Last few times we came here has been a disappointment. We love Luigi, BUT the service is non-existent. Sat waiting for an HOUR after ordering 1 pizza and pasta dish. Ordered to-go next time, were told it would take 30 mins and to come pick it up. Showed up 30 mins later, and told to wait another "10" and then another "5", basically got our food again an hour later! One pizza. While paying overheard the waiters complaining about food coming out incorrectly, right in front of the customers.Sadly we won't be coming here anymore. Ate hear 5 years ago on a previous vacation to the Bay Area and wanted to return since we stay in Pacifica. Decor-very outdated and some what dungeons feeling. Plenty of room to eat and very nice people around. Service-very slow moving. Luigi is probably 95 yrs. old now and his helper though much younger, not very fast. Luigi is great though, he saw our order was not coming and kept bringing us garlic bread. He's a great guy. Food-ordered pizza and it was good. Nothing overly great, but tasty. Should've ordered rice balls, but we were trying not to eat too much. Tip-bring lots of patience and order rice balls, you appreciate you did. Place is slightly dated, and there is only 1 server, so things are a little slow. Food is average, the Marinara is slightly bland. Chicken cacciatore came with bony chest parts I think. Would have preferred thighs or even drums. Sauce is average. Maybe we ordered wrong dish that made others rank this so highly read more

This is pur new favorite Italian restaurant. Luigi was such a sweet man and came over multiple times just to chat with us. He even gave us soup broth to feed our baby on the house (I think). Like Luigi, the restaurant is modest but authentic. For unknown reasons Luigi sent over some garlic bread on the house. The bread presents as modest, if not unimpressive (no offense to Luigi), but one bite and my first thought was "WTF!?!?" - it was that good. Anything with the meat sauce is probably delicious, and I'm not the biggest carnivore (I prefer poultry and fish) - but again, WTF!? The lasagna was better than most, as was the pesto gnocchi. Protip: next time we're getting it with meat sauce instead. And bring your family and their appetites - this is the kind of place that deserves your money. We will be coming back (from Richmond!). Seriously, bury me with the meat sauce. read more

First of all, please do get some Arancini di Riso (the rice balls) - this makes it all worth it (I get 4, as these suckers come alive with an air fryer the next day). Second, do offer kind thanks to Luigi, who for years had field trips of elementary school kids make their own pizza proudly in his kitchen. So I have been going to the city/town of Pacifica often as of late. With the gyms closed down, it's a great area for me to get some fresh air and go hiking. I've also been exploring the area looking for new places to eat and try. Ive heard a few people mention and rave about the rice balls here at Luigi's. Rice balls filled with meat and there is a meat sauce that you put on top. I ate about 2 and it was just ok. I decided I wanted a meat lasagna as well. If you look at the picture I have, it looks like it was not baked or put together well. Bland tasting. Disappointing. I would expect it to be better especially if you are charging $14 dollars for it. The lasagna came with a little bit of vegetables and small piece of mediocre garlic bread. Maybe it was a "off" day and maybe they make other items better? Unfortunately I was disappointed in my order and do not plan on returning anytime soon. read more

Luigi is a great restaurant. The location, the service, the food, the ambient. This restaurant is the true definition of a great restaurant. I ordered a medium pizza of half pepperoni and half chicken pesto, an order of seafood risotto, and two slices of tiramisu cake (for dessert). The food-server who was (Luigis daughter) was incredible. Her attitude and charisma made the experience astonishing. Luigi himself is an outstanding man. HIs food, his attitude, his place. We came here on a Friday night around 6:30 and they were only a couple of people in the restaurant however within 20 minutes more people came. Small parking lot we got a space. Nice people that work here and a good amount of choices on the menu I had the half and half ravioli and spaghetti with meat sauce. My dish was good My husband had the seafood Alfredo and sadly the sauce was really oily. They give you small cut up pieces of garlic bread with your meal. read more

We had a late lunch at Luigi's. My husband had the Combo Lasagna and I had the Eggplant Parmesan. They were served with a side of pasta with marinara sauce, vegetable medley, and the house made garlic bread. (I am addicted to the garlic bread!) Everything was fresh, served very hot, and delicious. Even the Chianti was really good. The server was very good and Luigi checked on us too. We loved our food so much that we ordered Ravioli and Pizza to go for later! The tables were generously spaced, and the view of the forested hills was nice. I know that we will be back! read more

Okay, this is the best food I have had as delivery in my life. We were on a mini vacation in Pacifica, so we always eat local. Nothing more pedestrian than traveling to a place and eating at a chain.... There should be a law.... But I digress. The Rice Balls (or Arancini di Riso for those who understand Italianish) were perfect. My husband made an entire meal of them, and the sauce was amazing, very rich and satisfying. And they were still piping hot! The pizza was fantastic. Perfect crust, and just the right amount of toppings. The dessert s were great, I am going to guess they were from a commercial bakery, but they were excellent, none the less. Haven't been in a while but the pizza I ordered to go had less toppings. I only had 2 toppings and the cheesy garlic bread had little to no garlic at all. I ordered over the phone and the person I was talking with ordered a whole loaf of cheesy non garlic bread. He was a little rude he mentioned that I ordered a whole loaf and I said 1/2 . It was a chilly evening so we decided Italian comfort food sounded good. We stumbled upon this place and ended up getting a table right away. The food was very good - everything we had was fresh and flavorful! The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 was because our waiter wasn't very attentive. Not the place to go if you don't have hours to waste. Not very clean (only had 1 server/busing) Dirty tables and floors. But we heard it was good so we ordered. Pizza took sooo long to arrive - we had to take it to go. Soup came out right away , it was good. Salad was forgotten. Thankful baby got her pasta - only took 30 minutes. Staff seemed exhausted and moved at snail pace. It wasn't till after I got back that I was told by a local - 'don't go there if you have somewhere to be later!' Great family style with authentic personality. Luigi is they guy you want if you had an Italian Grandfather. He is engaging and bursting with personality and friendliness. A group at another table is speaking Italian and a family across from me Spanish. Luigi's service is straight forward. The waitress, an older woman had just enough no nonsense sass that I would guess she is the grandma all business to Luigi's conversationalist. I wanted pizza, but didn't feel like trekking to Sunset or Millbrae. I decided to search on Yelp for something closer. Luigi's popped up and had positive reviews, so we decided to give them a try. It seems this place is mainly for locals as it's located in a tiny plaza in a residential area. Rice Ball ($2.95) - Several Yelpers said this is a must get. I thought it was just mediocre. "A" said it was good, but just imagine eating rice with meat sauce, you really can't go wrong. The balls were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Garlic Bread - The bread was nicely crisp. However, they could've used more garlic as it was very faint. Buffalo Wings - Wings were average, but you could tell it's homemade and not the frozen stuff. The sauce was more tangy than spicy. Pepperoni & Mushroom Pizza - We ordered an XL, which was $16.75. The price is very reasonable as other places charge more. We asked for thin crust and it came out perfectly thin and crisp. It had just the right amount of tomato sauce and the pepperoni wasn't too salty. Peach Italian Soda - I wouldn't recommend ordering this as they used way too much syrup. It was super sweet and tasted medicinal. Service was mediocre. Our waitress wasn't very attentive. read more

This review would be my 2nd 1 star since I joined Yelp. These are the food I got: - Chicken scallopini: dry chicken, overcooked veggie with no seasoning, pasta with Ragu sauce put on top of it. It also didn't taste like any chicken scallopini I've ever had in my life. - Linguine with pesto: not good, need way more olive oil. - Garlic bread: ok. - Caesar salad: ok, but it's not tossed (dressing still inside a plastic container). I've known this man since I was 13 when he was a manager at Puzza Hut in SSF and gave me my first job putting coupons on cars... many years later waitressed for him when he opened Luigi's in Pacifica, while very pregnant. Went for a cruise to get out of the house over the weekend and was so happy to see he was still up and running. Experienced our first meal at Luigi's last evening and it is definitely a repeat! The arancini were the best I've had and I'm first generation Italian. Our orders consisted of chicken parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana, and lasagna. All were top notch. A lot of Italian restaurants cover entrees with an overabundance of mozzarella but that was not the case with our entrees so the distinct flavors were experienced. We walked from our hotel to get a good feel of the coastal town of Pacifica. We were beginning to think we had gotten lost, since this little place seemed to be right in the middle of a subdivision. Walked in and were quickly seated. It was warm (no fans and a blaring pizza oven).... Pizza came out and I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed the crust.. maybe a sourdough style? Sauce was on the sweeter side, and not the way I prefer. Staff was friendly, and an elderly gentlemen kept coming around to make sure we were doing good (we kept wondering if this was Luigi himself)....
