Glad to have this option when I want something to eat at Clipper/ Laker games. We got their homemade chips, a fried chicken sandwich with dark meat and the popcorn chicken, and the total was $27. Pretty expensive for what it is, but not too bad considering it's inside Staples. If you do get the homemade chips, ask for light seasoning or no seasoning at all. I never take the time to post reviews, but I was starving the other night at Staples Center before the Cher concert and needed something in my stomach to soak up my wine. I didn't see anything remotely appealing until LudoBird caught my eye. I expected just average or below-average stadium fare but was I surprised!!! Possibly the BEST chicken I've ever eaten IN MY LIFE!!! (and I eat chicken very often) I've been telling friends about LudoBird all week!!! Finally tried the LUdo at staples center during a Lakers game. I've seen the chicken featured on food network shows. Imo the chicken was good but I'm not convinced it was $12 good for 3 chicken strips. The white meat was tender but the beating was just falling apart. I choose the honey mustard sauce and it was blah. Didn't care for it. Chicken was decent as far as chicken goes but did not meet the hype and definitely not worth it. LudoBird gets 4 stars from me because it was great for stadium food. Outside a stadium, it would be a 3 star place. I got the dark sandwich, spicy style. It was a good chicken sandwich. It wasn't actually spicy, but wasn't bland, either. (If they offered a really spicy version, I would be all over it.) It served in a foil-lined bag and easy to eat, which is a huge bonus at a stadium. I hate trying to juggle a beer and a messy meal at the same time. I will definitely eat here again next time I'm at the Staples Center, but if there were an outside location, I wouldn't seek it out. read more

I went to LudoBird to grab something quick before the Clippers game started. I've been wanting to try Chef Ludo's chicken for a while now. I ended up getting the Buttermilk Provencal Fried chicken sandwich (dark meat). The sandwich was a potato roll stuffed full of fried chicken, pickles, coleslaw, and Ludo's special sauce. The breading on the chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the perfect amount. The chicken was super tender and moist... granted I got dark meat, but still! I liked the thickly sliced pickles and coleslaw, and the sauce was delish! The only bad thing was that the sandwich was $12! But what do you expect?... Ludobird is located inside the Staples Center. The chicken is flavorful. I don't like how easy the chicken skin crumbles. Also I'm not a fan of the Staple Center price. It is $12 for two pieces. Loved everything about this sandwich (moist, flavorful chicken and the tasty coleslaw) except for the bun! For $12, I'd expect a higher quality bun. Chicken here is amazing, except since it's Staples Center pricing you get about 1/12th of a meal for $12. I ordered the Dark Meat Chicken for $12 bucks and got back two kid-sized pieces of chicken. Seriously there is a review with 1 star below, clearly she must have confused this place with McDonalds. Their chicken sandwiches are exceptional, tasty, huge portion and while $12 for a chicken sandwich may not cheap on a relative scale Great Food for fair price. We've had the bites, strips and LOVE the sandwiches. I'm a season seat holder for the Kings and since Ludo has opened essentially every visit to Staples is even more enjoyable because now there is something really tasty to eat. Other the food you can only get on the premier level (hand carved sandwiches, salads or the restaurant) is like most of the food at Staples which is basic arena food but not Ludo. Under seasoned and only three relatively small pieces in the chicken tenders order for $11.50. I know it's only arena food but if Ludo is going to open a place up in Staples Center with his name on it then the product being served should match the price it's being sold for. People of L.A. (and visitors from other cities) deserve more. If Ludo can't pull it off then he's got no right to judge and criticize other chefs (see Top Chef and other shows he's judged on). Dont get this. The sauces seem to be off the shelf sauces like the mayo and sriachi sauce from Kum Lee. In terms of overpriced foods it's better that you go to the McDonalds or get the hot dogs at Staples than this. Not inventive and you kick yourself for buying a cafeteria chicken tender. Even my famished kids gave me that look of do I need to finish this half eaten chicken tender? Why do you kick yourself? My first impression of the place was very misleading and just awful that I got two pieces of chicken for 8.00 and no buns or sides??? Honestly I would of almost rather have them tell me they are stealing my money. The popcorn chicken was awful too, the bread around the chicken just fell off the chicken. The fried chicken sandwiches and chicken bites were the best fried chicken dishes we have tasted. The spicy chicken sandwich had a nice kick to it and the coating on the chicken was nice and crispy. The spicy chicken bites paired well with the bbq sauce. We also ordered the non-spicy chicken bites with spicy sauce and loved that we could put just the right amount of hot sauce on each bite. I remember when the food truck craze started I chased the Ludo truck around for its amazing fried chicken and Coleslaw, everything on the menu was great. When it closed I was bummed,then to find out it was only opening in Staples was another blow. Fast forward a few years at a Clippers game, more excited about the LUDO bird than I was the game. I was disappointed.(At least the game was good) The chicken wasn't as flavorful as I remember, slaw was good, bun was too soft and sloppy for that type of sandwich. It was better than a fast food chicken sandwich but nothing compared to the splendor of the Luido Truck. The Honey Lavender biscuit was cold, sticky and hard. Nothing compared to the light flaky flavor packed biscuits of the truck. House made chip were cold as well. It doesn't help that the workers at Staples act like they hate their jobs. Good food is made with love, and there was no love in any of what I ordered. After having traveled all day from Kansas, I was looking forward to my first Kings game at the Staple center in years. Garlic fries were front of mind. But wait, I saw Ludo Bird. Knowing what a great chef Ludo is, I had to have this chicken. The young gent who took my order was very friendly and excited to sell me chicken. I was excited to eat it. My order of chicken strips was ready very quickly. I was impressed. But then I picked it up... ice cold. It can happen. So I went back to the counter and told a woman that they were cold. So was her attitude. She returned with another basket of chicken. This time I didn't step away until I touched this beautiful chicken. Nope. Still cold. This time I returned to the young gent. He was very apologetic and genuinely wanted me to enjoy my experience. Another woman returned with "fresh" (I use that term loosely) chicken and to my surprise the "chef" (an even looser term) yells at me from the chicken that this batch just came out of the fryer. And it's not gonna get any hotter. Really?! You are going to yell at your customers? Let me tell you. If that chicken just came out of the fryer, then I'm a monkey's uncle. I yelled back thanks and no need worrying about me ever coming back. It's too bad. Because had the chicken just come out of the fryer and if the "chef" wasn't such a jerk, I may have actually enjoyed my strips. More importantly, my sister is a season ticket holder at the Staples Center.
