My wife and I were looking for a good Chinese food place in our area, since most of the places are take out, or what we call, "bad, bad food." The closest good place is 10 miles away in Naperville, so we used Yelp to search and found this place was only 5 minutes away. We didn't have big expectations when we walked into the place, as there were only three other customers eating, but the place filled up while we were there. There's not a lot of ambiance in this place, but the staff is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The menu has your typical variety of items. What was nice was that each entree was available in large and small sizes, and basically all the same prices: $5.95 for a small and $9.50 for a large. We started out by ordering the appetizer tray for two. It was $9.95. It had two egg rolls, crisp and tasty with a great filling, two shrimp which were huge, two crab rangoon that beat most other places because of the amount of crab in there, rather than just all cream cheese, and two chicken and two beef sticks, which had a house made sweet sauce. All were excellent. I had a cup of wonton soup. Very smokey flavor, filled with bok choy, celery, strips of roast pork, green onions, and cabbage. The wontons were quite soft, with a nice amount of meat stuffing. Not the best I have ever had, but darn close. For our entrees, I had a small order of Roast Pork Fried Rice and a small Beef and Black Bean Sauce. The rice was nice, as it was more dry than greasy, stocked full of pork, bean spouts, egg, small chunks of carrot. The beef was melt in your mouth, and the black bean sauce fresh and the best I have tasted in a long long time. I was very surprised at how much food there was for the "small" orders. My wife had a glass of Chardonnay, and ordered the Walnut Shrimp, which is slightly battered jumbo shrimp in a light white cream sauce served with the freshest broccoli and topped with fresh walnuts. It smelled delicious, and she raved about it. Now, if we'd have ordered the same items from our "Go To" place in Naperville, the bill would have exceeded $75, but this place was a surprisingly excellent gem right in the neighborhood, and the bill was only $42. I have tried several Chinese restaurants in the Aurora area, but until two weeks ago, I had felt that Aurora was really bereft of good Chinese food. Two weeks ago, my daughter and I tried Lucky Panda, and we are the lucky ones! I had the Mongolian beef. It was absolutely fantastic. Good pieces of meat--no tough pieces with an awesome savory sauce. My daughter had the teriyaki chicken, and it was fantastic. I judge a Chinese food place by their fried rice. It was greasy, and seemed old (I know some say fried rice should be greasy, but I disagree). Also, I didn't notice any egg in it which is typically a standard ingredient, so that was disappointing. The beef egg foo young and sweet and sour chicken were good. The egg rolls were just ok. I'd eat there again but definitely wouldn't go out of my way to do so. read more

So glad the old Chan's Gourmet closed and became Lucky Panda. This place is so much better than what Chan's had become. They've done a full remod inside and it looks very nice. I wanted to write a positive review but I can't. I liked their food but one huge mistake overrode everything positive that I could say about them. I went there for lunch today and ordered the garlic beef with no mushrooms. I am deathly allergic to mushrooms. The dish came out with mushrooms on it. I told them to remake it without mushrooms and again said I was allergic to them so don't just take them off. The dish came back too fast but I assumed because they weren't busy they simply made a new dish. That was my mistake. I ate about half of the dish until I stirred up the rice some more and found a mushroom. I then realized I should have gone with my first instinct and refused the returned dish. Had I bit into the mushroom, I wouldn't be here to write this review. This is a huge mistake and could cause the death of a customer simply because they didn't want to remake a $6.00 dish. I was hoping they were going to be a new place to eat in the area but now I can never trust them again. read more

Lucky Panda easily has the best Chinese food in the Aurora/Naperville area. We moved here since 2012 and had yet to find a good Chinese restaurant. Hands down some of the best Chinese food around. Have enjoyed other good Chinese like China Chef and Hong Kong Jockey in Westmont and Mahahini Terrace in Willowbrook. We have been looking for decent Chinese food for two years in this area. Nothing. Until tonight. First time ordering. First, the gal who took our delivery order was incredibly friendly and pleasant, well spoken, and thorough. Second, the order arrives within 15 minutes (we do live close). And third and most importantly, the food was delicious!! Clean. Real chicken BREAST and not peppered with unknown dark meat, the veggies were crisp, sauces were tasty, and and shrimp was good size and great flavor. Our search for delicious, authentic Chinese food has finally come to an end! We have tried every Chinese restaurant in the Yorkville, Montgomery & Oswego area only to be disappointed time & time again. Our true favorite is Chinese Kitchen in Naperville but it's a bit of a cruise so we are so happy to have found Lucky Panda! Their fried rice is perfect light brown color and delicious in taste! Other items we have tried so far and not been at all disappointed in: mushroom egg foo young; pot stickers; Mongolian chicken & chicken chop suey. The staff is very friendly and the inside of the restaurant is decorated very cutely also. read more

We have been ordering from Lucky Panda for a couple of years and always been very happy until last night. It seems as if there may have been a staff change or ownership change. We placed our order online and received a phone call that they were out of pot stickers which were on our order. First, what kind of Chinese restaurant runs out of pot stickers. Secondly, they did not start on anything else on the order until we called back. They were unable to figure out how to credit the pot stickers that had already been charged to my card. While I heard the confusion and waited on the phone I finally told them to just let me get a free order the next time we ate there. Then I was told they would start our order right away and get is out since we had already waited so long. Well, that did not happen either I called back an hour later and was told the driver was just leaving. It took him 20 minutes to get about 10 minutes away. We had ordered sweet and sour chicken which was way over cooked, we did not receive the chicken fried rice we had used a promotion for and of course not pot stickers or credit for it. I am not sure if we will order from them again to receive our credit. It is a shame the food quality and delivery, and service have always been excellent until last night and they failed on all three last night. read more

I had Lucky Panda yesterday 12/7. The general Tso chicken was great. Some places use too much sauce which softens the chicken (soggy). The portion was enough to feed two and the rice was awesome! The rice noodles were great! I'll be back! read more
