Things have changed at Brisket House over the last few years, so here's a new review... I stopped in last week and ordered a sausage sandwich. Their sausage used to be decent. It's more Eckrich-like today. It used to be in a Czech/German Texas hill country style. Not anymore. It's hot garbage. Pass on the sausage. Let's try again today. This time I ordered the brisket and pork ribs. They used to be famous for their beef ribs. They don't serve them anymore. It's a shame. You can't fault them on this. They probably had trouble sourcing the beef ribs for a price that wasn't outrageous. It's a tough business. So, I order a 1/2 lbs of pork ribs and a 1/4 lbs of brisket. The brisket was out of this world amazing! Of course, they're named "The Brisket House". Pork ribs were perfect. Sauce very good as well. The girl at the counter was rude and obnoxious. They used to have nice people working there. It's hard to find good help these days.

I have been wanting to try this place out after hearing so many good things about it. I loved it! Loved the smokiness of the moist ribs, delicious tangy bbq sauce, creamy loaded mashed potatoes and green beans. Service was friendly. The casual atmosphere is perfect for getting messy from eating ribs!

The TBH (The Brisket House) platter was very good, brisket, sausage and ribs with three sides...we chose pinto beans, cole slaw and corn bread, all 5 stars. My wife had a craving for a baked tater which was barely warm and not fully cooked, minus a star, she should have taken it back and asked for a do over.

Food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend and I will be back if I'm ever in the area.

I was in town on business and this location came highly recommended to enjoy some good BBQ. When I walked into the restaurant, I noticed its industrial-style design, with a brick-layer counter and an open kitchen where you could watch the food being prepared. It's a casual place where you order at the counter, pay, and then find a seat at one of the ten or so tables inside. Both the preparation and dining areas appeared clean. To be honest, I expected to be hit with the delicious smell of BBQ smoke as soon as I walked in, but that wasn't the case. Still, I went up to the counter to place my order. Unfortunately, the young woman at the counter didn't seem too interested in helping me. There was no greeting, just a cold shrug when I said hello. Asking her questions about the menu felt like a chore, and I almost considered leaving. But since I had taken an Uber to get there, I decided to stay and ordered the three-meat plate combo with brisket, ribs, and sausage, along with baked beans and loaded mashed potatoes. A polite gentleman brought the food to my table within minutes, as everything was already prepared. As I started eating, I realized I was missing cornbread--a must-have with BBQ in my opinion. I hadn't seen it listed under the main menu, but after a closer look, I found it under desserts. Reluctantly, I approached the same grumpy server to ask about it and ended up ordering a slice. Thankfully, the other men behind the counter were much friendlier. The portions were generous for the price, especially with the sides included. The meats were fantastic--well-smoked, seasoned, and tender. The baked beans had a nice smoky flavor, and the mashed potatoes were creamy with the skin still on, though they could have used a bit more topping. The cornbread was a highlight--light and fluffy with a golden brown, slightly crispy crust. It had a good balance of sweet and savory, and the honey drizzled on top made it even better. They also have a variety of drinks, including beer, soda, Dr. Pepper fountain drinks, and iced tea. Although I didn't try the desserts, they offered options like banana pudding, pecan pie, and chocolate chip brownies. Now, I'm someone who values good customer service, and I believe it can make or break the dining experience. Unfortunately, my interaction with the staff left a bad taste in my mouth. While I was there, I noticed that the young lady at the counter treated other customers differently, based on their skin color, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. Despite the good food, I won't be returning. There have to be better, more welcoming places to enjoy BBQ. Order Cornbread - $1.50 Three meat plates with 2 sides - $24.90 Food - 4 Service - 2

My first time ordering and I was fairly impressed overall! Easy to order over the phone which was nice. My fav part was the banana pudding but the sandwich was by far the star. The green beans and mac & cheese we're just ok. The mac & cheese was a little bland in my opinion. But overall a really good meal, I would come back for sure and maybe order some different sides.

Geez! Whoever cooks these ribs is awesome! So I tried the 3 meat plate: Ribs, brisket, chicken. Was great and tasty. Staff were nice and on-point. This place is a gem. If you haven't tried it, you should. I do wish they had more sides like okra. I also would like to see a 2nd option bbq sauce a little spicier. Love the country music and decor.

A hidden gem of bbq in Tanglewood. Staff is super friendly and quick. The food is top level - like this BBQ Turkey Stuffed Baked Potato - enough for 2 meals.

A 2-year Michellin star BBQ joint was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. My friends and I got there around 10am and were lucky enough to grab a number. The number secures your spot in line but don't worry if you show up and they run out, there's a spot on the porch where the non-number line starts. We ordered moist brisket, garlic sausage, and the beef rib. For sides, we went with mac and cheese and beans. Everything was superb! The brisket melted in your mouth, no knife needed. The sausage had a nice snap to it and get great flavor. The bark on the beef rib was *chef's kiss*. The mac and cheese was creamy while the beans had a nice sweet and tangy flavor. The service is also great! While we were eating, staff would regularly check all of the tables to check if anyone needed anything. The staff taking our order also chatted with us about other BBQ spots we've been to. Everything was such a great experience and the quality of the food is 100/10!

You can ask to see the piece of rib before they cut it for you and they will happily oblige (patrons behind you might not be so thrilled with that move, but they'll live). Sides were excellent as were the mashed potatoes with white gravy on the side, green beans that were just tender enough, but also a bit crunchy. Perfect. They were seasoned with pork, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip it. We also ordered their shareable onion rings, easily enough for three people that were huge, hot, and crispy. Let's get this out of the way, some of their prices are a little up there, but if you're anything like me, and don't frequent BBQ places often, it's a rare but enjoyable treat. Sometimes you have to splurge and live a little. Also, they have their regular sauce on tables, but you now have to ask the cashier for their sublime coffee BBQ sauce. Don't be shy, ask. It's worth it. Oh, pro tip: If you want beef ribs, the 'plate' is actually cheaper and a better deal than 'by the pound', so save a little money and get two sides.

The best thing there is probably the brisket though. It's moist and fatty and easy to eat. The ends weren't hard, charred, or chewy. I don't think there was like seasoning or flavor was heavy but the quality of the meat was delicious. The sides weren't the best or even best selection. Just the basic corn bread, steamed okra, green beans, and a few others. They had like garnishes at the condiment bar. They have sauces like coffee bbq, hot sauce, habernaro, and bbq sauce.. the bbq sauce is the best. The coffee bbq sauce literally taste like espresso and was weird. The habernaro sauce was just straight medium spicy but no extra flavor or sweetness to it. The hot sauce is more like Louisiana or Tabasco type of hot sauces. The service was nice at the bar and counter.

I love Texas BBQ so I've been to all the Austin, Dallas, and Houston spots especially on Texas Monthly. Brisket was dry, chicken was brined for a little too long and gave a tire texture. Potato salad was too wet, too fatty, and didn't provide the acidity to contrast the fat. The sausage was decent, I give 4/5 stars. It was thick, juicy, and was similar to other places such as Truth, Corkscrew, Terry Black's, etc. The elotes was also too acidic for my liking and the cheese on top didn't mix well with the dish. Finally, the brisket was just ok. I must've gotten a lean piece because it had the texture of chicken thighs. The bark wasn't flavorful or smoky. Barbecue sauce was what I expected. Worchestchire, ketchup, and brown sugar elements make up for an average BBQ spot. Overall, I would come back and order 10 of the brisket egg rolls and call it a meal.
