianna's steakhouse. Impressed with the restaurant, food and service. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the cleanliness. Most of all, the rounds of meat were delicious, and the salad bar had a lot of variety. I appreciate when there's a good selection of hot food. Loved the cheese bread, brussels sprouts, beans, grilled pineapple and fried banana. I ordered a Brazilian lemonade and it was perfect ! All I can say is I'm coming back. WORST FOOD EVER! My stomach is still hurting, cringing After trying Fogo de Chao and Chima numerous times, me and my husband decided to try Lucianna's for our anniversary. So we get there, the door man is standing in the way being TOO SLOW, he gave us sanitizer and just continued being super slow that we thought he was maybe stalling us on purpose for some reason? Okay we get in there, they're like "server will be there shortly", we wait, wait and wait. Server finally comes with water and tells us to get some salads, okay, most salads/cheese looked old. We sat down waiting for meat service literally FOREVER. Mind you after all this delay, more than 20 mins in, the server gets us some sides, they were all ew except for the cheese bread that was literally the only thing edible. Then again still waiting for meat service, and don't see any meat server in sight. Probably an hour in that meat started coming and let me tell you, it was BLAND, CHEWY, PULLING, RAW, RARE, OVERCOOKED, DRY all of them together yes. It was the WORST meat ever and i'm not even exaggerating. We waited, maybe we just got a bad one, next was worse, and after was even more worse. I finally asked the server if all meat was dry, she said she can put a fresh round for us, i'm like great!! She asked how we like it and we said medium/medium well. After waiting forever, the fresh round comes, not rare but RAW! At that point we were like enough is enough lets get the check, then comes in a lamb server, we said lets give it its last chance and uh i wish we didn't. It was Stinking yes stinking terribly and it was hard I couldn't get my fork through I called the manager to let him know of my terrible experience, he was nice and offered to call in fresh round to our temperature liking, but again we tried this already and there was no point. Nothing against the servers, they were nice and did their job. But they definitely need new cooks as the food was worst ever and therefore overpriced for the quality. Shoutout to the nice female employee that brought my toddler cotton candy when she fell of the chair while we were there. Summary: spend $20 more and eat at Fogo de Chao or Chima or save your money and go get yourself Chipotle. I do not recommend this place and I will never go back even if they pay me. read more

For those used to Fogo de Chao or Texas de Brazil quality, this place is leagues better. The cooked pineapple is to die for, the servers are on point, the skirt steak and leg of lamb will melt in your mouth. A bit heavy on the coarse salt for the meats but they will bring you what you like the most. read more

Had reservations for 6:00 12/10. We got there and was seated promptly. The place wasn't that crowded they had two large parties going on that day. It took maybe a good ten minutes before anyone came to our table to get our beverages, bring bread and our dinner selections. We all the dinner options. Then I ask if I can get macaroni and cheese as my side and my waiter said he will put that order in that took about 20 minutes to get but not sure how long that takes for them to fix. The meat selections came out slow, Staff that came out to bring out the meat options walked right by our table when we had the sign on green, we had to say can you come to this table. This would be my fifth time coming here and the last time it was the same with the customer service. First couple of times coming before new management was awesome. The ambiance was very nice & the food was good and plentiful. I went for Brunch and there was so much good food. I wanted to try more but I was stuffed early during the experience. I tried to pace myself better but could not make room for more. We had "spiked" Sangria which added shot of tequila & it was DELICIOUS too. Restaurant was not crowded at all which surprised me because the website suggested reservations for brunch. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was the meat that came around was a tad overcooked. I assume that it was not in constant rotation because there was so few customers to eat all that was offered. The flavor of the meat was good though. The wait staff was very nice and accommodating. The ladies at the hot bar/omelet/waffle station were very helpful. They took our order for waffles & brought them to our table instead of us having to wait in line. Our main waiter & the rotating waiters with the meats were very helpful too. They checked on us often. I will return to Lucianna's, it was very good overall experience. read more

Celebrated my organization's annual holiday brunch Lucianna's and the feedback from guests was that they had a great time. The staff were friendly and the owners were attentive through the whole event. We enjoyed the hot and cold brunch options and liked we could order omelets and waffles at the table. I love supporting my people (black businesses) but this was subpar at most. I love steakhouse's but this was lackluster. The cold/hot bar was nothing to desired. The food didn't seem to be made with love. I wished a manager would have came by and asked how the evening was, so I wouldn't have had to come here. This is my first time writing a review on yelp. The "Brazilian Meats" weren't good. The chicken rapped in bacon was ok, but where was the sausage, lamb chops and Lobster Bisque. The white rice was over cooked. The steak was either under cooked or over cooked. The black beans were great though. The rice was overcooked and the Mac and cheese was like a Cracker Barrel white cheddar. It wasn't good at all. The bread was a slider bun bread with Kraft cheese and garlic sauce (not good). There was a mid-30's female server who gave us great service. There was a black male service who could have used some deodorant. And how are you a Brazilian steakhouse and don't know how to make a Caipirinha!?! Lucianna's used to be amazing but lately it's been going downhill. the quality of the food is subpar. the meat is decent and the sides are decent. the service is always great and the environment is always classy and clean but not much can be done because the food is ehh. I took my son and his mom to dinner here on January 4th for their combined birthdays. Good news: The meat was on point. Bad news: The service was horrendous. Not just "horrendous for a high-end place," but horrendous for anywhere. We weren't a high-maintenance table, but had to beg for a dessert menu. After that, we had an inordinate wait for someone to take the dessert order. After that long wait, the guy comes back to tell us one of the desserts isn't available. The birthday girl switches to what I ordered. The guy eventually wanders back to let us know they're out of that, too. If your business sells dessert, how about arming people with the knowledge of what and isn't on hand? Failing the first pass, how did he not check to see whether mine was on hand once he got the alternate order from my companion? Okay, that's a sign that we're done, may I please just have a the check? And I wait. And I wait. And I wait. And I wait. I finally ask the greeter to cash me out and it has to wait for the server. Who makes me wait some more. I'm sitting at the bar just steaming, watching fully capable people do nothing to expedite a paying customer who's trying to give this establishment over $170. The server fails. The greeter at least let the server know I was waiting, but neither apologized nor attempted to get a manager involved when I was in limbo. Does this place even have a manager? If so, it wasn't apparent on Wednesday evening. read more
