Bagel with Chive Cream Cheese and Bagel Dog

My kids want to take me here every time we visit. Good little bakery and coffee shop that is always busy. Their bagels are good, but I wish they had more cream cheese varieties. Chive cream cheese is the most savory offered... would love a veggie or spicy offering... Kids always get bagel dog and they love it. Barista staff get drinks out quickly. I feel like they are served just a bit too cool as it's great you can drink immediately but they cool down too fast even covered. A lot of indoor seating available but it does get loud. Cool viewing area to watch bakers as well.

First time here and the cashier had no problem with answering all of our questions! Food was yummy. Loved the open kitchen! Very cool to see.

Really enjoyed my lox and bagel at Lulu's Bread & Bagels. We visited Lulu's three times while staying in Fairbanks. It was one of the best breakfast spots in the town! It's also the only place I could find that served lox and bagel. As someone who loves salmon and was scouring Yelp for lox in Fairbanks, I was more than excited to se it on Lulu's menu. When you walk in, you can't miss the glass windows showing bakers pumping out freshly baked bread and bagels. I was a fan of all the bagels I tried and especially their lox with capers, onions, a tomato and scallion cream cheese. It was a super hearty, delicious sandwich that kept me feeling very full. I also appreciated the generous portion of lox. All in all, it was a win for me. Big fan of this cute, low-key breakfast-lunch spot.

Bagel options of the day can be seen here. Not very many choices today.

My first visit to LuLus was not a great experience. They had almost no bagels or pastries or bread and there was only 1 worker in the place. In LuLu's defense, it WAS 3pm. But I was still sorely disappointed at the utter lack of baked goods a Bakery had to offer. So I decided to give it another shot at redemption and decided to go for a morning visit. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had ay least 25 bagels in every type and flavor and there were tons a pastries and loaves of bread. I ordered a chai tea latte and a goat cheese veggie on sourdough. Both of my orders were finished quickly and tasted spectacular! The chai tea latte was rich yet lite and had the perfect sweetness. The sourdough bread on my sandwich was great - soft and delicious on the inside with a very crusty outside that gave a satisfying crunch when you bite into it. The goat cheese gave the sandwich such great flavor and the tomatoes and onions and lettuce gave it crunch and body and a freshness that all sandwiches need. I can say with certainty that I will be back here to enjoy some of the other treats they have to offer - but do yourselves a favor and only come before noon!

My husband had a normal breakfast sandwich, and I had a gluten-free one. We were comparing the textures and consistencies, and they looked pretty close. Best gluten-free ciabatta I've ever had, though I've never had gluten-free ciabatta before lol. Texture was soft and fluffy, and didn't fall apart in your hands as you were eating it. Coffee and Matcha were very tasty, but slightly not warm enough. Overall, a great experience though. I ended up buying a couple of pastries to go, which all were gluten-free. There was a large selection in their Bakery case of all gluten-free items. Some dairy free Options too. One of the pastries I ended up taking back home with me to Florida and it held up. It was an almond cake. Though I had it in my bag and it completely fell apart. It was still super soft and delicious several days later! Definitely the spot to go if you are gluten-free!

Unfortunately, when we…read morearrived, I noticed that all the crepes were being placed on the same skillet once finished. That meant egg-based crepes were potentially touching the vegan ones. I asked if one skillet could be wiped down so I could safely order, but they weren't able to accommodate that (it also wasn't very busy at the time, which is why I asked). Because of this, I decided not to risk ordering a crepe. I did end up getting the hot chocolate, which was actually excellent. It was really well balanced, rich, and chocolatey without being overly sweet. Everyone else in my group ordered crepes and loved them, so it's clear the food is good. I just wish there was a bit more flexibility around cross-contact for people ordering vegan options or with dietary restrictions. Based on my personal experience, I would lean toward a 2, but since others really enjoyed their crepes and the hot chocolate was great, it feels fair to land on a 3 for my rating.
