First, they are paid hourly and really know how to drag out the time. Slowly moving things and often texting on their phones. What should have very easily been a 2 hour move, was extended to 3 hours. Second, they agreed to remove junk and a couch. Although, "something came up" where their junk removal guy had to be somewhere else and, so they apparently no longer had the time or space to remove the couch they initially agreed to move. We were told they would stop by later to pick up the couch. Although they conveniently did not tell us that by coming back later we would be charged even more then quoted to pick up the couch. (A separate $99 minimum charge) Why are we being charged extra if it's the company's fault that the junk pickup had to be rescheduled? We made it clear, multiple times, what junk needed to be picked up. Lastly, they broke our furniture and TAPED IT back together, but failed to mention they broke it. Instead of telling us, they hid it in the back of the pile of things and face down where we would not be able to see it. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. Lastly, you can expect surprise fees and charges once your move is completed. The estimate was completely inaccurate. Despite us being incredibly descriptive on what needed to be moved and junked, the total ended up being $200 more than what we were quoted and that's not even including the "$99 minimum" charge they added due to having to come back to get the couch. (Which we ultimately declined). Honestly, the service we received today was astonishing given all the "positive" reviews you'll find for this company and location. Take this review for what it's worth, but under no circumstances will I recommend College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving. I'm attaching pictures of the T.V. stand they snapped- it can no longer support weight on top of the table. You can see the tape job they did and how it snapped. Additionally, I've added pictures of the moving blanket they forgot as they hastily left- so you can see that the tape used to tape the broken table is theirs.

On moving day, I emailed additional instructions because I would be unavailable by phone. I provided my partner's contact information and specifically requested that all garage items be packed and moved. Daniel Rios confirmed that everything was received and that the movers would contact my partner before leaving the house. Around 11 a.m., my move-out cleaning crew informed me that a substantial amount of property was still in the house. My partner had not received the load-up call, and I had not received any updates from Evolution. After I contacted the company, I was told only a few open boxes had been left behind. When my partner arrived at the new apartment later that afternoon, the garage contents were missing and fewer items had been delivered than expected. The crew stated they had not been instructed to move anything else. When I contacted Evolution again, I was told there had been a misunderstanding. I was then offered a separate two-person crew to complete the move, but only as a new move with additional charges. When I arrived at the apartment that evening, I discovered that the dining room, kitchen boxes, and entire garage had never been moved. My friends and I ended up completing the move ourselves. It took three days and six truckloads. Afterward, I found that beds had been placed in the wrong rooms and not assembled, furniture had been left partially disassembled, room-labeled boxes had been piled in the kitchen, furniture had been scratched, and the hardware for my son's bed was missing. Justin Rodriguez later located the missing screws in the back of the truck, though some were badly bent. I emailed Daniel seeking a response and he replied with a completely ai-generated email blaming me for the misunderstanding. To Justin's credit, he came to my apartment on his day off to help move furniture into the correct rooms and assemble it. Throughout this entire process, he was the only person who consistently communicated with me and attempted to help resolve the situation. What ultimately disappointed me most was the lack of accountability. I repeatedly had to initiate communication myself, and after the move I called the owner every day for a week and left a voicemail seeking a resolution. My calls were never returned. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Evolution Moving.
