Oh Lululemon, I love you so but my wallet absolutely hates you! I'd heard about Lululemon awhile ago, but since I loathed anything related to fitness or exercise, I didn't pay any attention to the stores whenever I saw one. I guess I was being smart back then because ever since I took my first deliberate step inside a store, I've rarely been able to come out of a store without buying something. So yeah, not so good for the bank account. Yes, their clothing may be on the more expensive side, but when I tried to save money and buy from elsewhere, the comfort level of the clothes wasn't the same. And their pants like make you look like you lost 5 lbs. Who wouldn't pay for that? My hubby is now always saying "is that more lululemon stuff that you're wearing?" Thats how often I've been wearing my new outfits. Sometimes, I feel like I continue to go to my Bar Method classes just so I have an excuse to go buy more clothes from here! The staff at the El Segundo store has been really helpful when I first went in there looking all confused and lost. Lululemon stores offer free alterations so whenever I buy a pair of pants, I get them hemmed and usually when I go back to pick them up, I peruse the store again and buy something else. Talk about good marketing haha. It's funny, my friend went with me one time and she said that while she was looking around and waiting for me to try on new stuff, almost every single patron said "I need to get out of here berfore I buy more stuff." I gotta say, I'm the same way. I did notice though that some of their clothes go really fast, so if you're in the store and see something you like and they have your size, get it! I hesitated on a jacket for 3 days and when I went back, they were out of my size. On my last visit, I found this cute little sign in the bathroom that read "Your Husband called and said you can buy anything you want." How cute is that? I've been to a different location (the Pasadena one) and I'd have to say that this location is a lot more spacious and seems to have more items in stock. I love Lululemon products and have shopped at this store on numerous occasions. I have occasionally been helped by a nice and helpful sales associate, but for the most part their customer service is terrible. Today I had my last terrible experience at that store and I will not be returning. If I am paying that much money for clothes, I expect decent customer service and a fair exchange/return policy. Instead I found myself confronted by a snooty, unreasonable and self righteous sales associate. There are many other athletic clothing lines that are equal to Lululemon and 'I'll be spending my money elsewhere from this point forward. I love Lululemon's products, but NEVER its customer service. I shop here a lot b/c I run and do yoga often (I practically live in lulu). The girls that work there are snotty and pretentious. Made in Canada, where they still care about such things as the end user (as opposed to the other C word country from whom we get so much of our imports....), the stitches are straight, the fabrics are durable, the styles are... usually... great. No matter what, it's gonna last and last. + 1 Star - Tailor. Pants cute but too long? If you bought em at Lulu, take em home, wash, bring back and they shorten FOR FREE. + 1 Star - Service. The staff tells you the gawd's honest truth about those pants/top/cami before you slap down the big bucks for it. + 1 Star - a BIG STAR - Free classes. What a great service to the neighborhood, to have free classes (usually yoga or fitness, and usually on Sundays, but check their website calendar). This sort of money where your mouth is puts the mega-evil giants like N and such to shame. - 1 Star - Price. Oh yeah, I know, it's all gotta come at a price, but it is not a place my house keeper will ever shop. Suggestions to improve (so few for the Lulu!): 1) A monthly "special" item. Marked down, like IKEA does, one basic item per month (or per season). Maybe it's a Yogatoes for 20% off. Or super basic super support bra... or??? 2) Deeper line of colors. I love a bra and you only have it in purple? Really? Not even on line? Everything should be in black and whatever is the color o the year. This lulu store has a much better vibe than the one in Santa Monica. I find the staff here friendly and helpful. I like Lulu clothes. They are cute and usually wear well. I recently did get some running pants that are already looking worn after a month even though I follow their washing directions. That being said, my hubby's shirts from here and my yoga tanks look fantastic. I also love their running shorts. I don't know if I just bought a defective pair of running pants, but this makes me think twice about spending money on clothes that won't last. read more

I was walking around with items in my hand and even waited for a fitting room and everyone just walked passed me, so I put the clothes back and walked out. I am, or at least was, a Lululemon loyalist - even with all the "see-through tights" controversies. I purchase all my Lululemon online; however, I happened to stop into this particular location (to kill a little time before I picked up my husband from the airport). I walked into the store. In the past, Lululemon "educators" immediately greeted me. This time, the first thing I noticed was a group of 3 young blond employees standing together near the cash register, talking. Yes, they looked at me, but none of them bothered to inquire, to assist, smile or move. I walked over to the tank tops and turned around to see if they had noticed. They were still "talking". Once I was at the tank tops, I saw another "educator". She just looked at me and didn't bother to engage. She just put some clothes back onto the rack. I browsed for a few more moments after I found a cute jacket, and was going to purchase it, but I was so disappointed with the poor or non existent customer service, I decided to walk out. I'll stick with online orders, if I buy from them again. It's a shame that one negative 10 minute experience could make a person seriously consider no longer patronizing the brand. I think these young women should review Lululemon's policies regarding customer service. read more

Rundown - Helpful employees - Pricey - Very comfortable clothing I've been to lululemon a few years ago when I started to snowboard. I actually saw the store in Whistler, BC a few years ago and was curious after seeing a few of the locals wearing their clothes. On my first visit, I didn't buy anything because I wasn't sure if the price was worth it. The past few weeks, I've been on the hunt for yoga attire and remembered the lululemon store. I gave it a try this past week and I loved my experience. The girls are very nice and helpful and the clothes are comfortable. I tried on different yoga gear and I was happy to find pants and tanks that fit nicely with my body. The prices are high and I'm hoping that they are good quality and will last for a long time. I haven't had the items long enough to know how durable they are. But, so far, so good. They also add free hemming for the life of the pants which is always a plus. Also, if you shop online, you will be happy to know that they have free shipping within the US. read more

Lululemon.... what can I say? This is my #1 favorite store in the world. I LOVE everything lulu. Being that I'm a yoga aficionado, I'm always either taking class or teaching class, practically LIVING in lulu clothes. A lot of their clothes are fashionable enough to wear outside of the gym/yoga studio, so even though it's pretty pricy, I think they are worth it. Also their clothes last for a long time. I bought my first lulu pants back in 2004 and after countless wears and washes, it still looks great! I have tried many other athletic wear brands, but they just don't compare to lulu. Not just the design, but the fabric too!! So I have pretty much stopped buying other brands, because I know with lulu, I will always love the items I buy. And they will last forever. A few of my favorites: Still pant, Modern racer tank, Cool racerback, No limit tank, Define jacket. You absolutely cannot go wrong with these, because while they are not really great for yoga or gym (with an exception of cool racerback), they are so versatile and make the cutest, most comfortable outfit. I lived in modern racer tanks this summer, literally. They also make great gym bags that are beyond gym bags. So many well thought out pockets and cool functions. They make the best carry-on bag for your travels. Another thing I like about them is that they offer free alterations. Even if you have worn it/washed it already! At any point of owning their products, you can bring it back to the store and they will alter it for you, free of charge! The only complaint I have is that they kind of have same color palette all the time. Last fall, it was all about purple and blue. Guess what they have in store now for this fall? Purple and blue! Sure, last year was more burgundy and deeper blue, and this year is more raspberry-ish purple and lighter blue, but... still! I would love it if they would offer more different colors. There is a reason why everyone loved your "Tango Red" this spring, lulu!! read more

I took the plunge and purchased a running block it II crop last January and it has survived. Looks like new, it gets washed twice a week because nothing gets sweat cleaned like soap and water. I bought two more running crops yesterday and had a difficult time trying to figure out if it was see thru. The store is under going construction. Umm.. How about more lights or a larger sky light for natural lighting in the airplane bathroom sized fittings rooms! Who's with me?!!! Don't get me wrong, I'm a believer of the hype but if I have to go home just to figure out if my extravagant purchase causes a show, I need more than 14 days to return. The employees were pleasant but I don't like being fawned over. I understand shopping, specially work out clothes, is an emotional experience but sometimes the compliment given does not come across as genuine but thanks for the effort. read more

Lululemon El Segundo sent me a care package while my baby was in the hospital!!! There aren't words to describe the kindness that has been shown to me by the employees of this store. I've been a loyal shopper at this location (2-3 times a week) for the last 3 years... yes I'm addicted. I recently gave birth to my daughter who was born prematurely at 28 weeks (2 1/2 months early). I spent 2 months spending 18-22 hours a day at the hospital while residing at the Ronald McDonald charity house across the street. I needed to get away for an hour or two so I treated myself with a store visit. I was showered in hugs and support by the staff. 2 weeks later I received a call from the front desk at the Ronald McDonald house informing me I had received a package. I was so confused... And proceeded to go pick up the package only to find it was FROM LULU EL SEGUNDO!!! They sent me a care package with aromatherapy products, as well as gift certificates to yoga and a massage. I broke into tears in disbelief over the incredible kindness and thought that went into this gift! Someone had hand delivered a package 30 mins away to long beach. Who doesn't wear fitness clothes out? Well I do and this place is awesome. Pricey but awesome. I've come to this location many times and their selection is just as good as the santa monica location. From jackets to tops to pants...they have everything to fit your fitness clothing and supply needs. Their sale items are mixed in with the regular priced items. The quality of their clothing is pretty good. I've purchased yoga pants and they have the stylish ones i've seen! Their jackets are comfy and pretty fly! A bit pricey, as many have noted, but they seem to have pretty good quality and stylish offerings for the active or those that like the active look. So far I've only bought a pair of shorts here, which were well-made and looked nice. They offer free hemming, and so when I told them I was looking for shorts that weren't too short or too long and was hoping the pair I picked out to try would be long enough, they pointed out another pair of shorts that were longer and told me I could always get those hemmed for free to the length I liked. Nice! I got a nice reusable tote with my shorts, and the tote is a good size for taking lunch to the office. Located inside the Plaza El Segundo, on the south side. The clothe is great however don't come here. The team of manager is awful. We came on Black Friday and of course the line was long to try clothes on. We waited patiently and when done, one of them Sarah W told me I need to come the following day to have them hemmed cause they were not doing that today. I live 40 minutes away from the store so without knowing that she was a manager, I asked Frank and he also denied it. Let me tell you that we are paying 90$for this pants! After that I went to pay and after another line they tell me that those pants cannot be hemmed. At that point being upset I talked to another manager Sarah H and she says "sorry but you need to do the line all over again if she wants to try them on. But I am 5.4 so they must fit her well." These pants cannot be returned so obviously you need to try them back!!!! So at that point they told me that I needed to do the line again!! I told them it was their mistake and they say "sorry you cannot cut on line" I was not trying to cut anything! When I told them they were making me waste another 30 minutes they said with a bad attitude "I already said sorry!" If you need the clothes go to Del Amo total different experience! read more

Um - I don't do fitness. Wearing high heels at work for 8 plus hours constitutes exercise for me. Yet why can't I resist the totally cute yoga pants and hoodies from here? They are my staples for weekend wear and air travel. They aren't cheap, but they hold up well after many washings. Don't put them in the dryer - hang them on a rack. You have one, right? My favorite is the Pure Pant. A lot of people rave about the Groove Pant, and I think it would look smoking hot on a skinny chick. My size 8 ass? Not so much. The sales staff is very friendly and encouraging, although they are known to blow smoke up your ass. But that's part of the job! read more

These people are not kidding around! Finally you go into a store and get the attention you deserve! I'm not spending my money very often but when I do, the salespeople need to work for it! I'm not kidding! The only other place I've gotten such great service is The Container Store and quite frankly I think they should just combine the stores so I don't have to walk the three blocks. (jk i'm not that lazy) So... Yes, their prices are a bit extreme.... however... after my free yoga lesson (yes, I said FREE... they offer free yoga every Sunday at 10am in their back patio. Tuesdays at the Rose Bowl and Thursdays they do RUNNER'S yoga [cuz yoga by itself isn't intense they want to add an hour of RUNNING] at the Rose Bowl as well.) I went inside with NO intention to buy ANYTHING because I'm poor! I mean... I'm at FREE yoga for goodness sake. So I found a sports bra... and I'm a big breasted woman so it's SUPER HARD for me to find something that works. I told the saleswoman my concern... she sized me up... grabbed three diffferent options in two different sizes and walked me to the dressing room. I fell in LOVE with one of them... and THEN she mentioned there were different colors on sale so I should go for those. Hellooooo.... WHO DOES THAT?? And it wasn't just HER... every single person that works there has a GREAT attitude, wonderful outlook on life. Friendly, genuine, aren't angry or irritated at you for walking in "just to browse" They are super great and you will LOVE what you buy - I guarantee it! They do have a "sale" rack... it's just final sale so be careful when taking something home. If you find a pair of pants you love and you want them altered a bit, they do that for free - it'll just be a week till you get them back (no big deal... I'm spending $80 on YOGA pants they might as well look like they were custom made for me!) Anyway - bite the bullet and just go in. Seriously it's the best thing since 21 choices = D read more

And the mannequins are hot too! I also love that there is always sometimes new and different int this store. Ya the clothes here are a little pricey but they are super high quality and long lasting. So, normally I'm not a big spender when it comes to athletic clothes because, well, you sweat like mad in them, and they get all nasty anyways. However, since I started training for marathons, and running like a crazy person, I have fallen in love with their clothes! It started with a friend of mine giving me a $40 gift card last Christmas. At first glance, I was like, come on, I can't even buy shorts with this! And yes, the stuff is pricey... BUT, it's amazing. I love their stretchy running shorts!! Not only do they fit me great, they're slimming (yays!) and they don't chafe or ride up or down while I run, which is super important when you're going to run 20 miles in something!! Surely, they'll wear out and get nasty at some point, but they're still great after making it through two marathon adn the training that goes with! Plus, their store is super cute, staff are really friendly. They offer the free yoga classes, which I haven't tried yet, BUT they do have a weekly running club! So I'm looking forward to joining for that on Wednesday nights. Their lounge gear is awesome too, and I can't wait to go back and buy more :) .... They also have nice men's gear, which I've bought for my daddy-o. If you're in the market for some cool gear, give it a shot! read more

I have read all the reviews over and over about how they discriminate against people if they're not well dressed or look a certain way. After regularly practicing yoga for over a year I decided it was about time I step up my game in the gear department. My Target spandex and free college tee shirts were no longer cutting it. I was in and out of lululemon in less than 15 minutes. The sales associates were very helpful and friendly. The girl at the front desk was swamped but made sure to find someone who could help me. I was shown exactly what I needed, helped to find the desired colors and checked out in no time. The dressing room attendant checked in on me, called me by name and answered all of my questions witha smile. I dropped too much dough here today, but would recommend it to anyone. read more

The only reason I still give it two stars is because the clothes are quality, but unfortunately I will not pay 100 for clothes that have a very questionable track record. Pretty good but the staff was not friendly. A girl cut in front of me to stock clothes when I was looking for my size, didn't say excuse me, and when I asked for a certain thing the girl said "we don't have it" and quickly walked away. The store was empty, it wasn't like she was busy. Kind of a turn off. I am all about customer service so when I see people brushing me off or rude it makes me not want to shop there. I am writing this review for all Lululemons, they are a yoga/athletic apparel company. People buy their products to wear when exercising. Why do they not carry anything larger than a size 12? Happily I fit into their clothing, but I would be pretty bummed if I went in there specifically seeking work out attire because I wanted to do something about being overweight only to leave discouraged by the fact that an athletic apparel place didn't carry my size! Expensive workout clothes but the best! Super cute, tons of styles for every sport. I bought a cute outfit for hot yoga here for myself, and even some yoga shorts for my husband. The material is perfect; lightweight, stretchy, moisture wicking. The $16 underwear are worth every penny if that's not TMI! read more
