Tonight (2/16) i offered to pay for my mother's meal on the way home from work because I heard she had a very stressful and hard day. I thought stopping at one of her favorite pizza places (we go every year for her birthday) would lift her spirits, but instead I found her in pieces on the couch when I got home. Apparently, when she inquired about a 25 minute wait time for a sushi roll with the lobby completely empty (a valid question) she was met with a hostile and jarring response. The guy behind the counter snapped at her with an annoyed tone about there being seven other orders ahead of her. She told me through tears that he stared her down with a mean look on his face. As if it was an inconvenience to answer her honest question. Frankly, I wish I was there when it happened so that I could defend my mom and correct the workers behavior but perhaps it's good I wasn't. This unpleasant encounter was the final straw for my mother and since she got home she has not come out of her room. What happened to customer service? I am so disappointed in your establishment for allowing this behavior. My family has been regulars at your restaurant for almost 10 years now and now our experience is marred by unacceptable rude behavior. My mother is a healthcare worker and has been working tirelessly to support the county in its battle against COVID, and her emotions have been pushed to their limits for months on end. The LAST place she should be further challenged is in your pizza place. Employees are rude and tacky. read more

Having lived in Boise for going on 7 years, I have had the chance to try just about every place that serves pizza I could find. Somehow Lulu's had escaped my notice. Went there tonight and bought the biggest veggie pizza I have ever had. One single slice seemed to be the size of two normal slices anywhere else. Lots of people with kids, so there was only one table left. Stereotypical north end crowd; tragi-cool hipsters in the corner, douchey guy on iphone too important to pay attention to the sign asking to get off your phone before you order, and a few older couples in expensive Patagonia jackets with very young noisy kids in tow. Most of the crowd seemed to be from the neighborhood since more than once I heard people "run into" each other here, probably because if you live up Bogus Basin this is literally the first restaurant you hit on your way down into town. I thought the pizza was good, although I did discover I am not a fan of artichoke on pizza. Fold it in half like you see on tv and dig in. Pretty much self serve. They bring you your pizza and you do everything else yourself, so don't go in expecting the waiters to refill your sodas or to do much of anything. They sell sushi, which most of the parents had while their kids ate pizza. All in all a good pizza place, but nothing special. Give it a try, but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

Have met the owner, extremely nice people whom deserve to have a successful Pizzaria....... Ate lunch w/ family here one Saturday, nice choices and decent pricing for the size of the pizzas......for some reason we have not gone back, maybe because there are better choices for the "pizza fix" in my mind.......I definately enjoy the Italian Napolian style simplistic pizza as well as the Americanized "everything on it", but prefer the simpler versions @ Community Oven and Proto's if I want to spend the $$$... Atmosphere a little hokey, but think if I lived in the neighborhood, would probably frequent every few months, but have not gone out of my way to go back. read more

My husband and I loved this pizza, it was extra crispy on the bottom, and the flavor of the sauce and mozzarella cheese was fabulous. We liked it better than many of the other pizza places we have eaten at. I think the wait staff could be a bit more congenial, we didn't know we had to order at the counter since we had never been there and they came over with menus and said you have to order over at the counter, like we were supposed to know that. Apparently, lots of people like the sushi /pizza combo because everyone around us was ordering pizza and sushi! We would go back again just to have pizza again, even though it is almost an hour away from us! read more

Came in with low expectations. Turned out to be a great spot. I got the meatball sandwich and my wife got the tri-tip. Both were excellent. The bread was fresh, perfectly toasted, and flavorful. I've only gotten pizza to go at Lulu's but the pizza is big, cooked perfectly every time, and delicious. Their selection for pizzas ranges from classic to adventurous, with something for everyone it seems. Ordering at the front: I've been treated pleasantly and with patience. As far as the crowd... This New York Style Pizza is amazing! I officially declare New York Style pizza, the best style of pizza. Also, pizza is the greatest food ever so this restaurant will treat pizza lovers the right way. The fountain drinks are delicious and they have TV's for sports if you ever wanna watch the game for whatever sport you want. There is also a nice fresh breeze coming into the store so that is a great perk. This is a heck of a place, 10/10 would highly recommend. read more

LuLus is a staple in our house! We love all of the different types of pizza as well as our favorite salad - the scapegoat. I hadn't been to Lulu's in a couple of years and finally made it back the other day. Absolutely delicious. I can't believe I'd forgotten how good of a neighborhood eatery this is. I ordered a calzone with pepperoni, sausage and basil. And I was not prepared for what I was going to receive. The portion was more than I expected and the sauce served with my calzone was amazing. This is in my neighborhood and right on our way back from Bogus, so we've been here several times. The pizza is okay. Nothing to rave about. The adults in our group prefer the Superb Sushi option, but it is nice to have the pizza option for the kids. The biggest problem with this place, in my opinion, is how it is run on the front end. If you hit it at the wrong time, the line can be out the door. Even if you've already called in your order, too bad, you're waiting in line anyway, and you can always count on someone holding up the line by "tasting" about 3-4 beers before they actually decide on one to order. They'd be better off with two registers, either split between Superb and LuLu's, or one for pick-up only. The place is usually really cold in the winter. I find it hard to relax there when I'm shivering. Also, I'm not sure if it is still true, but they used to not have any parmesan cheese for the pizza. None. I asked once and got "We don't use parmesan here". Ha! What kind of pizza place doesn't serve parmesan? I'll still go here once in a while out of convenience, but really would be better off just driving to Guidos. read more

The BEST pizza in the treasure valley!! I love coming here after skiing or a lunch for the "slice" specials. I love the Thai pizza and the jalapeno popper pizza and how can you say no to good old pepperoni! The place is small so be prepared for a wait for a table but it is worth the time! ***it takes a lot for me to write a bad review. I usually only review a restaurant it if I find that it's something you shouldn't live without. So a review like this is unprecedented for me*** First of all, the pizza was card board tasting, beyond greasy (I get pizza is greasy), but no really there was multiple pools of grease just hangin out on my pizza. It took half a roll of paper towels for to soak it up (I really really wish I was exaggerating). And if you have some type of food allergy/restriction I'd highly advise trying somewhere like Guidos where putting one type of food on half a pizza like requested isn't above their pay grade- or apparently education level. I've been puking all night due to the instructions of "half cheese, half Canadian bacon and pineapple" was not followed. I'm not talking the corners where the pizza meets, i'm talking all throughout the cheese pizza. I'm vegetarian and have pineapple allergies (I know I know, worst type of pizza to have half and half of so I blame 20% of it on my family) but I usually don't have problems with other pizza places. Plus, I always cut off about an inch of the edges that meet with my family's choice of pizza just to be sure. And if I'm feeling particularly skeptical, I only eat the inside pieces. But nope!! Pineapple AND Canadian bacon just scattered randomly under the cheese- not enough though for it to be mistaken for a whole pizza with CB& pineapple, just enough to show carelessness while spreading the toppings. From the moment you step into the place there is zero organization. The way you place your order is a disaster. The employees are rude and act as if you are in there way. On a return visit the customer service was considerably better. We arrived again at about 7pm. The fellow at the register immediately assured us that he was baking several varieties of pies for slices that would be available within 10 minutes. The place was packed. And we were treated kindly. The food was great! Things are improving. Had this been our only visit, I would likely give 5 stars, but with one subpar experience combined with this more positive visit, average overall.
