I pulled up at 5:32 PM -- and the doors were already chained and locked. To make it even crazier, the sign on the door originally said 6:00 PM, but the 6:00 had been crossed out and changed to 5:45 PM. Okay... but it was only 5:32! I was STILL 13 minutes early according to the time THEY wrote on their own door! That's horrible customer service. If you tell a customer on the phone that you close at 6:00, they should reasonably expect to be able to walk through the door before 6:00 -- and certainly before 5:45. Here's where the story gets interesting. I called COLO Market & Oyster Bar Downtown at North Market instead, and the difference was night and day from the moment they answered the phone. The tone was welcoming, they clearly told me their hours, and when we arrived they actually seemed happy to see us and happy to have our business. And it got better: they had 30% off, seasoned our oysters for us, packaged everything beautifully on ice, and sent us on our way feeling like valued customers. What started as a frustrating experience at Frank's turned into finding a seafood market that I'll gladly return to. Sometimes losing a customer isn't about the product -- it's about how you treat people. Frank's, shame on you. Locking your doors before even your handwritten early closing time, after telling a customer something completely different over the phone, is insane. The contrast in service showed me exactly where I'd rather spend my money from now on. COLO gained a customer today. Frank's lost one.

Both were good, but nothing incredibly special or unexpected. One thing we did appreciate was how gluten free accommodating the restaurant is. Finally, we shared the lobster Mac and cheese. This was a huge let down to all of us who tried it- very few lobster pieces dispersed, and the dish was not cheesy at all. It was quite dry, and needed more cheese or bechamel to offset the crunch from the breadcrumbs on top. I love lobster Mac and like to try the dish at various restaurants- this is probably the worst of the ones I've tried in Columbus so far. Overall, we are not in a hurry to return to tucci's.

Shrimp were just a tad overcooked but not much. Potatoes were perfect. We sub +1 tater for the egg. Corn is never good at these places. :) gotta do those fresh not frozen to get it right. The blue crab had good flavor. However, crazy overcooked which made getting meat out damn near impossible. Stringy instead of in chunks and stuck totally to the shell. I mostly gave up. My biggest complaint is they have ZERO typical utensils. No crackers/pickers/hammers/etc. I managed to cut myself trying to get into a snow crab large claw, and the lack of pickers made the blue crab impossible to eat. Regardless, we were seated right away. We were given a spot at a high top inside but adjacent to the open windows for some fresh evening air and a nice cooling breeze. Unfortunately, service throughout the night was a little spotty. The first round of drinks took a while to come out, the app went missing, our server (who seemed slightly less than enthused all night) took the liberty of snagging an extra one for us, and then our entrees came out right at the same time. I started with the sunrise mojito. Being a bit of a rum snob, I am particularly picky when it comes to rum-based drinks and this one did not disappoint. Probably one of the best takes on a mojito I've had in quite a while. I eventually followed that up with the peach bourbon smash, which was also tasty but pretty heavy on the peach and less on the bourbon. To get started on food, we ordered the street corn nachos. Now, I do love street corn, but something about corn on top of nachos on paper doesn't exactly sound like my personal first choice. However, since my coworker was putting the food on his company card, he went that route. Man, what a mistake I made in my assumption. Absolutely amazing. Gooey cheese, excellent flavors, and not too much to fill you up. My coworker got the shrimp capellini, which looked excellent and he agreed it was solid. I opted for the crispy chicken sandwich (a gochujang aioli? Come on). The sandwich was delicious. The chicken was indeed crispy but also quite juicy. The fries were also delicious being slightly soft, slightly crisp, and not too salty. All in all, a couple service hiccups aside, this was a really fantastic place. I've gone during brunch for my most recent visits and can't seem to stay away from the breakfast tacos. I think what makes the tacos stand out is the fried chicken. It's deliciously crisp while still maintaining an excellent moistness. Add that with gravy on top?? 10/10! I find that two tacos is plenty especially considering the side of potatoes. Highly recommend this dish! The true star of this restaurant is the biscuits, whether it's the cheddar & scallion or the cinnabiscuits. I truly don't think I've had a better biscuit in Columbus. They're THAT good. You can't dine here without ordering one of these options. I love the environment and how friendly all my waiters have been. During each visit, a manager has come up to our table and chatted with us about our experience. Very kind people! An incredible establishment all around.
