What I left. Would have left more had I not spent $30. Will not return.

Maybe I caught them on a bad day. The atmosphere was nice, friendly folks, but the food was not good. I would have left more if it wasn't for the fact I spent $30 for lunch. I got two meats, ribs and links. The ribs were horrible. Overcooked and dry. It took lots of jaw muscles to chew. Not real links, but not bad. The beans and potato salad was bland at best.

The Brisket was nice and tender but the portions for the cost they charge was high. The links was unique (good). I did not enjoy the sides. It seemed like the beans were just that beans out of a can.

I don't know what this was sorry not for me

I could eat BBQ every single day. Rain, shine, heartbreak, payday it doesn't matter. So when I saw Luling City Market, I slammed on the brakes like my car forgot how to drive. The smell hit me before I even walked in smoky, meaty, heavenly. I swear it whispered, "Eat me." It was lunchtime, so I kept it "simple": brisket sandwich and a spicy sausage link. Famous last words. First, the brisket sandwich. The bread? So thick it could bench press a brisket. The meat? Old, tired, sad. No bark. No life. Looked like it had survived the great BBQ apocalypse yesterday and was just... holding on. I took one bite and whispered, "Oh this brisket has regrets." Then I went for the spicy link, hoping for a comeback story. Nope. Flavor? Evaporated. Spice? Missing in action. Just sadness in casing form. I stared at it, imagining it going to therapy for underachievement. By the end, I was just staring at the smoker like it personally ruined my childhood. BBQ places like this, man they're stuck in the past. The service? Always sweet, amazing folks. And honestly, it reminded me of Sundays growing up family crowded around, my dad on the grill making ribs, the smell drifting down the block, neighbors sneaking over, my brother stealing ribs like a little criminal mastermind. Pure nostalgia. But the new BBQ masters out here? They're not playing. They're remixing recipes, tossing in flavor, sending heat like a BBQ apocalypse in the best way possible. I'm talking ribs that make angels weep, brisket that hits your soul, sausage that could start a revolution. And I'm so here for that era.

Great Sausage n just decent Brisket...

I came here for the second time ever in many years awhile back. I ordered Lean Brisket and Sausage. The sausage was good, but the brisket despite being tender, smoky and having a good bark & pink ring was just ok. It needed more seasoning and juiciness. Lean brisket can certainly still have good moisture, even though it's not on the fattier side. The bbq sauce was too tangy and acidic. I would consider giving this place another try in the future, but in no rush as of now.

After a long day of walking all over Houston we wanted some authentic bbq and came across Luling's City Market. When we walked in there wasn't anyone there except for one customer but I'm happy we decided to still try it. The workers were warm and inviting and were happy to serve us. Inside it's kind of dark but we opted to eat outside where it was better lit. I had ribs with coleslaw and potato salad. These were some of the best ribs I've ever had. They weren't fatty at all and the seasoning was soooo good. My husband got brisket and normally I'm not a brisket girl but his was so good I could've ate all of it. They gave good portions for all the sides and they were just as tasty as the meat. I can't wait to go back and try other items.

    A great spot, indeed

Upon exploring the amazing city of Houston, we decided to get some BBQ : this place was amazing. Monica at the bar served the best wine and with a kind smile. The food was delicious and seasoned just enough to where you can still taste the flavor of the brisket itself. I'm a cole slaw fan so I devoured that as well : great prices and the very best bbq sauce. I will be ordering some after we return home to LA as the bottles they sell wouldn't fit into my carry on. Thank you for everything Monica, we will definitely be back!

A nice little hole in the wall BBQ spot. The brisket sandwich is VERY good, so surprised. Beware of the alacart prices. I like the TVs on NFL Sunday. See our youtube channel Coolest Life.

Spicy link, brisket, potato salad, cole slaw and pickles

I was looking for some great bbq during my trip to Houston an Luling City Market near The Galleria mall exceeded my expectations. I had spicy links and brisket with sides of pickles, cole slaw and potato salad. Everything is made in house and was delicious! The staff was helpful and friendly. I'll definitely be back next time im anywhere near this area!!

Best bbq in Texas? I don't know, but it's pretty darn good. My brother and I went for lunch and both ordered sliced brisket sandwiches, and he bought a rib and some potato salad on the side. I'm very picky about potato salad but this was much better than I anticipated. They only offered potato salad, beans, coleslaw, and pickles for sides. I would have appreciated more selection there. I personally like baked potatoes with my bbq, but that's just me. The brisket and rib were amazing- tender, with good bark and smoke rings. The serving of brisket on the sandwich is generous and it has a nice smoked flavor. The bun was good- didn't get soggy. The sauce is famous- it's not sweet- kind of tart and very good. You can buy bottles of it to take home, along with their signature rubs. It's expensive, $10 for a brisket sandwich, but it is good and they give generous portions. The staff is friendly and the restaurant has a great vibe. If you're in the area and looking for good bbq- this is solid TX bbq. You won't be disappointed.

Look at how dry and shriveled up this sausage is
    Texas Time Traveler S.

It's amazing what these people pass off as bbq and it's an insult to customers that they would dare sell this crap for money. And it ain't cheap either! If you live around here and need to eat protein for sustenance and have a bunch of money, sure, eat here. But if you have taste buds and value your money, there are infinite better options all over the state. Our brisket was horribly dry, tough, our ribs were cold and rock hard, and the sausage.... How do you mess up sausage?! The exterior was shriveled up, and so tough to the point where the plastic knives they give you won't even cut the sausage no matter how fast you saw back and forth. Then when you finally cut it open it's all loose and mushy and the filling falls out. All three things we tried lack the bare minimum of being the right temperature and having good texture. I haven't even started on the taste yet, which was so lackluster that we doused all the meats with sauce just to make it palatable. And we only did that so we wouldn't waste our money. In the end, this meal was so miserable that we actually threw away the last rib and big piece of brisket. We're the type to never waste food but this stuff is truly bad. Never again.

    Tim C.

I've been here twice and the 'Q is awesome. The first visit the brisket was moist and tasty, the pork ribs were even better, the beef sausage link was very good. My second visit the brisket was a tad dry, the pork ribs were meaty and full of flavor, tried the spicy sausage link, great taste but not much spice. The sides i tried were and very good cole slaw and beans....they were so good the first time why change. If you haven't been....go!

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats. Overall, the staff were really friendly, and the entire visit was smooth. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Five out of five stars!

I ordered "The Convention" breakfast which was "Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Breakfast Potatoes and Buttermilk Biscuits" - it came with literally 20 tiny sausage patties and biscuits total. So one tiny sausage and biscuit per person. I didn't count the bacon but it was a similarly stingy portion. No one had more than two pieces. The eggs were bland. The potatoes were actually good. But overall, it was so embarrassing to have the food show up and it be these tiny trays of hardly any food for over $400. I would have been better off ordering individual dishes for each person from a local restaurant. I thought with the high Yelp and Google reviews I saw, this would be a safe bet! I also ordered a 20 mini pastries for $3.25 each which were like pastries you get at a 7/11. At least if you are overcharging, let the food be good and not like you unwrapped pastries from a Costco haul. Worst of all was the coffee which was watered down and disgusting. Everyone threw theirs out so I just dumped it. What an utter waste of money. Also they only sent 8 cups with the coffee even though the breakfast was for 20. Stingy and bland all around. If you are catering for a small group, please save yourself the trouble and embarrassment and just order takeout from a local restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the spread but I was just too upset. All I took was the coffee which you can tell even from the picture was watery. ***The menu listed the items but didn't say only 1, 1oz piece of bacon per person - that's absolutely absurd for a normal breakfast portion. Who would cater one piece of bacon per person?

I loved the food and munched on it like a starving kitten. Pandemic hits and it severely limits my ability to go to places, but I still had the old flyer. I called the order in ahead and ordered a shrimp poboy for myself, a fish one for my husband and a chicken pasta for my mother. First things first, as its technically a catering company and due to restrictions with dine in service in Fort Bend County, I don't know if the inside will ever be meant for dining service. It seems it's meant mostly for pick up, but on the other hand restaurants are operating differently with the pandemic, so I can't say for sure. Now the food. Portions are huge. Our poboys were large enough that we split them to taste the other person's meal. I felt they were some of the best poboys, I've had. Probably the only better ones are the ones from New Orleans and that's high praise as it's New Orleans influenced dining. If you want to know, I think the fried fish poboy slightly edged out the shrimp poboy. I felt the taste of the shrimp at times got lost, whereas the fish poboy and all of the other components were balanced. However, it's such a slight difference in terms of taste, that you're not losing out if you're eating the shrimp poboy. But if you are eating with someone and they don't mind sharing, I do recommend swapping half your poboy. For my mother's meal, as a picky old lady, she was content, and that's rare. It was a lot of food, it came with vegetables and corn bread. She ate it and didn't complain. To me that's high praise. The only real "knock" as that while the bread pudding is good, I know you can get better bread pudding elsewhere. Also, as it seems to be a start up business, drink options are also limited. However, I think with time there will be more drink options/ As for the bread pudding, people are either going to agree with me or not. It's still good, but I don't think that's the highlight of this caterer/restaurant. The main dishes are what makes this place unique and I'd come here for those dishes or consider this place for events like weddings and bigger parties. The food is good enough to make everyone happy and if it's for a wedding or birthday party it's not like you'll need their dessert as wedding/birthday cakes tend to be ordered at bakeries. Definitely try it, and send me a note if you agree.
