My wife liked this place so I gave it an extra star. However, I haven't had an interest in Chinese food since eating here. It wasn't bad actually, but I have definitely had better. There was just something about eating the average bland Chinese food here that I realized I just don't really like Chinese food anymore. The people who took our order on the phone were not friendly, and said it would take an hour to deliver. Then they showed up in 15 minutes. I took a little too long to give his pen back and he was especially rude about that. I believe in good customer service to want to return. Trying to support local places, so ordered through DoorDash. Food was horrible Orange chicken was either cooked too long on bad pieces of chicken was like eating leather . Shrimp fried rice was dry , chewy and had a weird taste . Spring rolls were ok so we ate them and ended up throwing the rest away. Went there for a late lunch while waiting for the car dealer around the corner to finish my vehicle. We were immediately greeted happily by the young lady who seated us. There were four of us, we each got a pick and choose order plus an order of pot stickers. Orders came very fast, food was very good. And when my 22 month old daughter started crying because that's her favorite thing to start doing in restaurants, the hostess brought her a little bunny toy to cheer her up! Everything cost $26!! Fabulous food and very affordable prices. I love this place!! I've only dined-in and had take out - have never used delivery because I live fairly close-by and don't mind making the quick drive over. The portions are big and delicious; the staff are super pleasant. This is Vancouver's best kept secret as far as I'm concerned! We stumbled upon Lucky House about 5 years ago and it is still our go to place for chinese food. The food is great, well priced and made quickly. The portions are huge. For about $15.00 I can feed my family of three and have leftovers for the next day. My favorite item is their crab puffs! They are creamy and have a very slight hint of lemon to them. If I remember correctly, when I asked, it is fresh lemon zest. The customer service is great. Sam always remembers us when we come in and is pleasant to speak with. Please do not let the location, surrounding buildings or decor discourage you from visiting Lucky House. read more

This was the first time using this site (Grub Hub) for Chinese delivery and it came with high ratings. When the food arrived we opened the boxes and were horrified at the way the food appeared. But we went ahead and tried some. It was disgusting. The food was old, greasy, cold and tough to chew. We ordered Spring Rolls and got Egg Rolls. Everything tasted like it was left over food. If you want a great gastric distress try this. I am already sick and running to the restroom. Why can't restaurants live up to higher standards? Are there none anymore? read more

I just went there tonight for the first time, and I'm super impressed. The order of crab puffs was stuffed well with filling, and there were 8-10 instead of the usual 5-6. Literally everything we ate was delicious, and we walked out with 3 full boxes of leftovers. Cost for 3 people: $33! There's a lot of places were you can get so-so chinese food for relatively cheap, but this was definitely way above average, and when you factor in the price point it's an exceptional value. Mediocre food. Sadly, my hubby & I rarely eat out, but this was our anniversary, so we wanted to find good Chinese food. This app had some great reviews, so i was hopeful. I ordered a combo #13... lemon chicken was pretty good, the fried rice was good, the pork was very tough and hard to eat. Also had appetizer Spring rolls... horrible. They tasted too sweet, & very over cooked. Husband wouldn't even try one. Hard and very brown. Couldn't finish eating. I also ordered iced Tea, asked for low-cal sweetener but the waiter said they were out. So i added a sm. amount of sugar, then he showed up with a packet he found somewhere! We don't like to be a bother, so didn't say anything. Then i visited the restroom. Holy crud! Probably not dirty, so much as the appearance is like yucky old gas station crud. Very ugly floors, sinks & the toilet is unbearable, so i quickly wee'd & washed hands. The mirror was spotted & sink was gross. I recommend you potty elsewhere! read more

Amazing food, Portions, Prices, Service and Owners. I go at least twice a week for lunch, right down the road from my work.

The food is decent for what we have to choose from in Vancouver, however the delivery service has been awful food always arrive cold and in about 2 hours an hour late. We pulled out Thermometer tonight and just had to call them to let them know that their food arrived in the temperature danger zone and some one will get sick and health department will find out. The scary thing is we called 2 times before it arrived and she said he was on his way unfortunately we live 9 minutes away and he took our order and recalled coming the first time and where we lived. 2 hours is probably how long our food was in the car. Last time for us if you can't appropriately offer delivery service then don't offer it. read more

Customer service is terrible! I called in to place my order for delivery and in the middle of my ordering the guy said he needed to call me back....I waited for a phone call and never got one back. I called back and asked the guy why he didn't call me back. His response "I didn't have time to call you back" really?! Food is good, and service is friendly and fast. The building is a bit run-down, but its hard for lessees to make repairs when the property owner isnt willing to pitch in. Even with the outdated state of things like bathroom pieces the place is clean. When Chan's Express sold to new owners & the quality tanked, we had to find someplace new for Chinese take-out. Food from Lucky House is always good & fresh. When we order to-go we always get a huge variety. Even with 5 people in the house (including 3 teens) none of us has ever said, "Eh, that dish wasn't so good." My personal favorite is the Gen.
