I love the ambiance here it's cute and refreshing ! It's delicious as well however the food did take awhile to arrive and a couple of things were forgotten but the service was amazing as well as the food! 10/10 for the cat wall! Parking is meh tho....

Excellent food! Cool vibe, mostly bar seating but some booths available. Service was not great, our drinks came much later than our food, and our food even took quite a while to come. No complaints about the food though, the hand roll experience was excellent and all the fish was fresh and delicious!

WHEW this was disappointing. I had been wanting to check out Level 8 and specifically Lucky Mizu for some time. After planning a time that worked w my party, we made a reservation a few weeks in advance and eagerly awaited the night. Parking in this part of DTLA at night, especially on a Saturday night, is an exercise in patience. You will almost certainly not find street parking, free or metered, and will have to rely on DTLA's notorious price gouging outdoor parking lots. When we visited, there was a Kings game playing, the holiday ice rink, and another outdoor event going on so our parking fee was $30. The experience started to sour almost entirely upon arriving. We were blocked from entering the building to access Level 8 before we mentioned that we had a reservation at which point we were directed to the elevator. At Level 8; there was no hostess at the host stand for Lucky Mizu so we just walked into the restaurant looking for a staff member to speak to about where to sit. This resulted in a member of the staff rushing out, clearly annoyed with us, and walking us back to the host stand. We mentioned our reservation and her attitude was so strong and frankly strange that we were confused what we had done to even remotely warrant this?? We were sat at the sushi bar which is the only place you are able to reserve online in advance but Mizu is known for their picturesque butterfly booths so this was confusing as well. Service was quick but cold and honestly the entire vibe of this restaurant felt so off we ended up leaving Mizu in under 45 mins ,,, Given the strange attitudes, cramped atmosphere, and pricy menu, I won't be returning. It is unfortunate that we liked our meal but I don't think it is good enough to make up for all this. Salmon hand roll 4.5/5, surprisingly melted in my mouth but portion size smaller than usual for hand roll, more of an appetizer, slightly too salty Bluefin tuna hand roll 4/5 Lucky Mizu roll 3.5/5, interestingly tangy but too much eel sauce and way too pricy for what is 5 pieces of a roll

Overall the taste was ok. We did the all you can eat and the options felt very limited. I was looking for the different experience...... I had seen a video where the nori was given separately so it would be crispy and warm. That was not the case. Even though the service was ok. It felt unhappy. Not that best experience for me.

Cool, chic, and contemporary shabu shabu place in DTLA. Soooo incredibly beautiful inside with a very romantic ambiance. Semi private tables available for parties of 4-5, but what was unique about this place was that they had bar seating with individual hot plates to give you a more personalized shabu shabu experience. I've never had shabu shabu at the bar. Love this concept. So just as the other places, you pick your broth and then your choice of protein. Broth: bone broth (the most famous), tom yum, mushroom, and dashi (forgot what the latter was). Protein: prime ribeye, kurabota pork, A5 Kobe, A5 Miyazaki, A5 Kagoshima, premium seafood (seasonal options that rotate-was hoping for the shellfish option but was a little late in the season for it I suppose), tofu, or extra seasonal vegetables. All orders come with seasonal vegetables, noodles, and bowl of white rice. You also get four sauces (soy sauce, peanut, ponzu, teriyaki). Once you have your order the rest is self explanatory. I got the bone broth and decided to go with the premium seafood (pacific snapper and king salmon). The seafood was good but harder to eat because it often broke into pieces and settled at the bottom. Nevertheless less was good. However, the next time I'm going for my usual A5. Also ordered a drink that came in a cute kitty cup. It was very good but can't remember the name of the drin Had so much fun sitting bar top just cooking away and enjoying the night out.

The worst sushi experience ever! My friend and I waited 20 min for 3 sushi hand rolls/person! We could only order 3 sushi rolls each time. The service is slow and no one checks on us and we had to wave them down . $38 plus $27 parking...unheard of...the decor is nice but the red light ruined the vibe of our photos. The sushi quality is mediocre...complained to the manager and she said she'd extend our time it we've been waiting for 45 min and no one came to take our order...the manager came back to help us and made up for it though at the end...

I had the BEST dining experience at this chic sushi spot inside the Moxy Downtown Los Angeles in DTLA. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is immaculate -- super modern, trendy, and aesthetic without feeling pretentious. Think sleek design, moody lighting, and the perfect backdrop for a date night or fun group dinner. We were seated and served promptly which is always a plus- especially for a busy place like this. Let's talk drinks first -- the cocktails were next level. Beautifully crafted, strong (in a good way), and super creative. They also offer all-you-can-drink sake and Sapporo, which honestly sets the tone for an amazing night. Such a fun touch. Now the FOOD. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The seafood quality is top-tier -- you can tell they don't cut corners. The nigiri and sashimi were buttery, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The standout? The Hokkaido scallops paired with kiwi. I know it sounds unexpected, but the sweetness of the scallop with the bright acidity of kiwi was absolute perfection. The rolls were just as impressive. The Spicy Tuna Lemon Roll had the perfect citrus kick, and the Lucky Mizu Roll was truly to die for -- balanced, flavorful, and satisfying without feeling heavy. They also offer shabu shabu AND AYCE sushi rolls, which makes this place such a gem whether you're going all-out indulgent or just craving quality bites. Between the vibe, the drinks, and the insanely fresh fish, this spot is easily one of my new DTLA favorites. I'll definitely be back -- probably sooner than I should be.

Came for happy hour with a few friends and left completely impressed. Located inside the Moxy Downtown Los Angeles, it's worth seeking out. We're locals coming from different parts of town and would gladly return. Every dish was beautifully presented and noticeably fresh. The hand rolls were generously filled and assembled to order, with crisp nori and high-quality fish that tasted clean and balanced. The Zensai was just as thoughtful, delicious, and visually striking. We tried two of the house sakes, both smooth, bright, and perfectly paired with the food, which elevated the whole experience. Service matched the quality of the meal: attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Afterward, we explored the Level 8 venues, which turned the evening into more than just dinner. Each space had its own personality and design, making it easy to continue the night. Excellent food, drinks, and atmosphere. Already planning our next visit. Highly recommend.

So much fun!! And so perfect for date night! Great food, great drinks, and all the vibes we needed to start the night right! Don't sleep on the Hamachi and tuna tostadas! They are bite size delights with so much freshness and flavor! (Still thinking about them and going back for sure!) The drinks were so refreshing and a perfect pairing! (Can't go wrong with the cucumber cocktail) And the rolls were so so delicious! Perfect combo of spicy, melting in your mouth, and citrus. (Please order the spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail specialty rolls!) Loved the dim and colorful lighting. The ambiance was everything and got even better with the live dancing performance and DJ! This is your sign to make a reservation!!

Stayed at AC hotel for our anniversary and had planned to try every restaurant this hotel has and lucky mizu was one of them. This place is so beautiful! Really really beautiful! Also the choice of music that they were playing? The best!!!! We tried the ayce and we ordered more food that are not included on the ayce menu, we also ordered some alcoholic beverages but we did not do the all you can drink since we don't really drink. There is not a one thing that we ordered that was not good! All of them were so delicious, my favorite was the salmon crunch and the unagi with caviar! I tried almost everything unfortunately I am very bad with remembering all the names! We had truffle fries, karaage chicken, and a lot more! All of them did not disappoint! They were really good. The highlight of our visit? The staff! They were all very nice to us, most especially our host Danny, and also to mention Patrick. All the concern, questions, and everything we need, they delivered!!! Danny also gave us complimentary champagne and sake shots on the house since we were there for our 3rd year anniversary. Danny was so jolly, very entertaining, very warm with us, also very knowledgeable with every food that they have on the menu! Lucky mizu for sure did such an amazing job having people like them on their team! After leaving the restaurant we tried to go back few hours later to have some more non alcoholic beverages, unfortunately the wait was way too long, it was a Saturday and they do get packed!!! But hey that's okay! They deserve that kind of crowd! We just ended up going to 34th floor which was AC bar and bistro for some dessert. recommend this place! And ofc we will be coming back!!!

It was a beautiful day. the sun was shining my mood is lifted and i couldn't think of anything that could make my day better. Coming to lucky Mizu made today, a beautiful day, the best. Coming here is an experience, it is a passage. From the service to the food everything was delivered with prestige, passion, and with love. true artistry is created in the kitchen. Not only is the truest form of devotion is literally served on a platter. If you come here with expectations expect that they will be met. If you wanna hear about the service, let me know because a book will be wrote. I will highlight the servers who had not only made the experience even better but dare i say... created the experience. Danny, Steven, Frank, Aliyah, and Maria are responsible for providing a good time. I highly recommend coming here and if you are blessed with the service that these servers/ bartenders will bestow know your night will be enhanced. Sheryll (who is the manager) you know what you're doing and you are doing a damn good job.

The ambiance was fantastic--beautiful restaurant with great food presentation. We visited last night (Thursday) around 8:30 PM, and there was only one server. Unfortunately, he was overwhelmed, which made service quite slow, and we had to wait a long time to place our order. I tried the Yellowtail Sashimi, which was the highlight of our meal. I was looking forward to the Truffle Roll, but they no longer offer it, which was disappointing. As for the other two sushi rolls we ordered, they were underwhelming--I'd rate them a 5/10. One had lemon on top but was drenched in sauce, which I didn't enjoy, and the Yellowtail Sushi was just okay. I expected more, and I really wish they still had the Truffle Roll! :'(

Sushi . Good food TERRIBLE service

One of the biggest reasons we come here is that kids 10 and under are half price, and everyone can make their own bowl just the way they like it. It's perfect since we all have different tastes. We've been to other shabu-shabu restaurants with bigger selections, but my kids actually prefer the vegetables and side options here. Everything feels fresh, and they always find their favorites. Another thing we really appreciate is that the fried dumplings and sesame bread are made fresh to order in the kitchen, so they're always served hot and crispy. Many other restaurants leave these items sitting out on the buffet, but here they're freshly prepared, which makes a big difference. The restaurant is also spacious, making it a great place for multiple families or larger groups. We never feel cramped, even when dining with friends and kids. After a beach day or coming home from a trip, this is our go-to spot for a warm, comforting meal. There's just something about a hot pot that hits the spot, and this place never disappoints. Fresh ingredients, thoughtful details, and a family-friendly atmosphere keep us coming back every time.

We chose two broths, the Organic Beef Bone and Sukiyaki. The beef bone broth was rich and savory without overpowering the meat, while the Sukiyaki had a slightly sweeter, bolder flavor from the soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and onion. For the meats, we tried the Wagyu Brisket, Wagyu Chuck Roll, Wagyu Short Plate, and Prime Beef Belly. The Wagyu Short Plate was my favorite because of its marbling, buttery texture, and rich flavor.
