My husband and I decided to try this place out since it is so close to home. I got the combo plate with garlic chicken, and won tons. I thought the pork fried rice and chow mein lacked flavor. The won tons and garlic chicken were delicious. For two meals for $11.95 can't beat that. My husband agreed that East China Town is still number #1 in our book. Some stand outs include Mongolian Combo, Walnut Prawns, Dry Fried String Beans, and The Crab puffs. But who cares, to each their own. Here's the real story: the customer service was fantastic. It would have taken me three trips to get my food to the car alone (month long craving, ok?), but two employees, mom and son I believe, helped me to my car. While I waited a sweet young lady with an adorable baby on her back chatted with me. Now, this place is in the least savory neighborhood and is barely more than a hole in the wall. New to the area and decided to try this restaurant since I'm a New Yorker that LOVES great Chinese and other Asian cuisine, and the pics showed great food. The owner and his wife are so kind. Great portions for the price. I purchased the prawn and wonton soup, it was wonderful. Hearty, vegetables are the perfect consistency and fresh. The only reason I left out 2 stars is because on more than one occasion the egg roll/spring rolls I purchased tasted stale. The consistency of the rolls were chewy. They are also could add a better portion of meat they put into their fried rice. The first time I bought combination fried rice and it contained exactly 2 prawns. The second time was the bbq pork fried rice, and the pork was scarce. I chalked it up to ordering take out and not seeing my food until I got home. read more

I ordered online through Yelp and the my order was delivered 20 minutes before their stated delivery time! Awesome delivery service. I opened the food and it smelled amazing. I ordered the lemon chicken, pork fried rice, chow mein, and fried wontons. The lemon chicken was immediately satisfying just by the look and smell (they put the sauce on for me, I loved that! I hate sauce on the side). The fried rice was a little bland but that was good because the lemon chicken had such a strong delicious flavor, I'd hate for it to be ruined by over powering rice. Chow mein was delicious and I normally don't like Chow mein. Oh and i got potstickers! The potsticker was great but the sauce it comes it......AMAZING! I will definitely be ordering from here again! Easily the best Chinese food for the price. Very reasonable prices for good quality food. The storefront isn't much to look at but it's a diamond in the rough. Amazing customer service!!!!! I accidentally ordered the Kung pao combo instead of chicken & when my food arrived I noticed the shrimp. I have a severe shellfish allergy. Another really good meal from Lucky Bamboo. I ordered delivery of Egg Flower soup, Fried Chicken Wings, Steamed Pork Buns and BBQ Pork Chow Fun. This was my first time trying the Egg Flower soup and it was delicious although I did add some soy sauce because it needed a little boost of flavor, but the amount of eggs was so satisfying. My favorite item were the Fried Chicken Wings. They are always so juicy and crispy and the leftovers heat up perfectly in the toaster oven in just minutes. They will re-crisp!!! The area was sketchy to the point where I thought I would get mugged or my car would be broken into. A typical hole in the wall place for being on Yosemite Ave in a run down plaza. When I entered the place was bland, only one table had condiments and the tables were bare. I ordered the #25 Wor Wonton Soup, glass of water and hot tea. I received my water with no ice and requested a straw. After two drinks of the water to verify, I found that the water tasted dirty. Due to this establishment not having a beverage fountain that meant that the water was tap water and not filtered. Due to the water I noticed the Coke refrigerator unit and requested a cold bottled tea from there. I also had to request my hot tea as it was not brought out with my water. When I received my order of the Wor Wonton Soup, it was in a large bowl and contained a large portion of ingredients. Visually the soup looked bland and upon tasting the soup I verified that it was bland with no flavor nor seasoning to it. I was very disappointed with the meal. read more

We ordered the salt and pepper tofu, veggie fried rice, veggie fried thin noodles, chicken with mushrooms, and salt and pepper wings. Everything was so delicious. I would recommend trying the tofu. I've only had one experience here and it will most definitely be my last. I called in an order and was told it would be ready in twenty minutes. I arrived close to fifteen minutes after I place my order, I arrived, paid, and patiently waited. I noticed my soup was on the counter and the lady said it would be a couple more minutes. After an additional fifteen minutes (and a couple people who came in after me and was served before me) my boneless ribs finally came out. I had to request a new soup since the soup that was waiting for me since the beginning was now cold. After the wait I was sooooo excited for some boneless ribs and soup and the food was beyond disappointing. The ribs didn't look or taste like ribs, it reminded me more of orange chicken and the soup was bland, no flavor and the wontons were small and tasteless. I am picky when it comes to Chinese food. However, this place was just not fulfilling my need. The lady in the front was very nice, the water tasted like bleach, and the table was sticky. I ordered the General Tso Chicken with Chow Mein. The food came on a plastic plate, like the ones they have in jails. When I tasted the chicken it was bland, and it has a burnt taste to it. The breading on the chicken was soggy and tasted old. The shrimp that came with it was super oily and the shrimp were not fresh either. I only paid $10, so I wish I could at least eat the food but is was not tasty at all. I left within my second bite it was just not good. read more

Called in at 6:20pm on a Sunday to order a delivery, the employee that answered the phone stated they don't do deliveries this "late"at night because the driver simply does not like driving when it is dark. My gf and I tasted American Chinese food around the Modesto area and I think this place is one of the best I can compare in this city. It is nothing compare to Bay Area but the owners are very nice and welcoming. The food is priced well and good. I ordered general chicken lunch special and my gf ordered pepper chicken with black bean sauce. As far as quantity it is average but the taste is what matters to me.
