First time at Luke's and it did not disappoint! There's usually a line out the door each day, but we got lucky with the rain and didn't have to wait too long. We ordered the NOT a cheesesteak and a roast beef sandwich, along with their lemonade on tap and house chips. NOT a cheesesteak - my husband said it was delicious! The cheese was cheesin' and with how large the sandwiches are, he packed up half to go. Roast beef - from the homemade focaccia bread, to the garlic aioli and tritip, this sandwhich was top notch. My only gripe was the number of sprouts, but that's probably more of a person problem. It's a full sandwich without being impossible to bite into or falling all out of the bottom. Lemonade & chips - if you like sour & tart, the lemonade is for you! It is a pucker your lips type of taste, which is not for everyone. And the chips were another delish choice. We got one order to split and it was a perfect amount as the umami miso seasoning can get overwhelming after eating a lot of them. Overall, cannot wait to come back and have another sandwich here!! Tips/Advice: there are lots of outlets by tables, so it can be a perfect spot to work from (if they allow that!). There can also be a bit of a wait for your sandwich, so recommend bringing some cards to pass the time! Picked up a roast beef and an Italian, the cucumber salad and the chips to split with my husband. Had half of the roast beef and I'm FULL. So delicious, all of the toppings meld so well together. I don't know what they do to the onions to make them taste so amazing, but never stop doing that! I've seen so many people talking about the sandwiches but no mention of the sides. The chips - can't get enough! So good, fresh, crispy, delicious. The cucumber salad I could eat daily, it's so packed with flavor and a little kick that doesn't linger (lucky for me ) Saving my half of the Italian for dinner, but from the looks alone, I KNOW it's going to be just as good, if not better than the roast beef! As a person not big on sandwiches, I will be returning here. Got the Roast Beef sandwich and the side of carrots and cucumbers. -the sandwich is big! Good enough to share between two people. But as much as it is big I don't find it to be overstuffed where the filling is spilling out when you eat. Love that -I would have liked the carrots to be crispier (like air fried) but if that's how it's supposed to be it is still very good and just my own preference -love the cucumbers!! AMAZING!!! I tried the Romesco and the "Not a Cheesesteak" - both SO good. Juicy bread, exciting flavors, fresh ingredients - you can really tell that everything is made from scratch. I can honestly say the Romesco (pictured) is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Also, don't miss the homemade lemonade, or the chips - they're umami, seasoned in-house... To be honest, the sandwiches were pretty good and hearty in size but on the expensive side. The real issue was the wait time. I waited 40 minutes total for two sandwiches. The first came out 25 minutes after I ordered and the second one took another 15 minutes. I ordered them at the same time and when I asked I was told they come out in the order they were ordered, apparently not. I wanted to try somewhere I hadn't been yet and saw Luke's. The menu had promise, so I headed on over. I settled on the caprese because it is the safe option when trying a new sandwich shop, at its base level it is still generally good. This one isn't basic. Well balanced flavors and textures; the rich and creamy stracciatella, the arugula pesto, the sweet balsamic reduction and the soft, slightly chewy focaccia with a light crunch contrasting with the crisp tomato and soft spreads was fantastic. A lot of sandwiches kind of just meld their flavors, this one came in distinct layers, which is typical of a caprese, but here each layer hit so nicely. I'm coming back to try more, but it will be so hard not to get this one again. Luke's is a welcome addition to the local landscape. read more
