Lucky Grill, I like you and I order from you on Grub Hub on a regular basis. Usually I am very satisfied, but today I asked for a cup of cheese on the side for my fries, and got some slices of cheese only slightly melted at the corner in a cup. What is that? I mean I'm not gonna stop eating here, but come on, really? It's really not a huge deal because there are more important things going on in the world, but I wrote this review because someone else may get really mad. We live in neighborhood and drive by this place a number of times but never stopped. Today we wanted to have breakfast someplace close so we searched Yelp and the reviews for this place were pretty good so we went. I have to say were both were not impressed. My bacon was dry and hard...looks like it was sitting for a while. My husband who ordered a skillet was surprised that the cheese was a slice of processed cheese at the bottom. The bowl of creamer had empty containers from prev guests probably and the butter containers were sticky with syrup, just felt unclean. Lots of people behind the counter standing around where they could be making sure the tables were cleaned and restocked before the next guest. Will not revisit. read more

I ate at this restaurant late afternoon Thursday 6/09/16. Sadly to say that although my dinner was pleasant, I was upset at all of the gay innuendo that was being played out by all of the staff right near the cash register and not to far from me in which I could here practically all that was being said. Questioning a male employee's sexuality and preference on what he prefers doing with another male was in very poor taste and conduct between the two female waitresses and the three male employees. The cook, the bus porter, and the cook. I don't come here as often as I can because I have to rely on the bus nowadays. And it is a long way from where I live, although this time I went because I went to the movies at a theater not too far away and thought it would be nice to eat there for a change. Don't think I'll be going there for awhile. I don't like hearing the wait staff complaining about their work environment as well. But this is something I could not and won't stand for. read more

So I have been here a few times and have ordered delivery as well, usually good service and pretty fast but after today I will not be returning as a customer. Maybe it's a chick thing (it seems the guys mind their business unless dragged into it) the blond at the register and her semi red headed friend immediately began making fun of me (absolutely clueless as to why) and thought I couldn't see them (though they had the just caught look when I made eye contact with them). I have no idea why and frankly I don't care. It was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and uncalled for because I never live my life like that and have been nothing but polite and friendly to every staff member I run into. Food was quick though and that's why I'll give 2 stars. If you're good at ignoring disrespectful staff whom you help to pay the wages of then go ahead and dine here. *I ended up speaking to the manager over the phone after finding out that after I pulled out of parking lot, an employee approached my friends claiming they didn't pay a dollar that they owed. He mentioned the lack of tip to them as well. How did they not pay that dollar if they paid their bill at the register??? He basically tried to make them feel bad about not tipping a large amount even though the service there was horrible. When I found out what happened to them I was beyond livid! If your going to run a restaurant, the seaters need to be able to understand English. We we waiting to be seated and asked for a table as opposed to a booth and your seater didn't comprende and seated the 2 that came 10 minutes after us at the open table. read more

This is a pretty basic diner that serves good food. The decor is a bit outdated but it's clean, the people are friendly, and the food is better than other restaurants like it. And they have organic eggs as an option, which is appreciated! read more

The service was horrible- our waitress was a mature woman 40-50 years of age. She truly should seek other employment. She could not take our order without repeating it 3 times with mistakes. (That should have been my 1st clue) She apologized stating she was having a bad day- and referenced drinking after work. The food came and both my order and my husband's were incorrect!!! The straw that broke the camel's back was when she went to another person's table and took waffles from a customer's table and brought them to me. These waffles had been at that table at least Five minutes, it was at that time she had brought the wrong toast to our table and realized the waffles were for us. I find that very unsantitary- who knows what could have been done to those unwanted waffles at the first table they inhabited. The waffles BTW were soggy on one side! Went to cash wrap left food uneaten... when we were asked how everything was we got fake service. Told the truth and there was nothing else said by the employee. I eat here frequently and the food is decent. I usually go for breakfast, salads, or the turkey club (better burgers elsewhere). Anyway the owners are nice chaps and for the most part the wait staff is ok. Great wifi too (I watch movies, no problem). On occasion you will have to flag down the waitress though, that's kind of annoying. read more

Giving this place 2 stars is being VERY generous, especially after my experience tonight. I've been coming to Lucky Grill since 2008 & it has completely changed over the years. For example, today I walked in at 6:00pm. I was not greeted until 6:15pm when I placed my order. The waitress was not apologetic at all. Not only that, but she was attending to other people who sat down after me. Really?! I received my food at 6:42pm. It should not take 27 minutes to make pancakes. The service over the years has really gone down. I know about 2-3 waitresses that are decent or above average & the rest I don't care for. Not only has service gone down, but the quality of food has as well, especially with little things. Their ranch dressing is watered down & has a sweet taste to it. There are some dishes that ranch would go great with, but I don't order it because Lucky Grill's ranch dressing sucks. The syrup is another thing that has been watered down. Syrup should not pour out of the container. The one thing that probably bothers me the most out of everything is their bread! Bread should not feel as hard as a rock! Stop microwaving it, or whatever it is that you're doing to heat it up, over & over again! I swear someone could chip a tooth on it. Plus, it tastes like crap. I don't mind paying more for my food, as long as it tastes good. When you go cutting corners & then charging people more, we have a problem. read more

The food is usually good. Unfortunately, the service has been very poor over the last year or so. If you go for breakfast, before 2pm, the service is fairly good, but after 2pm the waitresses are usually on the phone and handling their personal business. When they take your order, I don't know if they write it down incorrectly or try to memorize it and repeat to the cook, but lately of the three times I've been there, three times, they've incorrectly done my order so that's enough for me. read more

My husband is from Liverpool, England and one of the things he misses most is their authentic full english breakfast ( or brekky). Food is OK. However their staff needs to pay more attention when they get the food together for deliver. I ordered a meal that comes with a dessert, for which i ordered a rice pudding. This place is great I love the food and the people are very nice and they serve you quickly however the menus are very gross and disgusting their sticky but I don't really care. The menus don't matter to me as long as I have the food and that is what I got it's very good food! However some of the people they're not the servers and employees but the people who eat at the restaurant are rude or disgusting. They don't care about the other people around them and will do very gross things. The first time that I ever went to this restaurant the people that were sitting next to me my mom and my sister were having a party at one of the big tables. It was OK with us at first until one of the people there that either drunk or sick. They started coughing and saying they didn't feel well. I thought that this was OK at first until one of the guys started hacking and puked all over his food! This grossed me out especially the fact that instead of going home with somebody else at the party or calling a server over he's continued to eat his food. However I love the food here and I think it's a very nice restaurant I hope you enjoyed the story that I had and also I have to say that the people behind us were being very rude if you have children please check what you said because there may be some people that will curse the person behind us was wacko! He was either drunk or sick in the head. He cursed a lot and started hitting on one of the waitresses. The worst thing is that his wife was right there next to him also the waitress he was hitting on was about 15 or 16 and he was about 75! First time ordering food from Lucky Grill and it definitely don't disappoint! I ordered the ham & cheese croissant that came with a side (I chose French fries) and a side of cream of potato soup. Everything was still hot as if I ordered at the actual restaurant. I ordered thru Grubhub and said my food would be here within an hour to hour and a half as was here in 45 minutes. Live in the area and have been going to Lucky Grill for many, many years. Grew fond of the place as the waitresses would pay special attention to my nephew when he was only about 6 (about to turn 18 next month!). It is great for breakfast and lunch (watch out for the after church crowd on Sundays!). Portions are huge (that includes carry-out!). The breakfast skillets are just but a sweet taste of euphoria. I have sampled all of these works of culinary arts. The Lucky Grill Skillet holds a place within my heart. The first time I had consumed this masterpiece, it felt like I was feasting upon the souls of leprechauns. The Italian Skillet brings me back to my boyhood days on the La Lecciona in Italy. Despite it's cartoonish name the Popeye Skillet is delight fully filled with spinach, tomato and feta cheese. The vapor forming it's scent as it goes from grill to my plate, reminds me of time as a naked Pale wrestler covered in oil. Such good memories. The entire menu is such a treat! Their Chili with Works has just enough bite to keep you on your toes. Combine this with an order of those fluffy french toast that is to die for and you have the perfect meal after a night of dancing and drinking. This is so good after too many Égalité! I love the Roast Beef and American Cheese Club Sandwich. I always get it on rye, because how can you eat beef but on rye? The beef is so succulent and juicy. i've been going to lucky since it debut in the 90's. love the place and the people who work there especially the watiresses are always friendly and they do a great job. however, the food lately has been sub par. the hash browns tasted old. like it's been frozen forever and i can taste the freezer burn. i ordered grits one time and it was poorly made. don't offer grits if you can't make it right. it should be creamy and fresh tasting, not lumpy and old. i am now shopping for a new favorite breakfast place. a's on irving and narragensett is on the top of my list right now. lucky's will have to improve their food quality before i come back. read more

Have been here numerous times. Went last night, about 7:30, for a quick bite. It was the absolute worst ever. The back half was already blocked off for cleaning so the bathrooms were not accessible. My grilled cheese had one skimpy piece of cheese which left me with more bread than anything else. But what bothered me the most was the waitress and her potty mouth. Using the "F" and "Sh" word is unacceptable in a restaurant environment. We were not alone, there were several other customers as well. They must have been in a hurry to get out of there. We were not even finished eating when a man starting mopping the floor with a strong mixture of bleach. So there you are, sitting and trying to eat a subpar meal and inhaling bleach. Almost threw up all over the floor. Didn't even finish the other half of my sandwich. I always liked The Lucky Grill in the past, but after this experience I will never return. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service. I have ordered from here several times with no problems. 2 weeks ago I waited 1 hour and 35 minutes for a delivery order. When first calling, they informed me that other customers were calling wondering where their orders were as well. They said they could not get in touch with the delivery driver and was not sure when our order would arrive. When the food finally arrived 1 hour and 35 minutes later, it was soggy and not appetizing whatsoever. I ordered two meals for my girlfriend and myself. Since I ordered with Grubhub they said they could not refund my order. The restaurant took my name and said the owner promised me a free order for next time. I decided to place an order for us 9 days later, and the employee I spoke with could not find any evidence of the previous mishap. The owner finally told the employee to compensate me only with an order for one person. They would'nt give me an order for two. I tried explaining how I was promised by the owner a free order for two when the employee simply said 'sorry' and hung up on me. Outrageous!!! I was treated very rudely. I am completely disatisfied with this restaurant and encourage everyone reading to take your business elsewhere. read more

i grew up in this neighborhood and always wondered about lucky grill and finally i gave them a chance to see how they were so i took my family and we headed to lucky grill for dinner and i must say it was a nice place the staff was on the ball our waitress was very pleasing now to start they give u bread at your table pass up the bread don't eat the bread or u will be disappointed it does not have a very fresh taste to it but the food there is great i had a new york strip and it was medium rare to perfection served w/mash potatoes and vegtables and soup it was great my nephew had the turkey club platter and he loved it my son had the hamburger platter and it was done right my daughter had spaghetti from the kids menu and she loved it to we were all very pleased with our experience and we will be returning it's nice to have a place where u can sit down w/ the family and it doesn't have too be a fast food joint and the prices are with in range i think for all we ordered it was only 37.00 and some change drinks included in the price it was worth it and like i said as long as u avoid the bread basket you'll be fine and yes you will return!!!!!!!! read more
