So good! We go up for the summer and have eaten at every single place between there and Isleton. Lucy's is by far the best place! The food there is really high quality and is very imaginative. I had a dish called Chicken Georgi which was Gorgonzola cheese sauce ( yum yum yum), penne pasta, mushrooms, walnuts and grapes. Sounds weird, huh? It was AMAZING! The garlic bread has real garlic you can see! Love love love! The bar is pretty lively but not rough. Prices are not cheap but they are reasonable. Plus I discovered a drink called "Malibu Green Monkey" that is my new favorite. Love it!!!! read more

Worst service in Rio Vista! Ordered a kids hamburger meal for $6 which was only half a burger & a handful of fries. McDonalds gives you more for less! Ordered potato skins (full order) for my actual meal & was brought 3 skins, NOT 3 potatoes cut in half cause that would've made 6, for almost $10 I would've liked more food. Waited 20 min for my waitress to bring me the check & when she never came back to check on me I threw some money on the table & left. Fantastic! I was a little judgy of this place, but they proved me wrong. The Calamari is GOOD! I had the Fettuccine Mediterranean( with olive oil & pesto sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, greek olives, feta cheese, red onions & choice of chicken or prawns: I had the prawns). This was excellent & huge! I'm glad we got the small order of Calamari! My cohort got the Primavera Penne( Mushrooms, nice large chunks of carrots, zucchini, tomatoes, onions, & bell peppers in a creamy, red or olive oil sauce and parmesan. She had the red sauce- and you can add chicken for extra$) Very yummy!!!! I was judgy because the town is sleepy, and with my experience in these situations ( no offense), has normally proven to be something less desirable. Not this time! Probably my favorite restaurant in town for Italian. I judge a good Italian restaurant by its Spumoni ice cream. Sounds weird, but if an Italian Restaurant doesn't have The Old World Spumoni (with chocolate) on its dessert menu, it's not worth my time. The entrees are delicious, along with my favorite glass or two of Bogels Essential Red, finished off with a dish of rock hard Old World Spumoni. It's Heaven on Earth. Went in to get some lunch and I had the Lucy's hamburger. It was definitely a tasty burger, I didn't expect to not have a traditional bun but it still worked very well and the fries were nice and hot. The meat was cooked exactly how I asked and the customer service was just fine. Timing was great I barely had to wait and I will be going back again. This is a hidden gem on the Delta. Located near the water this Italian place is one of the best I've ever been to. Their food is made fresh in house. We happened on a night when the the special of the day was Halibut.. served with a lobster sauce drizzle, spaghetti (I added a meatball for a buck), grilled (on a grill) vegetables, fresh baked bread and homemade soup or salad. The portions are huge and very filling. I had the fettucine Mediterranean with grilled chicken and I got so much, I had leftovers. I enjoyed my pasta dish, the homemade bread, and recommend you save room for the Tuxedo cake. It was amazing. I usually try to have only desserts baked by the place where I'm eating, but it was Valentine's Day, I wanted this cake, so I made an exception and was pleased by my decision. The cake was huge (definitely split it with someone) and consisted of chocolate cake, custard, vanilla cake, chocolate ganache, and chocolate sauce. We are thinking of returning just for the cake! **Sigh** Why can't this place be good? I sooo want it to be good but it just never makes the cut. Twice I have been here for breakfast on a weekday (not even a busy weekend) the place has been in major slow mode. I am not talking about just slow...it's painfully slow. The customers (lots of seniors) get so miffed about the slow service it becomes an issue. Then you have to sit and endure a showdown between the slightly mean waitress and the senior citizens who have low blood sugar. Meanwhile, you starve slowly and sip the worst coffee you've ever had. The coffee tastes like old socks. It's terrible. Both times I've been in for breakfast I just want to scurry over to the side of the building where the bar is and drink my breakfast because the wait for food is soooooo long. That said: I have been with a group to Lucy's for dinner and the food was okay, and I don't recall the service being slow. Maybe they have more staff on site at night. ?? Maybe I had a lot of wine that night? Anyway- Rio Vista does not have a lot to offer for breakfast. If you are in town - you may wanna try the Taco Truck on Highway 12 near the bridge over this place. I'm being totally serious. The Taco Truck is the bomb. You will get good food and not have to endure the never ending wait for scrambled eggs. read more

Great food and garlic bread (which you pay separately for), very bad service.We sat there and waited for our bread and salad (and drinks). Had to keep asking them. The salad (extra for caezar, which was nothing special) came and we had to order bread. We were eating bread when the main dish came. Just make sure to order bread first. Thought this was going to be a good place according to Yelp. However; my first impression when I walked through the door was a feeling of bleakness. I was greeted by one of the employees or owner (I don't know which), but she was as rude as a New York cabby. I was greeted with one one word "What?" I was not offered a table. Nor greeted in a professional manner. I can't say anything about the food since I didn't get that far, and I wouldn't eat in a place with such atrocious service. Burgers huge on toasted rolls. These were delicious. Fish and chips only ok, fresh halibut but not a crispy batter. Great steak fries. Bathroom needs a good mop. Some flies got in the restaurant half way through our lunch and we couldnt get rid of them. read more

This was such a great little restaurant to stop off on our way to our camping trip. The food was delish and so many choices. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs with a sausage soup, i had. Blt and a Chardonnay (great wine choices) my son had his fav bacon cheeseburger. The owner was extraordinary! When I went to check on my dog a block away an older man with a cane fell down it was awful enough to where I thought to call 911. When I ran into the restaurant to explain she ran out right away and comforted him bandaged him, 30 minutes later I see him at a table nearby with a piece of cake and a cup of coffee so sweet! read more

Stopped in today around 12:30 to pick up something for lunch. Meatball sandwich was good, with side of battered fries. Food worthy of 3.5 to 4 stars. As soon as I walked in, waitress looked at me without really acknowledging me. She walked to the table where she was already headed without a smile or without an "I'll be with you in a second" or anything like that. Couldn't have been due to being overwhelmed. There were only 2 tables with customers, one with 2 people and the other with 4. Rest of the restaurant was empty. I waited for my turn, no problem. She came right up and took my order and money. So this is my first time eating here and I'll definitely be back! I had the chicken pesto sandwich with a side salad and can't say enough good things about the food and especially the service. My waitress was a girl named Brittany I think and she was super sweet. I'm big on service so when somebody goes out of their way to do a great job like she did have I make sure to let everyone know. We stopped in for lunch while on a road trip. The chicken pesto sandwich was delicious. The Mexican Turkey Melt was yummy. Kids ordered spaghetti and meatballs (huge meatballs). A 50's/60's Family restaurant. A noisy, friendly, locals hang out . Maybe not four stars in a big city but definitely four stars for the Delta. My Veal Picatta was a little tough but the vegetable side of Broccolli, Carrots and Zucchini was plain but nicely cooked, still some bite to the vegetables. A nice marinara sauce on the spaghetti side. My Wife said her Chicken Georgio, with walnuts, grapes and Gorgonzola sauce was very good and her portion was huge, easily enough for two. Wont be going back any time soon. I am so discriminated against every time I eat out. Had dinner last night, no bread and butter with my salad, no offer of a cocktail, and there were ten french fries on my plate with my vegie and fish. I asked the waitress if the cook was putting me on a diet, and she replied they were having problems with portion sizes. How about just bringing me some more fries without having to ask for them. My wife and I stumbled upon Lucy's Cafe when we were looking for a place to eat lunch. The first impression of the restaurant isn't overwhelming, so it was a nice surprise to discover how delicious the food is. Everything we ate, from the salads to the entrees to the wine to the dessert was all fantastic. They must have a world-class chef working in the kitchen. Went to Lucys for breakfast this morning and I will never go back! I ordered the biscuits and gravy and a side of seasoned potatoes. The biscuits were rather dense and the brown (not the usual white gravy) gravy left a lot to be desired. The coffee was hot and good and the bacon was amazing. The bacon tasted like it was hickory smoked. The seasoned potatoes were undercooked and not really seasoned at all. For the first time in my life, I left the majority of my food on my plate, and I did not feel bad at all. Lucys is overpriced for the food they are serving, save your time and money and eat somewhere else. read more

Great service and yummy food. They also have a sense of humor. My husband wanted to try their prawns so he ordered one. They presented it on a large plate with beautiful decoration. Rio Vista might be low on expectations for good eats, but Lucy's might pleasantly surprise. The menu is canted to Italian and Mediterranean. I have never been disappointed in getting a very decent meal...always on the generous side in portions. The value for expenditure is excellent. After many people suggested we try Lucy's for breakfast, finally did. It was just OK. It was clean - that was a good start Only two tables with customers, so you'd think service would be quick and friendly? Not so much... The server was not at all friendly-- bordering unpleasant. French Toast was burnt- tasted like the griddle hadn't been cleaned... We had to ask for cream and refill for the weak coffee... Maybe we'll give it another try.. One more nail on the coffin for dining on the Delta. read more
