Came here for a late breakfast...walked in at noon and received the lunch menu...while most others were eating breakfast, the breakfast service had ended. We asked our waitress if the chef could still accommodate a breakfast order...we were pleasantly surprised to hear "no problem" and received a new set of menus with the breakfast fare. I bring this up to note the excellent customer service focus and how accommodating they were. As for the food, it was very good. I had the Lucy's scramble with sausage. Tons of mushrooms, onions, sausage and cheese. If anything, it was a little short on eggs...but no complaints...it was really good. Another member of group had the omelette, it was great. Went here after the Dixon May Fair about a month ago. My mom was not happy with her sandwich, but my dad called the burger he ate the best he'd ever had. I had some pasta which was meh, but the garlic bread was superb. Went back a couple weeks later and had the spaghetti and meatballs and they were quite good. This is one of the best restaurants in Rio Vista. The food is always good and fresh. This last visit, I ordered the salmon. The salmon was fresh and really yummy with capers and a tasty saunce. The vegetables were also fresh and not over-cooked. The service was good. The tomato basil soup is the best in the world. My only complaint is the booth seats. They are too low and rather uncomfortable. If you are under 5'8", bring a booster seat or telephone book to sit on! read more

Good enough food - nothing too extraordinary but fills the spot. Staff is very nice and attentive.

I have been going to Lucy's Café for the past 12 years. In our small town there are not that many choices but have found that this for me is the only and best choice. I have had almost every item on their menu over the years and have never had a bad meal. Even during this crazy time of ours they are managing to stay open 11 AM to 7 PM for take out orders only. I want to thank the owners Lucy and Manuel for staying Open and I appreciate the option of being able to get a take-out order during the stay at home orders. I have had several of the sandwiches, burgers, and salads over the past month and all of them have been fantastic. I even noticed they are taking advantage of this downtime to do some touchups to the bar and I am looking forward to going back when they open up to full service. Tried this place twice and disappointed both times. First time we went they had a limited breakfast menu but overheard three different tables ordering things that were obviously from their original menu. Service was awful as well. Decided to try it again and the second time they were out of decaf coffee out of creamer brought us a meal we didn't order that we ended up having to pay for. Service was also awful again. Both times we waited at least 20 mins for our bill and had to get up and give them our card so we could leave. Food is not great either definitely won't be going again. read more

We had dinner at Lucy's a couple of weeks ago and it was a great experience. Our server Brittany, was professional, knowledgeable and with a great personality and very patient. The cocktails: manhattans were very good. The clam chowder was delicious and the linguini with clams was out this world it had clams galore, delish. Been here a couple times now. Food is good and service is fair. It's pretty much what you would expect for a small town restaurant and an all American menu. Lunch and dinner are pretty much what one would expect. There is a full bar and its always full of the local town folk having a good time. Today we celebrated a birthday party, in a large group. With a server named Daniele who was amazing. Our food was amazing server was even better. My one star is for the manager or owner. A male cook came out into the restaurant to yell at our waitress, not even a foot away about specials. Our waitress informed us of the specials. He then proceeded to tell her he would not put her on anymore. My guess meaning not work her. This is not a way to run a business and definitely not a way to speak to your employees. Amazing restaurant! It's no cafe, they have one of a kind Italian dishes that are made with the freshest ingredients and taste better than Grandmas:) The Chicken Gregori was amazing and the Mushroom soup was the best I have ever had! Even the kids menu was worthy of praise! We had a blast looking at all of the artwork and our kids were entertained by all of the interesting decorations! Our first family dinner in this cute little town. The restaurant is connected to a bar so it's a tad loud but the service was good and the food was delicious. You definitely get a lot on your plate. Great stop. its just off the main highway going through Rio Vista. Friendly service great pasta. I had tortellini with creamy pesto it was so good I had finish my plate. I've visited Rio Vista several times and each time I have eaten dinner at Lucy's Cafe. They have never let me down. One time my traveling companion was ill and they made a grilled cheese sandwich for me to take back to the hotel. Grilled cheese sandwich was not on the menu. I've had lasagna that was excellent, their homemade bread is the best, especially if you're lucky enough to get there right after it comes out of the oven. I've also had New York steak cooked exactly as I like it. If you happen to be in this area and are looking for a very good dinner you should definitely stop by. read more

Well, I ordered a basic spaghetti dinner with garlic bread. I like Lucy's but tonights dinner found it very salty. Just seemed to have a bit too salt.Good in taste and I enjoy fresh garlic. What a treat! My wife and I are looking at houses in Rio Vista, and happened upon Lucy's. A good sign was that parking was a bit tight at 2:30 in the afternoon. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, which she loved - and she's a real connoisseur of pulled pork. She especially liked the roll it came on, and unlike many other places, the bread was nicely grilled to a toasty brown. I had the Mexican Turkey Melt, and wow! was it good! This was a great find, there were 10 of us looking for a place while traveling along the coast, we came across this quaint little place. The chief Ed Neibert treated us with a big hello, the waitress was witty and ready for some great ribbing form us. The food was great, had garlic frys that were the best! Our group of thirty plus Sports Leisure Vacations members descended on Lucy's for lunch today. Granted the lunch was prearranged, but we still were a big group arriving along with the regular lunch bunch. I speak for the six people at our table. The service was excellent. The servers worked hard getting our drinks, salads, entrees, and desert to us. The entree at the table represented the choices we were offered ahead of time: chicken breast sandwich, meatball sandwich, or garden burger. Each was declared delicious! The garden burgers were made at the cafe and both folks said they had never tasted such a good burger. The chicken and meatball sandwiches were thoroughly enjoyed. Dessert was cafe made bread pudding; we all found it lip smacking good! My wife and I will both visit Lucy's Cafe our next time in Rio Vista. Give it a try and see if you agree. read more

Came here on a family visit to Rio Vista for lunch. I have to say that it was not too bad. The waitress who served us seemed a bit busy but nothing really took terribly long. The feel of the place is pretty authentic inexpensive Italian and the food is okay... not great but not bad either. As much as I realize that the decision to be cash-only is a preference, and I do see the pros and cons to it, I really think that this place could benefit from accepting credit cards. But oh well, there is an ATM across the street so no worries. read more
