Went to guest services to ask a quick question. Was ignored and then treated with derision. Terrible service.

I'm thrilled that this Lucky's remodeled and improved with a ramen, wine, salad & burrito bar. However when I ordered some chicken fingers today, it was so salty that I had to throw it away. It was so salty that it gave me a headache after just eating a few small bites. Even though they have a new concept, which I appreciate, but quality control is still an issue. Read some of the other reviews. You can't compare the quality control of a Whole Foods. I Will not buy their food after this experience. I hope management reads this review, and take the initiative to improve the hot food quality. Very disappointed. read more

So glad they chose our local Lucky location to test the newest "Lucky California" concept! Still amazed at how much larger and open the store seems with high ceilings, wide aisles, and re-designed footprint. Great design and new features--like the walk-in beer cooler full of well-curated craft beer selections, including local brews! The "eatery"' with made to order salad bar, bbq section, ramen bar, and more. And a bar with wine and beer on tap to enjoy in a covered patio area with big TVs. It's not just shopping, it's an experience. You can also choose and label a cut of meat to "dry age" on-site, if you're into that sort of thing. I really hope this model flourishes and becomes the norm. While they increased the number of self check-out lanes(which is a good thing), my only only complaint is that they seem to have reduced the number of staffed cashier lanes, and the times I have been there, only two were staffed. This becomes an inconvenience if you are purchasing alcohol or loose produce. read more

Lucky bakery delivers excellent delicious cakes that are very reasonably priced! I went in the morning and spoke to the bakery manager who had a ton of orders (I could see her making quite a few cakes behind the counter). She was super sweet and friendly and took my order, despite asking her to make a custom cake for that same afternoon. The cake came out super moist and delicious! They have a book of custom cakes to pick from in many sizes. I will definitely return to this bakery for my future cake needs. Hopefully I will give them more advanced notice next time. read more

I really wanted to like this store as it's my nearest grocery store, and they recently went to all that effort to renovate it, and all of the staff has been so friendly. But the quality of produce, the reliability, and the expense all make it so that I won't be shopping here again. The produce here goes bad so quickly, especially the organic produce from their tiny organic case. Things like berries are often moldy when I get them home (artfully obscured in the box) or mold right away. Prices are higher, you can get the same item for a few dollars less at all of the other stores. But my biggest complain is the peanut butter. They have a fresh ground peanut and almond butter station. Great, right? Nope. Because literally everything that could go wrong with this station goes wrong every time. One visit they don't have lids. The next visit they have lids but no containers. The next visit they have lids and containers, but the machine is empty. Then the machine is full, but filled with the honey peanuts (and, hey--putting honey/sugary peanuts in the wrong container can be a HUGE health hazard). I'm sick of having to hunt down someone to help me get containers or get the machine to work. This is a small slice, but it just goes to show a lack of attention to detail and care for the customer. The staff is great whenever I talk with them and I have ZERO complains there. However, this place seems understaffed and sloppy when it comes to how its run. read more

Another reviewer wrote about this problem already. The Men's bathroom has an awful smell and it is there all the time. It is really disgusting. People handling and preparing food are using this facility. I stopped shopping here due to this. Plumbing problems can happen anywhere, but the lack of response is unacceptable. welcome back lucky and good riddance albertsons! YAY! what a huge difference lucky makes. the prices are so much lower and with no need for a club card. the staff is always very friendly and always seem to be everywhere. the produce and meats are incredibly fresh and stocked to the fullest. i'm amazed by the freshness of pretty much everything. they definitely care about the customer and their future success will show this. the best part about this lucky is i can just wake up and roll in looking like crap with my shades and hat pulled low. i just grab what i need and heat to the automatic checkout and ring up my own groceries. it's a really nice thing to have on those days you don't want to deal with anyone. i look forward to spending my years shopping at lucky and it's really good to have a childhood favorite back! read more

I would give this no stars if I could! The new design is so poor you cannot find anything! The meat is in the veggie section? The beer and diary and fruit juices are together. The other cheeses are nowhere to be found but somehow are in the freezer section. The staff themselves cannot help customers find anything! What happened to seafood? read more

This is a very nice Lucky grocery store. Nice and clean...the workers are friendly and nice. I was amazed that it took us a long time to find this place. We were in the area and we were really surprise there were no grocery stores....no fast food. It was basically deserted in the area with commercial or office buildings only. Very interesting. The new store is great compared to the old one. They carry unique items not found at other chain groceries. However their produce section lacks compared to others. Where they really stand out if the price. Their prices are significantly higher than most stores. The convenience is nice but I really can't see being a regular customer with their prices. read more

I was a customer here for years before the remodel. Enjoyed the grocery and the staff, and especially the pharmacy. They were an invaluable aid to help me understand medications and general health issues. They worked in a construction trailer for a year while the remodel was done. Now all the Lucky pharmacies are closing and my friends lose their jobs. I never liked the remodeled store - I call it "warehouse bistro" - but to me it is not a grocery. I never shopped there and only went to the pharmacy; now that it's closed I don't need to go back. BTW this store caters to high-end pricey foods, and too-long overstocked aisles. Often saw customers wandering around looking confused and lost. Not a happy place. read more

We've lived in the Val Vista neighborhood for a long time and enjoyed the customer service at Lucky. Since the newly remodeled store reopened, the customer service has been horrible. Not enough checkers are available to help so most of the time I use self checkout . And if they open up a line, the checkers are rude not helping to bag my items and ignoring me while their friend comes up to talk. It's such a shame because we like the location and the new food area is great. I guess they figure customer service isn't important now. Back to Gene's Fine Foods for better service. read more

It's very surprising to find a pack of expired yogurt, a box of eggs with four broken ones in this newly renovated Lucky. Their service was very good though, staff are all very friendly and helpful when I needed to find something. But they definitely need to get the basics right. read more

We were at a party in Pleasanton last weekend. A wee bit tired of wine and beer, I suggested we make a pitcher of mojitos. So I found myself here. Limes.... check.... mint.... check.... rum.... really good rum.... ummmmm.... you suck. It seemed a bit dated and dirty.... kind of like that dude in the 90s that you wanted only for sex. The only reason I shop at this store is that it's very near my house. Awful produce and meat department. Some of the help is OK, but like another reviewer said, put smile on and say something. It's your job. Oh and don't get me started on the self-checkout. Half the time the monitor person isn't there for if there's an issue (oh, like maybe I'm buying alcohol and have to get it cleared). Ive shopped here for 30 years. Never had a complaint till today. No employees wearing N95 respirator masks and only a few wearing gloves. This means they are open to exposure and spreading the Virus. LUCKY, please make it mandatory for them to adhere to public safety in this time of crisis. I as well have a essential job with a dwindling schedule. With my minimal paycheck right now, the only place I can go spend money is at the grocery store, cause I'm not stupid enough to endanger myself and others at a public eatery. I, of all people, am not really a super market rater... but this Albertson's was so bad it deserved a review. Of all the Albertson's I've been in this one houses the rudest, most uncharismatic customer servers I have ever met. Having worked, once upon a time, in customer service, I know how awful it is, but you could at least pretend that the person going through your line might be the nicest person you've ever met. I know that it's a crappy job, but please, i just ask that you be knowledgeable, and pleasant... if you don't want to carry on a conversation, that's fine, PUT ON AN EFFING SMILE ONCE IN A WHILE!!! And the Starbucks in this place... don't even get me started! They don't listen to the order, and when they serve you your drink wrong, and you ask for a simple correction, they are snappy, and slamming drinks is involved!! Store is very clean and nice and bright!! Lots and lots of room to move around. Fresh produce is always out. If you can't find what you want or don't like what you see, ask the person in that section and they will go get you what you need. Nice selection of meat and friendly. They will cut what you want for you as well. Fresh and seafood has a very nice variety. Sometimes get a great deal here. As for as the deli, depending on who is working back there will depend on how fast they are. Also double check what they are making for you as they have a tendency to make it wrong. I have never seen a line more than 2 deep here!! Easy to get in and get out of! read more

This is the closest grocery store to our house, but we go out of the way to Safeway and Whole Foods due to Lucky's poor customer service, poor produce quality, lack of organic options, and higher prices. We all call this place "Suckies." Trying to get help there by phone is always a huge ordeal. We only come here when as a last resort. Latest experience, we called to check if a produce item was in stock before we drove over. After 5 minutes on hold, the employee (sounded like a manager) told us, "Everyone in produce is on lunch, can you call back in like an hour?" Are you freaking kidding us? They obviously don't check the expiration dates on their foods. Went there on 3 separate occasions recently within the past 3 weeks, brought home expired chili, milk, and canadian bacon. Chili and canadian bacon were close to a YEAR old. Not sure how you managed to keep an expired canned product for over a year past its expiration date. Also not sure how you can be selling expired milk and meat when everyone is panic buying everything. Like you out of stuff to sell so you're just digging through your trash and putting stuff on shelves??? Disgusting. read more

Not the cleanest or nicest store in the world, but it's good enough for running in on my lunch break to buy beer (for after work!) or some stuff to keep in my desk at work so I don't waste money eating out. I've had some prepared food, their big wedge fries are good. I don't get sandwiches, as there are always flies buzzing around the sandwich area. I did get a cake made there, 6.99 for a decorated one layer cake with filling that served 8. Can't beat that! read more

Just use the self checkout if you don't want to deal w/ they typical idiocy at a supermarket. I can come here and grab a cheap and decent sandwich from the deli for $5 or some fruit or something and be outta there pretty quick.
