Went here based on the reviews which made it seem to be an okay place. The food wasn't bad but I was so afraid to eat it because our first course of soup came with a piece of wood in it. It really wasn't that good. A couple buddies and I all got different meals, and all of us couldn't finish our meals cause they just weren't that good. One of us ended up getting sick for a couple days after we ate there. :( I was really hoping for a good experience, but unfortunately that's not what we got. We ordered delivery for the family as we have from them many times before. The teriyaki chicken was burnt which was obvious as soon as I opened the container and my husbands pot stickers were burnt also. When I called to request a refund on the burnt portion of our meal he said he needs to call me back. I waited twenty minutes and had to call him back. He was told by the manager that he would have to come and pick up the entire meal for a refund. We were not complaining however on the other items they were fine. I asked if I could bring in the burnt items and get fresh unburnt items made and he said that they were not burnt but he would have to ask the manger and call back. I never received a call. Okay I have a favorite Asian food restaurant called moys express and it doesnt show up on yelp but I thought I would try somewhere so I looked one up on yelp and it was the lucky house it had good reviews for the most part. When I walked in it smelled of my grandparents old person house. Next the first thing I ordered was egg flour soup it was okay but just to much celery. We ordered two appetizers the spring rolls and the crab puffs. The spring rolls had an Insian amount of Chinese five spice which made them sweet than the crab puffs didn't even have any crab just sweet cream cheese. Our chicken and broccoli was sweet or orange chicken was sweet the fried rice was sweet everything just didnt have a Chinese taste. They shouldn't serve American food on there menu and just focus on the Chinese food. I just was not happy with my choice of places to try new! read more

Last time I'll eat here. The food is average and if I pick and choose, I can get something edible. But the last straw was the bartender. She works during the day from Tues. on til Fri? Sat? Whatever. After many times at this place I now realize she has an attitude. What happened? I'll tell you ... I sat down (at the bar), ordered food, and it came. So far, so good. But what I didn't count on was the extra hot Szechuan Shrimp would cause a problem. I had no beverage but I swallowed a moth full of the shrimp and it caused extreme hotness, basically 'cause it went down the wrong pipe. I coughed it up but at that point,I needed a beverage. I immediately ordered a beer but then ... nothing. I waited for more than 5 min., but still nothing. And there were a total of 3 other folks at the bar. The bartenders was kibitzing with the other 3 but ignoring me. I finally looked at her and nodded... and that got her to move. She finally came over, delivered the beer *and* water, and proceeded to inform me to not shake my head - and walked away before I could reply. And at this point (I'm still here), she asked from afar if I was done but has said or done nothing else. My finished plate still sits infringe of me and it's been over 30 min. since my trial occurred. That's fine, though, but I shall not be repeating. Sorry, but I desire service *and* a kind server. Ordered from Lucky House 2-months ago for delivery. After 45 minutes they called and said we needed to pick it up as they could not deliver because they were short on drivers ($30 order). Decided to give them another shot and ordered delivery again today (2/10/13). Same as before, 55 minutes after ordering they called to say they could not deliver our $30 dinner because they changed their minimum delivery order from $15 to $35, TODAY, no kidding TODAY. You may be thinking we live 100's of miles away, you'd be wrong, Google says we're only 4.7 miles from the restaurant! Told "Sam" to get his act together as they just lost our business and that of our 10+ friends who occasionally order from here. No hard feelings, the food was only a 5 out of 10 anyway. I usually love eating at this place, but when I ordered for delivery I waited an hour before I got a phone call from someone at the restaurant yelling at me. The man started shouting asking me why I wasn't home. I told him that I was. He kept yelling saying that he knocked and I didn't answer. I was home the whole time waiting for him to show up. I asked him what apartment he went to and he gave me the wrong apt#. After he realized it was his fault he stoped yelling but he said he wouldn't deliver my order for another 2 hours. I understand that there may have been a miscommunication about my apartment #, but to yell at me about it then offer to deliver my order two hours later! No thank you! I like their food a lot but unfortunately will not be eating or ordering from them ever again. read more

I can't believe the high reviews on here. This place is just horrible. My first clue should have been that there was only one other couple in there on a Friday night. They didn't have any soda on tap so we had to buy a two liter. The egg rolls tasted freezer burned and like they had cinnamon in them. The lo mein tasted like mouth balls and the BBQ pork tasted like it had been sitting around all day. The beef in the beef and broccoli was mostly gristle. If I could give it negative stars I would. I never write reviews on yelp but I had to do this so no one else would take a chance on this place. read more

Visiting Vancouver for a long weekend and was looking for a decent Chinese restaurant...found Lucky House here on Yelp with excellent previous reviews, so decided to give it a shot. I was greeted and seated by "Sam", who earns a solid 4 stars just for being himself...great kid with a good sense of humor. My son and I ordered hot & sour soup, egg rolls, and orange chicken. The hot & sour soup was much too sweet and had no meat or broth flavor to it...not the worst hot & sour soup I've ever eaten, but pretty close. The egg rolls are deep-fried with some kind of funky batter on them and it did nothing to enhance the flavor of the meat filling. Not awful, but not very good, either. As for the orange chicken, well...their cook needs a lesson on how to make a proper orange sauce for this dish. Tasted like it came straight out of a bottle of off-the-shelf sauce you can buy at Safeway in the "Asian/Oriental Foods" section. I was hoping for something made-to-order...something homemade...something AUTHENTIC. Not even close. We could only choke down half of it before giving up. On an up note, they serve their bottled beers ice-cold and with frosted glasses. Sam is a gracious host, but his personality doesn't make up for the lousy food. read more

We had originally gone to this location because my husband had been to the restaurant that was previously located there and had remembered it being good. At first we weren't sure if we wanted to go in since it had a new name and the parking lot was empty, but thought we are here and why not try. We were greeted by the owner who was very sweet and was willing to accommodate our picky son. The food was fantastic and very fresh. It was very reasonably priced and we had plenty of left overs. I believe it was owners son who arrived while we were there and made sure we were refilled on water and teas. He mentioned the reason it was slow was because it was Tuesday so it was typical. He said that Mondays are their busiest days. I told him that we were having difficulty finding a good chinese restaurant since the ones in our town were disgusting. He mentioned that they deliver to Battle Ground and will go as far as Washougal which shocked me. Wow..they do go way beyond for their customers. We will definitely be returning. Maybe next time we will have them bring it to us...lol... read more
