Our first time here and it was great! Everything came out hot and fresh. ..which is how I like my food! The fried chicken was so good because it's dipped in corn starch instead of flour ..which is a necessity for me since I have a gluten intolerance. Really great food! I just discovered this place after it's been there so many years because it's set back from the street with a parking lot in front so it's not easily seen. We have lived close to Lucky Garden for 6 years and finally tried it for the first time (and 4 more times since). I wish we would have tried it along time ago as it has become our new go to Chinese Restaurant. To start with it is very clean and a family run business.Everything we have tried we have been very happy with. Today was my first time eating here after 10yrs. Previously I came here with my Mother and Father. I thought Won Ton soup sounded yummy especially since my daughter loves it. I checked yelp and thought I would try a new spot. I arrived with my 2yr old daughter, and decided to dine in. The service wasn't family friendly. I was sat at a table and given a menu. 10-15min later the waitress took my order, I told her I wanted to also order take out and she said she would take my order after my Won Ton soup arrived. So the reason for my 3 stars is because the waitress never checked in on me once I received my Won Ton Soup. I wasn't offered a high chair for my daughter and when my soup arrived it was a large bowl the kind they normally serve a family from into little bowls with a spoon in it. I had to get up and find a high chair and wait for the waitress to come out of the kitchen to ask for a separate bowl and spoon to feed my daughter. I wanted some soy sauce and again the waitress was in the kitchen so I got up and took one from another table. There was only 2 couples there so I wasn't busy. After that I was given my check and my To go chicken fried rice. I did not eat while I was there. Partly I was a little irritated with the service and wanted to feed my baby and leave. I mostly went to get my daughter her favorite soup she seemed to enjoy it. I'm not a needy person but it is appreciated when you and your children are taken care of especially when you go out to eat. Maybe my waitress was having a bad day or a bad week. Over all my daughters tummy was happy and that's what matters the most. I'm a family person and I don't like posting negative feedback. this evening I went and ordered takeout from lucky garden. The food was delicious, service was excellent and friendly staff! The restaurant was extremely clean and organized. The staff followed all covid protocols and precautions during our time inside. Upon returning home and eating, the portions were very big, food was hot and fresh, felt like a home cooked meal. Since I travel each week, from Lake County to Concord and back, I've had a difficult time finding Chinese food to go! Out of the blue, I decided to try this one and lucky I was! When I got there, a young woman named Kwan, invited me in. She said, Mom, who is the only cook, was out buying fresh vegetables for the day. As I sat and studied the menu, I noticed that many choices were not the usual for a Chinese restaurant! Kwan told me that they've been open for 19 years, every day of the week, until recently. The only day they are now closed is on Mondays! Kwan was great at helping me decide, which were the special and more popular dishes. When mom returned, she started in with her diligent cooking, from the choices I made. First dish was the Salt and Pepper Prawns. The prawns were large and delicately cooked. Next, was the Beef and Asparagus, with water chestnuts. The beef was most tender, asparagus were the small, young ones, and cooked al dente. Next, was the Cherry Chicken. It was lightly breaded and sauted in a delicious, cherry sauce, and not too sweet either. Lastly, we had the Special Chow Mein, which included beef, chicken, pork, and shrimp. Usually, most places only throw in a couple shrimp, but Mom included many! Oh, each time Mom finished cooking a dish, Kwan had me sitting at the table and eat a little of it, before she boxed it up. Needless to say, I was drooling, with each dish Mom cooked. Delicious food, with great great service, as well! I look forward to returning, as there are so many more dishes to order!
