Delicious food served at Lucky's accompanied with great service! Our server, Sarah was very kind and attentive--filling drinks when needed and making sure we had everything we needed. I very much enjoyed the crab stuffed grouper. The grouper itself was great but the addition of crab and lobster cream sauce was incredible! Although the sides were a bit lackluster flavor wise, it was still good nonetheless. I had potato au gratin, which was big chunks of potatoes instead of the usual thin slices. I think it would've been better as thinly sliced and a different cheese, or more spices in the cheese. Just kind of bland. Same with the mac and cheese. The starter bread is delicious! Fresh and perfectly salted served with unsalted spreadable butter. Everyone seemed to enjoy the steaks. The side salads looked delicious as well. Coming in with a group of 7 during dinner rush I was very surprised to be seated so quickly! They always have great food options here. I would recommend their burger options or stakes. The place is sully pretty busy during peak hours so it can get pretty noisy at times. Great place to eat overall would recommend it to anyone. read more

It is really good and even my picky kids love it. A little crunch but soft and served warm. Yum! The prices are very fair for the quality and amount of food you get. Swinging through another regular stop with some friends. With a typical Steakhouse vibe, this place has a nice selection of Steak, Chicken and Seafood. We had to wait about an hour to be seated as the place was packed on a Saturday night. However it was worth the wait. Our Server was pleasant and quick to take our orders. The food was served hot and fresh and was prepared with quality ingredients. I had the chicken Monterey as well as two other people at the table based on my recommendation. It was very good as usual and we all loved the honey mustard sauce ( this is my go-to even though it's a Steak house). My wife ordered steak and baked potato which when served came with mashed potato's as they had run out of baked. Was not a big issue. In the sizing spectrum of restaurants, there are large chain operations with hundreds of locations, and uniquely local places. A sweet spot somewhere in between is the restaurant that has done so well that it's been expanded into a small group of restaurants, each doing excellent work. I believe that's the way it is with Lucky's restaurants, this steakhouse being one of less than ten locations. Friday night dinner service was very good! When another couple joined and enlarged our party from four to six, the staff acted like it was no big deal to reseat us all at a larger table. The food also was excellent, just what you'd expect at a steakhouse. An assortment of good craft beer, value-priced but tasty wine, fresh salads, well baked potatoes and crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside steak fries. Ordered the fillet with added mushrooms and onions, the onions were sautéed, but the mushrooms were straight from a can. The bread is no longer a true steak house bread but a small loaf of wonder bread slightly stale. Every item is heavily salted and it leads to the question of what the food truly tastes like. The women staff seem to love yoga pants to wear and for some it's not an appropriate sight to see during dining. The decor is seriously dated, the forks are bent and knives are dull. 5 stars because good food at a good price. This is not an over the top crazy fancy steakhouse. I think it has good prices for the food you get. The portions are quite large. I have been here a few times now. The service has been excellent. They do have TV's on so you can watch sports or various programs. Starting off with the bread- I really enjoy it - it tastes like everything bagel but it is a little salty. I really liked the French onion soup but also enjoyed their side salads. The prime rib is my favorite thing to get. I have had the crab stuff salmon, Parmesan crusted grouper, and ribeye. It was all good. They also have many sides to choose from and I have not went wrong with any. I love the amount of different choices they have. This was my first visit here. Recommended by my niece who joined us for lunch. The property is very nice dining room large and very clean. Service was spot on our server was very polite and patient and answer questions as asked. My nephew had a chicken Caesar salad. It was quite large and absolutely loaded with grilled chicken. The dressing was freshly made. And he tucked into it with his whole heart, but was not able to finish it. He said it was delicious. My niece and I determined that we wanted to share the prime rib sandwich. We both love French onion soup as well so we each ordered a bowl. It was one of the most tasty prime rib sandwiches I've ever had. The prime rib itself was so tender-both of us thought it was fantastic. The French onion soup did not disappoint a generous portion 9f beef broth and onions topped with Gruyère cheese and a toasted bread/crouton. It was also delicious. Sadly they were out of the desserts that my nephew wanted, but my niece did order what I would call a slab of carrot cake serving was huge. Definitely enough to share the cake moist With cream cheese frosting, that was just right. This was a great experience and frankly, I haven't had a meal of this high-quality food for the prices. Certainly declining... Luckys used to be one of our family's favorite restaurants years ago - Unfortunately has declined in the last year...months... Tonight we decided to go there again - Fenton location at 7:40pm... to have our favorite dishes... what a disappointment. The steak came in a plate full of oil, and waiter informed that they no longer serve the crab stuffed shrimp...and the crab cakes we ordered for appetizer, the waitress just realized she had forgotten when we were about to finish our dinner. We said we still wanted it, but that we would take it 'to go',since we had already eaten our dinner. Few minutes passed and she brings the crab cake appetizer in a plate...in such an ugly presentation... Oh well... pointless to even say anything at that point, so we asked for boxes. Ordered crab cakes and shrimp today with baked potato. What a disappointing meal for $22. The potato had to be a week old and hard dried up. The crab cakes where nasty freezer burnt. And the 6 tiny shrimp where fried in chicken batter and tasted like chicken . I couldn't even eat the food never go there again. Hate to say that this place has fallen off even more with our last few visits. Steaks have been overcooked, wait time has been longer than expected, and one of our waitresses was uncomfortably personal to me and my dad. This last visit, however, was worse. While we only waited 5 minutes of the expected 20, our server was obviously having a hard time. Brought multiple wrong drinks and had a hard time figuring out who's plate was who's. Our steaks were all kinds of messed up; of our party of four, three were overcooked. The other was undercooked. One even had a tendon through the middle of it that made it near impossible to cut through, chew and eat. My Mac and cheese side was very overcooked and the noodles were falling apart on my fork. We visit Michigan a couple times a year and always make a point of stopping at Lucky's. The wait was long as expected on a Friday evening. They do very well getting people seated. We had a party of five so it took a little longer. Both grandmas were hungry and kept us abreast of our place in line and checking to see which tables were available. Poor hostess did a great job being patient with us. Hubby and son ordered filet's medium. They came out a little over cooked but juicy so still tasted awesome. I ordered Maryland Chicken, Parmesan crusted with a shrimp and crab stuffing on top with lobster cream sauce. Asparagus and button mushrooms. I ordered extra sauce as I always do. Mine was awesome. By the time I eat my side salad (trust me get the croutons) and the bread they bring to the table I'm full. But I still carryon and eat almost half of the two pieces of chicken. Unless you haven't eaten in days expect to take some home. My MIL ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Fettuccine. She loved it. You get a whole lobster tail on top of it. She took a big chunk of hers home too. Only thing to point out is that it would be nice if they removed the tails from the shrimp so you don't have to "fish" around in your pasta dish and remove them yourself. My husband was the only one to order dessert. Of course he got his favorite carrot cake. The one he uses to judge all other carrot cakes by. It is huge. We split it and still took home a big chunk of it. See you next time Lucky's, because we always stop here when in Michigan! Updated review. What a hassle trying to order takeout. The phone just rings and rings and rings and no one would answer! This was on a Monday night at 5 PM. I kept hitting redial for 15 mins because after so many rings, you get disconnected Someone finally answers hurrah.! " Hello I have two orders to place". Luckys host "oh I'm sorry I will have to put you on hold a few minutes". 12 minutes later still on hold, phone disconnects!!!! I immediately called back. Was able to place my two separate orders. The whole ordeal took about 25 -30minutes by the time I kept calling to get someone to answer and being placed on hold and disconnected. Ordered cream spinach as a side. Where is the spinach? It's all cream? (Picture included ) The last few times I have ordered the creamed spinach I've been just getting a bowl of basically cream and a tiny bit of spinach. I'm not sure if this was meant to be a dip, or if Luckys is skipping out on the spinach or if I'm getting the bottom of the barrel, but I literally have been getting a bowl of cream or Alfredo sauce (however they make it) So I would like to know did Luckys change the recipe for the cream spinach or do I have to bring my own spinach to put in the cream ? Lol. The flavor as usual is amazing. I cannot complain about the flavor. But when you get takeout, it's a little hard to ask to please add more spinach to my bowl. lol. I ordered a ribeye steak as I always do, hands-down absolutely the best steak in Livingston County. Even though I know I am in Genesee county lol. Still the best and I won't go anywhere else even with poor customer service. Always cooked to perfection! When I walked in the front door a guy was complaining about no one answering their phones to 4 girls standing at the front greeter podium. They they only have one phone one line that is working. **I would like to see Luckys have an online takeout order service for pick up, and one girl specifically assigned to answering the phone for orders. Whatever they're doing now is not working. I will never stop going to Luckys regardless of how bad their take out service is lol. My girlfriend and I have visited Lucky's a couple of times. Service is generally very good and the food has been good overall. We were there a few days ago and met up with a number of friends to help celebrate my girlfriend's Birthday. As it was the first time I was there, the room was very cold (temp-wise) to the point that we asked if the server could have the temperature adjusted upward. She was fairly sure that it wasn't going to happen and explained that the room was kept cold because as the restaurant begins to get busy the room warms up too much. As result, three of the five of us kept their coats on throughout the dinner. Shortly after we were served, my girlfriend slipped her coat over her shoulders. She ordered the Filet Medallions with mushrooms and mashed potatoes and I ordered the 10 oz Prime Rib with mozzarella and mushrooms served with mashed potatoes. I noticed that my girlfriend wasn't enjoying her food very much and when I questioned her about it she said it was very salty and her salad was soggy from too much dressing. I sampled a piece of the medallion and was surprised at just how salty it was. Not tasty at all. My meal was so smothered in cheese that it blocked the flavor of the prime rib and the mushrooms were also flavorless. I tried peeling the cheese off and eating the steak without the topping but found it tough and flavorless. I pointed out the issues to our server to which she stated she would report it. Neither of us ate more than half the plate. Needless-to-say I expected at least one of our meals to be comped, but when the tab was delivered, no adjustment was found. Although the interior decor is so-so I like Lucky's as a good family restaurant but expect more from an establishment that calls itself a "Steakhouse." None-the-less I left a good tip as the server did what she could to satisfy the situation. My advice to anyone who might visit Lucky's, wear long underwear and order the Cod! read more

(I was passing through and stopped for take out. I live 25 miles away)When I got home I opened bag and my prime rib was missing. I was told by management On take out I need to bring the food back to get the right item replaced and "you have to check your own bags before you leave to make sure it's right", "Just like they do at McDonald's ". Since when does Luckys compare themselves to McDonald's??? They also charged me seven dollars for a little tiny wedge salad (missing the cucumbers) picture attached. It's smaller than my fist. They basically told me too bad so sad. That's what we charge regardless of the size. There was no service recovery. Very poor management and customer service. Zero accountability. My guess is that they have been screwing up orders so much, this is what it has come to. Of course I demanded my tip money back!!!! We tried to make reservations and we told they weren't taking them. When we arrived they asked if we had reservations. We obviously did not so they said the wait would be one and a half-hours. She rolled her eyes but added it (we had five people). She then took the name of the man standing next to me (he had five people) and told him the wait was an hour??? We were seating in about an hour and a half. The poor waiter looked exhausted and really tried his best. The bread was great. Wow! This food taste and quality has really taken a nose dive! We visited for a late lunch and although our server (Chris) was great, the food was terrible. The pecan crusted chicken on my salad seemed to be reheated/refried as it was very greasy and the coating was sticky. Blech!
