One of my favorite Thai places. The other spot is the Lucky Elephant in San Dimas. I'm a creature of habit and usually just order the same things because they never disappoint. Panang curry with chicken or beef over rice and Thai donuts for dessert. They have a lot of other great choices that I've tried from friends ordering and you really can't go wrong with your order. Great flavors and fresh food! Whenever I feel like treating myself for lunch, this is the spot I go to for their lunch specials. Comes with a spring roll and wonton soup. Their food just beats out the other Thai places around. It is a little more dressed up than other Thai restaurants, but that just adds more to the experience of dining out without having to pay an extra premium. I really want to give this place more than 3 stars but I can't. They're ok. The service started off bad because there was a large party there that was just leaving so it took awhile to get a table. Once we got a table the service was decent. They need to smile more. They looked like they were forced to serve, ugh. I ordered the rangoon (gross and cold), the tom kha gai soup with chicken (it was ok not the best), and the pad thai noodles with chicken. I'm not an expert by any means but I've had my fair share of pad thai at other restaurants and their pad thai noodles tasted gross and the chicken over cooked like it was rubbery. The 1st bite I'm like eww but then I decided well maybe it's just me. Nope, 2nd bite and I'm like nope can't do it. My sister took them home. Only thing I liked was the egg rolls and the thai tea. Ordered from postmates, Chicken/pork fried rice and Tom kha gai (coconut soup) Rice was bland with no real flavor. Very little Chicken was added not to mention very dry ,and there was no pork added(still was charged for it) I have ordered this soup from many restaurants over the years however the soup from here was below standards. I only say this because the soup should contain lemon grass ,shitake mushrooms and have a deep broth flavor with some heat. What I received was a watered down look alike that was not worth the money. Based on the price point of this place (30 bucks for 1 rice dish and 1 soup) it is not worth it. My husband and I decided to attend the Grand Opening of Lucky Elephant in Ontario. We had been watching it's construction and were waiting for the opening, since we literally live down the street. The decor is amazing. Very themed and set into the world of Thailand. The attention to detail is stunning. The service was definitely top-notch, as well as food delivery and presentation. My husband and I shared the Fried Tofu appetizer, Tom Kah Gai and the Fried Ice Cream. I also decided to try their Thai Iced Tea. Everything was absolutely delicious! I loved the entire meal, and I especially enjoyed the sauce that came with our fried tofu. What I found the most interesting was the self-timed flame keeping our soup warm. A lot of the time, in other restaurants, we have to turn it off ourselves. The big bonus for me: Flat Screen TVs with a presentation of Thailand -- that was very original! The decor and interior are very festive and cute-- love the tribute to elephants in the glass section. I got the veggie red curry with tofu, and it was okay. The sauce was a bit too watery for my taste, but the spice and sweetness were there. However it seemed like they used canned veggies and just dumped it in the dish with a few pieces of tofu. My husband and I popped in right before a movie. First impression is the beautiful and dramatic Thai decor. We felt like were right back in Thailand, a country we adore and miss. The service was fantastic. Our server was a young man who was polite, accommodating and funny. Food came out right away. We ordered the Tom Kha Gai and it was spiced perfectly. I never have truly bad experiences with customer service at restaurants, but this was probably the worst experience I've ever had the service was fine in the beginning took a while for food, drinks but it's understandable but when it came time to pay this older waitress gave us $25 in change when total was $64 and we paid with an $100 bill we explained to her that she didn't give us all our change and that we were missing a good amount of it she was extremely rude and disrespectful trying to accuse us of taking the $10 she owed us she went on to tell us she would check cameras and count the register we told her to do what she needed to do but she owed us the $10 I had showed her the receipt with all the change and yelled at us "LET ME COUNT" well taking the money when she finally realized she was in the wrong she said whatever and handed us the change she talked to us in such a rude tone trying to accuse us of taking the money I don't understand why she couldn't have been respectful about the situation she knew she owed us $10 because giving a customer a dollar or two short in change is understandable but you should know when you are giving a customer $10 short this lady is the same lady I'm sure other people have said stares since we got in she was staring at my partner in a disrespectful way I'm not surprised she did this I'm sure it had to do with his race because she was being extremely nasty and that isn't necessary because we were nothing but respectful she shouldn't have been disrespectful because she was in the wrong read more

Anthony Bourdane made a statement that the green papaya salad was the best salad you would ever eat at he's not wrong, the salad here is a bright and shining star and so is the Larb salad with pork. I am sorry to have to write this review. My family has been going to Lucky Elephant in Ontario--dining in, taking out, and catering parties--for years. We like the food, it is as delicious and varied as any Thai restaurant we have tried in the area, and it is also the closest Thai restaurant. Last night at 7:50 I called in a takeout order, some "the usual dishes" (Mee Krob crispy noodles, Pad See Ew) and some new ones (Sunshine Trout, Emperor Shrimp Rolls.) The host repeated it back to me accurately and told me to be there in 15-20 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes after ringing off, identified myself, the host handed me the bill (about $90) which I paid, then directed me to sit in the waiting area. It was busy, most of the tables were filled. After about 15 minutes, a party arrived and was told it was after closing, so they could not be seated. After about 30 minutes, someone came in for takeout and was promptly given their order. I stood up and headed for the counter, probably with a cross look on my brow (I was wearing a mask), and the host stopped me saying "very soon, one more dish!" Fifteen minutes later, with only one party still at a table, I went to the register and asked "which dish takes so long--I won't order it again" and the answer was "only one chef tonight, it was very busy!" A moment later two neatly packed bags with my order came out, along with repeated apologies. The packaging was, as always, careful and effective, and the food was hot and up to its usual standard. But when someone tells me "ready in 15-20 minutes" but it takes more than an hour, and the explanation is perfunctory, and they do not offer so much as a glass of water as accommodation, I consider that to be terrible customer service. So this regular customer is giving it one star and does not plan to be back soon. I advise anyone who orders takeout here to NOT pay the bill before the food is sitting on the table before you. The wait at our favorite Thai restaurant (Sanamluang) was a little too long, so we opted for the Lucky Elephant nearby. Pros: beautiful decor/ambiance, pleasant staff in authentic looking attire, theater right bext door Cons: limited direct parking Overall, the food was just standard. We ordered garlic ribs, thinking it would be as good as Sanamluang, but it wasn't. It was a little more greasy and fatty ribs. We also ordered chicken pad thai, which was a little dry and bland.
