I got the temaki five set and CUT roll. The menu and rolls are definitely very creative. Service was just okay, but rolls did come out pretty fast. The space is small tiny and next to a bar, music is pretty loud. Pretty nice that they have wifi!

First off, 10/10 for music selection. Love a casual spot bumping 2000s R&B! This little spot is in the front entrance of a bar so you have to show ID to get in. I got the 5 handroll combo. I think I would stick with the 4 handroll combo next time, as the crab handroll didn't do much for me. Or I would go up to the Temaki 5 because that looks like it has the best fish options. These are really good sized handrolls, I was sufficiently full with just 4. They give you lots of protein. The salmon, scallop, and spicy tuna rolls were all great. The blue crab didn't have enough flavor for me, and the one on the middle just didn't hold up to following the scallop roll for me. But i definitely would come back to try other options! The food came out very quickly once I got my order in. They even have a little trash can for each table for the plastic wrap that you take off from the nori. I walked here so I'm not certain what the parking is like, but just know this is downtown LA so there are lots, but street parking may be hard to find.

Cute little hand roll spot next to grand central market. Self serve water and soy sauce were easily accessible, and the restaurant was clean. We were the first to order for the day, and our hand rolls came out in less than 10 minutes. Comparable prices to other hand rolls came spots, but I feel like their portion of fish was more generous than others. The combo of 5 rolls with blue crab was the way to go. My favorites were the blue crab and salmon! The plastic wrap on the nori was easy to remove without breaking the seaweed, and kept each roll from getting soggy. They even gave us a cute trash can to organize the wrapper trash. I would come back and treat myself with this meal for a solid work lunch.

These are the best hand rolls in LA, they are so unique, the fish is extremely fresh, and they do not skimp out on the protein. My favorites were the chopped salmon, uni, and the cut roll. I also recommend giving the tostadas a try, the sashimi slices on there are massive and it is super fresh. The service here is so friendly and nice. I recommend parking at the Grand Central market, it is just right next-door.

I love me a good handroll bar and Temaki Society beyond met my expectations. This little eatery is located right next to a bar (The Grayson) and is open during select periods of the day, so make sure you double-check their hours before venturing over. There's inside and outside seating, including some bar counter seats, but it's a small space and can get packed during peak hours. I happened in during lunch and had no trouble finding a spot, though plenty of people order for takeout, as well. They pack the nori/seaweed separate from the rice and fish, which keeps the seaweed fresh and crispy until you're ready to enjoy. And such generous portions of fish! YUM. The price for a 5-roll set (scallop, blue crab, chopped yellowtail, chopped salmon and spicy tuna) came out to ~$30, which isn't bad at all. Some people may be able to share a 5-roll set, but I had it all to myself and I regret n o t h i n g. Easy to pay via card or tap to pay. They give you a little trashcan to stash your plastic wraps, which I thought was so cute. I didn't know where to put everything once I was done, so I dropped it off at the front and they didn't seem to mind. The staff members were pleasant, efficient and personable. You can find way more than handrolls here, which was a surprise to me. I took pictures of the menu to help others who may want to explore options other than handrolls (though I definitely recommend the handrolls). Parking can be rough. I circled around for street parking to no avail, and then resorted to Grand Central Market's horribly tight garage. $5.50 for the first hour, not a far walk at all to Temaki Society. May this business live long and prosper in DTLA - I will be back soon!

Fantastic handrolls in busy dtla. Walked to the restaurant for a work lunch. Ordered at the counter - there's a couple different combos you can choose from. Went with the regular 5 roll combo. There weren't many seats inside, so sat at the outside patio. The handrolls were pretty legit - i def appreciated that the nori was shielded off by some plastic - keeps the integrity of the seaweed's crispiness intact. Was very filling overall - def would recommend!

My new favorite hand roll bar. My friend and I both ordered the 5 hand rolls for $35, and it was absolutely worth it. The yellowtail ended up being our favorite bite -- I really appreciated that it was a generous, clean slice of fish rather than finely chopped or mashed like you get at so many places. Each roll had its own personality, and the seasonings were thoughtful and well-balanced without overpowering the fish. Everything tasted intentional. I'll definitely be making this a go-to every time I'm in DTLA.

We got the 5 hand roll and Golden Uni & CUT (Caviar, Uni, Tuna). The rolls are all so delicious and they have their own flavor profile going. The seaweed is crispy and crunches with each bite. I really really enjoyed my food during my visit here. The only part that I was sad about was the difficulties of parking, but I'm going to have wear my big adult pants and suck it up because the hand rolls are worth it!

The food quality , ambiance and service: The spot is small so it's not the best for larger groups. It's located in the same building as the bar but when you get inside it's right before you enter the bar.

absolutely phenomenal! I love how this handroll place stands out with its bold flavored assortment of offerings crafted with different mix in ingredients from serrano, cilantro, pickled wasabi, vietnamese pickled carrots, to aioli crunch garlic and more. I tried the chili yellowtail, tuna taku, and the banh mi. All three were amazing and packed with fresh fish. The rolls are quite sizable and full of flavor too. The presentation is beautiful and they certainly don't skimp on quality ingredients. Every bite is full of flavor and will have you wanting another bite. Will def be coming back to try more especially the uni roll!

WOW - so impressed by all the handrolls at Temaki Society. They have kazunori running for their money. They are extremely generous with the fish (thank you) and love the seaweed clear wrapper to keep each seaweed fresh and crispy as you make your way to each handroll. I highly recommend the Temaki 5 if you're unsure of what to get - almost every single one in this option slaps. I may even suggest to finish off with a CUT handroll if you're feeling fancy. PARKING: they are a few doors down from grand central market. If you can't find street parking, I would just park at the GCM parking structure. It's about $5 per hour. Something to note- the parking structure is extremely narrow and tight.

    Laura Z.

This place is so good. The location is small. 3 small tables and about 4 -5 spots for bar style seating. Parking is all paid parking in different lots. Their menu is simple and to the point. We tried their Temaki 5 roll combo and added a blue crab roll on the side. I can't say I had a favorite because they were all delicious in their own way. The rolls are loaded with fish so be careful when taking the wrapper off and when you take your first bite. We also tried the tuna tostada. Which also came loaded with fish. It was delicious The yellowtail sashimi was also fresh and delicious. The pieces of yellowtail were thick but still very tender.

I can't eat wasabi and I see that a lot of the handrolls have pickled wasabi in it. Is it possible to order them without the pickle wasabi or is it mixed in?

Of course! You can absolutely order the hand rolls without the pickled wasabi. Just let us know when you order

Can we order to-go since not all in the same party are over 21years old?

Yes, you can order to-go if not everyone is over 21. I just took my order over to the Grand Central market to eat after getting a drink there.
