Go for the meat counter - good selection of general cuts & they have whole packer briskets regularly! Service is what you might expect, but I especially like the no more than 3 people in line policy. read more

I've never had a problem here, they have most everything I want (except what is only available at Trader Joe's), and they're generally cheaper than Safeway. It's also pretty nice not to have to bother with a club card. This store isn't fancy but always seems clean and well-stocked. read more

I have had the deli sandwiches about 10x's in the past month and half. Well I am done wasting $5.99 a pop 3x's I have had stale dry bread. This is not acceptable for a "deli" please make sure to improve this! Bye for now going elsewhere. read more

I'm centrally located between 3 grocery stores, but I always go to Luckys because I have previously recieved the best customer service from the butchers, produce guys, the deli, and the management, especially short guy with glasses. This review would be 4 stars on that alone until recently. I love using self-check out unless Tammi is working it. Tammi is horrible, appears bothered, has zero class, yells across the store to ask other clerks for codes. Rude. I was bothered enough to sign up for yelp and write a review about her. Then I realized im centrally located around several grocery stores...I dont ever have to deal with her "trailer park" attitude again. read more

The staff have been very rude and the prices are too high. I have been going there for years and haven't had any problems. It is more expensive but very close by. But now I feel that the staff has been rude too many times. It is the same staff member that is rude, but you are only as strong as your weakest link read more

i come here at least once a week, also cause my bank has a branch in the store, very convenient. i just have to say i was bummed that it was changing from Albertsons to lucky, but ever sense it has the service has been even better. the store is always fully stocked and very clean, and the register people are more helpful... i have had on several occasions a clerk take the products out of my shopping cart and put them on the counter for me.... it was a little weird cause i wasn't used to it, but it was really nice. now every time i go they don't always do that, but i think when they are not busy and over staffed they do. so the store has improved greatly. read more

What a great place to shop! This location makes you feel welcomed and treats you like a person and not a customer. It has the feel and welcoming of a small town store and not just a customer walking off the street. I love going here and not the corporate feel of other grocery stores in the area. read more

I was visiting my family earlier in Livermore and my family mentioned there was a special on your 21-25 size two pound bags shrimp earlier so we went in to buy them. There were 4 of us in the group shopping and we got 4 bags total. We also grabbed a couple of other items that were at great pricing. As we were heading up to the checkstands from the Produce department, we were stopped by an employee in a rude, snotty tone informing us we must purchase at least $15 minimum in grocery to be able to buy the shrimp. Before I could tell her we thought the minimum purchase includes the shrimp, she went on in an even ruder tone saying that it's only 2 bags limit per household and that we have to put some back. We were all so shock at how rude she was and before we could explain that we were actually from four different households, she hurried away. I didn't even catch her name and wished I did. She looked to be in her early to mid 40s and has long brown wavy hair. I don't think she was a cashier as we didn't see her anywhere up in the checkstands. She had on an apron like everyone else did except her shirt was a somewhat gray color and not white like all the other cashiers. My family was so embarrassed and shock and angry at the same time. We put all the shrimp and some items back and ended up only getting one produce item. We've been to this Lucky at least once a week and we have never been treated this way before. All the employees are usually friendly so it really caught us off guard by how rudely we were treated. Furthermore, and it even upsets me to say this but I feel like she just assumed we were all just one household because we were the same race when in fact, we live in Livermore, San Ramon, San Jose, and Milpitas respectively. It is tradition that we come visit my mother in Livermore every Sunday and I feel like she just really ruined our shopping trip and weekend as we left the store embarassed and in a sour mood. We don't think we will be shopping at this Lucky or any other Lucky anymore in the future. read more

The staff here are very friendly and helpfull. I used to shop at Safeway, but the employees seem to have a bad attittude and always seem too busy to be friendly. Good selection, friendly staff, convenient. read more

You can actually see in this store! I love the brightness of the store. I actually stopped going to Safeway because of their dim lights! Horrible and makes it seem dirty. Please.... let me see what I am buying. Safeway seems so dingy and they are always unpacking boxes all over the place when I shop. At Lucky's - the employees are always friendly (but not obnoxious). I am a regular 3-4 times a week, so finding items is not a problem for us. read more

Lubna is awful! She didn't want to accept responsibility for my concern about my sons birthday cake. After trying to understand the process and her continued argumentative manner, I walked away. She had the audacity to wave and "bye bye!" I came to speak to the store manager the next day and he sort of addressed me and sir of brushed me off. The he said he would discount the cake and kind of apologized. He also didn't discount the cake. read more

Alert: Shop with caution - Lucky store #721 on Portola in Livermore CA. Two days ago they charged me $3.99 for one 15 oz. jar of Miracle Whip and the same price for a 30 oz jar of the same product. I went back today and the clerk verified that the pricing was still the same for both sizes. I returned both Miracle Whip jars and replaced them with one 30 oz jar of Best Foods mayo. But it gets better. Just ahead of me at customer service was a gentleman who'd fed $1,024 into Lucky's coin changer. The machine gave him a receipt for only $1K and kept the rest. The evening manager was unable to help. Apparently these machines can't manage more than $1K at a time, but no limit was posted on the coin changer. Lucky and their 2nd party vendors should be doing better. read more

I have frequented this store for 5 years now, but two times in a row I have purchased spoiled meat from the sale isle. Giving 1/4 STAR, that's being nice!!! Horrible customer service here!!! Never coming back! Was checking out buying a lot of groceries for company on Friday night Margarita (who is a sweetheart) was ringing me up, a lady who is about 6 feet tall mid to long hair with glasses who is Margaritas coworker next to her line at that time turned around towards me stating: "didn't I just see you yesterday or this morning in here, come on" (she was rolling her eyes while saying this) My response was "I'm not sure don't think so though," she then said "come on aren't you in here enough?" She was rolling her eyes again) My jaw dropped, was in shock, what type of employee would ever even think to talk to a customer like that??? It's our money that pay their pay check, are you seriously kidding me? There are a few other situations that i let go, like it's run down outdated plus Safeway has a lot more options when purchasing groceries, on and on! Downtown Safeway it is!!! read more

The seafood is wonderful with delightful people who are well trained and ready to help. The dairy department does not have a clue about there imported cheese and will not look at you to help. The check out stands are becoming very personal with me and too much in my business of why I purchase so much BEER. It has been several trips for me to realize and feel like this alone would stop me from coming into the store at all just to feel so bad when I leave. I live in the wine country and entertain many guest, but some prefer beer. I do not need to be told when and how much I should serve. read more

I really like this store. My family and I use this for our primary grocery store. Sparkling clean and they have everything under the roof here. The prices aren't always the cheapest but I love how bright and clean it is and it makes for a wonderful shopping experience. Staff is very nice too. I was on hold for pharmacy at 7:39pm a middle eastern lady put me on hold as I was trying to give my policy number for medication my wife NEEDS the middle eastern lady returned on the nine at 8:15pm and said sorry we're closed I explained she put me on hold. She said were closed call back tomorrow I advised this is medication my wife must have.I asked her her name she laughed and hung up. I called back and talked to manager in charge "Lisa" said let me try call then she came back on the line and stated there not answering her either. Lisa was ok to talk to and apologized. As a medical professional the Pharmacy here is a joke I believe they have a responsibility to assist the people that are paying there wages I know there getting overtime. I grocery shop at various stores and not much of bargain hunter; however, this is last time I visit Lucky on Portola. I decided to do self check out as only ONE register open. No bags with handles! Wtf?! 80 year old grandma supposed to use to carry groceries in?! I'm willing to pay another $1 for reusable bags yet they don't have those either. This is not communist times when items are not available. In meanwhile cuatomer service gal just chatting it up about bullshit with another customer. No one hired you to socialize instead of working. Fine i will use handleless bag. It's asking for membership house number, which I don't have. I ask same gal about signing up for account, her response was "you don't need it. It's just for points". That's great to know.... maybe you guys don't need another customer. Sometimes people who can afford groceries are the most humble ones. Never again. read more
