Cute spot for country cookin'! We've passed Lucy's multiple times when in Elgin, and even got a slice of cake to-go, but never really ate here. This weekend we went out to Elgin for their music festival, and dinner beforehand. There were so many items on the menu I wanted to get, but I went with my gut and got the Club Sandwich. It was kind of small, but that's a good thing, because while I like clubs, they're usually too big for me. Everything else about it was just perfect. If you like bacon, you might be a little disappointed, because the bacon was scant. On the side I chose onion rings since the only options were those or two types of fries. I tried a few nibbles of those, but they were easy to leave behind. I wanted to save room for dessert! All the desserts looked good, and their meringue pies appeared to be most popular, but I chose the Italian Wedding Cake. It was soooooo much better than the carrot cake I tried a few months ago, but maybe I'm just overly picky about my carrot cakes. This cake was huge and moist, and a real treat! My husband's burger seemed fine. Not too much to tell about it. We're definitely going to have to be back!

the food was extravagant, and the drink was extraordinary, it's really nice in here and it reminds me of the 90s, the image is my reaction to the food

Located in Elgin, TX Historic District: Excellent BLT/Club Sandwich & The worst Ice Tea I have ever had. I had recently been thinking it was time to have a club sandwich, so, when I stopped at Lucy's during a motorcycle ride from Austin to Lexington,....and saw a club sandwich on the menu, I ordered it without hesitation. Truth be told, I didnt have high expectations for the club,....but I was totally blown away by this sandwich. Think triple decker BLT with ham on toast. It was truly delicious. That said,....the Ice Tea (Unsweetened), was,......well, not like any ice tea I have ever experienced. Think, Ice tea brewed with old coffee grounds left in the pot,.......I don't know what was in their tea brewing pot,....but whatever it was was not good. I mentioned it to the cashier after telling her the sandwich was excellent,.....she just responded,...that she didn't know anything about it as she drank sweetened ice tea. I just left it like that. On the way out, I looked at the deserts that were near the cashier,...cakes, pies and brownies were all said to be home made, and they all looked amazing (I did not try any).

Had the chicken fried steak and it was big and tasty, the sides were just ok but all in all I'll go back and try them again.

The chicken fried steak was okay, the mashed potatoes and mac&cheese (bland) , that wait time was definitely not worth it !!!!!!

I got the 2 meat combo plate with chicken and garlic pork sausage. I also got the creamed corn and potato salad on the side. Everything was good. The sausage and corn were great. In hindsight I wish I had ordered chicken breast - it's a just me thing, but brown chicken meat is tasting and smelling a lot like turkey to me lately which isn't great because of a bad turkey experience. (Again just me!!) I also would have ordered double creamed corn! It was delish! I also feel like I need raw onions and pickles forever with BBQ now. New obsession. All in all, great experience, and also - great price!

Disappointing BBQ Experience…read more We stopped at Meyer's BBQ after a fun morning of picking blackberries down the road and were really looking forward to lunch. Unfortunately, this was our first visit, and will also be our last. My mom ordered the chicken, my sister had the chili, and I went all in with the brisket, ribs, creamed corn, coleslaw, and buttermilk pie. The brisket was, without question, the driest brisket I've ever had. It was so dry that I had to take a drink after nearly every bite just to get it down. The ribs weren't much better, equally dry and lacking seasoning. The creamed corn had a strange texture and flavor that neither of us enjoyed, and the coleslaw was just average. In the end, all of my meal, plus half of my mom's chicken, went home for the dogs. The one bright spot was the buttermilk pie. It was surprisingly good and had just the right amount of sweetness. To be fair, the staff was very friendly, and the restaurant and bathrooms were clean. They deserve five stars for hospitality and cleanliness. Unfortunately, the food itself was closer to one star, and when you're visiting a BBQ restaurant, the food matters most. What made this even more disappointing was that we passed by the day before and saw what looked like the entire Elgin police department parked there. We figured it must be fantastic. Sadly, that wasn't our experience. I wouldn't eat here again, and I wouldn't recommend it based on the food we received. Such a disappointment.

Meat--The meat was on the dry side, but not too dry. The meat had a LOT of fat on it to be so dry. Still very good though, great flavor and great crust. Very tasty. Sauce-very good. Balanced sweet and tangy, not on the sweet side, really likes it. Sides-I got green beans, they were not from a can, field fresh, definitely not overcooked, might could use a little more cooking. Nicely seasoned but could use a little salt. I also got Mac n cheese and it was good, I've had better but it was a nice flavor and I got a piece of toasty crust which I like and it was good. Dessert- I got peach Cobbler. I didn't like the crust. It's a cake-like crust and I prefer the pie like crust. The peaches were fresh and not from a can, not overly sweet, good flavor, but again, no cake for me. They don't have Coke Zero only Diet Coke. I did go inside to use the restroom. I like a bbq place to smell like a bbq place. This one had a stale restaurant stay.
