Overdue for posting a 5-star review. I've gone to Luke's Auto for my '94 Accord Wagon for over three years now, and I've had 5-star-worthy service every single time I've brought my car in (which is probably about a dozen or so times). Like, just the peace of mind that I know they're honest people, and that I can trust their advice would be enough for me, but they're also extremely fairly priced and their quality of service and repairs can't be beat. Their warranties are super great (I've gotten free repairs in excess of $1500 at this point), the free loaner car is super convenient, and I am just floored by how great they are to work with on all fronts (quality, service, price - you name it). Just as an example, when I had first purchased my car off of craigslist (over 3 years ago), I brought it into Luke's for them to take a look at. Turns out what I thought was a small oil leak was a crazy internal oil leak from a couple different seals (I remember the crankshaft seal, I forget the other one), with repairs totaling an estimated $1800. That was a big blow, obviously, for me, and they told me what they thought I should prioritize repairs-wise if I wanted to stick with this car, but they asked me if I wanted to look elsewhere for a new (used) car instead. I asked their advice, and they said the Accord was in remarkably good condition otherwise (virtually no rust under the car, essentially components like transmission, engine, brakes were in great shape) and they said it would likely be worth the repairs if I went through with them, but they wanted to give me an option. I decided to go through with the repairs, and sure enough, my 25-year-old car has held up super well and they were good on the warranty on those initial repairs when the crankshaft seal broke again. I have never had to get emergency repairs on my car; I just have them check it out whenever I need an oil change, and I haven't had any expensive repairs since that initial one. I must say that MOST of the customer service was great. I believe his name was Dennis that I worked with the most and he was very nice and knowledgeable. Now, the reason why I will never be back. They gave me an Uber ride home and then once the diagnostic was done and they called me. They said they had a loaner car and they would give me a Uber ride back. I was told that the gas was full and I should bring it back full. The next day they called me and told me that my car was done and I brought the loaner car back FULL. I was chatting with Dennis and all was well until Brad asked if I put gas in it. I said "it is full" It went downhill from here. I told him go look at it. I just spent over $700 and he wanted to make a big deal about a couple of dollars worth of gas. He then went out to inspect the car and got nasty saying "you just put 50 miles on it!" I live in Grove City and you are up north Columbus. Then another guy came out and tried to explain why I had to put gas in it. So I said OK then charge me. He wouldn't take my credit card. So then I brought six dollars to him to fill up what was probably only a dollars worth of gas. At that point I've already decided I'm not coming back but as I drove off, I had my AC light was on. I don't use the AC for medical reasons. So I had to pull over, tried to mess with all the buttons to get this display light to turn off. So I had to go back to the shop and apparently one of the mechanics had done some thing with display and Dennis help me to turn it off. So in 24 hours I made six trips back and forth from Grove city to North Columbus, wasted pretty much the whole day and the next day, spent over $700 for simple repair, get a nasty customer service rep over a couple of dollars and then had to take it back because of something that they screwed up. Sorry but I will not be going back nor will I refer anyone to your company. read more

Luke's Auto is 5 stars all the way. The check engine light came on in my '99 Jaguar VDP during my commute to work and it was stumbling at idle. Despite the fact the Luke's was fully booked and I had no appointment, Aaron agreed to do a full diagnosis of the car the next business day. Since it was Friday and I didn't want to risk driving the car to work in "restricted performance" mode, Aaron offered to keep the car locked up in the shop garage over the weekend. On Monday afternoon, Jay contacted me to let me know that they had swapped the ignition coils between two cylinders, which fixed the stumbling issue and that they had test driven the car in an effort to get the check engine light to come back on to determine if I actually needed a new coil. Because they could not get the engine light to come back on and the car was driving smoothly with no codes being thrown, Jay said it was fine to pick up the car after work. The final bill? $106 for the diagnosis and the labor. How many garages out there would simply have ordered a new coil and charged a few hundred dollars for the parts and labor without blinking an eye? A few days later, Aaron left a follow up message to check whether I had any additional issues with the car. Luke's Auto is a honest, ethical repair shop that gets repairs done right the first time at a very fair price. Most importantly, they know how to treat their customers. Like many of the other reviewers of Luke's Auto, I wouldn't think about bringing my cars to anyone other garage. read more

We have a chevy trailblazer and the a/c went out. We took it to a couple garages and they only overcharged the freon to get it cool temporarily then it goes hot the next day. We brought it to the local dealership thinking they would know what's wrong with their own make of car but they fast talked and did the same thing as the others did. We were so frustrated that Chillicothe Oh doesn't have an experienced and honest garage so I went online to find one in Columbus and landed on Luke's Auto Repair. I liked their ad and how they give back to the community so we brought it there. BEST thing we've done! Luke's is a God send. I dealt with Lucas and met Luke the first time we were there. Very friendly and very nice, always had a smile for us. They fixed the a/c and also pointed out a dangerous tie rod that needed replaced as well which the dealer, who said they did a 20 something point check on it, failed to mention, probably because they didn't do it just charged for it. This work was done about 3 months ago and we haven't had any problems at all. I believe in the saying " Tested then trusted". Now I trust them completely. My wheel and entire car shook noticeably whenever I drove. I'm not a regular at any mechanics (except for oil changes just at Valvoline or Meineke nearby), so I had to search for a shop that knew cars, was reliable, trustworthy, and affordable. Luke's Auto popped up and stood out with all positive reviews. I also noticed on their website there were several knowledgeable and experienced mechanics that work here. That tells me that they're able to rely on each other for advise or guidance on car issues that one may not fully understand or have experienced before. I described my problem on their website, and they get back to me within an hour or so what the problem most likely is and scheduled an appointment. I met with Josh and he did a great job explaining to me what was wrong, what needed to be done, and provided me my options. Josh provided me a quote and stuck with it. They even provided me a loaner car free of charge, which was an older car but it was very well taken care of. They replaced all my tires and now driving my car feels amazing and I feel a lot more confident on our unpredictable Ohio roads. I expect to be a regular here for all my car needs. Our 2008 Nissan Armada had some issues, we were very frustrated going from machinic to machinic with no satisfying answers. I googled and found LUKE'S Automotive website, there I read the reviews and was shocked to see a number of satisfied customers, I have never seen. I decided to give it a try and booked my schedule. It was very very convenient. After my appointment, I called to speak to a representative, I was shocked to not only hear someone taking the time and listen to my concerns, yet I do not have a lot of knowledge about cars but the representative continued to calmly gather information from me. I then brought our Nissan to the shop, They were able to replace my lights, did a thorough diagnosis on my "Check engine light issues", and came up with a plan on how to get the issues resolved. Excellent! - To say the least, what really stood out the most for me is the total genuine customer service interaction I have, the text messages I received about my car, the calls from the service person, the assurance and warranty provided, and above all the value that Luke's automotive added to me as a customer. About a year ago my car had developed a clopping sound it had been serviced by the dealer and I was told they did not hear anything. Was told the axles looked fine, however a while later the left one blew and so did my sway bar. After it was fixed I continued to hear the noise. At this point I didn't know what to do so when the engine light came on I was hesitant to return to the dealer. After an internet search I found Luke's, the reviews were good and the main theme was their honesty. Sure enough I found that to be the case. The motor mounts and oxygen sensor were the problems. He explained he would only replace the bad ones whereas a dealer would have replaced all of them and charged thousands. He understood I was not trying to rebuild yet not quite ready to give up on it. There is one other item that will need replacing but he did not push the issue he told me what I NEEDED and what could wait without sacrificing safety. I have an older model Toyota Tacoma pick up truck that I had a issue with the emissions system. I took it to a nearby Toyota dealership for diagnosis and with two separate attempts they misdiagnosed the problem. They wanted $400 to replace a part that is not faulty. So my search for an independent repair shop began. I came across Luke's in my search and saw the five star rating so based on that I gave them a call. Took my truck to them the very next day and they diagnosed the problem properly and found the issue. I was not able to complete the repair however I will take it back to them as soon as I am financially able to fix the issue. Everyone I talked to were very cordial, very professional and really knew what they were doing. I am in the mechanical trades as a professional so I know when someone tries to feed me BS. The extra bonus was I was given a loaner car so I could get to work that day, I know of no other repair shops that provide service like this. Definitely five star! read more

This is my second experience with Luke's auto and they will have a returning customer with me! The first repair I had done turned out to be more than anticipated, but the service team kept us in the loop and checked with us every step of the way. Although the price was more than expected it was still a very fair price. I know because my family owns an auto repair shop out of state, and I checked with them on the price of the repair, and it was right on book value! Our second repair was much cheaper than expected! They have very talented technicians who quickly and accurately diagnosed the electrical issue, and even warrantied one of the parts that I was unaware had a warranty! They have very fair prices and even better quality of their work. They let you know what is wrong with your vehicle and what Maintanance they recommend but present it in a low pressure helpful way! I've taken my car into Luke's a couple of times and both times I have had a positive experience. The first time I dropped off my car and they told me it would take a couple of days to fix it. They called me the next day and said that it would take an additional day. They apologized and said that they would replace my wiper blades for free. And they did. The second time, I called for an appointment explaining that my car wouldn't start. The guy asked me if I had checked my car's fuses. He explained what I needed to do. And I did it. My car still wouldn't start so I had it towed to Luke's. They fixed the issue. My question is 'What auto shop have you ever called, gave you advice to try to fix your car so that you wouldn't have to spend the money to get it towed in and then pay the auto shop to fix it? Very few I would guess. Every person that I have talked to or dealt with at Luke's has been very professional and really nice. read more

They had my car longer than they expected to, but they called and explained why, and made sure I was ok with them having it an extra day in order to a very thorough inspection and road test after the work they did. I had a loaner car while mine was in the shop, so I was not inconvenienced at all, and I appreciate their attitude of doing the job completely and not skimping in the service. They were very polite and helpful, even went over and above, by helping me to transfer my baby seat from one car to the other, coming and going. There are not many businesses that care about Customer Service like Luke's does. I will continue to use them exclusively for any work that needs to be performed on my car, knowing it will be done efficiently and professionally. They care about my car as much as I do. They even did some extra repair while they were doing the scheduled repair, but the amount I paid was the exact amount of the estimate. read more

Well, I took my car in for service with Luke's and I was pleasantly surprised. Excellent service, knowledgeable about the issues, gave me their honest advice about what repairs needed to be done and which ones I could wait a little longer on. It is rare to find an honest mechanic and people with great work ethic these days. 9/10 My only complaint was a few plastic rivets that were missed when putting my front end back together. Easy fix but took me forever to figure out where the rattle was coming from. I kept looking near the tires but nope, it was the cover near the grill under the hood. Thought I was going to lose my mind on that trip to TN. (rattle rattle bonk rattle) Floral wire works in a pinch on the interstate though! lol Wasn't the first, won't be the last time I have used it! lol Will be calling on Monday to see about having my headliner replaced. I had a fantastic experience here. They were very accommodating and were able to get me an appointment within half an hour of calling in the morning. The front desk employee named Jason was very courteous and professional and even took initiative to book me an uber to get me to an appointment later that morning without cost to me. The pricing was reasonable and I was not upcharged at all, in fact, I found that they had applied a discount without me asking! Max was my technician and he did a great job and was able to complete the work an hour and a half before my quoted finish time. I've had them perform work on my vehicles before and they have done my families work as well and the finished result has always been great! Great customer service and thorough diagnostics. Took our truck to a mechanic out of town who diagnosed a rear axle seal leak but could not do the work to fix, so we took it to Tansky Toyota to get it addressed. Tanksy looked the vehicle over and insisted there was no axle leak and despite our request to take the brake drum off to verify, they refused, instead they said they didn't have to because 'they could just tell'. I found Luke's on Yelp with good reviews and took the vehicle here. They listened, did what we asked, and what do you know? They found the axle seal leak! They provided pictures along with a thorough evaluation of the vehicle. They got the work done in a timely fashion, communicated all along the way, and provided excellent customer service. I'd never heard of these guys until I received an ad in the mail, so I thought I'd give them a try for some routine service. SUCCESS! A little background: Several times in the past few years, I've complained to the Honda dealership that my Fit's acceleration jerks when I turn corners or come to a near stop and then accelerate. "That's just the way Fits work," the service manager told me, so I stopped asking. The guys at Luke's recommended changing the transmission fluid. On the way home, I noticed that the hesitation/jerk seemed to be gone. Since then, I've paid close attention when accelerating from low speeds and the car now works the way it should. My family and I have been taking our cars to Luke's Auto for years. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. All the employees are friendly and will talk you through all the work being done on your car. They explain what is a necessary repair and what you could wait to fix. I had a hole in my exhaust system a year ago and they were wonderful with coming up with different options to fix the problem within my budget. This is hands-down, the best auto shop in Columbus. My husband and I have taken our cars to Luke's for 4 years now and always get great service. The team is honest and they complete a thorough inspection of our cars every time we bring them in. The staff lets us know what repairs are needed and ways we can decrease costs if needed.
